Updating my previous review. Went here today for a party a friend was hosting. My what a cute shop with delicious ice cream! I sampled a Salted Carmel ice cream and an Elvis ice cream ( it had bananas and peanut butter in it). They were both super, rich and creamy. I could have sampled more but decided on Strawberry cheesecake as I've had that other places and it sounded more healthy Let me tell you it was the best I've had, chunks of strawberries and cheesecake, this was amazing. The girl at the counter was sweet and very patient. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a few tables outside and a little lawn with games like corn hole and lawn bowling.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Sunny Scoops is tucked into a corner of a hidden strip mall in Rancho Bernardo.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Check it out you won't be sorry!

After an afternoon trip to Julian I was looking for ice cream.  Sunny Scoops is located in a small strip mall in Poway.  Lots of traditional flavors to choose from. Vanilla was rich and creamy with delicious sweet vanilla flavor. Black cherry was rich and creamy with sweet cherry flavor. Guy in charge was nice and efficient.  Real nice ice cream shop.

Very tasty local ice cream place. Award winning Zanzibar Chocolate. Get a stamp on the stamp card for every ice cream ordered. Fill up the card (10 stamps) and get a free ice cream. You can sample the different flavors. Friendly, accommodating staff. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Outdoor seating and kid games to entertain the young and young at heart.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you are in the area, give them a try for some tasty ice cream.

All of the ice creams I've tasted are delicious, service is great, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the outdoor games and sundae bench add fun decor[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I love supporting this small business and appreciate the late hours. My favorite thing (besides their yummy ice cream, especially peanut butter hearts and mackinac island fudge) is the color-changing spoons!

    Finally! Around the corner!

2026. I am back! It is still over 1 hr drive. "JUST BECAUSE" I wanted to indulge. Long lasting fav includes Zanzibar chocolate & Rocken' Elvis. Strawberry & Pomegranate swirls were new surprises! Delicious!

Sunny Scoops is a little hidden gem tucked into a somewhat random parking lot, but don't let that deter you, because the ice cream is so worth it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The setting is quaint and simple: no seating inside, just a few small tables and an ice-cream-themed bench outside for enjoying your scoop.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service is always great, and I love that the flavors rotate regularly. Their vegan options deserve a special shoutout: super creamy and flavorful, to the point where you honestly can't tell they're vegan. The famous Zanzibar chocolate is rich, decadent, and absolutely delicious, especially paired with the black cherry. And if you ever see the s'mores flavor available, do not skip it. If you're not too concerned about ambiance and just want really great ice cream, Sunny Scoops is a must-visit

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute little ice cream shop in residential neighborhood.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They had quite a variety (about 35 flavors) even though it's a little shop. They had a few yard games out on the lawn next to their store, and we actually played Connect Four. The ice cream was good, nothing that stands out, but it was good. It's prices similar to Salt n Straw. But I like supporting small businesses. There was only one person working, and she did great getting to all the customers. We had Superman, Java?, Strawberry Cheesecake and another chocolate flavor. I got the kids scoop and it was just the right amount for me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]So busy eating our ice cream I didn't get to snap pics.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I'd say we hung out for about 30 minutes and there were people there the entire time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you're in the area, cute place to try out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I've lived not to far from here for years and didn't even know this little strip mall existed and this ice cream shop is a total hidden gem! The sisters who own it are so sweet and they have such a cute setup outside the shop with benches and tables and fun games and activities. It's the perfect place to hang out and enjoy ice cream with friends and family! They went out of their way to explain their different treats and helped us find something perfect for everyone. They have 35 rotating flavors throughout the year, including vegan and no-sugar options too. They make their waffle cones fresh by hand, and have fun options like waffle tacos, ice cream pies, affogatos, shakes, floats, and even boba. We tried: Waffle Taco w/ Butter Pecan, Rockin Elvis, & Exhausted Parent Cup of Silly Strawberry Cone with Electric Sour Watermelon & Mango Italian Ice No Sugar Added Strawberry Ripple Milkshake The Exhausted Parent is Bourbon flavored espresso ice cream with chocolate chunks so Stephen & I had to try it. It suited both of us parents perfectly They load the waffle tacos with 3 scoops of your choice and top with heaps of hot fudge, sprinkles, whipped cream and cherries. I felt the 3 flavors we got were a good pairing with the fudge - so yummy! We all loved the sour watermelon Italian Ice which was so refreshing. Our son loved the strawberry ice cream, and I loved how creamy the no sugar added milkshake was, with the perfect hint of sweetness.

It took me too long to visit them in the store. I've been working with Susie on multiple events and they've been very generous supporting schools and sports teams. They have so many flavors to choose from. I got a rainbow sorbet and it was delicious. The store is spacious and there are many outdoor games. It's a nice place to have a treat and hang out. Please support a local business who is doing good in the community.

Cute little ice cream shop tucked away in Rancho Bernardo. The staff member assisting us was so sweet and patient with our group. All the flavors we sampled tasted great but I went with Nathan's Famous Java Chip (coffee, chocolate toffee, candy coated almonds) and Brownie Cascade (chocolate with brownie pieces, caramel cups, fudge). My 8yo daughter, who doesn't usually finish her ice cream, had the Cotton Candy flavor and she ate all of it! I appreciated the split scoop option and the kiddie size. The color changing spoons are also fun! There are also some lawn games on the small grassy area next to it along with a cute ice cream bench. Tables and chairs are located on the side as well as in front to enjoy your ice cream there.

The latte was good, and my friend bought a kitchen sink type cookie with chocolate, coconut, and macadamia nuts. It was warm and gooey good! Another friend tried the gelato and said it was very good. The decor and tables definitely gives you an old school Italian neighborhood vibe with Italian markets right next door. The decor and setting is cute and quirky, including cow sculptures hanging upside down from the ceiling. There were only a couple other visitors when we arrived, as it was near opening time. Our dishes took a whopping 35 minutes to be ready, and service was not very friendly nor helpful. Luckily, the music playing through the speakers added a nice vibe to the place, songs like Our House by Madness and Can't Fight This Feeling. We ordered the brunch pizza (with eggs cooked overeasy) and the breakfast flatbread which looked almost identical when served, as well as an iced mocha. The quality of the pizza was pretty average, and the eggs were slightly overcooked. The drink was really good, made fresh, with a smooth taste and a nice sweetness to it, the plastic cup coated in chocolate sauce. It tasted more like chocolate milk with a hint of coffee, which I personally enjoyed. They typically serve gelato here, but it would not be ready till almost two hours after opening time. So no milkshakes or cold desserts were available in the morning this past Sunday (no worries, Ghirardelli is just a block away). I appreciate the variety of menu items offered here. But they really should communicate online that their gelato's not ready till two hours into the day. If there's one thing that irks me about an establishment, it's failure to communicate appropriately. Even though our recent visit was somewhat disappointing, I still gave 3 stars, assuming this was an off day for them.

We stopped by recently and got incredibly lucky--there was no line in sight, so we walked right up to order! The Cookies: Gooey, Crisp, & Perfectly Balanced My wife decided to try a trio of cookies, picking out Snickerdoodle, Peanut Butter Reese's, and classic Chocolate Chip. They completely nailed the texture. Every single cookie hit that golden sweet spot--warm and gooey in the middle with just the right amount of crisp edge. What really stood out was the balance of ingredients. Chocolate Chip: Perfectly measured so you get sweet chocolate in every bite without feeling overwhelmed by chips. Peanut Butter Reese's: An absolute dream ratio of rich peanut butter to chocolate peanut butter cups. Snickerdoodle: Perfectly spiced, striking just the right "snicker-to-doodle" balance! Of course, we couldn't leave without trying the ice cream. I ordered a combination of Cookie Monster and Campfire in a single scoop. The portion size was remarkably generous--it completely filled up the small cup and delivered a fantastic mix of flavors. My wife went with a scoop combining Espresso Oreo and Mint & Chip, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, these were easily some of the best desserts we've had in a very long time. Not only that, but they also have a small selection of gelatos which look pretty authentic like Spumoni! Other desserts I saw were mousse, tiramisu, cannoli, cheesecake, carrot cake, and rugelach. The cafe is small and the service may take a bit if you are waiting for the food, but overall, I enjoyed my coffee and sandwich.
