I wanted to take my nieces and nephews ojt to breakfast and decided to pay Sunnys a visit. When we walked in the door, the greeting wasn't very friendly. It was no hello, hi, how are you... just takeout or dining in and when I mentioned dining in, she wasn't too thrilled. So we chose our booth and sat down. The waitress attitude at the beginning was not welcoming at all. To the point where my nephew that is 6yrs old asked, whats wrong with her. We placed our order and when the food arrived, all of us where excited. The food looked and tasted great. Hats off to the chef.

Blueberry pancakes, sausage and bacon, side of hash and cheesy scrambled eggs

Solid breakfast spot right by the airport. Stopped here with my sister after my flight into the city. We got there fairly early, a little after 8 am and it wasn't busy at all. We could sit where we wanted and our waitress brought out the menus shortly after. They have an extensive menu with lots of breakfast staples. My sister and I both had the blueberry pancakes with a side of meat and we got a plate of their hash browns to share. The portions were huge!! I couldn't even finish my pancakes. They were fluffy and full of blueberries. The sausage and bacon we had was crisp and the hash browns were good. It was my first time eating them in the style they made them. They seemed more like scalloped potatoes. The only reason I knocked off a star was I used the bathroom and there was no soap in the dispenser. Thank God I had my hand sanitizer with me, but not a bad option for breakfast.

This restaurant is a pretty good breakfast joint very close to the airport. I flew into Detroit on a red eye flight and was starving. After waiting for my parents to arrive 2 hours after me, we agreed that we were all hungry and wanted to eat ASAP. I did a quick search on Yelp and found this place just outside of the airport. We parked, walked inside, and got seated immediately. After looking at the menu for a short period of time, we all decided to order the same thing -- the Big Breakfast. The deets: - Big Breakfast: It's actually a lot of food, hence the name Big Breakfast. It was 3 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, 2 pieces of ham, 2 sausage links, hashbrowns, and 2 pieces of toast. Everything was good and tasted as it should. The hashbrowns were the biggest part of the meal. Service was alright, not bad but not amazing. There was plenty of parking and the place was easy to find. This place is a perfect pit stop for those flying in/out!

Stopped in to blow some time because I was way too early to get to the airport yet but had already checked out of the hotel. Clean and the staff was very friendly. I had the coney with no onions and added cheese. Tons of chili on it. I enjoyed and may stop by here again when I'm in town.

Ate here for the first time. Myself and my two friends all ordered food that included scrambled eggs. Two of us opted for American cheese. We received our food and immediately stated that the cheese smelled... different. I tried my eggs & the smell coming from the cheese was so nauseating that I didn't touch the eggs (I posted a picture and from that photo I had less than one bite). My friend complained that his cheese smelled weird, too. He figured maybe it was just what they cooked on and proceeded to finish his breakfast. Later on that evening he complained of stomach pain. Besides an iced tea, we hadn't had anything else to eat. He spent the next 5 hours in the bathroom throwing up/experiencing diarrhea. The next day was the same for me. My other friend who did not have cheese on her eggs has not experienced any ill effects. As I write this I'm literally sitting on my bathroom floor. If you have food in your establishment that's going bad, toss it out. Don't serve it to customers. I would recommend to anyone eating here in the future to ask for expiration dates. Or to just avoid this place altogether.

¡Muy bien! I have been here before, but today was my 1st check-in. After a long work day, I didn't feel like fighting traffic during rush hour, so I stopped for supper. A Mexican Omelette supper. Service was excellent, the food was excellent, the prices were excellent. I walked out the door totally satisfied. My Mexican Omelette was oh-so-good! The hash browns were delicious. People come from all over the USA to eat here, some even come from foreign countries! That's how good the food is! I highly recommend this Mom-n-Pop diner!

This Ma n Pa place been around about 30 year's packing the hungry families in. They use to have Ray's in Lincoln Park now in Romulus great location Ecorse at Merriman. Just landed back in Detroit for the winter holidays. First stop, Coney Island! Gyro Greek salads at Michigan Coney islands definitely rank high on my favorite foods ever. The boyfriend asked to switch out the hash browns and the lady kindly offered to switch it for tomato slices. Portions are big and the service is nice. Food takes a bit longer than a typical Coney Island but you definitely get plenty of fresh food to fill your belly. read more

Great local restaurant. I had ham and eggs special with pancakes for 4.25$ Really! Add a coffee and more than I can eat for 6.26$! Quality was great. You get "4 pieces of meat" with the special. I asked my server if I should go with bacon or ham. She said ham was her favorite. It did not disappoint. The folks over by KDTW airport have a gem in Sunny's. read more

We stopped here on our way to the airport based on the great Yelp reviews and it did not disappoint! I had 1/2 order of biscuits and sausage gravy and it was the best I've had outside of the South! I also had 2 perfectly cooked over medium eggs. My hubby had blueberry pancakes (that were LOADED with blueberries), 2 eggs and ham. The ham was fresh carved and everything was delicious! Very inexpensive and awesome breakfast - highly recommended! read more

For $6.88, Corn Beef Hash, with choice of eggs and toast. Great, superb bargain. Generous portions of hash, cooked to perfection with blends of potatoes, onions and bell pepper. Place is fantastic, came here for breakfast! Nice team of servers (we had Jackie). Forgot to take pics bc we were so hungry but had the 2 eggs breakfast special and a side of pancakes. Probably won't be back in Detroit for a while but if I come back, I'll def eat here again. As long as you know what you are getting at this inexpensive diner, you can have a great meal. I ordered the chili cheese omelet with crispy hash browns. The hash browns were key, as my omelet almost had too much cheesy filling, but once I stirred in the potatoes, I was happy. read more

This place is not much to look at but the food is good and affordable. The service is also pretty good. I ordered a coney dog with chili cheese fries. Both were quite tasty and very filling. You definitely get a very good bang for your buck here. It is easy to over eat with the nice portions and tasty goodness. Our server was quite friendly and attentive. read more

Best ever biggest meals specials and regular foods. Plates that are super large and full of delicious home cooked meals. We really have not gotten a bad meal EVER. The wait staff and Sunny and TJ are the best. Really no reason to go any place else. The prices are good and the only drawback is this STuPID Pandemic because the place fills up fast. read more

While the new owners certainly have the right to make changes, those decisions have alienated the very Greek customers who once supported this place. If you want a true measure of authenticity, look at whether Greek customers keep coming back.
