The food was really good but the wait for the food after we ordered was unacceptably long, esp for diner breakfast food. I agree with a previous customer's review - menus were not cleaned in between customers. A small annoyance - we asked for water and got spring water bottles that we were charged $1 each although that was not specified to us. Main problem here was lack of efficiency. read more

Over the past weekend I traveled from new Bedford to Norwood to try a new breakfast spot. What I discovered was breakfast heaven. I arrived around 10:30am. A lady named Ilda came over to ask if I wanted coffee, cappuccino, espresso, or tea. I started with coffee and asked for a small freshly squeezed orange juice. I decided to try the eggs benedict because it is a favorite of mine. A gentleman named Ed brought the eggs benedict over and it contained three of the loveliest eggs benedict I had ever seen. I told him I've never seen three just two. This allowed me to take one home. It was delicious as were the home fries. I looked around at some of the other tables and viewed the pancake creations and all the happy faces throughout. If you are looking for a place where the staff is kind, the food is great, and you will leave happy please go here and see Ilda and Ed. They will take great care of you. read more

This place is just bad. Went here this morning with my girlfriend for a late breakfast. The church across the street was letting out, so needless to say, there were a few more guests at this time than others. Its like this place just realized that a church was across the street cause they absolutely are not prepared for an influx of customers. No counter space to sit at, no place to wait, single people taking up space at four person tables. For starters, the two waitresses had absolutely no order or system as to what tables were theirs. I have to think that they were short handed. One took our coffee order only to disappear and serve others after us and forget she even spoke to us. Then another waitress came and asked us what we were drinking. No system. Finally after 15 minutes when the coffee was finally brought over the waitress poured our cream straight from a store bought Hood half-and-half carton...really? They advertise on the menu "largest omelettes around" so I order one. The omelette came and looked like something I could have thrown together on my stove at home. Probably two eggs worth; lifeless and looked like I ran over it with my car. Everything was burnt. The inside egg portion of the omelette was completely brown all the way around and the bacon and onions in it were charred. The small amount of home fries given were tasteless and burnt as well. The only saving grace was the toast, but we had already eaten that before we got our meal as it came 5 minutes before our food order. Never going back here again. Way too many options in Norwood and surrounding area to be bothered with a place that has no idea how to cook and serve you breakfast. Never go out of my way to really write bad reviews but it was a thoroughly unenjoyable experience. read more

It's a smallish place with about ten tables. It's the kind of place where you go when you're hungry, but you don't linger much. Yes, a breakfast place! I was running errands in Norwood and found this place on yelp. I ordered the veggie omelet with egg whites and it was DELICIOUS. It came with home fries, roast and a piece of watermelon. The home fries were not good, but I wasn't planning on eating. Them before anyway. The owner did ask if there was something wrong with them since we didn't touch them. This place was a wonderful choice for breakfast. I enjoyed a huge omelette, they called it the Farmer's omlette. It had all my favorite meats and there was plenty of cheese as well. I also got some tasty homefries that really didn't need any additional seasoning as they were quite tasty. As far as beverages do the OJ was great, my server squeezed the glass right after I ordered it and you sure could taste that. My friend got an equally great breakfast burrito. It should also be noted that each dish had a serving if very fresh fruit which was a great and yummy surprise. The coffee was quite good too:-) We both were unable to finish due to the big portions so we declined to see the dessert offerings. As soon as we walked into the Sunrise we were warmly welcomed by the owner (or so we think he was!) he was super friendly and offered us a seat next to the window. We ordered the french toast and pancake special which were delicious and overflowed the plates. The bacon was extra crispy (just how I like it) and the fruits were an added bonus. There is actually a teaser on the menu that you won't finish the special and we didn't! We wanted to but were too full. Freshly squeezed orange juice was oh so good and the prices were affordable. First I want to preface this review with the fact this is clearly a breakfast place owned and ran by an old couple... husband and wife (and maybe sister?). The husband cooks. The wife serves... and when I came in she was taking on all the tables by herself! And there was an older woman who was bussing the tables. With that said... the service was a little slow but again this woman was serving all the tables. It is a small place but it was packed - with good reason! Everyone was patiently waiting (along with myself) for whatever was next. To order, their food, or the bill. But what I didn't have to wait for was my refills or to be ask if there was anything else I needed. The *fresh squeezed oj* from a machine they pop the half sliced oranges came out (I think $3.75 ea) and omgosh! The other yelpers are right! Best OJ ever! My friend and I each had two. My friend ordered the spinach and egg white with toast. She was pleased with her light and healthy breakfast. I ordered the french toast with strawberries. The strawberries were fresh cut (love that it's not from a can!) And oh my it was buttery! I was happy with my carb of choice. I knew I was coming back because I definitely saw other things I know I want to try (eh-hem nutella filled goodness...) + note I am a food whore. Even though I got my own food in front of me I still gawk at the other tables' food as well as what walks by. And damn the smells were so good and the plates looked so delicious I was kinda jealous. To summarize!... get the oj. Understand that it may be slow but hey consider that maybe these people welcomed you into their kitchen. Because dammit it's like hot, fresh, and yummy homemade breakfast just got served. Oh and I should mention.... its cheap! On my second occasion I ordered a sausage egg and cheese and ummmm.... it was $4 and so delicious. Omg so good. I was driving through around lunchtime with my cousin and we decided to stop here for a bite around lunch. He had his heart set on a cheeseburger club and I ended up going with a BLT . The cheeseburger club was not on the menu. When he asked the server ( i think she was Eastern European from her accent) if she could make him the cheeseburger club she said that it would be no problem. We both place our orders and opted for french fries in place of home fries and asked if they could be made to be extra crispy. This also was said to be not a problem. I ordered a vegetable juice and he ordered a ginger ale which were give to us with can and glass of ice. Water was never offered, when I requested water the server brought a bottle of Poland springs which I had to request she take back and let her know that I preferred tap water( i don't like to be uncharged without approval) When our orders arrived we were both disappointed. My cousins " cheeseburger club" was a basic( 6 oz? ) originally frozen hamburger patty with cheese on a regular bun. Nothing would indicate " club sandwich ". The fries were steak fries and not crispy. They appeared and tasted to be seasoned with a seasoning salt and they had highly saturated spots and spots that were void of any seasoning. My BLT was more like a LT. I also requested american cheese and there was none in the sandwich. There was literally on piece of bacon in the sandwich. Utterly not acceptable. When the bill was presented there was no itemization and when we payed it was in credit and she had to use a "card reader square " that seemed off for an established brick and mortar restaurants. The rubber coasters were a tad tacky and seemed less than clean. I would have preferred a napkin. Everyone else was eating late breakfast as it was after 12 pm and they all appeared to be happy and the meals looked adequate. I wanted to like it more, but I didn't get that great of a plate. I absolutely love Eggs Benedict, and unfortunately I judge a lot of places off of theirs. They give you three Eggs Benedict, not a problem, but normally two is plenty. Anyways, I tasted the Hollandaise sauce and it tasted sour right off the bat. I like to think it wasn't old, but it was like 60% lemon juice. It was bland other than that. When I cut the poached eggs, the whites were still a bit undercooked and slimmy and clear. It was not very good. I ate one because I was really hungry but I didn't want to finish the other two. I finished the home fries, which are alright too. Nothing really wrong with them. I'm sure they have good food, just based off the one time I went, I don't know if I'll go back unless it was right there and convenient. read more

I've been here a few times but it's sort of hit or miss. Some things are wonderful: service, fresh OJ, poached eggs & hollandaise sauce, French toast, omelettes. However, the home fries are way too oily or greasy (maybe even a day old?), they were practically inedible. My English muffins for the eggs Benedict were too greasy as was my spinach. My tomatoes weren't ripe enough to be edible and the bacon was even off. The food would be better if the grease/oil/butter was cut back. I'd love to taste the food more. The service is always great.
