Servers were nice and overall vibes were great. I think with Asian fusion places it's hard to balance the bold Asian flavors and meld it with American classics. I felt like the Korean dishes were just okay flavor wise - seafood pancake was a new item that we tried, but I think overall I prefer the more traditional Korean restaurant seafood pancake. I also ordered the MBLT wrap which I thought would taste more "fusion" since it included the millionaire's bacon but it was truly just a wrap with the standard American ingredients. My absolute favorite item we ordered was the Millionaire's Candy. I am a sucker for sweet and savory items and this was so so delicious. If you like your food on the sweeter side, this candied bacon is absolutely for you. I could eat an entire tray of that. I'll have to come back to try other main menu items. I've been here for brunch twice and for dinner takeout once. I recommend their brunch. There is a lot of indoor and outdoor seating, but it was already very busy for brunch when we arrived. My friend was so jealous of my Blueberry Stuffed Crunch French Toast, she wished she had ordered it. It was so good! Highly recommended! The Korean Fried Chicken Wings are huge. The regular entrée size is a huge serving (12 big wings), so I did half and half: Sweet and Spicy flavor was best. Sesame Miso was so-so. When I visited during early dinnertime, it was quiet. My family's go-to for special occasions! We went on Father's day right at 5pm and it wasn't too busy throughout the entire time we were there. The service was fast since we ordered before all other parties, and the dark-ish atmosphere elevated the place. Street parking can be tricky, but there are paid garages nearby. Everything was delicious! We always get the Pimped Up Ramyun and Korean Fried Chicken when we're here. We had really high hopes for Surisan, but our experience (from food to service) just fell flat on its face. Let's start with the food. The food was good, but there were glaring issues, which really just overshadowed everything else on the plate. First, my cappuccino came out looking very poorly made. I've seen pictures of other people's cappuccino with designs. Mine looked like the marshmallow man took a dump on my expresso. It tasted okay. Second, the eggs Benedict had some of the hardest English muffin we've ever experienced. Kind of like it was made an hour ago and just reheated, but it became too hard to really enjoy the way Benedict's are intended. Lastly, the French toast was fine, pretty good, but not worth the price. Let's talk about the service, or the lackluster attempt for service. People just didn't seem to care. Never were we checked in on, despite others being checked in on. Servers just walking away or providing us with service as if it was a huge hassle. Although, as we were walking out, the person outside was nice and smiled at us as we walked out. The restaurant looked fine. During brunch service, if you walked to the restroom, you'd see many employees sitting around on their phones seemingly very dejected from really working. Our group of 14 came to Surisan to celebrate a birthday - we had a reservation and the max they have available for reservation online is 10, so we had called ahead to let them know we have a larger party, but it seems there may have bene a slight miscommunication. Despite that the service was kind and they helped put together some extra tables/chairs so we could all be seated together. We opted to do the bottomless mimosa ($25/person for 1 hour), and though they had said only the classic mimosa was available for bottomless, they ended up also giving us some of the pomegranate mimosa that we were hoping to try, which we really appreciated! I got the blueberry crunch french toast and the galbijiim eggs benedict to split with a friend, and the french toast was nice and crisp without being heavy, and was surpringly not too sweet. The galbijiim eggs benedict on the other hand was a lot of food and a bit heavy, and I'm glad we split it. I can't believe this is the first time I have tried this place. Service was incredible, ambiance was clean and modern, and the overall experience was amazing. We started with the ube matcha latte, which reminded me of a taro milk tea - amazing. Next we had the Pimped Up Ramyun. Nice, slightly spicy noodles, tossed with veggies and topped with a fried egg and millionaires bacon - delicious. The most underwhelming item was the Galbi Sando. The meat was tasty and the eggs were fluffy; however, the sandwich was very soggy and the entire sandwich fell apart immediately (would not order this again). Lastly, the Korean fried chicken was probably some of the best fried chicken I have ever had. We got the soy garlic on the side (highly recommend this), and it was fantastic. I have been here twice now with 2 years in between visits and I can confidently say the quality of the food has not changed. My first trip was on a girls trip and out of all the restaurants we visited, Surisan had left the biggest impression on me. My most recent visit was for my husband and I's mini moon and I told him I definitely wanted to revisit Surisan and I am so glad we did! After much deciding over the menu, I finally went with the Florentine Benedict and he got the Belly Bap, both of which did not disappoint! I am a lover of all things Eggs Benedict, but I have to say that hands down this was the best one I've had to date. Something to do with their lemony hollandaise sauce and tomatoes along with their perfectly cooked poached egg just makes a perfect Benedict. As for my husband, he absolutely loved the Belly Bap which seems simple at first - braised pork belly over a bed of rice with a fried egg on top - but the way that the pork belly was flavored and seemed to melt in your mouth really made it the highlight of our breakfast. Really, anything with pork on the menu seems to be a hit! I would definitely recommend coming again and I will definitely be dropping by the next time I find myself visiting the Bay Area. read more

Once we got there, they immediately sat us and gave us the menu. We ordered the surisan scrambled and the blueberry stuffed crunched french toast. The scrambled eggs were AMAZING, among the top 3 I've had on SF. The veggies were cooked, but still tasted fresh and the avocado was integrated perfectly. It was my first time trying the popover, and wow I was amazed. Loved the cinnamon flavor that predominated in it. The french toast was also very good, I had tried it before, and it tasted exactly how I remembered. It had the perfect amount of stuffing inside and crunch to it on the outside. Even though it was crunchy outside, the inside was very fluffy. For drinks, I had the iced ube latte, which in my opinion was ok, but also unique. The ube overpowered the coffee taste, which is not my favorite thing, I like the coffee to be the predominant flavor. Overall, would revisit 100%. It a nice spot, they have outdoor sitting, which is pet friendly, and the staff is very attentive. Important to say that due to the location it's on the pricier side, but it's worth the money. What a fun birthday brunch! My companion enjoys dining at Surisan and I've always wanted to go with him. For my birthday, I asked if we could go and it was a wonderful time. He made reservations and with my birthday being on a weekday, we were the only customers outside. The outside patio is nice, and spacious, with lots of plants, and sun and shade. We sat here because we had the pup. The inside of the restaurant is well-sized, casual, and contemporary. A nice place for all party sizes! Our waiter was great, he took care of us and the pup, our food and drinks came out quite fast, and we appreciated the complimentary items. As a seafood lover, I ordered the Sailor's Scramble with No Parmesan. It was delicious, a mix of savory and sweet, and came with a good portion of seafood. Companion had the Surisan Scramble, I had a bite and enjoyed it! I'd order mine again in a heartbeat. Thank you Surisan for being a special place to celebrate my birthday! I have been dying to try bulgogi beef since I first read about it online and saw it on YouTube. When asking for SF food recommendations, one of my friends recommended Asian. I found this place online and, based on the reviews and pics, knew my husband and I had to try it. The restaurant itself is very nice. It has an intimate atmosphere. The music is not too loud and they play a variety of songs. For example, when we went, they were playing ABBA, Twenty One Pilots, etc. On to the main attraction: the food. We ordered the bulgogi nachos for an appetizer. The bulgogi was so juicy and tender, with a buttery and sweet texture! I told my husband I want to make it when we get home. The cherry and jalapeño peppers added a nice kick and same goes for the salsa. The cheese sauce tasted like real cheese, not the processed stuff you get at sports games, etc. The tortilla chips were fresh, crispy, and thick. For dinner, I ordered the sweet crispy tofu tacos, which come with red and green salsa, fries, and ketchup. I have had Korean tacos before, but these are the best I've had! The tofu was perfectly crisp, well-seasoned, and complemented by the spicy and tangy mayo. The avocado, lettuce, red onion, and tomato were fresh, further adding to the deliciousness. The avocado tasted like it had sugar in it, which I've never tasted before in avocado, but it works! The corn tortillas were very addicting. Like the tofu, the fries were perfectly crisp and well-seasoned. I wish I had not eaten lunch earlier in the day, because I could have eaten every bit of this entree! My husband ordered the large size of the Korean fried chicken and, on a funny note, did not expect to get so much. Regardless, he loved the chicken, although he was unable to finish it all. When I saw Millionaire's bacon on the menu, I just had to look into it and yes, the executive check Nick Yoon also operated Berkeley Social Club and other similar restaurants. I came here for a 9am Valentine's Day brunch and there were still plenty of tables available. I ordered the Bulgogi Japchae Rice which comes in a cast iron pan so the rice at the bottom gets slightly crispy which I love. The flavor was excellent and not too salty. I also shared fries which were super crispy and wonderfully seasoned. I think all of the food came out within 10 minutes of ordering (all at once!) which was shockingly speedy, so I think they probably had large batches of items prepped in advance for the anticipated busy day. In addition to taste, the presentation of the dishes were appetizing and picture-worthy. Overall, I had a great experience here. Service was good and attentive when needed. Army Tofu Soup: Warm, hearty, and comforting which is perfect for SF weather. Definitely a dish I'd order again. Korean Fried Chicken (Soy Garlic): The star of the night! Juicy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I could eat this again and again. Bulgogi Nachos: My least favorite. The fusion didn't really work for me. The American-style nacho cheese with bulgogi felt heavy and tiring after a few bites. I'd probably skip this next time. Overall, Surisan is a really cute spot with tasty dishes. Service was very fast for both the food and our bottomless mimosas. I ordered the belly bap and it came with a good portion of pork belly. No complaints about the dish, I liked the sauce and furikake that was on the dish, but definitely not mind blowing. I also got to try the chicken cup bap, which I wish I had ordered. You can definitely taste the "Shin" cup noodle flavor and it was balanced well with the cheese sauce. Surisan was our first stop on our recent trip to SF to celebrate my husband's birthday. It was a Tuesday and we wanted a good brunch spot, so we hopped off the plane & headed to Surisan. We've had this place bookmarked on our list for awhile, and it did not disappoint! We made a reservation on Yelp (just in case), but with it being during the week, they were not super busy. We were seated right away and started with some fancy drinks. My husband got the iced strawberry matcha and I had the passion fruit sour made with soju which was very tasty. For food, we decided to share a few plates including the blueberry stuffed crunch French toast, 6 honey butter Korean fried chicken wings, and the pimped up ramyun. These 3 dishes were very generous potions and more than enough food for us to share. The slice of millionaire's bacon that is served with the ramyun really is incredible. This bacon is pricey, but after trying one slice I can see why. It definitely left us wanting more. The wings were perfectly crispy and the French toast was also amazing. It comes with a caramel drizzle and is stuffed with mascarpone cheese and fresh blueberries. Yum! It was fun to explore and walk around the Fisherman's Wharf area afterwards, too.
