I have written a review for Sun Glow before, but I want to reiterate how dependable and efficient they are. Some companies may slow down after a time, but we continue to have excellent service after more than 25 years. We had our original furnace installed in 1998, and had it replaced in 2019. We also had air conditioning added, and installed a heat exchange unit in our ADU. We just had our 2025 winter maintenance check and everything is ready for the next 6 months of winter storms. read more

When we decided it was time to replace our air conditioner and furnace, we didn't take it lightly. It's a very expensive undertaking and we did a lot of research as well as getting 3 estimates before finally choosing SunGlow. We chose them based on brand (Carrier), price, and Google/yelp reviews. Good things: - Pleasant customer service people - Carrier equipment - We have a functional furnace and air conditioner after a 4 month process Overall experience: - Inexperienced installation technicians (installed the furnace backwards and the air conditioner sideways initially). - Unprofessional installation technicians: the main supervisor (Diego) actually left our house and slammed the door while we had a conversation with one of the other technicians because we asked him to stop interrupting. - Lack of communication between departments (installers arrived not knowing we had two zones and without a second thermostat). - Lack of knowledge about the equipment (only the manager knew how to work the thermostat) - Poor brand representation: we only saw one truck that actually had the company logo - the others had different company names. Even their uniforms often didn't match the company name. - 7 days without air conditioning during the hottest part of the summer due to poor installation and lack of understanding (on the installer's part) about the increased electrical needs of the new unit. - Did not believe and argued with our concerns: the upstairs thermostat read 5 degrees off from 3 other thermometers in the same room next to the thermostat. We were treated like we didn't know what we were talking about and had unreasonable expectations. - Lied about damaged equipment: we pointed out our new air conditioner had a dent, and we were assured it was only on the surface/cosmetic, but they would replace the panel. When replacing that panel (months later), we had to point out the damage to the metal under the dented area. They did end up replacing the entire unit once we insisted upon it. - Promised extra services not fulfilled: the company they subcontracted with for duct cleaning was unable to go up/down stairs, so they only cleaned the main floor. We were told we wouldn't be charged for this, but had to call and have the charge removed when the final bill was received. - 3 failed inspections: inspectors mentioned the work was low quality, they had never heard of the company, and were surprised at the level of the work. - Emergency services: after one of the many full days of fixes and repairs, the technicians forgot to plug the thermostat back in and we had to have a technician on emergency call come out to fix it so we could use the equipment - Luckily my spouse works from home, because there were 10+ days in the 4 month period we had to be home for installation, repairs, corrections, and inspections. According to our contract, we are not supposed to write a negative review without first speaking to the owner (David). I requested to speak to the owner twice: once I got called back by Tristan (the installation manager), and the second time I got Chris. I told Chris I was going to write an unfavorable review and he said contact with him would suffice as he normally handles these concerns on the owner's behalf. read more

Jarrod was great to work with. He was clear on expectations and was able to install a gas line for my external generator. He made sure that the line and fittings fit properly and tested the pressure for leaks etc. He'll be back after we get the permit and will show me how it all works. Our experience with Sun Glow has been mixed. When our recently purchased furnace stopped working one evening, I called Sun Glow and they sent out a technician right away; this was an unexpected and very welcome level of service. They also put in an extra effort to find a replacement part (an inducer) quickly so that we would not be without heat during a chilly weekend. The technician, Gerry, was prompt, friendly, and efficient both in diagnosing the problem and then installing the new inducer (which was still under warranty). We were very happy with all the service provided. However, we were less happy about what seemed like rather exorbitant charges for this service. An initial charge of $119 for an evening house call to diagnose the problem seemed entirely reasonable. But a charge of $367.44 for installing the inducer, which took less than 30 minutes, seemed very high. We were also disappointed that no one at Sun Glow bothered to respond to an email we sent expressing our dismay about their fees. read more

i paid sun glow to install electrical and gas hook up in may 2024 and after the work was done i assumed all was well. htis year i was checking out the system and had great difficulty starting the gas generator. they were nice enough to shed JARROD WILLIAMS to our home and he worked endlessly until the generator came to life on the first try every time!. Sun Glow over booked themselves during a heat wave here in PDX, cancelled our appointment the night before with no communication, and when the technician came to the property, he stated that "he did not have time" to do the install we booked, and left without completing anything after an hour. We still have no a/c during the heat wave, and they stated they would not be able to book us again until a week later. Would leave no stars if I could, our senior husky who has had to sit through this heat with no a/c gives a HUGE thumbs down. read more

We had Sunglow install a new heat pump at our home. They were so professional, kept to their word every step of the way. The technicians were very polite and professional, as well as knowledgeable. Cory our lead tech was great, even listening to him mentor his team onsite was great. The job was hard in our tight attic, they never complained and did a great job! We are very pleased with the results and will use them in the future for sure. I have had my HVAC system for 10 years and there were some issues in the early days, but Sun Glow always scheduled me in a timely manner and worked tirelessly to resolve the issues. Now I have 3 room units that have worked well over these years with one needing a motor replacement , which was installed in half the time that I was told it could take. That's because the tech Eric was experienced and knowledgeable. Today Eric came for a leak in my living room unit. Eric worked diligently, clearing the clog while training a new hire but moving so efficiently, as he explained so joyously- despite having to work in tight spaces - I appreciate the entire company for the very pleasant and efficient office staff and the expert techs. Today it was Eric, but I've met 3 techs over the years and they have each been efficient and friendly. Also says something good about a company that retains their experts. read more

So this is the successor to Garoken. We were hoping the standard of service would continue. That's a nope. Partner contacted them to address a minor issue with our HVAC, and they failed to touch a base requiring them to come back and deal with it. They acted like they were doing us a big favor by finishing the job. Even the person who came out did some fairly dumb stuff. Credit to them for fixing their mistake, I guess, but not for the way it went. All good things must end, I guess. We'll be looking for the next Garoken and won't call here again. read more

When I called on Friday afternoon I was harshly told the service call would be $139 and it any work performed would be over and above that amount. When I asked for an explanation of what was provided for the $139 I was told a service call. I did not get the warm response that I always got from Garoken. He seemed to move rather slowly. Did a good job but had no furnace filters and had to go get one. Kind of made me late.

Salesman showed up to my house super early and said he just needed to look around my house. He asked to see my thermostat then preceded to walk throughout my house without asking just looking around. I felt super uncomfortable especially having 5 other salesmen come give me quotes and this is the only guy who decided he needed to walk around my house. On top of that, he took zero notes, I told him what I wanted and 3 days after he said he would have the quote, he didn't provide me a quote that reflected anything I asked of him. unprofessional, creepy and clearly doesn't listen to their potential customers. read more

I was happy at first with the speed and efficiency of the workers, but am very unhappy with the followup. The gas company hooked up the gas much sooner that expected, so Sun Glow came out to finish while my roomy was home, but I was out. They installed an extremely complicated thermostat, but did not leave the instruction manual. They also did not leave the remote sensor that should have came with the furnace installation. They also left old fashioned masking tape on the outside wall to indicate where the meter should go, and it won't come off cleanly! I called Ricky Garcia 3 times, and someone else at the office once about these problems over the last 3 weeks, and was assured someone would come by to take care of this. Very unhappy! read more

We highly recommend this company. Lashaun helped us pick out the right HVAC system for our home, it's perfect. Andre, the install went above and beyond the call of duty, he's one in a million. After installing the HVAC system, Andre came back the next day to repair the duct and vents under the house the entire day before actually turning on the system to guarantee the new system would work properly. Diego and Austin also did a great job in installing the new AC as well as taking out a section of concrete to prepare for it.
