I've been looking for a sushi place close to my work and I think I found the one! Really fresh fish and they are definitely not skimpy on it either! I got mine to go but service was still really good. Been to a few places where they won't even acknowledge you when you enter. Will definitely come back :) 3/4/17: This has been my go to spot whenever I was craving sushi for lunch. After always going here by myself, I finally brought my husband with me for dinner. It was nice to see the place busy! Although we liked the rolls we received, I was very unhappy with our server. After giving us our first order, she was then nowhere to be found for a good fifteen minutes. All of us in the corner, which were her tables, kept looking around hoping to get someone to help us. One of the things that also stood out to me was she drop off some nigiri at the table to the left of us and then I saw them kind of touch and investigate it with their chopsticks before they moved it away. Then for the fifteen minutes we didn't see her, the nigiri was left untouched. When she finally made an appearance, the table let her know that they had not ordered that. She then took that order and asked this other table if they ordered it, they said yes, and she gives it to them! Ummmmmm disgusting!! Other people's chopsticks had already touched it and don't forget its nigiri and had been sitting at the other table for 15 minutes! I've never seen this server before, and I definitely don't want her ever again. Also, we never received half the stuff we ordered. We kept asking for it, and also kept getting other people's orders. It was just a mess. This was the first time I've actually eaten at their tables, I'm normally at the bar and I can see them make it and it's given to me right away. Of course I'll give them another chance, as I've been going here at least twice a month. But never again will I want that server. Yes, mistakes happen and places can be busy. This is the second time we have gone here and both times we were seated and served very quickly. The first time the house was packed and they were able to accommodate our party size. Today it was a slow time and food started coming out as soon as we placed the ticket. It was like the sushi chefs were listening to us as we wrote our order down. Literally the fastest we have ever been served at a sushi restaurant. The only reason I didn't give a five star was both times they missed something on the ticket. Consistent, fast, friendly, and delicious. They are so kind and always handle our orders with a sense of urgency. I've order large orders of $200 or more and orders of about $50 and they are always ready in about 20 mins. Atmosphere - Part of a small strip mall. AYCE sushi can be done at the tables which is nice when you have a group of four. Food Drinks - Just water, I had enough beer earlier in the night. Appetizers - My wife loves the gyozas. We started with two orders of them, and another two orders later in the night. They are either fly fried or deep fried, either way they were good. Somehow I missed them in the pics I took. Dinner - I have no clue what rolls I was eating. The three ladies were ordering away. I loved all the rolls they ordered. They mixed up the type of rolls up. Even some nigiri, the yellow tail varied in color while the octopus was solid while and consistent. Service - I think we had every floor runner working our table which was nice. I'm always up for trying a new sushi spot, and I've eaten at just about all of them. I hadn't been in to Sushi 7 after my last encounter with them several years ago, so I decided to give it another chance. I came here, hesitantly of course, with a friend of mine who's a big fan and asked to grab lunch. I started by ordering yellowtail and seared tuna nigiri and when it arrived, I could tell just by looking something was off. The fish was mealy and had an off flavor and color, the yellowtail was actually yellow? I tried a few other rolls and handrolls, and but anything with raw fish definitely had something funky going on. Their crystal shrimp looked and tasted like the overcooked crumbs scooped out of the fryer. Since I couldn't eat raw fish, I ate some cooked and deep fried rolls, which I rarely do. The deep fried rolls tasted like every other deep fried roll I ever had before, and the cooked ones as well. Nothing amazing, but at least palatable. The saving grace was the salmon skin handroll. Surprisingly perfectly cooked and delicious. I should've made a meal of these! Verdict: this sushi fiend will not be eating at 7 again, and if you like Sushi, avoid it! read more

Let me start by saying there is no 5 star sushi in Reno. We sat at the bar and the sushi chef did a great job responding to our likes and dislikes, and letting us know what was good that night. This place, now under new management (the people who started hiroba years ago then sold it) , is easily one of my fav sushi spots in town. First off I should mention they have high quality habanero paste. I always get the spiciest spicy tuna handroll they can make when I go to sushi, and some places just have to pour in a crap ton of chili powder, then the roll is dark red and tastes nothing like the fish anymore, some places pathetically only have Sriracha (which only gets to about a 3 on the spicy scale and once again that's with nuking the flavor), then a very small handful of places shell out for the high grade habanero. It'll make you sweat and flush and turn red without just making your mouth hurt. Moving on, the service, staff, chefs, food quality, all top notch and they have a great menu. read more

I have visited Sushi 7 a few times, and each time the experience was okay. The service is consistently good but the sushi rolls are consistently inconsistent. In one night, you can order the same roll many times and it will look and taste pretty different each time. During my most recent visit, I felt that more rolls had rice that completely fell apart than stuck together and I thought the overall presentation was pretty sloppy. Our table ordered some nigiri and the fish just didn't look very healthy. Presentation isn't everything, but it does help. A majority of the rolls we tasted were pretty good, but a few were unpleasant. I highly recommend trying the Yummy and the Truckee. Bonus: check in on Yelp! and get 10% off your order! To me, Sushi 7 is a good place to stop in for a roll or two, but I probably won't come back for AYCE. I feel like Reno has a LOT of sushi options and if I'm going to get AYCE, I'm going to get something that is consistently great - not a hit or miss. read more

I've been here a few times, and each time it's a pleasurable experience. This last time, the guy who was helping me (Eric I think his name was), he was super attentive and often asked me what roll I wanted next before finishing the ones currently in front of me. The sushi was good, but it wasn't the most amazing one I've eaten. The sushi was a little warm and the rolls were a little loose. The pieces of fish were decent sized. In the Valpak mailers that are sent there is a coupon for $2 off dinner every now and then, so going here is at least $2 more affordable than other places. The owner of this place does not care about your health ladies and gentlemen. The sushi here made my stomach hurt and I told the owner its the fact that there is no menu explaining what's inside the sushi at all so they served tempura shrimp on every salmon roll I got (I was only able to see the top) it was a terrible experience! Everything was unpleasant all the food and talking to the manager who is also the owner while he showed no care whatsoever just smirked and gave me ten dollars off like a Desperate business owner That couldn't afford one less paid meal, lame. Sushi 7 is a really nice sushi place here in Reno. They have options to sit at the bar and at a table in their dining room. They have a wide variety of rolls, both cooked and raw. In addition, they have some really good appetizers with all-you-can eat (my favorite being the mussels)! One of few sushi restaurants that allows you to customize rolls!! When going with friends, the only downside would be the waiters/waitresses not knowing which roll is which, since sometimes more than one roll is on the plate. Overall a really nice sushi place in Reno and would recommend to all sushi lovers! read more

My favorite Sushi place in town. Love their mussels and their rolls. They customize anything you ask and make great surprise rolls of you ask them to. I have gone here for years even since management changed. It's nice that they also have bento boxes so that you can get together with a group and if they don't prefer sushi, they can have something else. My kids like the food too and my toddlers even love to take bites of my sushi. Definitely recommend it. Other places in town won't include as much in their all you can eat menu so you really get a good deal for what you pay. The parking can be tight in the complex but it's a great location. My favorite rolls are the Carson City and the Yummy. We also love the Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse. My husband loves tuna and I love Salmon so this place is a great compromise to get what we both want thanks to the variety. read more

Good sushi, the menu was a little hard to follow. Online it shows the menu with pictures, we did not receive that. Sushi is so visual that would be helpful. Seems when I go to sushi there is always at least one inexperienced Sushi eater at the table so the pictures are extremely helpful. Everything was fresh and yummy. One cooked roll came out with pretty raw salmon which is extremely dangerous when someone has allergies to raw protein. We did not receive a menu explaining any appetizers or dessert included in the all-you-can-eat price. It was up to us to ask questions about what else we could order. We came in at 8 and closing time must have been 9 because we felt pretty rushed at the end, all the cleanup and tables were closed up around us as we were trying to eat. read more

I really REALLY shy away from all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants but we had just arrived at the Reno airport and were starving and happened upon it. And shockingly, all-you-can eat for $20! All the reviews are correct, the sushi isn't great at all. However, my philosophy at lower level sushi places is stick to rolls. It's harder to mess fish up when you've got a bunch of sauce or deep fried shrimp or avocado involved. Also notable was the wait staff; very attentive without being annoyingly so. I've tried nearly all of the sushi places I could find in Reno. This specific establishment has been my absolute favorite and keeps drawing me back, I am certainly a return customer and I eat here semi-regularly. Their sushi is the freshest and has the most delicious flavor profile of any sushi place in the Reno- Tahoe area, and the tables, bathrooms, and bars are always spotless and extremely well sanitized. Their all you can eat menu has a huge variety that most restaurants don't offer, and the waiters and waitresses are always very polite and attentive. The appetizers always come out fast, the sushi comes out fast, and I've only waited a slightly uncomfortable time for the bill to come back a very small number of times (which is a pet peeve I often have with restaurants, at the end of a meal you're tired and just want to get your card back and go!) I am a little sad the all you can eat dinner price recently raised, but I understand the price is high for the high quality, fresh ingredients that sets this place apart from other restaurants. When I moved from a big city to the biggest little city I was a little worried that they wouldn't have the quality of sushi that I was used to, but thank god for Sushi 7! read more
