This review is for the service, not the food. I was the first customer at this bakery as soon as they opened at 10am. I ordered 4 drinks. There were 4 customers that came after me. Although I was the first customer to place the order, I was the last to get my drinks. The other 4 customers got their drinks and left the bakery and I was still waiting for my drinks. The staff was totally incompetent. She was so confused she cannot even prepare 4 drinks properly in the proper order! I had to wait 19 minutes to get 4 drinks while all the other customers got their drinks and left the store. This is very frustrating especially because I like their bread and I like the drinks with salted cheese. read more

Some of the item I always get Frank Roll (it's basically a hot dog with delicious bun, almost croissant like) Tuna bread, it's a pastry with tuna filling inside, a must try Taro cakes, they have both red bean filling and cream filling, i personally like the red bean filling better. read more

They have the best rolls that look like a cannoli. I can not find anywhere else that has those rolls. Every store is a little different in flavor. But for the most part. It's the best thing they make. I don't really care for their teas. But it isn't bad. They make decent cakes. I've only ever ordered and ate the mango mousse cakes. My son loves their bread. And my son is 4 and picky. So that's awesome. Customer service varies on location. It's usually young kids trying to learn customer service skills. read more

You will find this bakery in the same plaza as GW supermarket as one among a row of new tenants in this plaza. What I liked most about Sunmerry are flavors I wouldn't find at other Asian bakeries. In particular I liked the earl grey tea croissant. However, although I liked the variety the 5 pastry items I purchased did not tasted fresh baked and I ate it all onsite. The bakery itself isn't very big with only 3 small tables but if you stop by for a visit on the weekday before 10am an offering of $1 breakfast pastries to include savory and sweet. Although I did not get the freshest tasting baked goods on this first visit, i found the offering intriguing enough to bring me back a second time. In particular that earl grey croissant. read more

I'm a huge fan of happy lemon!!! I used to go the one on Gale, but today I thought I could have some cakes too!! It's a rainy day, so I got myself a cheese cake and a sliced of Black Forest, both of them weren't too sweet, perfect to me. They have some samples on the table, so that I had a brief idea of sugar level, I think that's pretty cool. I always order the same milk tea at happy lemon regardless locations. So I can really tell if there's a difference. Probably I had too much, lol. However, milk tea here was way watered down. Not milky at all, barely tasted the tea. I did not enjoy it that much. I don't know if this location use a differ recipe or what, but I think consistency is extremely important for any brand. read more

Sunmerry or Duke bakery are my current to go bakeries in the area. Sunmerry has the typical Asian bread similar but better than 85C. The drinks are good too just a bit pricier compared to 85C. Parking for this location ain't too ideal as there maybe shopping carts roaming in the lot from the Chinese Markets in the same plaza with small parking spaces. BTW FRIENDLY STAFFS!! read more

This bakery is a lot smaller than the one in Temple City. It's still got all my favorites plus more! However the green tea & almond croissants are long unlike the one in TC where it's an actual round fluffy croissant. The taste was the same tho, but just smaller in my opinion. I tried a shiitake and cheese bread and it's my new fav!!! I like how there's a small sitting area in this shoppe too. Plenty of parking, and I'll be back!!! read more

This place has gone down the drain. The bakery items and drinks have been so terrible the last few times I've come here. Every time I think I'll give them another chance and every time they mess things up even more. They always make a mistake on my drinks and the baked good are so stale and disgusting now. It was my birthday we got an Oreo cake. It looked nice but when we ate it it was already soggy and squishy. The Oreos on it were not crunchy at all. You can tell the cake has been made for days. And that's not the worst part. We all got bad stomach and gas after eating it. My friend got diarrhea even fever. Still not recovered. And it cost $32 before tax. Worst birthday cake ever! read more

First time trying their Tiramisu cake and I am very disappointed. It tastes NOTHING like a Tiramisu very bland just like any other regular cake and ZERO! coffee-dipped ladyfingers, slight rum, or mascarpone cheese flavor, which are signature of most Tiramisu cake, if not all that I have tasted before in various bakeries. Not only that but the cocoa powder on the surface layer immediately falls apart, making it extremely difficult to eat and be able to taste the already lacking cocoa flavor. I have been a regular customer of their pastries, especially their tuna bread which tastes great when reheated and slightly baked again. But am truly disappointed trying their cake the first time, especially when charged at this expensive price and not even tasting the essential flavors that distinguishes a cake as Tiramisu. read more

There's a small station inside the entrance with a spray bottle and a stack of plastic bags (instead of trays) with a sign requesting you sanitize before shopping. No enforcement and who wants to touch a dirty spray bottle. The garlic bread was excessively soggy and the butter/sweet cream topping thing did not complement this bakery item at all. New bakery in Rowland Heights. I tried a few pasties. The black sesame seed bun has a hint of sweetness and it was delicious. I also tried the matcha donut, It was light and fluffy and one of my favorites. I Definitely will return to Sunmerry bakery, I cannot wait to try all the pastries. read more

I have tried Sunmerry Bakery at other location before so I know what to expect. But this time, I have purchase the cake for the first time and it actually pretty good. The cake cost $30: comparable to other similar Taiwanese bakeries. Have not tried the drinks at this location yet. Will give it a go next time. Their breads are kind of small in size compare to other Taiwanese bakeries around the area. But the quality is good. Really. There is a difference between cheap bakeries. They skip on quality. Hope Sunmerry Bakery keeps up making quality bread and cake. I will certainly patronize them more in the future if they keep making quality bread and cake! read more

This location very unorganized and dirty. Most employees & Managers didn't know / understand rules & regulations how to disinfect the area after customer sit on the booth area. Yay! This is an awesome bakery. I'm go glad they finally opened one in Rowland heights. We will have around dinner time and the selection was small but still decent. The bread here is so good! No idea what the manager of this store was thinking and deciding the recently 3-prior-days for ordering cakes, but we have decided to take our cake ordering business somewhere else. Everyone was so satisfied with our son's birthday cake that was pre-ordered 1 DAY before in mid december that we decided to go with this store for 2 more birthday cake orders. Unfortunately, to our surprise the next week they posted this new rule and we could not order a cake for another birthday. We came back on Thursday and tried to order a cake for Saturday and was flat out rejected. Decided to go to Duke Bakery instead and in the future. Hopefully the other Sunmerry stores do not follow suit. read more
