I was in here on a Friday a little after 6pm and no one was in here. I asked one of the young women working here what time they closed and she told me 6:30pm. I then went to check out their back area and oh my they had quite an assortment of Dutch licorice, I was in heaven! I like salty licorice, less sweet and more salty with a good licorice bite and also found one of the brands I really like. I also tried another I did know, just to see what it was like. The brand I am used to I am saving for later as I know what it tastes like. The new brand I got is a bit more sweet than I like but I still like it and it was good I tried it. This is a great shop if youre looking for Dutch style licorice. They also have plenty of award winning chocolates too and a lot of people showed up after I entered and all ordering their chocolates. Their chocolate display case looked so good - they also offer ice cream and milk shakes! They had a separate ice cream bar area which I thought was super cute. They had a whole wall of gummy candy that I had never seen or heard of before! I was tempted to buy some and have a little taste test. The inside was decent sized, but still inviting, clean and organized! Staff were also very nice and the register and even greeted us when we arrived. I would definitely recommend checking Ingeborg's Danish Chocolates if you are looking for a sweet treat for yourself or to bring home to someone! We will be back to check out their chocolates next time we are visiting Solvang!

Recs: Walnut Fudge - Maple Pecan - is a bit overtly sweet in my opinion, but it becomes less overwhelming as I eat it - still quite good. The shop associate told me that the black color comes from licorice powder yet you cannot taste the licorice, only the lemon. There were many things I wanted to buy but had to have control. I love that a mother and daughter team run the shop and I loved hearing the mother speak Danish to an older woman that is one of their regular customers. The gentleman serving the group of us was friendly, knowledgeable, and generous with his time, as he patiently answered the questions we asked: where's this cheese from? Why does this one have a different color from this same kind? How does this Brie compare to this kind I'm familiar with? And so on. I can only imagine the amazing sandwiches and grilled cheeses that come from here. However this was dessert for me. In a town full of bakeries, that's saying something!
