I suppose this is a great place to check out if you are looking for Danish style chocolates and licorice items, but not sure if it's much better than other chocolate shops for regular chocolates. Main difference with Danish chocolates is that they use marzipan (almond meal & sugar) as one of the ingredients. I'm not a big fan of marzipan so just ended up getting some peanut butter cups and assorted regular chocolates. They were quite good but pricey. Also got a gift box of nut cluster chocolates to share with my coworkers.

I was in here on a Friday a little after 6pm and no one was in here. I asked one of the young women working here what time they closed and she told me 6:30pm. I then went to check out their back area and oh my they had quite an assortment of Dutch licorice, I was in heaven! I like salty licorice, less sweet and more salty with a good licorice bite and also found one of the brands I really like. I also tried another I did know, just to see what it was like. The brand I am used to I am saving for later as I know what it tastes like. The new brand I got is a bit more sweet than I like but I still like it and it was good I tried it. This is a great shop if youre looking for Dutch style licorice. They also have plenty of award winning chocolates too and a lot of people showed up after I entered and all ordering their chocolates. There was a lavender cheese and the black cheese with lemon that caught my eye. I bought the black cheese with lemon. The shop associate told me that the black color comes from licorice powder yet you cannot taste the licorice, only the lemon. There were many things I wanted to buy but had to have control. I love that a mother and daughter team run the shop and I loved hearing the mother speak Danish to an older woman that is one of their regular customers. Smart tactic since the line was growing by the second. Lucky for us we spotted this shop. My eyes caught the reflection of all kinds of candied apples. The gentleman serving the group of us was friendly, knowledgeable, and generous with his time, as he patiently answered the questions we asked: where's this cheese from? Why does this one have a different color from this same kind? How does this Brie compare to this kind I'm familiar with? And so on. I can only imagine the amazing sandwiches and grilled cheeses that come from here. However this was dessert for me. In a town full of bakeries, that's saying something!
