Drove to my Dealer that sold me the car new and after their inspection they informed me that i needed NO REPAIRS to my suspension!! Honest mistake? maybe. STAY AWAY !! TOO MANY HONEST MECHANICS ELSEWHERE!! I am posting here a letter summary I wrote to Sun Auto after my COMPLETE dissatisfaction with their service and to date I have had NO RESPONSE On September 5th I had my car towed to the shop because it would not start. I was called and told I needed an ignition switch. The ignition switch was changed and I picked up my car on the 6th I was charged $317.56 for the service plus the towing. A service I later found out I could have gotten at 4 other service providers for between $150-$175 (cost of the ignition switch + one hour labor.) I drove my car to work on Thursday, back from work and stopped at the grocery store on the same day 9/6. After coming out of the grocery store once again my car would not start. I called your shop on 9/7 and explained what had happened the car was once again towed to your shop. I called to see what the status was and I was told I needed a new starter. Then I was called back and told that when the arm was moved to replace the starter the car started no problem so it must have been a short. I was told they wanted to keep the car overnight to make sure that it was tested and working properly. At this point I realized I had already been charged for an ignition switch I probably never needed. I picked my car up on the 8th on the 11th the same thing happened again, car would not start. This time I contacted another mechanic who took out the battery and tested it. The battery was replaced and there has been no problem since!! read more

In th middle of moving apartments, my car decided to die. Frustration after frustration, the tow company finally got it started, 5 minutes before Sun Auto was closing. I called Devin, and he stayed late to process my car so I could have it as soon as possible the next day. He was a shining face at the end of a very hot and frustrating day. Originally when I went to this shop, I was pretty satisfied. Until I realized that this shop was cheating me out of my money and not repairing everything to last. The repairs didn't even last a year before the same things started breaking again because of the cheap parts they used!! I won't let this shop ruin my car or my wallet anymore. I normally do not write reviews but my experience here definitely deserved one. This place is terrible. I called a day in advance to see if I could come in because my check engine light was coming on and they told me to come in the next day at 9am which I did. When I got there they told me my car wouldn't be looked at until 12. That already was a red flag for me because why schedule me to come in at 9 if my car won't be looked at then, but either way I left the car and they called a few hours later letting me know that I most likely needed a oil change Which I told them they could go ahead and do and they said it wouldn't take any more than a hour (that was at 12pm) a few hours pass (now 4pm) and I call because They did not and when I did they told me that something else needed to be replaced on the car and I explained that no one had called me and let me know. There was miscommunication between them and there was nothing extra that needed to be done. Then I went to pick the car up to see that the hood was not completely closed I thought maybe I would be able to close it when I got home and I wasn't. They had shifted the hood so much that it was not able to close. I went back two days later to have someone help me close it and they basically told me that I would need to go to a auto body shop to get it fixed even though the hood was closing perfectly when I brought it in. Then I called corporate to figure out a resolution because I was not happy with how I was treated and they basically told me the same thing "it's not their fault". I'll save you the money now by telling you, ITS NOT WORTH IT to go to this place. read more

Stay away from this place..Went in for front end Wheel Alinement, It pulled to the right after, and Steering wheel was at a 45 degree angle. I took it back and the steering wheel is still off center. I'll just take it to another Shop...What a waste of money.. read more

Sun Auto Service is the absolute WORST place to go. They will destroy your bank account with yiking up prices on 2 small things then charge a lot of money for the labor. $734 for water pump and thermostat then $298 labor?! I did all that shit myself over again , and they also seemed to of disconnected my vacuum hose , eventually causes 3 misfires (about 3 weeks after I stopped going to them so obviously could be something different) they then don't charge me for a few things or make them cheap because they broke my bank account on things that should have been WAY cheaper. They also told my friend the SAME thing they told me "yeah bro your trannys gonna go just sell it" same exact thing as said to my other friend, then for an alignment they charged my OTHER friend $700 because BUSHINGS and an ALIGNMENT. No A Arms, no nothing. F*ck sun auto: you're better off just watching everything on YouTube and doing it yourself. Do NOT go to Sun Auto: ever. read more

I used to only trust my car repairs to sun auto until they scammed me this week. My transmission was not functioning properly and I had a friend check the codes. Turns out I needed a new transmission. I called sun auto for a quote to have it replaced and they talked me into getting my transmission inspected instead of quoting me on a replacement. They charged me $475 just to look at it & explained that the transmission just needed repair and that I was looking at no more than $1200 total. The next day they call and tell me the repairs would actually be $4155 and that if I wasn't going to have them do the repair, I would get my transmission back in a box!!! I was so angry! I decided to call around and get other pricing and found the average quote was only $1200 for the repair and $200 for the initial inspection. So I called a tow truck to get my car and have it taken somewhere else, only to find out they towed my car to another location without even telling me! After finally getting my car picked up by a not so happy tow truck driver and being screwed out of $475 I have decided I will NEVER use or recommend sun auto again. I have never heard of paying a shop to give your car back in worse condition than you sent it to them in. How outrageous!!! read more

I brought in my Range Rover Sport because my suspension warning light came on. I called to make an appointment and Shawn was very accommodating as they took me in when I was available to drop off my car. I brought my car in and of course the light never came back on. They kept my car there for the entire day and did a diagnostic test and found nothing wrong. I picked up my car and they didn't charge me anything even though they tested my car through out the day! When I picked up my car, I inquired about the cost of an oil change. I have always been told that the oil had to be the best of the best. I normally pay over $150 for an oil change. Devin was very honest and provided me the options and showed me exactly what kind of oil at minimum could be used on a Range Rover. It was nice to show me options ranging from $35- $140. I really appreciated the honestly since I have been told to pay for the most expensive oil. Shawn and Devin were great to work with! I would definitely recommend this auto service. After having dealt with unfriendly employees at other auto stores in the area, I decided to give Sun Auto Service a shot before I made a decision on where I should have my vehicle serviced. I was greeted by Devin, and right away I felt a sense of friendliness that made me feel welcomed. He took the initiative to come help me get my hood opened since the car is fairly new and I am not a handy type of person. He assured me that his mechanics would be able to complete the oil change and some minor fix ups before closing. Above all, I felt reassured that I was getting a fair price on my oil change as other local auto stores were charging $35-40 for just a simple oil change. Devon also assured me that the mechanic will check all of my fluid levels, rotate tires if necessary, and ensure my car would be operating at optimum performance. I'm from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and was on our way to Palm Springs, California, after spending a few days in Las Vegas. After a long two-days of driving, when we arrived in Las Vegas, I became concerned about some noise coming from the front end of my 2007 Infiniti, when I made long sweeping curved turns to the left or the right. We were staying on The Strip and that morning, I used the Yellow Pages to pick a place to take my vehicle. Fortunately, I picked Sun Auto Service on Tropicana Avenue. After speaking with Sean on the phone, he asked me to bring it in that morning. When I arrived, Sean was very pleasant and indicated they would find out what the problem was. After a test drive, it was determined that the front wheel bearings, which are a sealed unit, were the problem and it was explained that salt and dirt eventually get inside the bearings and they become rusted and don't rotate as easy and free, as they should. The bill to replace them was $700 and I mentioned that I had an extended warranty on my vehicle and wondered whether the repair may, in fact, be covered under my Canadian warranty plan. Sean immediately took it upon himself to check it out, saying, if it's covered, so much the better! He was extremely helpful, professional, and persistent to determine whether the repair was covered by my extended warranty plan. He, and the manager of that Sun location, made several phone calls back and forth to get the answer. At one point, my warranty plan thought that Infiniti, itself, may be liable under my original power-train warranty which might still have been in effect. Anyway, in the end, after a lot of effort on behalf of Sean and others at the service centre, it was determined that the repair was covered under my extended warranty plan and that I would only have to pay $100, the amount of my deductible. I'm grateful to Sean and his co-workers for spending the additional time to resolve this warranty issue and for doing the repair that day. Upon returning to the centre to pick up my vehicle after it was repaired, Sean showed me the two old bearings, which would hardly turn by hand. In the morning, I also observed that the staff was extremely pleasant and fair to other customers, including an elderly women who had brought in her vehicle to have the brakes checked. She was sent home, at no charge, and told that her brakes were fine. I feel I was lucky (in Las Vegas) to have come upon Sean and Sun Auto Service--I would highly recommend them anytime. I have had a lot of work done at Sun Auto. I am a Realtor driving a car I love with 212,000 miles on it. Sun Auto has done some major work at 100,000 mile checkups - everything from timing belt replacement to control arms, bushings, tie rods, ignition lock assembly and fan motor replacement. All work has been done properly the first time - I've never gone back for an adjustment. The cost is reasonable and the repairs are completed on time. read more

WOMEN, BEWARE - THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU FOR THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS OF UNNECESSARY REPAIR WORK!! Took my car in for an oil change last week. Was quickly done and quite cheap. However, I was told to come look at my car before they were done. They had both front wheels off and were showing me leaks on underside of engine block. Said I needed a new water pump with radiator hoses $855 which needed to be done immediately so my car didn't overheat a blow a head gasket, even though it is October and no longer hot in Vegas. Hmm. They also gave me a list with a bunch of other items to "fix", which added up to over $2500 of work. Now, my car does have over 90,000 miles on it, but I was skeptical so left saying "I need to talk to my husband". My husband took it to another mechanic two days later. Fixed the water pump for 1/2 the price, said the radiator hoses were just fine and basically negated EVERY OTHER item on their "list" of problems that needed to be fixed. I will NEVER go back there and must warn women to stay away from them as they obviously think we are stupid and could be taken advantage of. Never checked the other reviews of Sun Auto before, but after reading several that tell the same story I guess I am not the only person who feels this way. Shame on you Sun Auto, not cool. read more
