This bbq joint was recommended by the locals. Stopped by Saturday night around 630pm and got me a one pound beef brisket. I saw the staff bring out the slab of meat. Came here while I was in town right when it opened. Coming from Atlanta I was ready for lunch at 11:05 and pretty hungry after basically skipping breakfast. I got the largest thing they have - the Meat Daddy. You can see more about it on their online menu. It is a ton of food and I would have split it on a normal day. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was the star IMHO. Other meats were good but not amazing. I think I could have done at least as well at home on my BGE. The pulled pork was especially disappointing. Still good, but when I was getting full and had to choose between finishing the turkey and the pulled pork, I chose the turkey. That says a lot. I do give them a lot of credit for some out of the ordinary sides. The Greek slaw was very good and the sausage cream based soup was close to special. Very nice people. This is my go to place when I'm craving good BBQ. The Beef Brisket is tender, juicy and so savory. The Potato Salad is the best in my opinion. They even put bacon in it. Don't waste your time. The sides are the best thing there and they are average at best. The ribs were overdone and flavorless. The people working there are some of the rudest, smuggest you will ever come in contact with. Anyone who has given this bbq a 4 or 5 star must have some serious taste bud issues. This is a great restaurant... excellent food, even grass-fed beef burgers. Mostly meat with some veggie side dishes and a couple of salads. The staff is very friendly and helpful and also efficient. I had a pulled pork plat which came with two sides. The hubby had a bbq sandwich with broccoli salad. Price range was adequate. Would I return? Probably! Wished the servers were a bit more friendly. My wife and I have lived in O'Fallon for almost a year now but only just tonight decided to give Sugarfire BBQ a try. Wow! The only thing I can say is: Why did we wait so long to eat here? While I'll never know the answer to that question, I can say, unequivocally, that we will definitely eat here again. This is a great place to eat with some of the best bbq that I've ever eaten anywhere in my life (I'm 64 and I have eaten barbecue in MO, AR, KS, OR, TX, VA, and CA). The quality of the food, the friendly staff and manager, and the reasonable prices made our dining experience truly unforgettable. It's called the Moolina Brisket Grilled Cheese and it was delicious! The cole slaw was fresh and lite, actually tasted healthy. The Pork Belly Hush Puppies were delicious as well. I have eaten at sugar fire a lot, all the locations. I do frequent the location in Winghaven when I'm in that area, the food is good. But I have to say that every time I am at the Winghaven location you have to get past the meat Nazi first, the guy you see first when you walk in that restaurant who is cutting your meat shouldn't be the first face you see in a restaurant really sets a bad example. Every time I'm in there he stares at you like he is doing you a favor to cut the meat that you have ordered. I'm always waiting for him to holler out "no meat for you" if you don't order fast enough. read more

Maybe MO isn't known for BBQ? It was highly recommended by the hotel but it just lacked flavor. Ribs were a bit dry (Friday night), brisket & pork were tender but they all needed seasoning. This place is within minutes of my house. I'm a frequent visitor. Brisket and turkey are probably the best I've ever had, and I've had a lot of bbq. Pulled pork is right up there too. Ribs were good, but i wasn't blown away. The Big Muddy is a gigantic sandwich and worth the hype. The reason they only get 4 stars is because the sides are pretty hit or miss, most of the time because they are kind of bland for me; however, if they have Mac N Rack, drop everything you are doing and go now! I wish we had a place like this in west Portland, OR. Actually, that might not be good for my waistline. It was hard not to eat here for 2-3 meals a day while visiting a buddy in O'Fallon. Part of that is down to the lack of major competition in the area, but the bigger part is that Sugarfire would be a 5 star BBQ joint just about anywhere. A brand new beautiful building. Had to wait in line but when talking with friends the time goes fast. I had wings(only available on Saturdays) along with half rack of ribs. My sides Mac and cheese along with brisket stew where good nothing special. The wings are very good in my opinion and the ribs are also good. read more
