This is some pretty good BBQ. They always have different sides so you never know what you are going to get. I normally get the brisket with a couple jalapenos and pickles. For some reason this one isnt as nice as the one in north st charles I am not sure if it is under different management but its slightly different. read more

Portions were on the small side compared to the original on Olive. Fewer varieties of BBQ sauce and no complimentary bread. The meat was just as good as the original. Apparently this location is a franchise and the owner also owns the Imos next door, which rubs me the wrong way for some reason. $15 for a plate with two meats and and two sides was expensive for lunch given the amount of food. Oh my gosh!!! Sugarfire has only been open for six days and I've already had it three times. I cannot seem to get it off my mind. The brisket is great. The turkey is full of flavor. My husband has had two different specials (the Wacha Wacha and a turkey sandwich with bacon that I can't remember the name of). All the sides have been tasty and the key lime pie was delicious (and not green). Even my super picky five year old has eaten his entire meal and asked for more. I am not sure if it's a good or bad thing that we live less than a mile away. I'm sure that Sugarfire will continue to impress me. Check it out!! read more

Sugarfire on Olive was wonderful. Visited the Winghaven location for a pick up order today and they sent me away with the wrong order. I returned on my own dime (gas, time, etc) and no concession was offered other than replacing the meal. Which, btw, was a pork belly trio that was cold and not appetizing in the slightest. Nor were the cheesy potatoes appetizing. NOT recommending this location to anyone. If you have a gift card, or need a high chair for your toddler...stay away!!! I love BBQ. I make a lot of it at home, and have been in several competitions. I was very excited to try Sugarfire after reading all of the reviews and seeing them on BBQ Pitmasters. And the food was good...at least some of it. But the overall atmosphere needs A LOT of work. This was my family's first time at Sugar Fire, so I wanted to try different types of meats. I ordered a 1/2 pound of brisket and 4 ribs...my wife ordered the carolina sandwich (pulled pork with Carolina sauce and cole slaw). I also ordered a few sides. My total bill came to $42. Kind of outrageous for BBQ (Go to KC...it's not that expensive and the BBQ is 10x better), but I was okay with it because I'd heard that their BBQ was worth it. Thing is....we had a $50 gift card that we'd received for Christmas. I ordered $42 worth of food, and when I went to pay, they asked how much was on my gift card. I said $50. The manager came up and said :"We can't give you cash back for the $8 left on your card, and we can't leave it on the card, so do you want to order a couple of pieces of pie or pay with your credit card?". I was like.....are you serious?? She told me that their gift cards don't work between their franchised stores, so I'd need to take extra food to complete my card. Really? From a pure logic and business standpoint...shouldn't you leave $8 on my gift card so I have to come back to spend it?? Nope. Upsell me to fill my $50 GC, then give me a free cookie to make up for it. That way you've made me mad about taking my $8 and I won't come back. Good call. So that happened. Then I get to our table, where my wife is sitting with our 8 month old baby in her carrier. Apparently my wife asked the owner if we could get a high chair for the baby.....her comment was "we only have 2 high chairs and they're in use....I guess we should order more high chairs, huh?". So I just paid $50 for BBQ for 2 people....and you don't even have a high chair for my daughter? Do you realize that you're in Winghaven, where most people have small children? Anyway, the brisket and fries were good. The pulled pork, ribs, cole slaw and hush puppies were average at best. I'd recommend improving your service and getting your business in order. It probably doesn't matter what one family says, as you're always busy and make your money. But eventually you'll lose enough customers that it'll matter. Order more highchairs, learn how to manage gift cards, and for god's sake...lower your prices. Your BBQ isn't worth $40 per couple. read more

This is without a doubt my favorite place to eat in O'Fallon, Missouri! I'm always able to get in and get out at a reasonable time. I'm all about the brisket but I did have the turkey and it was pretty solid the only time I had it as well. I know it sounds weird but they always seem to have a young rude chick as a cashier. I don't know if it's just me or maybe that's the style that they're going for, but it always seems to be the same type of attitude. It really doesn't change a whole lot for me, but I just find it funny. That's the reason I give it a 4. Food is still amazing though! read more

I'm torn on how to review. On the one hand, I love that St. Charles County got its 3rd location of a great local BBQ place. On the other hand, the actual BBQ isn't quite what I'd hoped for. The meat was nicely smoked but the flavor really came from the sauces here. The prices were higher than I could really justify for small cuts of meat and sides that really reminded me in every bite that they were served cafeteria style. It drives me crazy that I had to wait in line for something that just didn't live up to expectations. Other people rave so I think it's just a matter of different styles of smoked foods/BBQ preferences. read more

This place is popular right now, but I think once the new wears off the lines will be significantly shorter. I love barbeque and since moving to O'Fallon from Texas, I've been looking for great barbeque. Unfortunately, this isn't the place. I got some of the pulled pork, turkey and sausage. None of it was very good. The pulled pork had very little flavor and seemed to be what you would get if you slow cooked a pork shoulder in a crock pot or oven. The turkey was pretty much the same. It wasn't bad; it just wasn't barbeque. I don't think it spent any time in the smoker. Worst of all was the sausage. It was a very light colored sausage almost white in the middle. It also had a vein of cheese running through it, which was just nasty. I don't think the sausage had been smoked, perhaps steamed, but it had no grill marks and was altogether bad. The place has been very busy and perhaps they're cutting a few corners in order to have enough meet to serve. However, I'm not going to be eating there again anytime soon. read more

Visiting from the city of BBQ, Kansas City. I think they met their competition. What great customer service.. I saw a review with a picture of a tater tot special (no longer available), but it looked too good not to eat.. Chef Matt looked at the picture and upon request, accepted the challenge... and he did not disappoint !!! My table got the burnt end sandwich (Smokey but not too smokey with a sugar glaze and very little fat) and the brisket cheese steak (could feed 2 people), and fries( which were thin and crispy).... 2nd only to Pappy's. However, they have the best sandwich I have ever had in my life. It is called the Big Mudder. It is stacked with meat, sausage and pickles. The pickles may not sound right, but they make it amazing. All the sides I have tried have been great. They also have 'adult shakes' with alcohol in them. I had the chocolate peanut butter. This place was very good. My wife and I went here with a couple of friends last Friday. I'll give a general breakdown below. What we ordered - I wanted to try a little of everything, so I ordered a pulled pork plate and a brisket plate, and for sides I chose french fries, potato salad, gumbo, and jumbalaya. Please don't think I'm a big fatty; this was split with my wife. The best parts - Honestly I almost think the sides were the best part about our meal. The jumbalaya was spicy and the gumbo had very good flavor. The fries were kind of soggy but tasted good and weren't too salty. I have a hard time rating potato salad because I don't generally like potato salad (though I did try it), but my wife said it was good. The other great part about the meal was the soda. I appreciate the fact that their fountain drinks are completely unexpected. There is no coke or pepsi to be found here. They have brands I've never even heard of, and they are very good! Their sauce selection was good; they have about half a dozen different sauces for your food, so if you don't like one just try the others. I tried them all. My favorite was the spicy barbecue, which was more tangy than spicy but it went well with the food. The coffee barbecue sauce sounds nasty but was actually very good with the fries. The sweet barbecue was about what you'd expect from sweet barbecue. They have a mustard-based sauce that I tried even though I don't really care for mustard but I give it a thumbs-up as well. They also have a white sauce that was probably mayo-based that I didn't care for. Lastly they had a sort of chunky sauce that was named after a number that I cannot recall. It was kind of ketchup-y and I didn't care for it. The ok parts - The meat was good and the portion sizes were not overmuch. There isn't much more to say about that. The worst parts - I had actually intended to get the salmon instead of the brisket but when it was my turn in line the guy cutting the meat went back and pulled a fresh brisket right out of the smoker. I could not help myself. I had to get the brisket. And yet somehow it was cold. So was the pork and all of the sides except for the gumbo. I do not know why all of the food was cold. Eating outside in the wind certainly contributes to food not being hot, but cold? I don't know. That was pretty much my chief and only complaint. The service - This place is a cafeteria-style restaurant so I was not expecting to be talking about service, but I do need to point out that there was someone going around the tables taking trays and offering drink refills. The girl that came to our table was courteous and visited exactly as often as she should have to refill our drinks and take trash as though this place were a real sit-down restaurant. First experience walking in was that a guy who appeared to be a manager (and behind the counter in the food prep and serving area) not wearing a mask. I questioned that and he put one on. Later, he disappeared to the back and then came back not wearing a mask (the entire area behind the counter has food in various stages of being prepared to be served), but was putting it back on as he approached the front. The meats are always good at these restaurants, it's the sides and deserts that severely lack quality. I had Mac and cheese and bbq beans today. I found a large chunk of meat in my Mac and cheese.....guessing it got dropped in there by accident on the buffet-like serving line. The beans were so salty that I had to cut them with the Mac and cheese to help make them edible. I had the three meat combo and was told at checkout that ribs were an up charge, a detail that isn't mentioned on the overhead menu. And skip the apple pie. It was stale and the crust, chewy. I've been to three StL area SugarFires. I'd recommend going to any of them, but this location. read more

Sugarfire in Winghaven is probably the best restaurant in Winghaven. It's become a regular quick dinner option (minus the line), it's seriously right down the street from me. The pulled pork does not disappoint, and they always have new BBQ sauces (hello, blueberry BBQ sauce). Also, they have a mac and cheese that is out of this world. Every time I get the fries they're cold, so I don't recommend those. Otherwise a really great BBQ spot! read more

I looked places up on Yelp and this had so many great reviews we could not resist and I'm so glad we stopped in here. Each of us ordered something different and my beerskit was fabulous. Its brisket with beer cheese on sourdough. They have unique fountain sodas with cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup. The manager and the rest of the staff were very friendly and it's a comfortable place to enjoy your meal. Indoor and outdoor dining.
