Best donuts in San Clemente! Fresh squeezed orange juice. Raised donuts are spectacular. Cake donuts are world class. Our grandsons love the sprinkled donut holes. The old fashioned donuts are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Absolutely fantastic donuts!

SURFIN' DONUTS @ SAN CLEMENTE The parking lot here is very small, but there is free street parking available alongside the road. We arrived early around 9 AM, and most of the donuts were already selling out. There was a line out the door and parking was pretty packed, so I definitely recommend coming as early as you can. This spot has been a staple for my friends for years, so I finally had to try it out. Even though the line was long, it moved pretty quickly. The staff is super friendly, and all of the donuts are made fresh every single morning. They open around 4 AM and usually close once they sell out, typically before 2 PM. We ordered their iconic blueberry glazed donut, which is a must-try if you're a blueberry fan. Each donut was about two dollars, and we grabbed a few. They also offer breakfast sandwiches, donut holes, and tons of fun donut flavors to choose from. The inside and overall ambiance are more on the older side, it feels like a classic donut shop you and your family might've gone to years ago. They have some indoor seating, but most of the tables are outside. It's a great area to stop by, especially if you're on the way to San Clemente and want some yummy donuts. I really enjoyed the fresh glazed donuts in the morning and would definitely recommend visiting.

Honestly, it's been years since I've gone over to surfin donuts. A legendary place in town. Easy to get to off the five or El Camino Real. It does have parking although it can get filled up with people who park there that go over to SC Café. I came in today for two donuts and an iced coffee both were reasonably priced. They use Monin syrups. The cake crumb doughnut was delicious, light and crumbly. The service is really fast and friendly. Cool beach vibe classic donut shop place. I'll have to come back soon and try to have breakfast sandwich.

Love this spot so much. Every time we come down to San O to surf we always need to make a stop at surfin donuts. Amazing donuts, fresh oj, great espresso and coffee with lots of flavor options. What's not to love? Also be sure to try their ham and cheese bagels, they are amazing especially when fresh. They have a decently sized parking lot as well which is usually easy to get a spot. On a busy morning you might have to park in the street but it's easy.

Donut case! Rumor has it they're sold out by noon.

We were told this was an "institution" so how could we not get some donuts? Quick and prompt service. Very large selection of donuts all fresh and delish. We had maple bars, chocolate glazed, and my fave a blueberry. The chai espresso lattes were very very good and better priced than Starbucks. We went several mornings in a row for coffee. The vibe is local and kind of "if you know, you know." Plenty of outdoor seating at benches and around back. There was very swift business in and out. Lots of fun people watching with families, dogs, and surfers all grabbing their grub.

Okay, I love Apple fritters And my friend and I discovered we had this in common. She raved about this spot but I always forget when I'm driving by (from San Diego or Santa Barbara). Today she brought me one and oh myyyyyyyyy. She wasn't kidding. Sometimes you get Apple fritters that are doughy or gooey in the middle because they haven't cooked through and those are my least favorite. These are crunchy on outside and perfect on the inside. Even after the drive from san Clemente to carlsbad they are better than any Apple fritter I have had in years. I see this potentially becoming a problem. So good and wait! What? There's blueberry too? Have to go to San Juan Capistrano on Tuesday I see blueberry in my future!!

My wife and I go here every Saturday. We've made it our weekend "thing". The donuts are always fresh and are amazingly good. I love their old fashioned donuts. And they always have a great selection of coffee. The only downside is that the breakfast sandwiches sell out quick. Highly recommended to anyone in search of a calm spot to enjoy a quick and tasty breakfast. read more

Coming here for a very long time. Last time I came I bought a bunch of donuts for me and my family. When we arrived at our destination we went to eat our donuts, and mine wasn't there. So the next time I went in there I mentioned it, nicely thinking they would just remember me and give me a donut that they owed me. I would always leave nice tips too. They girl just tells me they are sorry, and nothing else. It was not even worth saying anything at that point. I guess they would rather have me not shop there then give me a doughnut. Bad customer service if you ask me. There was no obligation to take my word for it. Still...with no offer replace the donut or a refund, I knew I was done supporting the business. It kind of stunk to not have anything to eat the last time...but then it stunk even more that they just don't care to replace a loyal customers donut (that probably costs them .50 cents to produce). Check your bag before you leave and make sure you got everything when you go. I was very disappointed. read more

Stopped in for a coffee and croissant, I was impressed. A step above your run of the mill donut shop. Donuts are fresh and made with their own spin. Blueberry cake donut is crispy and light. I got a jalapeño ham n cheese croissant. Hit the spot! Perfect amount of spicy. Coffee is high quality, and the staff are friendly and efficient. Make this a stop. read more

Happened to stop in Mission Viejo on a drive back home to NorCal and stumbled upon Surfin' Donuts thinking it was just your typical neighborhood donut/bagel shop, but to my surprise they had breakfast burritos!! Of course I got my dose of maple donut, which was great, but I ordered the veggie burrito and it was awesome!! Their house coffee is pretty good too. Definitely recommend! read more

I just drove in from San Diego and realized that I left my purse but I had a large bill in my pocket and they were able to break it this early in the morning. I found this place by accident, but remembered hearing about it while looking for breakfast places in San Clemente. Since it was a 2 minute walk from our hotel, I proceeded to eat 3 meals there in a 4 day span. The first day I got a cinnamon roll and a sausage breakfast sandwich for the other half. The cinnamon roll had good flavor, but needed to be warmed in the microwave for the sake of texture. The sausage breakfast sandwich looked pretty good, although a little pricy at $5.50 for 2 eggs, some cheese and sausage links sliced on white bread. The second day I swung by for a maple bar, which was light and airy, and didn't have that distinct grocery store taste. On the third round, I grabbed another maple bar, as well as 2 pancakes. The pancakes were large, tasty, and cheap as my whole meal cost me $3.95. I am going back to San Clemente in a week, and will definitely make the walk to Surfin Donuts. *** I should also note that I went to the newer location at 202 North El Camino Real in Downtown San Clemente. read more

I went in here because it was right by my hotel. There is a huge selection. I got the Tigers tail. Which I tell you was so fresh and so soft. I never had a donut so soft in my life before. It was yummy. I'm glad we got there when we did because there was no line or wait. Staff if helpful and friendly! read more

This was simply the best donut I have ever had in my life. Far superior to every other little donut stand you will come across in SoCal, and better than the sugar pucks that pass for donuts at Krispy Kreme. It is not much of a place, with very little organization, little indoor seating, and some outdoors, so not a place to hang. Service was good, not great, but the food makes up for what seems to be a lack of focus on the customers. read more

We stumbled upon this place on our way home from Legoland. We were blown away by the quality and quantity of the food. Everything tasted great. I especially liked the chicken tortilla soup and turkey sandwich. The soup had chunks of chicken and veggies topped off with sourcream and tortilla chips. Rather straight to toaster before giving to customer.

Chris, the person behind the counter, was extremely friendly and courteous. He engaged with me as I reminisced about my Donut Hut glory days. Apparently, the establishment has changed hands at least once in the last 10 years. The service was awesome and the donuts were excellent. It seemed as though Donut Hut had been newly refurbished. It was clean and tastefully adorned. I firmly believe that Donut Hut is on solid ground to meet your donut cravings for the next millennia and beyond!

Could not admit her fault at all and called me a liar, so I asked for a refund. Took them 10 minutes to find it and I just walked out without getting one. Moral of the story: don't come here, the service is terrible and they microwave their bacon. Will never be back.

Dave and Dani have known our family since before our kids were even born. Dave is basically a big kid himself (especially when it comes to cars) and somehow always finds ways to surprise my kids with random little toys -- the kind of moments kids remember forever. I grew up in a small town in Virginia, out of my own mom's deli and convenience store -- where locals gathered over coffee, the Washington Post (and yes... cigarettes back then ). Living on the West Coast without family nearby, Niguel Bakery & Donuts gives me that same feeling of home. This is a place where kids can still feel safe like the old days -- riding bikes with friends, scraping together change for a snack... and if they're a little short and have been on their best behavior, Dave and Dani might just take care of them anyway. That kind of generosity can't be taught -- it's who they are. It's an East Coast bodega-style bakery/deli, right here in Laguna Niguel, and they don't just talk about community -- they show it through the countless non-profit events, food donations, and local causes they support. 500 stars, if I could. High Tide Coffee officially became…read morepart of my PhD defense victory saga. The night before my dissertation defense, I ordered a 96 oz coffee (joe-to-go) to go with a note saying I was defending my PhD (preemptively apologizing if I looked like a frazzled raccoon and worried anyone on accident while picking up). When I walked in at 7:45 AM (15 min earlier than my pick up time, bc anxiety), the staff immediately complimented my defense outfit -- instant confidence boost -- and when I said I was the person picking up "lots of coffee," they led me to the coffee, already packed and ready :') They all wished me good luck with the warmest, most dazzling smiles. They even included a note that said, "You got this~!" which I kept in front of me during my defense. (see photo) And I passed!!! Also, they gave me half-and-half and oat milk?? In this economy?? Oat milk is basically liquid gold. I felt so loved. So caffeinated. So non-dairy option supported. Usually after defenses, there is leftover coffee that people are trying to give away. But me and High Tide Coffee? No sir. No leftovers. One of my committee members had about 4-5 cups, and I am not exaggerating., (Even in a field that basically runs on coffee, academics are running on caffeine.... and wine, so a room of 12 people, not all drinking coffee, and still finishing 96 oz of coffee is a record.) Thank you, High Tide, for the excellent coffee, the kindness, the emotional support, and the very necessary academic bean juice. I am officially glad I chose you to help caffeinate the most important morning of my PhD. and thank you again for supporting me emotionally and caffeine-induced confidence :)

Cashier was so kind and patient even though I was so indecisive, so I definitely appreciate that! What I ordered: -Lavender Honey Matcha: I got this with oat milk and it tasted like water with sweet lavender flavoring, couldn't really taste the matcha. 2/5 My cousins and I weren't very impressed by the drinks here. We all got matcha so I'm thinking maybe their coffee is better because the place was busy. I probs wouldn't come back, and if I did I'd give the coffee a chance.

By the time we got there (around 10am) it was packed and the rain was just picking up because before we got here, the car in front of us hydroplane and skid off the road and hit the curb. Yet, this place was still pack and parking was full. (We found street parking near Starbucks) I had my staff placed our name down since she lives closer, but they won't see you until all your party is here and that's fine. We ended up seating at the bar and left the booth for other parties. Love the teamwork, the staff were super stars doing a rush like that, let me tell you it PACKED HOUSE and we got our food and drinks on time, no one in my party had to wait to eat and I forgot to take pictures of my staff meals, only took mines and what I got for the table to share was a croissant french toast, which I believe was their special of the day. I got the chicken fried steak and the portion are MASSIVE!!! All of us took our food home because the portion size are insanely big and bang for the buck!! Great place to eat breakfast or brunch or even a 'Team Building Breakfast Time' LOL Just happy to treating out my amazing staff on their work. I will be coming back again to try out their lox bagels and chai tea. (It was in a massive cup that reminds me of the show FRIENDS.)

I happened to be seated nearby during an interaction with a group of women who were openly rude and condescending toward her from the start. Despite that, she remained calm, polite, and handled herself with grace. If anything, she showed remarkable composure under unnecessary pressure. Service jobs aren't easy, and it's disappointing when unfair situations get misrepresented online. Based on what I personally observed, Tatum did nothing but her job and did it well. Highly recommend The Cellar for the food, wine, atmosphere, and overall experience. We'll absolutely be back.

Ewwww I got a ham egg and cheese croissant, they pack It with gross ham, only put 1 super thin layer of egg that had black kernels of char in it so freaking gross biting into to those. 2 bites I took and threw it out and had to swish my mouth with Starbucks coffee to get that char taste to go away. $7 wasted. I would have paid $20 to not have that experience. Made me almost throw up read more

The sprinkle donuts are the best I've ever had. Me and my kids come down here weekly for a beach day, and I have never had such a good sprinkle donut! Although there are too many sprinkles in my opinion, but the donut is amazing. The bottom is kind of crunchy, perfect texture. Never had better.
