As someone new to the area, I was unsure of where to go for a reasonably priced oil change. The Honda dealership in Round Rock wanted over $50, which is ridiculous. My wife's coworker recommend Sun Auto Service and when we called, we found they only charge $18.90 for our particular automobile. They even throw in a free tire rotation. The service representative that handled my transaction was friendly, courteous and respectful--not to mention he provided an additional discount as a new customer. The waiting area is clean, has easily accessible bathrooms, padded seating and a television. I'll gladly come back for future service. read more

This is my go to automotive shop because it's convenient and reasonably priced. I've been coming here the 3.5 years I've lived in Georgetown. On my most recent visit I was left with a great deal of disappointment. I made an appointment to bring my car in for the 60K service, inspection, and tire rotation. When i picked my car up I asked "did you all do my inspection" and they said yes. I asked because there was no paperwork anywhere indicating it had been done. The representative told me it would be in the system when I went to get my " Registration Sticker". The next day I go to get my "Registration Sticker" and they tell me it's not in the system. I was also on heightened alert now and noticed my oil change sticker hadn't been changed. Now I'm thinking they didn't do much of anything with my car $750 later. Now I leave the tag office and go back to Sun Auto and explain everything while telling them I wonder if they even changed my oil!! They took the time to now explain everything that was done and tell me the inspection couldn't be done last night because the car has to be driven for a little bit (20-30 miles) so everything can reset itself (due to stuff having to be done for the 60K service). Now they could do the Inspection. They showed me the oil had been changed. My issue is that I was sent on my way with the assurance everything had been done when in fact it had not been done. Had they told me the car needed to reset itself I would have arranged to come back and have the Inspection done. I ended up wasting 2 hours of my time by having to go back and get the Inspection done then go back to the tag office and wait in line again. I'm not sure where the disconnect happened but it certainly cost me valuable time. I'm a bit concerned about the disconnect and will re-evaluate whether or not I will continue to patronize Sun Auto. Make sure beyond a reasonable doubt they get everything done they are supped to! read more

Another update on my review of Sun Auto. After my last review, where I explained the questions regarding the charges I paid to have the rear brakes serviced on my daughters car. I received a phone call from manager of Sun Auto. Travis apologized and stated that I never should have been charged that much for the repairs. Apparently, the advisor on duty was not familiar with the system at that location and accidentally marked up the OEM price, instead of their cost. I still think he should have recognized that something was wrong with the pricing, especially when I told him what the OEM prices where, but he may not have been as familiar with their markup matrix. In the end, Travis refunded the difference so that the final bill was in line with what I expected. I can certainly understand how mistakes can happen and his response was a good example of customer recovery. I appreciate him contacting me directly to explain what happened and correcting the error. read more

I would never take my vehicle back here. Way over priced, the customer service was crap, and the workmanship was lackluster.

Your company did give a discount on the repair which was much appreciated. The discount however did not cover the cost of revenue lost in our business, and or other damages to vehicle that will be seen later. It was a scary situation to have that tire come loose at 70 miles per hour on the highway after leaving your shop. Yes the truck was originally put into your shop for an alignment, but y'all were still unable to complete the task. It was recommended that y'all look at the front end to see if you could find out why your mechanic could not complete the job. From a customer standpoint your hands were on it last therefore the blame is on your business. The tires were put on the truck over 2 weeks before coming to your shop. I live in lampasas county which it's all highway driving. The experience that we had with your company was not a pleasant one and do not want to go back and forth with someone I cannot meet face-to-face. unfortunately with our experience we will not be returning for future business, and the way the whole situation was handled is the reason for this review. read more

Went to Sun Auto and got a quote from Travis that the charge would be $600 with testing, parts, and service. He called back after the testing and said it would be 2,000- with nothing changed in the testing. Sun Auto does not stand by their quotes. read more

Alternator replaced with poor quality Chinese rebuilt part from Autozone and was charged over $100 more than Autozone. Guys in the office were rude, talking loudly about customers being stupid and didn't seem to care about getting anything done and when I asked about getting a part ordered that could only be found at a dealer. They did not seem at all interested in getting the part or installing it for me. I will take my business elsewhere. And $96/hour for labor, may as well go to a dealer and have it done right the first time with quality parts. read more

My mom went in for an oil change and 1700.00 later she left. They claim she asked for a 90,000 mile service which is highly unlikely since she is 80 years old and knows nothing about mileage services plus she has hardly no memory at all. They replaced ball joints and control arms and hoses and just about everything else I guess they figured they could make something off of. read more

I had an extremely pleasant experience the other day when I was having unknown trouble with my older SUV. The smaller garage I brought it to earlier charged me for them to say they don't know what was wrong. Sun Auto on the other hand identified the issue, fixed it, and kept me informed the whole process which only took one day. Generally, I get good service within a reasonable amount of time, whether my needed services are simple or complex. I was highly disappointed yesterday though to find that now that there has been a change in management, they no longer offer lifetime alignments. They will still honor the lifetime alignment that I currently have on the family's oldest car but they do not sell new ones. My experience with these started decades ago when my dad co-owned a Firestone. Maybe I need to see if Firestone still offers these even though the nearest location is less convenient. read more

This location is outstanding. I arrived this morning with my twin one year olds in tow. They must have seen me unloading, because one gentleman immediately was there to open the door for me. When I asked how long it would be (trying to decide if I wanted to make the babies wait if it was going to be a while), and they told me that they would get me in right away so I didn't have to load up again. It was maybe a 15 minute wait. I cannot tell you how polite and helpful these men were...AND how nice it was to not have to wait the usual hour with babies! I would refer this location ten fold! Horrible customer service. Dropped in to check on a front end alignment. Walked up to the counter and the guy there doesn't acknowledge me at first. Finally he says he'll be right with me but a few minutes later he answers the phone right in front of me! After a few minutes of him on the phone I walked out and called the manager. The manager says they're busy that day so I can only assume they don't need anymore customers. They definitely won't ever get my business. read more

Dropped my car off in the morning for repair and they had someone ready to drive me to work... before I left the office I said I will need to be picked up at 5:15 ...I was told that was not a problem. The man driving me was very nice and while dropping me off I said " someone will pick me up" he said yes ma'am. I received a call in the afternoon telling me my car was ready and I said "I am at work but someone is supposed to pick me up at 5:15 and I said "some will pick me up...right... he said " I don't know anything about that but if that's what you were told ...then yes. I was out on the side walk at 5:15 and at 5:30 still no ride. I called and said I was suppose to be picked up at 5:15 and it's 5:30 and the guy said "I don't know anything about that but I will send someone over. At that point my co worker walked by and said she would drop me off so I cancelled the ride .When I got to the shop I said to the guy behind the counter ...you guys forgot to pick me up and he said " oh I don't know anything about that" and then I got an unenthusiastic SORRY. That's 5 different people that I spoke to and no seemed to know what was going on and I was not given an apology. Obviously every one dropped the ball and no one seemed to be concerned about it. They got me in for a diagnosis when I was turned away at Ford, over the holidays. I was able to walk in and get me in quickly. They were able to pin point my problems in the matter of an hour or so and kept me posted along the way of what the next steps were. They ordered the parts I needed over the weekend and got me all fixed up three days after my initial visit. They were fast, friendly, knowledgeable and never did I doubt the process. Don't go here ! After I got an oil change, we started getting oil spots all over the driveway. A few weeks later, I took the Suburban over to Huber's Auto. He told me that the drain plug hadn't been tightened. If it rattled out, my engine would have been ruined, and my car totaled with no recourse. read more

I have a 2005 Chevy Tahoe. The engine has been maintained in excellent condition. I dropped it off at Sun Auto to have the seals replaced. Upon picking the truck up, I notice that there's a metal on metal sound coming from my engine. Obviously, upon removing and replacing my transmission, they maligned some of my components. Michael Weir, the manager of the Georgetown site, takes the weasel way out: telling me to my face that he would personally check out the problem, but when I leave write a note stating that he heard no metal on metal noise. But, as soon as I crank it there goes that metal on metal sound that was not present when I originally dropped the vehicle off. Their incompetence could potentially cost me a perfectly fine motor. Wish I'd had followed my first mind and avoided this shop who's staff look like they'd be hard pressed to pass a random drug test. read more

I'm sorry to have to write this review, but my experience here was so disappointing - I have to post this. I had a coupon for $19.95 for an oil and filter change. I also asked them to run a diagnostic to find out what other problems my old van had. Cost was $149.00. I asked them if they could switch out my instrument panel (I purchased another one from Ebay as Ford no longer sells them). Yes, for $119.00. I left my van. Upon returning to pick up my van I find that my oil and filter change is $42.83, not $19.95 (and includes an additional $19.62 in shop supplies!) Guess I am paying for their shop rags or whatever. They were NOT able to change my instrument panel. They said it would blow a fuse. Ok - so $119.20 plus tax. Then they wanted to charge me another $119.20 + to change it back! No way! $104.20 plus tax to change my door lock (I provided the door lock). And $149.00 plus tax to tell me that I needed over $3900 worth of repairs plus possibly a new transmission!!! Believe me, my van is only valued at about $1400! I got the estimates printed out. They are charging for "Shop Supplies" on every service they perform, which doesn't explain anything, except an extra fee tacked on! I had a new radiator with antifreeze, new water pump, upper and lower radiator hoses, intake manifold gasket replaced, 1 inner tie rod repaired and my instrument panel installed for $1485.36!!! I will be doing a Yelp review for the awesome service and mechanic that I am so glad I found. read more
