Been sitting here for over an hour waiting for our food. This place needs to hire more cooks there is only one guy cooking and servers running around like crazy but there is only 20 people here. An hour wait time for food is crazy. Coming from someone who works in the service industry I am very very very disappointed in how long it took me my parents and my daughter to get our food. Even if a restaurant is busy 20 minutes is to long but an over an hour is crazy and my understanding is there is only ever the one guy cooking. This place is awful. A poor attempt at classic American diner food prrpared by a crew that is better suited to wokking up Chineese take out. We tried it twice - once for breakfast and once for lunch. Wish I could give negative stars... I order through Door Dash and I like most other restaurants where they place the order Sunny's makes the Door dash driver go in and place the order. Which of course the driver initially didn't know so of course my food was late and incorrect. I called because I was charged $27 for the food I didn't received. The "employee of the year" was very rude on the phone and only placed blame on the driver instead of trying to rectify the issue. The money wasn't the issue I just wanted my food. Which wasn't all that great anyways. So I had to drive to Sunny's and the owner gave me my food but of course did not speak good English to understand or acknowledge my concern. Long story short. My husband and I went here after he saw some reviews and people said great things about it. So it is attached to a gas station. But comes in handy when you need to mail something (post office is in the gas station) and you need gas and breakfast lol BUT it was not good at all. i know when it gets slow you should not have alot of waitresses on staff. i used to be one. but there was only one girl and maybe two other tables besides us in the place. she was running around like crazy. basically saying one word and leaving before we even answered the question or commented on what she said. it was actually kind of rude. I've never had a waitress do that before. i have had ones that were to busy, un-attentivene, or too attentive. but never one who was quite so snappy and not warm or welcoming at all. i guess that's the word i'm looking for, cold. Shes one of those waitresses that only give you a smile as you are writing down their tip. The food was not so good. steak had too much fat on it. french toast was dry and did not seem like it was just made. it was cold. no butter on it at all. tastes like they made it earlier and then set it on the grill for a second and then it hit my plate. Not only that but it was dirty. It didn't look that bad on the inside as far as decorations go but it looked really dusty. and the windows ! omg they were disgusting. when i was a waitress we had to wipe all the tables, windows, window sills and everything down all day everyday. This looks like no one has taken some windex to the front door in weeks. might not seem like that big of a deal but that is the first thing customers see before they walk in, make it clean ! The food NEEDS to be made from scratch. If it is good food i dont care that i have to wait. I WILL WAIT. just make it after i order it. cause seeing these other reviews now I'm guessing it is something they do not do, make food fresh. waffle house may be greasy but atleast its warm. read more

This is not a review of the food. We showed up and it was relatively busy on a Sunday morning. There was a large open booth and a couple regular tables still needing cleaning. As there was just the two of us, we felt bad taking the booth so patiently waited for them to clean a table. Sat down and then they proceeded to sit a family at the large booth, and new customers all around us. They were all getting menus and service while we were being completely ignored. So much for doing a nice thing! Also on the atmosphere: while I was willing to overlook this place being connected to a gas station it felt much more like a dining hall inside than a diner: one big open room, huge ceilings, blank tile on the walls, etc. Will not be returning to actually sample the food. read more

Great true diner. No flash and sizzle just a nice comfortable environment, great fresh food at a great price. Classic family owned husband and wife business with friendly wait staff. Bonus it is connected to a gas station along with a Dunkin Donuts all interconnected. Sunny is the wife and Han is the husband. Han works the grill and all the cooking 100% while Sunny hustles very hard as well assisting Han and running the register. Extremely hard working immigrants who appreciate every customer and aim to please everyone. My family eats breakfast here at least 2x every week it's that good at a great price. Enjoy! read more

People who have not ate here more than once should simple not leave a review. The owners are super hardworking, never take anytime off, never hire anyone else to make the food. When I go, it's always been the same few people working the place. The few amount of workers and the high volume of people rushing in gives no one the right to give a one star because their food took a long time. The servers are frantically going about trying to take care of everyone and the owners back in the kitchen are moving at lightening speed putting the food orders together. They always look stressed out but you can tell they love their regulars and want to see all their customers leave happy. In reference to the one star review Paul left, mistakes happen in restaurants. They lost your ticket..but they were very apologetic and refused to let you pay for your meal and yet you still leave them a horrible review. Clearly, he has never worked in the food service industry. The food here has always been great, very friendly/warm service, and you cannot beat the prices as well! Yes, certain rushes, you will have to wait a longer time for your food. But the waitresses are very honest and upfront about it and will let you know before you place an order. However, the wait is always worth it knowing that I'm supporting hard working, local restaurant owners who always aim for customer satisfaction. Don't be so quick to judge. I'm struggling between giving this place 3 or 4 stars. Were I able, I would give it 3.5 Sunny's Diner is a family owned diner. They serve diner food; breakfast all day. Pork chops, meatloaf, maybe a turkey special for dinner. Close your eyes and picture a small, strip mall diner. That picture in your head? That is what this is. Should it be awarded an extra star for so closely hitting the mark it was shooting for? I'm going to say no, and leave this at 3 stars. There is nothing wrong with this place, but at the same time there is nothing exceptional. I had a custom request omlette - egg whites with ham and swiss. Not problem for the kitchen, came out perfect. My wife ordered a breakfast sandwich; it too was prepared well. My daughter got the French Toast, it was good. Service was efficient, friendly and fast. Place looked pretty clean. I did not see the restrooms. What can I say? This place reaches for the middle and finds it. It's a good break from the McWhopper scene. They aren't trying to be the hip new joint, they aren't breaking any new culinary ground. It is what it is, and what is is is 3 stars. read more

We've been looking for a no-frills, greasy spoon diner (First Watch is cool but always packed and the food is a little too pretentious for my liking). We finally found one near our home! The place is clean, the staff friendly and it wasn't packed the two Sunday afternoons we went. We were a little apprehensive since it's in a gas station but we were pleasantly surprised. Affordable, quick and yummy breakfast fare. We often come to Sunny's on Sunday mornings. We've had the two eggs with corned beef hash, pancakes with strawberries, french toast, and two eggs over medium with bacon. The eggs come with your choice of grits or hash browns and toast. Lately, they seem to be understaffed but everyone is always so friendly. The later you go in the morning, the busier it gets and the wait for a table a tad bit longer. The sausage plate is simple enough, eggs, meat (I usually get sausage), and I either get a pancake or biscuit. The food is good, it's usual diner fair: cheap, quick, greasy, and filling which is what I need before I hit the road. I wanted so much to love this place. We went in and the waitress seemed overworked, but was always around when we needed her and she did a great job of serving us. I ordered pancakes and someone with me ordered pigs in a blanket, eggs and hash browns. The eggs were pretty good and the sausage I ordered with my pancakes was great. The English muffin was lightly toasted and fresh. Now I will get to my pancakes. I ordered strawberry topping on my pancakes. They came to the table with 3 frozen thawed strawberries and some of the "sauce" from the thawing. I guess that was fine, it is a diner, I didn't expect much more, but when I went to put a fork into my pancakes, bubbles of oil came up through them. They were basically deep fried. My son's pancakes around his sausage were not oily like mine. I used three paper towels and they were still so oily I felt sick from trying to eat them. My son was refusing to eat his hash browns, so I tasted them. One of the other reviewers mentioned fishy tasting hash browns and that is exactly how they tasted. It appeared that they had been deep fried and had an old oil taste. I will finish by saying the coffee was great and so was the staff, but I cant eat there again.
