Without a doubt, I'll bet this is the place to hang out on the weekends or whenever they have competitions going on. Little sporting action mixed with some great BBQ and cold beverages - Life Can Be Good There! We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon while driving thru on the interstate returning to Alabama from KC, somewhat easy access - little back tracking but not too hard to get to. We wanted to have one last spurge on some BBQ before going home. Will say, the service was fair - employees seemed a bit distracted and in to their own world. Asked a couple of questions and got the shoulder shrug - but that's ok cuz the food was good and the drinks cool. We ordered the Chef Salad with brisket, turkey and hard boiled egg, tomato, cucumber - which was spot on and tasty. Fresh ingredients and the salad dressing was exceptional. On the other hand, the Brisket Sandwich with dipping sauce with House Fries and Baked Beans was a bit tough. Lots of flavor, but the meat was a bit on the chewy side. Drowned the brisket in the hot and spicy BBQ sauce rather than the Au Jus sauce and it turned out much better - so all ended well and I cleaned the plate. Overall, we'd recommend Sugarfire Smoke House. We've visited the other STL location and always had a great experience. Should have written this review before. We had visited Sugarfire Smoke House on two separate occasions. The food is way too salty for my taste. Would not go back for the barbecue. Then we went back a second time to get a salad and a 6 oz turkey plate for a friend who wanted to try their menu for the first time. The bill came to $27 and some change. I didn't want to make a scene so I didn't say anything about the bill. When we get back to the house the only thing in the bag was a salad smaller than the size of your basic dinner salad and there wasnt any sides nor the turkey. I called to let them know and they said they were sorry I should have mentioned something before leaving the premises. Won't be going back to Sugarfire Smoke house. Bad food, outrageous prices and horrible customer service. read more

Sugarfire is my Favorite BBQ restaurant!!! I love the atmosphere and smell as soon as you enter! The staff is ALWAYS so friendly and willing to walk you through the menu and vast array of side choices. My favorite thing to try is always the daily special!!! It's never the same thing twice and always delicious. I often order multiple sides because I can't ever choose just one. This always ensures leftovers as the portions are HUGE!!! It's legit BBQ as St. Louis goes, but not the greatest. I perfer a more TN hickory smoked taste, but Sugarfire does has above average brisket and good pulled pork. The sides are usually fantastic and super creative pairings. They do list their daily specials on FB each morning and would recommend checking that before going to see the daily offerings. The sauces offering is expansive but most are too over powering and much to sweet. The atmosphere is always fun and when someone orders a Big Muddy you better prepare for a ringing of the Gong.... pretty funny. read more

Food and atmosphere are good, big buddy sandwich is delicious, but customer service is appalling. The individual taking the orders and ringing the bell when a big muddy is ordered was extremely rude and full of attitude after just asking two questions (we were new customers). Additionally, as he was pulling the tray out for our food, we kindly apologized and said it was actually for takeout, his response was a snarky "glad you told me now." Awesome. We have been here a few times. If you go late, don't be surprised if they are out of some stuff. But don't mark them down for it. This is how REAL BBQ works. They don't just cook it and have it wait under a heat lamp to make sure you can get your share. Go early and enjoy it or go late and be happy with what you get. The only complaint is that I didn't know about the option to do the Imos pizza with BBQ on it until after I ordered. That's something I'm going to have to try. Keep it up guys. read more

I can't say enough great things about this place! The only thing complaining is my waistline ;) I haven't had anything yet that I haven't absolutely loved. Their regular menu items are amazing (even the burgers, which I'll take over a nasty fast food burger any day), but their specials are knocked out! It's an added bonus that their staff is fantastic and friendly. I do think they should make their smoked chicken or turkey nachos a regular menu item though...hint hint! read more

Wow! What an amazing lunch I had here today! Everything was so so delicious! Service could not have been more friendly and accommodating. I had never been there before. The manager, I think he said his name was Skip, did a great job recommending his favorites and making our experience truly great! I was SO very excited when Sugarfire opened up so close to my house I could hardly stand it. I eat there as much as possible. My kids want to go there ALL the time. I LOVE everything on the menu. I usually just start at the top and go down and when I am finished start back up at the top again. If you haven't been to this place you really need to go. Once you start you won't be able to stop. Fantastic! Yesterday I had delivered an order a half a slab of ribs and they were so meaty and tender. I also had 2 lbs of brisket and it was very tender and moist! There were several sauces to chose from, my favorite was the st Louis style, and the Carolina mustard yum. This place is great. Have been several times and is always really good. Staff is very friendly and there isn't a long wait, line moves pretty quick which is good because it is always fairly busy. Usually get pork or brisket and is fantastic every time. Will continue to eat here and highly recommend trying. read more
