This review has a caveat. Ben wasn't actually able to fix my issue, but it was my own fault. I had a problem with my dryer and Ben advised me over the phone that it was likely a vent issue. I didn't believe him so he came out and then showed me what the issue was. He did charge a minimum fee for the visit, but it was less than the fee other companies charge. My only caveat would be maybe he should let people know that he doesn't clean dryer vents out. I assumed that I could just pay him to do the work and when he came, he just referred me to another company. In general, seems like a nice honest guy. He showed up on time, and no surprises, which is better than you can say about a lot of companies that do this sort of work. read more

We pay with a credit card like everyone else, but this guy seems to dislike our military. An overdue review. Several months ago called Superior to look at our oven, which had stopped heating, and our washer, which had stopped spinning. They were able to come by the next day, arriving at the specified time. The gentleman quickly diagnosed the problems in both appliances, explained clearly what the issues were and how best to maintain each appliance moving forward, and charged a fair and reasonable price. We called Superior appliance because our Sub Zero ice maker stopped producing ice. Ben showed up on time, immediately diagnosed the issue and came back a few days later to replace the malfunctioning part. Ben took my phone call right away (which may not seem like a big deal, but 3 other calls to other repair services rolled to an answering machine and never returned our calls.. sad, but true that customer service has depreciated to a level that returning a call is considered service lol). I ended up searching Yelp for a Maytag Washer Repair service after Sears Home Repair left me very disappointed with 1) sending the wrong technician on 12/29 and 2) a no show for their appointment on 12/30. I came up with two businesses I was willing to try. Ben, the owner of Superior Appliance, was able to make it to my home the same day. Ben arrived on time, listened to our description of the issue we were having, and gave us his best guess of what was causing it. Sure enough when he started to work on the machine it was the very issue he suggested, something completely different and much less costly then the Sears Home Repair technician suggested. We ended up having to replace a part and Ben showed up the next day at the time he gave us, on New Year's Eve, with the part to finish up the job. I had to fix my refrigerator, which was getting too warm, then cooling back down, then getting too warm.... I called Sears. And their customer support was in some third-world country. I could not understand them, and they could not understand me. Tried three times, and the language barrier was so bad, I could not proceed. Called Bray & Scarff. They are local, and were ready, willing and able to do the fix, but I would have had to wait 5 days. Not bad, but I thought I would keep looking. Found this place, after a Google search. Called Thursday PM, they set the appointment for Friday PM. They arrived. They fixed it. Done within 24 hours of my phone call. One key point: I researched my issue on Google, and found that it was probably a bad thermostat. I told Superior about that - and they believed me enough to bring that part with them. That turned what would have been a two trip fix - into a one trip fix. Their charge was competitive. Not cheap, but roughly 1/5 the cost of a new fridge. My take? Support this company. - They are local, not some mega-corporation so big they have to outsource customer support to third world nations. - They are fast. No long waits while you 'deal.' - They are very nice. As I said, they believed my assessment enough to bring the part. - And finally, I believe in supporting small businesses (yes, I called Sears, and learned a lesson - I should have tried a local small business first). I had a great experience with them. Our oven went out on a Friday night. We were having a big party on Saturday night. I never expected we would find someone to come on a Saturday. Brian(the technician) came out and really impressed me by how quickly he was able to determine the issue. These guys were great. Our Jenn-Air fridge has stopped cooling sometimes, so we had them come out to take a look. They were able to accommodate our schedule and come out on a Saturday. My dryer started sounding like a mack truck. I called Superior this morning and lucky me they could come out today between 12-3pm. They called at 12:00 to say they would be here in a half hour and sure enough, they arrived on time. Mr. Zouhaier listened to the noise from my dryer and expertly took it apart. He found a couple parts that were worn out and another that was wearing out. He gave me the choice of having that replaced while the dryer was open and therefore only cost me one more part. Loved it! My washing machine broke. I called on a Saturday and was able to make an appointment for the following Wednesday. Ben gave me a time frame of 9-12. He called me a half hour before he was to arrive, which I really appreciated. He arrived within the time frame he provided. He explained what was wrong with my washing machine and what it would cost to fix it. When I spoke with him originally I gave him the model number on my machine and he anticipated what needed to be fixed. He fixed the machine quickly and I was able to do laundry again. Ben from Superior Appliance Services was fast, professional, and exceptionally courteous. The control circuit board on my refrigerator burned out, so I called and he arrived within a couple of hours, exactly when he said he would arrive. He diagnosed the problem based on my description over the phone and brought a replacement circuit board with him, so the whole repair was very quick. The total charge was $348, which is $22 cheaper than what another technician had quoted to me while warning me about others who may charge up to $500 for the same repair. Sorry to report, but Ben who answered our call about a broken refrigerator and who carefully took down our address, phone number and street address never came. I stayed home all day to wait for his company to come between 2 and 6 PM , as promised, or at least for him to call (as he said he would). He Beverly came or called. I called him back several times but he never answered and his voicemail was always full. Finally, I sent him an email. Still no response. Appliance repair can often be a nightmare, but thank goodness for Superior Appliance and Mohammed! Based on the feedback I saw in Yelp, I called them when my Bosch refrigerator broke. Mohammed came the same day to diagnose the problem, then kindly advised me on the quickest (and, as it happens, economical) way to get the part (control board) I needed. He came back within one business day after the part arrived and did the installation quickly and efficiently. What a pro! Thank you, Mohammed! Our dryer was making some loud squeaky noises, and then stopped rotating (but we could still hear the motor going). Superior Appliance Services was recommended as they work on Spacesaver W/D units (stacked/combined). I called the number listed, and Ben called me back within 3 hours. He said he could get a guy out in two days - $50 for the visit, which would then be deducted from any work done. I was hoping for the next day, but I understand that's not always possible. Ben initially said 10am-2pm and was flexible when I noted our 1 year old usually sleeps around 1pm, so earlier would be great -- he adjusted to 9am-1pm. Zou arrived around 12:40pm, after calling about an hour before he arrived. I mentioned that our 1 year old was already asleep, and he did his best to be quiet while he was working on our dryer. I was really impressed by his consideration. He gave me updates as he was working on the dryer. Luckily it was a pretty simple fix overall (remove the panels and dryer drum, put the belt back on, and grease the bearing), and no parts were needed at this time. We did have to call Ben back to re-confirm the price, but he answered the phone immediately, spoke with Zou, and all was fine. I would use them again for repair based on our experience today. read more

The tech called when he was on his way, arrived well within the arrival window, and fixed our non-functioning range with the correct part. They have a 1 yr warranty on all work. Had a seemingly fine interaction with Superior until the problem they identified (after 3 minutes of inspection), was not indeed the problem! Fast forward two weeks and the problem has been truly identified by someone that took the time to inspect the area around the dishwasher and show what the problem really was. It is fine if you do not know the problem; it is NOT fine when you identify the wrong problem, charge me for the misidentification, and try to charge me for a part (that, turns out, I don't need!) and is more money than purchasing a new dishwasher. He called back within 20 minutes and was able to come to my house by 11 a.m. that morning. Based on the other reviews, I called this company. They were very responsive and came out the next day to fix my dryer. However, it has been over a month and more than 5 visits to our home - DRYER STILL DOESN"T WORK. The dryer is actually worse now than before they came out to fix it. Also, the carpet in front of our dryer is now covered in grease spots. The man on the phone is very nice and polite however the execution is terrible. Do not use them to fix your dryer!! read more

I have an old stackable washer and dryer. Several months ago the dryer broke. Saif was here that day to fix it. Last month the washer stopped, full of water. They were very responsive and came the day after I called. Yesterday the washer stopped again. I called this am and Saif was here several hours later, replaced the piece--no charge. Ben was super helpful in diagnosing what was wrong with my fridge. I wish I had called him sooner. The fridge part stopped cooling but the freezer was still working. I had called my fridge manufacturer who wanted me to use an authorized repair center which all had bad reviews and no websites. This led me to yelp. Ben found the problem in minutes and provided a temporary to possibly permanent fix. I called and sent his company an email on a Sunday evening and he promptly called back Monday morning and had availability and was able to come out that day. He was also easy to coordinate a meeting time and gives you a call when he's on his way. Even though the fix took all of about 15 minutes and cost $75, it was well worth it as it meant having to take less time off from work and less hassle with those authorized repair centers. read more

BEST EXPERIENCE WITH A REPAIR SERVICE EVER! Our Maytag washing machine broke over the weekend and we scheduled a visit online with Superior Appliance Services for today (just 3 days later due to my own availability). We were given a visit window from 3-6 pm and I was SO pleased to have Mohammad arrive at my home exactly at 3pm. He even called when he was about 20 minutes out, as requested, which gave me peace of mind since I was leaving work early. He was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and fast. Within one hour he had identified the problem, fixed the problem, and tested the washing machine. He even told me that if I receive the error code again in the near future I will likely have to purchase a new motor and then he went above and beyond to look up the cost of the motor and provide me with an estimate for the cost of that replacement labor as well. In the end, I spent one hour and $60 to save our current washing machine (well worth it!!) and am armed with the knowledge that if I receive this error code again I know what the problem is and how to solve it.
