This location is on the corner of Van Nuys and Sherman Way located in a giant shopping plaza. The parking lot is always jammed packed because so many other great businesses are in here like Jamba Juice, The Habit (hambergers), Pollo Campero, & more. This place is a grand market that lives up to its name of being a "Super King" of groceries. It feels vast as soon as you walk in. It has a mixture of your most American and Mexican groceries and spices. Super clean and very busy inside, which means always long check out lines.

If you are a farmers market shopper you will love Super King Market. All the options of a fresh produce market where you can touch the food but much much cheaper. The variety of produce is amazing. And it smells so fresh when you walk into the store. The store is laid out beautifully. Everything makes sense. The isles are wide. Such a pleasure to not have merchandise piled up. Everyone is always smiling and right at those moment Marvin Gaye is playing in the background. This store is amazing. Best of all, they have caviar!

Super king!!! Freshest produce!!! Huge variety. Love the deli section got cheese, smoked salmon, prosciutto, ham, turkey, sausages , caviar, delis, charcuterie good things. The meat section has everything beef, pork, lamb, chicken, organs or opals, tendon, tripes and more. Seafood section isn't that huge. Produce is stocked from Asian , Latin to middle eastern. It's pretty organized inside and the isles. The employees are helpful. You can get everything here.

Economical grocery store with many international options. They have lots of middle eastern and Mediterranean ingredients. They often have really good deals especially on produce and meats. It's definitely not high end and you get what you pay for and I mean for the prices you deal with a busy store, ok service and you bag your own groceries. They have a large alcohol section which is separate from the main area. There's a huge parking lot but unfortunately it's always packed.

Thanks for ruining my picnic. I purchased pre-packaged string cheese the day before, and by the next day I wanted to eat it, it had mold.

Market the shrimp is supposed to be 399 a pound but they charge 799

This market is routinely overcharging customer They routinely put up deceptive signs and when you try to point it out to them they refused to honor it check your receipts!!!!!

Produce department is the best thanks to Krayden!!!

Five stars for Krayden who workes in the produce department. Since I can remember shopping at Super King in both Glendale and Van Nuys, I can't recall anyone as helpful, considerate, informative, and kind. He always directs me with a sincere smile and I for a brief moment I forget that I am in a large busy groceery store. Krayden cares for customers as if he owns/manages Super King. Today, when I thanked him for his kindness, he responded "It is my pleasure, thank you for Shopping at Super King." WHAATT??????? I have yet to meet an employee at any store be so genuine. I hope this message reaches his managers and he is appreciated for the joy he brings us. Outside of my comments regarding Krayden, it is noteworthy to mention the cashiers are generally not very social or friendly. The store offers a variety of products including many Mediterranean items (a wide range of herbs and spices and competitive prices). This particular location has a major issue it should address and that is the stink coming from the meat department. I find myself holding my breath and walking quickly away from it.

This is one of the few Mitsuwa that doesn't have a food court (San Gabriel is another one without). The premade food section was surprisingly pretty good, better options than the Torrance or Santa Monica locations, imo. They do carry the same poke bowl that is also sold at Torrance. The store closes at 9:00pm, so the premade food section is pretty much cleared out and the self checkout is closed by around 8:00pm. The late hours actually got the busiest because only one staffed cash register was open and customers had to get in line instead of the self checkout. The store is clean and spacious, lots of self checkouts that are open during the day, and the bathrooms were clean (just need to get the code from a staff member!). I came three times on a weekday, once a little after lunch and another right around 5:30 and then around 8:00. Parking was a breeze every time. They have plenty of parking adjacent to the store. The other side of the shopping center gets a little busy, but Mitsuwa is at the comfortable corner closest to the train tracks. Getting out of the parking lot can be challenging because Tampa is a busy street and some people try to make a left turn out (I have my opinions about that lol). If heading out towards CSUN, the shopping center also has two exits out to Nordhoff so that worked well for me. I was in the area for a few job interviews... If I am hired nearby I'm definitely coming to this Mitsuwa a lot :)

I was expecting prices to be more expensive than usual, but I was very surprised and delighted to see that it wasn't. My goal was to get some French butter as I saw they have a huge selection of it. I found so many other items like 3 freezer full of items like pain au chocolaté and croissants made in France. All you have to do is bake it at home. They also have frozen baguettes. I got frozen pastries and I also got some French butter and their selection is massive with different flavors. I typically get this butter at the grove but this place has sooo many varieties. I also picked up Italian flour (to make pizza dough) and canned pizza sauce that they recommended. I picked up some Patata Torres chips as well. Will definitely be back to explore the store more. Definitely worth the visit if you're into cooking and like gourmet foods.

We first kind of did an overview of the whole place, checking out the bakery, the kitchen (wonderful aromas) produce, and then the canned and jarred goods. Then I worked up my courage at the kitchen and asked the guy if he could help me, because I had no idea what I was looking at, but it all looked and smelled amazing! He was so sweet and after asking, if we were vegetarians, which we weren't, he then gave us samples of two of the most popular dishes. These were both stews and had such a complexity of flavor. One is with ground walnuts, and pomegranate juice and small little meatballs, and the other was this amazing mix of herbs and greens and fava beans, which I might not normally choose, but tasted great! We ended up getting containers of those and then tried a couple different types of the rice. One had dill and other herbs in it, while the other one seemed to have lentils and maybe raisins? Once again, so good. We also got a quarter chicken and he packed them all up. It comes with this wonderful yogurt, herbed condiment. Our only mistake was not also picking up some flatbread to go with it. I picked up a chopped cucumber and tomato salad, and it's great because they have the dressing separated inside the container so it doesn't get soggy. Yes, like most places in Encino parking is going to be interesting! Their parking is directly in front of their entrance and at first it didn't look like there was anything, but then we realize there actually was. I found everybody friendly, even had some very lovely woman recommend some of the nuts and seeds to us. Speaking of which they have an enormous selection of both. I had no idea there were so many different types of sunflower seeds to name just one of the selections. In retrospect, I should've gotten some cookies! We will definitely be back, I would think it would be a great place to stock up and treat friends to an interesting set of new tastes. If you're vegetarian, they have an enormous selection as well.

My server, Luis, was outstanding throughout the visit... friendly, attentive, and always making sure I had everything I needed. His excellent service really elevated the overall experience. The highlight of my meal was easily the breakfast steak and eggs with potatoes. The steak was flavorful, prepped well, and paired perfectly with the eggs and crispy potatoes. The coffee was also very good and complemented the breakfast nicely. Before the meal, I was served a sweet bread with cream and berry topping, which was a nice touch and a tasty way to start. I also tried the skirt steak with a side salad on a different day. While the steak had some flavor, it was much heavier than expected, and unfortunately the same can be said of the side salad. The silver lining in this instance was the french baguette, which was fresh enough but nothing particularly memorable. As far as desserts, I had the tiramisu, and it was fantastic. It was light, creamy, and the perfect ending to the meal (steak and eggs). Even though not every dish was a home run. the phenomenal breakfast, excellent tiramisu, very good coffee, welcoming atmosphere, and exceptional service from Luis made this an easy place to recommend. I'll definitely be back, especially for breakfast.

This place feels authentic in the best possible way. One of our absolute favorite spots whenever we're craving real Argentine food in LA.
