I first stumbled upon Straw & Spoon when they first opened a couple of years ago. I tried their strawberry matcha which was good. I haven't returned because it's not in an area I frequent and there are so many other boba places near by. I do want to return to try their açaí bowls

( 3.5 Stars ) Alright experience I had today at Straw & Spoon. The ambiance within is always nice and cleanly, with lots of seating, including two indoor round hammock chairs which are very nice and comfortable. To order, it is very efficient with their two available tablets to use, simply choose what you want and it gives options on how to order and customize. Very easy to pay with Apple Pay or cash if you speak to the cashier at the front. My downsides were the service and the drink itself. For my drink, I had ordered the brown sugar milk tea with boba. It was relatively not expensive which was a bonus, but the drink was nothing special. It tasted average, if not below average, and lacked flavor and taste. It was very diluted with milk too much and had no flavor because of this. It was fine. The service was OK as well. Nobody was in the store and it took a while for them to prepare my groups 3 drinks, the only thing in the order. The workers weren't really that friendly either, but they weren't mean. They had a very neutral feel. Overall, a fine time at Straw & Spoon, definitely not the best experience I've had with them, but definitely not the worst.

Straw & Spoon is one of my favorite spots for boba and acai bowls! My three kids absolutely love the variety of boba drinks and acai flavors. Everything is consistently delicious, and the staff is always so friendly and welcoming. The shop has a clean, fun, and relaxing ambiance that makes it a great place to hang out with family. On top of that, our orders are prepared super quickly, which is a huge plus. I recommend Straw & Spoon to all my family and friends, definitely a must-try!

Very simple interior with only a couple of tables, but most people order for pick up or to go. You order from an automated self-serve kiosk, but it's a pretty simple process. As far as the drinks, there's a good variety of flavors and toppings to choose from, including dairy free. They also have other items like acai bowls and other fried items. After we ordered, our wait was maybe 15 minutes, with only one person before us. We were happy with our drinks, which were refreshing and not too sweet, and they were also a good size. The parking is limited as it is shared with other small businesses, and it is located in a very small shopping area.

I love when acai bowl places give out alot of toppings ! I got acai and some blue something. Tbh I didn't taste whatever the blue was but it was esthetic looking haha. Got gogi berries and caco toppings and alot of my favorite fruits! This is located on the corner of the Plaza parking doesn't seem terrible, but I went late evening. I could picture psrkong being packed due to the laundry mat right next to it. Service is okay we were greeted can order off the ipads or the front register. I used to come here a lot last summer and recently started coming back and I changed their ingredients in the açaí bowls like before the mangos where chopped chunks they switched to like pre chopped mangos that sit in liquid so it's just mush the açaí it's self just taste like off and just not quality any more and for the $10 price tag just not worth it. It's a lot of granola and barley any açaí any who sucks that I have to take this place out of my rotation on places I like to go to

Made an order for pick up and was ready right away, I really appreciate that! Got the Ube Taro Smoothie and it was delicious, my daughter got the Thai Tea with triple boba, we absolutely loved our drinks. Also got the funnel cake fries and my kids really liked them. Only giving it four stars because I didn't really like the açaí bowls. I got the mango base and it was okay, it didn't have much of a mango taste, the fruit was not ripe, or sweet or flavorful, I got strawberries and mango toppings. Which I totally get it, the fruit will always vary. But I didn't like the base. My boyfriend got the açaí base and I didn't like it either. We won't be back for the açaí bowls but we will definitely be back for the drinks!!!

The vibes the Acai bowls the tea the workers the price for the Acai bowl is the same no matter how many toppings you get so you can literally load it up and it's still gonna be the same and I also have diff flavors so I get half mango too it's so bomb!! Workers are nice and always friendly!

Straw & Spoon is a boba and acai bar. It is a fairly new spot located on Artesia Blvd in Redondo Beach. It is a spacious restaurant with plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor. The ambiance is super cute with plenty of areas for a great photo. I do think the flooring doesn't match the cuteness of the space. Ordering is done on a pad and is quick and painless. The menu offers slushies, smoothies, fruit teas, milk teas, iced coffee, hot snacks, and of course acai. I went with a brown sugar milk tea with boba. I really like the shape of the cup and it fits perfectly in my car cup holder. The drink itself was ok, it was missing something that I couldn't put my finger on. The service was a little slow but they were busy so I get it. There is plenty of parking which is always a plus. I'll be back to try their acai!

This Straw & Spoon is considered a "Local" place for us, being walking distance in our neighborhood, easy and convenient to access. It's convenient and I wish them well in their success, as I remember the former tenants of this address (Slider Stop) as well as historically (has been a coffee shop) hasn't had much luck, but then again, Redondo Beach is tough for restaurant and food services to garner success due to the lack of local support and high rent / overhead. We come here once in a while to support our local merchants, because if you don't support them and one day you crave a Boba or sweet dessert drink, and you find out they "didn't make it" and had to close, it's because you/we didn't support them when they needed us so now they're gone when we need them. So, while the prices, value and quality isn't anything to complain about, nor is it something so unique it's considered "destination dining" it's still "A OKAY" with an OK review rating, which in my book is a recommendation and compliment that I endorse it as a spot I'd come back to. Parking is easy in the lot as well as surrounding neighborhood's residential areas.

Upgrading my originally review because I am totally obsessed with their ube base. That's not something that you will find at most açaí bowl places. Feel free to pile on the toppings here. Service is always friendly and it's really quick to get your order. Cute space inside to dine in if you choose and plenty of parking in the adjacent lot.

Favorite açaí bowl spot! I LOVE their ube base, and I've never seen it offered anywhere else. Super fresh fruit, and I appreciate that their granola is not super sweet but still crunchy and really good. Lots of toppings to choose from, and I like getting the green matcha powder as a topper with the option of having no syrups added. Highly customizable and easy to order and pick up. Cute spot too with easy parking! Wish I lived closer because I can't wait to go back. read more

Super nice staff, and they have great matcha (especially the strawberry matcha,) and smoothies/slushies. My SO doesn't like tea but loves the Brown Sugar Milk with oat milk. Their acai bowls are wonderful, well priced with lots of options. I love the Blue Magik base. read more

Was excited to try this place as I live down the street! Had an açaí bowl and the bowl itself was a great price for a decent size bowl with a good amount of topping options. The reason for my three star review was we waited forever to receive our order, I didn't really care for the atmosphere either, the staff was many young girls on their cell phones and talking loudly about their personal lives (which is fine I remember having my first job as well but there is a time and a place) rather than actively working on orders. The place also had a strange chemical smell, I'm not sure if it was the cleaners they used to mop. The açaí was decent, I'll probably try a milk tea next time if I go back. read more

Everything tastes great. I really appreciate that you offer brown sugar boba milk (without tea). It's a great option for the kids since it doesn't include caffeine. My family has been waiting months for this place to open and it was a hit! Hubby has had the traditional milk tea with boba (twice now!). The kids and I had the acai bowl - the large 24oz was more than enough for the three of us. We tried 3 different bases (acai, blood orange, and blue majik) and piled on the fruits and toppings. It was soooo delicious and refreshing! We'll definitely be coming back. read more

They put too little boba and no option for how much ice. Too much kids late afternoon loitering on a weekday. The pick up for the drink and the cash register should be separate as it gets crowded when people are waiting for drinks and kids hanging around. The space gets tight. read more

Oh my goodness, I have died and gone to heaven. This place was so good. I got the strawberry and banana smoothie. You can pick your sweetness and add boba and lichee (no sure I'm saying it right). When you walk in you can order from the kiosk to save money. I will be back again really soon. Please go try, you won't be disappointed. read more

I walked into this place and there's no menu on the tv- which made me think it was closed. I asked the girl and she informed me they're open. So I walk to the counter and the girl runs to the side where you can't see. And didn't even explain her sudden leave from the front which I can now only assume meant she was hiding since you can't say you didn't see me since we communicated. I can read the sign that nicely points out "cashiers are for cash and gift cards" that's also not too far from the tip jar that says "spare change..." so let me get this straight cash is only good for tips for them and not for purchasing things? read more

My kids 10 and 8 yo give it 4/5 stars for flavor, "cool jelly designs" of dolphins per my son. Large regular size. I appreciate being able to select a less sweeter option for them. I personally think the flavor selections are too limited for a boba place IMO. read more

I visited this cool little spot after a long day at the beach, and it made my day even better. The inside area is clean and has lots of seating (they also have outdoors as well). There were so many different toppings for both the açai bowls and the drinks, my girlfriend and I had a blast putting everything we could on. Our favorite topping was the passion fruit dolphins (yes they look like dolphins) And of course the açai and the drinks were fantastic and high-quality. Definitely coming back read more

Extremely disappointed with the service. I've been looking forward to order from this place and today my family and I went in at around 6:50p. We were all trying to decide what to order and all of a sudden one of the employee turned off the lights and said that they were already closed. I was surprised because she never mentioned that they were about to close when we walked in. She could have told us that they were about to close the minute we walked in so that we could place our order. But now I'm never going there again. We were a group of 10 people and we were all so disappointed so we're never going back again. We'll tell our contacts not to go either. Bad service read more

I was doing laundry next door and decided to try straw and spoon . The young lady at the counter asked if I was paying cash or card I told her I have both . She quickly dismissed me and pointed to the kiosk . There were no other customers at the time . I had a difficult time with the kiosk I did not know how to operate it . She took no action to assist me . Saw me getting no where and did not offer to actually take my order I guess it was too much trouble . read more

So happy to finally see a legit boba place in the Redondo/hermosa area! This place does not disappoint! Tons of flavors and options from slushies to smoothies, iced coffees, milk teas, and even açaí bowls they've got it all and the flavors are on point! My daughters love mango anything and the extra mango toppings (boba and jelly) made it mango poppin! Personally I like the Oreo smoothie and the ability to tone down the sweetness if desired. But I think the extra topping options make this place unique compared to other boba places and the açaí bowls are perfect for those more health conscious. Service is excellent and the place is super clean! Will definitely be frequenting this place often! read more

I've been here three times, and each visit has fallen well short of the experience provided by other nearby locations. The staff often seemed disengaged and gave off the impression that they wanted us to hurry up and order. Most recently, I ordered a simple mini Pitaya bowl and a smoothie. After waiting more than 15 minutes and watching several customers who ordered after us receive their food first, I had to ask about the status of my order. We discover our order was just sitting there on a side table. No one had announced our order whatsoever. What made the delay even more frustrating was that we had frozen groceries in the car that needed to be taken home. Despite living less than half a mile away, we'll gladly make the longer drive to another Beach Bowls location in the future for better service and a more enjoyable experience.

Generous with the ingredients and a flavor explosion with every bite. The Estiva is a pizza with basil pesto, yellow tomato confit, and "fior di latte' mozzarella. He addressed us by name every time he passed by. The most memorable aspect was when we were getting up to leave. We sat at a communal bench/table to enjoy our breakfast items (which they stop serving after 10:30); however, we noticed that others were eating some delicious-looking sandwiches served on their fresh baguettes. They also didn't fill the entire cup with ice which is good. They filled it about a quarter of the cup. Interior is spacious, have tables, they have a corner closed off for employees only. It's a coffee roaster(?). They sell bags of coffee so I assume it's a roaster. My only complaint if I have any, is that for my iced mocha, I didn't see any straws anywhere. I saw lids, wooden stirs, but no straws.

I'm not personally gluten sensitive, though a couple friends I was with are, and honestly I wouldn't have known it was gluten-free based on the quality and taste alone. The drinks were solid too and paired well with everything we ordered. The whole place has a calm neighborhood bakery feel to it, and you can tell it's a spot locals come back to often.

After ordering the wrong tea through the kiosk, I returned to change it, but the manager insisted on charging me for a completely new drink. Ultimately, I ended up discarding the incorrect drink and purchasing a new one. It felt like the situation could have been handled better, as the manager should have rectified the mistake without charging me again.
