Their location is highly visible and parking is always tough. The neighborhood is a little sketchier than what we're used to but tonight, we're suffering from day 2 of the winter storm that blew out our power. We arrived on a Monday night around 6:30 -- talk about bare bones, but don't like the roughness deter you. Suily's has been around for all these years for a good reason! We ordered some of our childhood classics: D2. Seafood Panfried Noodles $13 I13. Beef with Satay Sauce $12.75 H27. Deep Fried Crispy Tilapia $11.75 G3. Salt And Pepper Pork Chop $12.50 J18. Chicken wings with garlic sauce $12.50 Everything was really tasty but I would definitely recommend the salt and pepper pork chops if you're looking for your money's worth in taste and portions. A surprisingly good option were the chicken wings -- if you like that tangy fried and glazed jumbo wing, you're in for a real treat! The pan fried noodles were a classic that pairs well in every meal with every dish. Our fried fish is normally flounder but I didn't see that on the menu so we tried the tilapia -- it's a hefty fish! Last on the list was the satay beef, which is sautéed a little differently than what I'm used to. They also used a lot of zucchini and yellow squash but there's a decent amount of sliced beef included as well. Service was not bad for a Chinese place. It's a 3 guys operation with 2 chefs in the back cranking out all the requests. They never missed a beat juggling the endless takeout orders and it seems they have quite a few regular bachelors coming in for their nightly order. The restaurant is small and doesn't seat a lot. It's cold and there's not much to look at but your tummy and tastebuds should be very satisfied with the abundance. We had the beef stew with tofu over rice and stir-fried green beans with beef over fried rice. Enough food to take home leftovers, too. I also saw a lot of party tray takeout orders being picked up. The fried fish fillet looked tasty. The actual restaurant is pretty small and shows some age. It was really busy even though it was 2 PM. Our food arrived quickly and was piping hot. I will note the quality of the white rice wasn't the best (though serviceable), but it was quite nice as the base for Americanized fried rice as fried rice is more forgiving. Went to Suily's after reading positive reviews. Drove 45 mins to get there. Got there 10 mins after they opened. Owner literally told my wife and I to get out said he was too busy to serve us. We were well dressed and polite. Only thing I could think of was racism. Very disappointed. Worst experience on our San Francisco vacation. I'm not sure if his dad is still around, but they always used to talk to us throughout our meal. I remember they used to have the lunch specials posted up on the wall. Not anymore, I think they replaced it with their full menu. My family and I were craving Suily's for Christmas Eve dinner. They closed early at 6p. Luckily when we got there, Simon was very kind to take us as his last customers to order to-go since he had a ton of catering orders and regular to-go orders. In this economy, it's hard to find a place where take out is still affordable and serving sizes are still generous. I ordered the salt and pepper over rice. They were able to get the food out in 10 minutes after I ordered it. The food was so flavorful and everything that I was craving. Took my husband here a couple months ago and he loved it. He asked why I haven't taken him here before? He is very picky when it comes to Chinese food since his family owned a restaurant for over 20 years. Suily's is a hole in the wall, very limited seating approximately 25, but the food is delicious. We have come here almost once a week for the last month since the kids ask for it. Some reviews say that the food is bland but I think it's perfect. I hate restaurants that the food is overly powered by the sauce and all you taste is oyster sauce and msg. Also a huge plus is they have HUGE servings and the price is unbeatable. At first I was thinking how do they make money for having prices so low, but as I sat there I saw so many takeout orders being picked up. I saw this restaurant a couple of weeks ago while I was looking for lunch places to take mom to. Today, I managed to get a parking space right in front. The dining room is small. The kitchen area appears to be even smaller. There was one server who also bussed tables and took phone orders. Toward the end of our meal was staff lunch and we saw two people come out from the kitchen. The menu is fairly extensive and there were some items on the menu that do not show up on the online menu such as Bitter Melon. Portion sizes are pretty decent, and the prices are reasonable. We ordered: Hong Tao Yee Won Ton - 4 - Their presentation is interesting. You get a plate of 10 deep fried won ton and a large bowl of soup. Put the two together and let the won ton soak for a few minutes to get a bit softer and the flavors are great! Fish & Bitter Melon in Black Bean Sauce - 2 - The bitter melon was great as was the black bean sauce. The fish was battered and deep fried, which was disappointing. The menu lacks descriptions and we probably wouldn't not have ordered this dish. The breading on the fish was as thick as the fillet and there wasn't very much fish either. Beef Chow Fun with Tender Greens - 4 - While lacking in strong wok hay, this plate of chow fun was still quite delicious. Salted Fish and Chicken Fried Rice - 3 - Large pieces of salted fish, not so much chicken. Between the three of us, one of us liked it, one of us didn't and the third person was neutral. Growing up in DC, I've always heard about this place on the corner of San Pedro Rd. across from Town & Country Billiards. If memory serves me right, this place has been here for a while, and I've never stepped foot inside nor tried their food...until recently. My dad lives in the area, and during my visits, I've stopped here to get some food. The menu is typical old-school Chinese American dishes that's as mainstream as apple pie. They actually have a pretty extensive menu from assorted seafood dishes, chow-meins, noodles. veggies, fried rice, eggs, soups, beef, pork, poultry and appetizers. They also do cater for large orders and parties. Come to think of it, maybe I've had their food without even realizing it by attending so many of my relatives' parties throughout the years. Just like with every other restaurants during Covid, they don't have dine-in service any longer and it's now mostly take-out orders. You can either call ahead in advance or order your food at the makeshift counter in front of the restaurant. During my visits, I've noticed that there were only two people working in the restaurant as one was taking orders and the other was cooking in the kitchen, which a was actually impressive since they always receive a lot of orders. The guy was whipping out dishes left and right like a Pacquiao combination. As for the food, they are all pretty solid and delicious. I'm not gonna go into specifics, but the dishes are cooked well, seasoned properly and come out hot and fast. Again, that's quite impressive for a one-man-team holding the kitchen down like a magician. A master of his craft with years and years perfecting his skills. I ordered pot stickers and the combination fried rice. The pot stickers were tasty and not fried too hard. The fried rice needed more seasoning. Just a little more salt, pepper, garlic seasoning would have made it very good. I applied my own seasonings, and it made the fried rice very good. I did notice that the shrimp in the fried rice was not cleaned. The poop vein was not scooped out. So, I had to scoop out all of the shrimp, which saddened me, because I love shrimp. read more

It may be difficult to reach them over the phone since there's only one waiter, so I'd recommend ordering in person for take out or party trays. You will just need the receipt or provide your phone number at pick up. You can also pay upon ordering or at pick up. Out of the party trays for chow fun (same price as beef/chicken chow mein), two kinds of mushrooms with vegetables and the mandarin spareribs, the spareribs were the most popular at my potluck. The team here has been knocking out Chinese classics for as long as I can remember. The food is always fresh, and the portions are generous as well. I have been here hundred of times since '99 And I'm very grateful the community has kept it going. As I see the party trays flowing out of here Thanksgiving Day! The whole menu is always in English which I found cool with the specials of the house on the walls. I haven't been here for awhile. My friend said it's one of his go to places for Chinese. I arrived at 11:30 since they open at 11:00. I ordered Black Mushroom Chicken over rice. My order came and I can tell the rice was left over from the night before. The chicken was dry as it must have been cooked the night before. But, outside of that, the flavor was ok. Their hot sauce helped improve the dish. The chicken and salted fish fried rice was terrible. I was watching the kitchen, and they keep the rice already pre-fried with soy sauce and veggies in a rice cooker. That would be ok, except that this dish should have neither soy sauce nor veggies. Drove by this restaurant many times in the past, finally decided to give it a try after my friend told me they serve good food. We ordered the Mongolian beef; Szechuan eggplant; and Yang Chow fried rice. The food came out piping hot. Each dish was good but the fried rice was a real stand out because I tasted the "wok air" aka dragon breath from the wok that not every restaurant has due to either the chef's skill or the BTU from the fire. Serving size was good at reasonable price. Restaurant felt sterile as there was no decor on the white walls. Not that it matters to me since I only came for the food. We came here on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to get Chinese takeout . This place is 100 percent definition of hole in the wall, there's little semblance of a restaurant inside . I ordered salt and pepper pork chop, shrimp fried rice , honey walnut shrimp (ran out of walnuts ), garlic eggplant , sweet and sour fish , beef chow fun, calamari , and tomato beef . The food came out really quickly less than 10 min. The calamari and salt and pepper pork chop still stayed crispy for about 15 min, and the food was hot by the time we got home . The food here is really tasty, the only problem was that I had Hershey squirts for a good 3 days after . No one else that ate the food had Hershey squirts though, at least 10 other people , maybe the food didn't agree with my stomach? Usually I am the one with the least sensitive stomach.
