This is a great little mom and pop eatery where you can order out or sit and eat on outdoor tables. The food is good, cheap and plentiful. Cheap, quick place to eat. Cant speak to anything but the French toast, which was a little too soggy for my taste. I got a side of scrambled eggs and sausage to go with it. Eggs are standard, nothing special (remind me of Dennys eggs or along those lines), but I will say the sausage is pretty good. Makes me want to get a breakfast sandwich next time. read more

We stayed at the Mayflower Hotel and decided to stop in at this cafe the first morning of our stay. It was AMAZING!! Yes it's a small place not enough room to guarantee seating BUT it was so good! Needless to say we had breakfast there for the rest of our 4 day stay. The line goes out the door sometimes but that just confirms how good the food is! Tiny place but wonderful breakfast selections at a relatively cheap price. This place is in downtown DC and man I wouldn't expect them to offer such a good food at that price. My husband and I stopped here for a late breakfast/brunch after walking all over the mall area. Had fantastic service, and a fantastic breakfast! Loved eating outside in the quiet downtown atmosphere (we visited on a Sunday). I asked for the bacon to be crispy and they did not disappoint! Great location, good food, very friendly owner. Only4 blocks from the White House. Within 1 block of Farragut North Metro, and 3 blocks from Farragut West Metro. In same block as the Mayflower Hotel, down the street from the National Geographic Society. They're even open on weekends for early breakfast when most places are closed downtown. Also a block away and around the block from the Starbucks right above the Farragut North Metro, and across the street from Caribou Coffee House which has free wi-fi. Seating is limited being one long bar at the window with about 5 stools, or at tables and chairs outside. The place is tiny, but the food is really basic and really good, and you forget about the space once you start eating. The food is tasty, freshly prepared, easy on the pocket, and served quickly, even when lots of people are standing in line. My favorite is the BLT, but I've had the egg sandwich which I also like. Food is always served hot. I also like the gyro and cheesesteak platter. Most customers get the breakfast platter. The menu has so many variations that I can't recall them all here. I'm not doing them justice here about the food, but I've never been disappointed. Just visit once and you'll be happy you chose this place to eat. Good place on spring and summer days to sit outside and enjoy your meal. They close at about 4, so bascially a breakfast and lunch place. read more

We stopped by here this morning for breakfast. I was expecting so so food for a small hole in the wall kind of restaurant. Once again never judge a book by its cover. I had eggs over easy with sausage and pancakes. My daughter had pancakes also. The pancakes were so good you didn't even need syrup. My husband had the Greek omelette it was amazing. Yes seating is limited and it does take a bit to make, it is made when you order it, but it is so worth the wait for the food and seating. read more

I wish I could give it half a star. I am actually still sitting outside this dump ha. I am a New Yorker so maybe I'm used to better quality HOWEVER I told the women on the counter twice that I wanted over easy eggs...I got very very well done, dried up eggs. I brought them back, was calm and kind and asked for over easy. Was brought back sunny side up barely cooked, liquidy eggs. Tried to eat them but they tasty terribly undercooked. I brought them back, told her they were very under cooked and I got no response. Anyway, only ate the potatoes and wasn't offered anything else or a refund (didn't care for either anyway). Just don't order eggs here, clearly they can't cook a simple breakfast or be accommodating/kind in return considering my patience and good attitude! read more

Their claim to fame is walk-in take-out breakfast. I have to honestly say it's just food. The Western omelet seems like it had peppers and onions from a frozen bag and ham was deli meat. None of it was seasoned. Daughter had mushroom omlet and you can tell it was from a can. Prices comparable to real restaurant but food quality was palatable at best. This is a great place to order food quickly! I hardly had to wait 10 minutes and the food was okay! It could have been more tasty but the price was right! Plus when I'm in a hurry, this is the place I go! I recommend their pancakes! That's my top choice there! The eggs are usually plain and don't quite taste like anything. The hot chocolate is worth it during the winter but it is watered down. It's not a great place to eat tasty food but it's a great place to get hot food in less than 10 minutes! read more

This is a tiny shop where you order and can either eat at the few stools inside or a table outside. Food is made as you order. I had the sausage gravy over biscuits with 2 eggs and hash brown platter. The biscuits and gravy was really good, the eggs and has browns needed some salt and pepper, but outside of that the food was good and wasn't very costly. Would definitely eat there again. read more

We ate here both mornings we were in Washington DC. Pros - the food is great and good place if you are in a hurry. I noticed most of the patrons were getting their orders to go. A lot of locals grab breakfast to go. It's very reasonable too. Cons - it's not a place to go if you want to have a leisurely breakfast, which was fine for us because we were there to see the sights in DC. I'm surprised by the high ratings for this place. Yes, it is quick and offers a lot of options - and the cashiers are nice. However, the food is tasteless and not prepared well. This place is hands-down the best breakfast/lunch cafe downtown. Prices are competitive, and the quality is consistently high. I go there almost every morning for breakfast, and sometimes I'll make the trip downtown on the weekend to grab breakfast. They work so hard, too!
