Great sushi for a reasonable price! Ordered delivery and it came very quickly. We got the spicy tuna and salmon avocado rolls as well as the specialty roll - angry tuna, which had a ton of flavor. We also got the pork gyoza, this was the only thing I wouldn't order again. It wasn't bad but nothing special. Overall, would definitely take out sushi from here again. read more

Had both very positive and negative experiences dining at sumi sushi. I needed to borrow a phone charger (desperate times, y'all have been there I'm sure) and our waiter was very gracious for lending me one and helping me find an outlet near our table. This place is also reasonably priced and the backyard patio area is relaxing and quiet. They also gave us some crunch rice appetizer thing and watermelon after the meal for free! My main gripe is that my friend and i BOTH ordered the prospect roll and they messed up our order and gave us the caterpillar roll instead...not sure how that happens when we both order the exact same thing. they also took us FOREVER to bring the check after we asked multiple times. read more

I loved this place until today. The food was still totally correct, but today I received a phone call from the delivery man who for some reason could not follow directions. I have had delivery many times from sumi sushi and all of them were able to use the intercom and take the elevator to the 8th floor to deliver my food which is part of why I order DELIVERY. Today the man "couldn't figure it out" and then in Chinese while he was on the phone basically said I was a pain in the ass and then asked me in English to come down to get the food from him. Unfortunately for him, I also speak Chinese. I have no problem coming down to get the food though it actually would have taken him much longer because the elevator waits at the first floor. But, he was extremely rude and he thought he could get away with it. read more

Ordered Seamless delivery at 8:30pm. Four phone calls later, the delivery guy finally gave me my food at 11:45pm. I was more tired than hungry at that point. Everything was cold, including the miso soup. Owner offered 20% discount over the phone. I really just wanted to cancel the order by the time 11pm hit. Food was good but nothing special. Might have been better if it the fried rice wasn't cold. Unless you literally wanna stay up to wait for your food, I suggest you avoid. read more

Sorry to say, the vegetable sushi I ordered was inedible. I have a seafood allergy so I always order veggie sushi and I've never had a problem before. There were tobiko haphazardly scattered on the outside of the veggie rolls and even after picking them off, all three of the rolls I ordered had an old nasty fish flavor, like they were made on a board that had just been slathered with oily fish. What a waste. The avocado salad was good, teriyaki steak was perfectly acceptable. If you love fish oil flavor this place is for you, but after this contaminated cooking surface experience I'm very unlikely to order again. read more

Stopped by here while walking around before a Nets game. The space was nice and it's a fine place for some sushi with other Japanese fare on the menu. The fish was fresh and service was good. The portion of seaweed salad was generous but had more sesame seeds than I'm used to. One roll I got they really skimped on the fish--which was disappointing. Great food and horrible delivery service. The delivery guy kept pulling the building front door while we were trying to unlock the door. Told him to wait till it's unlocked but he continued to pulling the door over and over and almost broke the door. Really aggressive and rude attitude as well. Never ever had such delivery service. Cant even explain how good this lunch was (and it was delivery!). Went all out and got the sushi sashimi special that normally comes with a California roll and i changed it to a yellowtail scallion roll. BY FAR the best delivery or eat in sushi i have had at this price range. The sashimi pieces were HUGE the roll was the best yellowtail scallion roll i have ever had. I am not exaggerating, my husband and I are major sushi lovers and total sushi snobs and this ranks as one of the best. read more

I can only speak of their delivery, excellent, always fast, and fresh. I have never had any of their entrees but I can say their sushi is great. The staff here smoke incessantly. The go outside in front of the restaurant, smoke, go back in without washing their hands, and then repeat the cycle over and over again. Disgusting. There are too many excellent sushi places within a block or two to have to deal with these unsanitary health conditions. read more

This place has gone downhill. Our last couple of orders have not tasted fresh and no where near as good as it used to be. Each of the mango shrimp rolls, spicy salmon, and tuna avocado roll were not very good. Too bad, this place used to be one of our neighborhood favorites. read more

New sushi place opens up across from my house and down the street from my go-to sushi joint, so I had to try it and happy that I did. The sushi is very fresh and the rolls were generous and tasty. The apps (salad and gyoza) were yummy too. Service is friendly and prices are reasonable. I can't wait for the backyard garden to open up. Nice place, a modern design inside and a simple outdoor backyard seatings. Service and food was all right. We tried the bbq squid, sashimi deluxe, and salmon skin hand roll. Bbq squid temperature wasn't right for me. The sauce over the squid had an after taste. Sashimi deluxe came with 18 assorted pieces. White tuna, tuna, salmon, red snapper and two other, three piece of each. All the cuts were a little too thick. Tuna's texture was tough, didn't taste good. The salmon and white tuna on thw other hand was really good. Melt in your mouth kind of good. Salmon skin hand roll was great, filled it up with actual salmon skin and not one of those that just fill most of the roll with rice and cucumber. Overall not bad, not great.
