We really like this place either to pop in or bring home on our way back into town. Love the smoked meats. The sides are good too.

Loved the energy of this place -- felt very welcoming by the staff members, and casual setting of the space. What I enjoyed the most was genuine service, coming around the tables and asking anything we need with a smile in this cafeteria style setting. It was refreshing from where I'm from. The meat cuts were all good by themselves or with their special sauces that were on the table. Most of us liked House Coffee BBQ sauce -- coffee taste and flavor are not so prominent but enhanced all the meat flavors, like Kabayaki sauce for Una-don, eel over rice. Big Muddy $9.99 - a mountain of variety meats sandwich. The horseradish sauce with mayo completed the sandwich, like Okonomiyaki, Japanese savory pancake that drizzling sauce and mayo over it. The enormous sandwich was not easy to bite into, but once I did, I got really messy, my mouth and hands, but I was happy that I tried -- it was packed with flavors. Lighter choice was Smoked Portobello sandwich $8.99 - well flavored (balsamic vinegar?) mushroom as a vegetable patty with lettuce, onion and pickles. Definitely mimicked a good burger. It comes with a slice of cheese so it's not vegetarian, but it was good. . What surprised was they have fish option, salmon -- we opted for Smoked Salmon plate $14.49 -- nice size of lightly grilled salmon and comes with two sides -- we got mac n cheese and cole slaw that were good as homemade. I'll be back with a soy sauce packet to make it Japanese-y next time. I wish I studied their menu earlier. The menu on their site is so easy to understand. I didn't know they have fried artichokes, porkbelly hush puppies, and pie shake -- so interesting. When I visit my mother next time, I'll try them and post here how they are. read more

This is a hard review to write. As an over the road trucker, I get to taste food from coast to coast. The reviews for Sugarfire were pretty good, so we thought we'd give it a try. We ordered the Meat Daddy (baby back ribs, brisket, pulled pork, turkey, jalapeño and cheddar sausage link) and the Solo burger. Our sides were corn bread, goat chips, baked beans. A cookie came with it as well. Cost $35. Ok on to the meat of the review (pun intended): Brisket was dry. Pulled pork was Ok. Turkey was decent, moist and flavorful. Ribs were over cooked. The sausage link, it was barely Oscar Meyer quality, definitely not what I would expect from a smoke house. The burger was plain, just burger and bun. That may have been an error with the online order form, though. I had expected lettuce, tomato, onion etc as it indicated when I ordered. That said, the burger was quite tasty. Especially when paired with the different bbq sauces. Cornbread was moist and pretty good. Goat chips were a very small bag of prepackaged potato chips. The beans however... those were pretty darn good. Then there was the cookie, together with the beans, these were the best part of the meal. I'm sorry Sugarfire, we were very disappointed. Of all the Sugarfires around the St. Louis area the one at Winghaven is, in my opinion, superior to all of them. The beef brisket and turkey is never dry like some of the others and is perfect every time. Winghaven staff is particularly excellent as well. During the Pandemic they even deliver and worthy of big tips (Which we give them). If you want barbecue in this area don't pass on this place. read more

Absolutely divine! Atmosphere certainly sticks with the southern bbq theme. There are so many options to choose from--all with names that'll make you drool on the spot. I will admit the employees were slightly impatient and rude. The tables were sticky which was very unappetizing. But, the food makes up for all of it. It holds up to Texas barbecue... that's just how incredible it is. The brisket is the best as well as the sausage. Ribs and turkey were great too. I wasn't a big fan of the pulled pork. It was heavily dry and needed lots of bbq sauce to eat. Also loved the chicken biscuit, fried artichokes, cauliflower salad, and sautéed vegetables. So living in the south, I decided I need to try barbque when I came to St Louis. I was recommended to try this place out. So when I went there it was so much to choose from. In the end I went for the Baby Daddy plate to have 3 meats and 2 sides with a drink for only 18.99. First meat was the cheddar jalapeño sausage and it was juicy and very good. The second meat was the brisket and it fell apart as I ate and it was also very good. The last meat was the ribs and I will say the ribs were pretty good the bark wasn't as tasty as I am used too but still overall they were good. The two sides was loaded baked potato salad and brisket chili. Both very good as side dishes go. I will say the chili was a little more spicer than I normally like. read more

The brisket is always mouth watering! I love that it's always consistent and never changes each time we visit. The sides are equally amazing, but my faves are the hush puppies and the mac n cheese! My husband usually orders the ribs and he loves them! We've been to every location in the STL and Saint Charles County, but our new fave is the Junction in Wentzville. This was our 2nd bad experience. We ordered 2 chocolate pie shakes tonight. Disappointed with the quality and service tonight. Both pie shakes were the consistency of chocolate milk with tiny bits of pie mixed in. The shake just dropped from the straw like water. We've gotten this same shake at other locations and the consistency has been thick and chocolatey with chucks of pie throughout. It was also off putting to see one of the girls start eating the leftover shake from the metal canister they made the shake in, before they even handed us our shakes. I've been here twice in 1 one week and have gotten the Meat Daddy both times... 4 ribs,jalapeño cheddar sausage link & 4 oz. each brisket, pulled pork, and turkey!!! Plus 2 sides and a drink for $22.99. They have their regular daily sides and rotating sides each day! The Meat Daddy gives you a chance to try ALL the meats! They also have 5 different sauces (even a coffee sauce)! Also the Red Cream pop is amazing & their Sugar Pie is delicious!!! Oh and the Smores Shake is to die for! Get there early the good stuff goes fast. I gave a five but it would be more like a 4.6 just because a couple of times I have ordered online and when I went to pick up my food. I was informed once I arrived that they were sold out of something I ordered and paid for. They did refund my money and took care of me. I just wished they would have informed me of the situation before I drove there and had to call back home to see if my family wanted something else.If I would have been notified I could have changed the order and not have to cut the line and pick out what I wanted instead. Middle of the road on this one. Just for service. The food is a 5 star, for sure! We came early afternoon, about 2pm. They were out of some stuff, which I understand. Pulled chicken was perfect! I can highly recommend the mac n cheese and the beans. Absolutely delicious! My friend got the big muddy with fries. Looooved the big muddy. He wasn't as fond of the fries. They were just kind of rude when we ordered. Maybe understaffed, idk. But we kind of felt like a burden more than a customer. But I would still recommend this place.
