First time trying Sun Nong Dan that wasn't in K-town. Went in a Saturday night around 7:30pm and waited for about 10-15 min and sat right away. They were able to keep the consistency of their sulung tang and galbi jjim! This was the first time we also ordered the mul mandu and will have to start adding this to the rotation. So flavorful and different texture and elements from the soup and stew. Good job SGV! And shout out to Roy and Alex for taking care of us for the night! Also playing BlackPink all night for the blinks Anniversary !

Want Korean at 4 in the morning? You bet! Stopped here for breakfast before catching our flight, and I'm really glad we did. They have breakfast specials for only $12.99, which is a tremendous deal. The service was awesome. Our food came out fast, and they kept checking on us to make sure we had plenty of banchan and hot tea without us having to ask. Tables were clean and welcoming dining area. Our group ordered the Three Meat Deluxe Monster Platter, and wow... the meat was ridiculously tender. The beef back ribs practically fell off the bone, the oxtail was packed with flavor, and the short ribs were some of the best I've had. Everything was cooked perfectly. As a bonus, we had rice cakes added in too! This place is definitely bookmarked for future trips to the LA area. I also found out they have multiple locations, which makes it even better. Looking forward to coming back!

Came here solo at almost 12am and it was still popping on a Saturday. I had to wait for 20-30 mins and it seems that there were not enough staff to handle the crowd. I ordered the beef soup with dried cabbage and I never had this back in the Bay Area. I think the dried cabbage taste was a bit overpowering(100%my personal preference) so if I come next time I'll try their other dishes. This place is very spacious and staff tried their best. I noticed there was water dripping from the pipe on the ceiling and somehow no one (or seem not to)give a damn about it haha!

Today Wang and crew really took great care of our table! This place is always hopping for dinner with a wait out the door but the team is always good at flipping tables between guests to get new folks in. They are great at refills for the ba-chans and drinks. ALWAYS a great meal when we come. Tip: get a Galbi Tang while you wait for the Koh Galbi Jjim- soups are pretty fast here. If you love cheese on the Koh Galbi Jjim bring out your phones for the show!

This Sun Nong Dan NEVER MISSES. I love their sulung tang and usually get either the beef soup fat removed, beef brisket, assorted meats, or beef cheek. They're honestly all really good and I especially love their sides. It's usually pretty cold inside the restaurant so even on a hot summer day the sulung tang hits. This location is also way less crowded than their other LA locations. Service is also good, the servers are always nice!

Had an amazing experience at Sun Nong Dan! The Galbi Jjim was incredible--tender short ribs in that rich, flavorful sauce with the perfect amount of sweetness. The bone broth soups are also top-notch, so comforting and full of depth. Special shoutout to our server Judy--she was fantastic! Friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. She even gave great recommendations and checked in on us without being overbearing. Service like that really elevates the whole dining experience. Generous portions, delicious banchan, and a warm, welcoming vibe. Definitely coming back (and asking for Judy again)! Highly recommend.

We ordered one Beef Bone Broth with Brisket and one large Galbi Tang for a family of five, and we were all completely stuffed with plenty left over for at least two more meals. The portion sizes here are massive and definitely worth sharing. The bone broth was lightly seasoned, which I actually appreciated since it allowed us to customize the flavor. Adding a little salt and black pepper gave the soup more depth and really brought everything together. This is one of my absolute favorite Korean comfort foods, and I think this location does it perfectly. They also offer one complimentary soup refill, with additional refills available for $4. Parking was easy with plenty of spaces in the structure. Overall, a great spot for a hearty, satisfying meal with generous portions and delicious, comforting flavors.

Love coming here for galibijjim! Came here with my family and my husband who is Korean and whenever he gets the craving, we come here since his family is in Sacramento and they don't have anything like this up there. Judy was kind and took our order immediately while explaining the menu to my family who came here for the first time. Definitely recommend a try if you haven't!

Went in for dinner and it was very busy inside on a Friday night. Servers were busy handling other customers so it took a while for them to get our order but they were quick with giving us banchan to start off. It was well lit inside and overall clean with staff who were quick with cleanliness and service. I ordered the Ox Tail Soup and I love how it's not too salty to begin with. Adjusted the salt and pepper to my liking. The oxtail meat came in a variety of sizes and they fell right off the bone. The kimchi and pickled radish was fresh and wasn't too spicy maybe with a little kick but well made overall. Overall refreshing, delicious, and fun to eat too. 10/10

Came by again for a weekday night dinner with the family! When we entered our party was already seated in the back, but there was some people hanging around the entrance. We were a big crowd so had to split our large orders to one per table, it was a bit unusual in terms of timing as half our table ordered first and got rice first but we got our orders at the same time except rice was late (after the fire show). It didn't look super busy, they have plenty of tables available despite people waiting in the front, we came for a 5:30pm dinner so only a couple tables were full, however, we had to continuously flag someone to help us. At 6:30pm when the crowd really picked up, service was harder to get. The food was just as delicious, our side ordered nonspicy but somehow my kid found a few beef pieces spit as there was red pepper flakes, I don't remember it being on the nonspicy version. The banchan and rice were great with the meat, I think the nonspicy is much sweeter but I can taste the beef and sauce more since with the spicy version all I feel is pain. Overall, it was a nice dinner, we did have to ask a few times for more drinks and our other tables rice which not sure if they forgot or they took that long.

Best breakfast deal in SGV! They have specials for 4 soups till 10:30 AM. The soups come out piping hot. The meal also comes with banchan and refills, rice (white or brown) and barley tea. Place is clean with plenty of parking and open 24 hours. A must visit!

Mini company event brought me here on a lunch on a Friday and this place continues to not disappoint. We ordered the galbi jim with extra rice cakes and cheese and 7 individual soup orders along with some dumplings. Personally a regular, now the co-workers were all new and never been here before are already talking about coming back lol. Galbi Jim - still amazing, ordered at level one spice, groundbreaking portion as usual and everything was fresh, tender, and bursting with flavor. I personally ordered the Teuk Galbi something soup and with a bit of sesame sauce and salt was a meal in itself. Soup broth is just right hiding the rice noodles, an assortment of onions and tender mouthwatering slabs of rib. The ambiance in here is lively and moderately loud when it's a full house. Ample seating - never have to wait too long and tons of parking. Our server that greeted and took care of us was Alex this run. Alex treated our group like VIPs and just earn this place 5 new regulars as my group was expressing regret not coming here sooner. Alex made the entire experience smooth like a mini vacation rather than just any old restaurant. Will be coming back for lunch also from now on. Other mentions of insane service include Vic ultra friendly and knows exactly what I'm going to order now - my favorite insomnia visits, Ted, Senna(sp?), and Wang. All of them remember us, give us the VIP treatment turning this restaurant into something I look forward to. What's crazy is I see them taking care of everyone around us with equal passion. Benchmark breaking service. Continue to highly recommend this place and yes it's really 24 hours!

Here's the updated review with the remodel mentioned naturally near the beginning…read more Stopped by Young Dong Tofu House in San Gabriel to give this newer Korean spot a try, and I left with mixed feelings. It's been a few years since my last visit, and they did a complete remodel. The restaurant looks completely different now with a clean, modern look that feels much more updated than before. While the service could use some improvement, the food was definitely the highlight of the meal. We ordered the galbi and seafood tofu soup combo, the bulgogi and seafood tofu soup combo, and the new cold noodle. The galbi came with six pieces and was cooked perfectly. It was tender, flavorful, and paired well with the seafood tofu soup. The combo also came with four banchan: bean sprouts with sesame oil, kimchi cucumber, kimchi, and seaweed. Everything was fresh and complemented the meal nicely. The bulgogi and seafood tofu soup combo was just as satisfying. The bulgogi was well seasoned, and the tofu soup had plenty of seafood with a rich, comforting broth. We also tried the new cold noodle, which came in an icy chicken broth with shredded chicken and buckwheat noodles. The owner recommended adding a little vinegar, and it completely brought the dish together. It added just the right amount of brightness, and the broth became incredibly refreshing. It ended up being one of my favorite dishes of the meal. The food here is honestly the reason to visit. It's very close to the quality you would find in Koreatown, but without having to deal with the headache of Koreatown parking. That's a huge plus if you're in the SGV. The ambiance is modern, clean, and comfortable. Even during our visit, it wasn't overly loud, and we were able to have a normal conversation throughout the meal. Service was just okay. The staff seemed overworked, and it looked like they could have used more help. The one server who came around to refill our banchan was incredibly sweet and friendly, and we really appreciated her attentiveness. Unfortunately, everyone else, including the owners, came across as a bit short with customers and not particularly welcoming. It didn't ruin the meal, but it was noticeable. Parking was easy thanks to the large free parking lot shared with the other restaurants and 168 Market, making it much more convenient than trying to find parking in Koreatown. Overall, I'd come back for the food. If you're looking for solid Korean comfort food in the SGV without making the drive to K-town, Young Dong Tofu House is definitely worth checking out. The remodel gave the restaurant a fresh new look, and hopefully as they settle in and add more staff, the service experience will improve because the kitchen is already doing a great job.

My brother got 0.91 so it was quite close, nonetheless, a little fun experience before you get seated. There's plenty of tables here and it's very spacious between you and the other diners in the restaurant. It can get a bit stuffy with all the smoke from the grill but other than that, very clean overall with plenty of staff walking around. Each staff is designated to a specific area and they're all pretty quick. They're friendly as well which is a nice gesture to see. With how busy it is, they're always on the move and they got some of our orders wrong along with missed orders which is understandable. All the meats that we've tried were so delicious, personal favorite goes to the bulgogi, beef belly, and brisket. All the cuts were very good and not too fatty which is the best part. The bonchon is great as well, plenty of options and most of them are what you usually see at standard Korean restaurants. Personal favorite goes to the fish cake, a bit spicy but very delicious overall. Besides the meat cuts, I love their kimchi fried rice, although it used to be bigger portions and come in a Korean lunch box, now it's just a small bowl, still tasty regardless. Also love their steamed egg, super puffy and very delicious, not too salty either. Overall, one of the best KBBQ spots not only in SGV but all of California/US/Worldwide. They have so much meat cuts, many non meat options as well, great staff, clean restaurant, and most of all, very delicious foods. I love mung beans, so it was great. By itself, the pancake is great, but the sauce that came with it elevated it. It's also a huge portion too! Half chicken with honey butter: This was so crispy and juicy! The honey butter flavor is so unique! I do think it's a bit too sweet for me, but I enjoyed it still.
