This place was simply amazing! I went here for a late lunch with my brother and boyfriend and the staff were so nice and the food was pretty rocking. The rolls were absolutely wonderful too! The menu is decently priced and the portions were good. And the waiter was a total sweetheart. The only problems we had were of course parking thanks to its location on second street, and the wait for food was a little long. Been here a bunch of times. Love the food. The rolls are good, the service is pretty good, and the sake is cheap. I like the place; it's kind of the go-to spot for sushi on 2nd street for me, but it's never really been more than a 4 star. It's funny how a total clusterf*ck of a night earned them an extra star. I don't have any idea WTF was going on. Might have been a new food runner, might have been a feud, might have been a head injury... dunno... I got the sense that a few other tables were caught up in the same mess. What I do know is that despite the screw-ups, the misdelivered orders, and the general chaos, our waiter (Jon) and a guy who I think might be either the owner or the manager both ended up giving me and my girlfriend one of the best sushi nights we've had in quite a while. I think "grace under fire" might be the best way to describe it. Sometimes stuff just goes to hell. But the service was AWESOME. I don't think for even a second I felt like they didn't care. We got 4 rolls, edamame, and miso soup. I ordered and paid for my order online. When my husband went to pick it up they told him I hadnt paid for it and charged my card a second time. They made him wait over 20 minutes only to discover that one of the rolls was missing. I sent him back and they reversed the second charge on my card. He waited another 15 minutes and they gave him the forgotten roll. Once we finally sat down to eat all of the rolls were soggy and poorly put together. They were all falling apart and the fish was scant in quantity and severely lacking in freshness. We didnt even finish our food. We threw away at least half of it. I wouldnt even feed the discarded food to my dog. I am afraid it would make him sick. We definitely will not be back to this disorganized, disgusting place. read more

UPDATE 3/3/17: For some months now we've been going to another place. Something happened here and all their waitresses left and the quality of the fish went downhill at the same time. Chewy fish is bueno. By far my favorite place for sushi. They have a large selection of rolls and the fish itself is always fresh, buttery tender and delicious. The service is top notch and you get the feeling they genuinely appreciate your business. As a frequent customer they are always bringing out new things for me to try. This place surpassed my expectations. I came during the happy hour times (20% off certain items!), but noticed that the place was pretty empty considering some of the businesses around it had lines filling the sidewalks. We still decided to eat here, and we were not disappointed. So, the food was great but we didn't eat it all. We asked for the left overs to go. The waiter took them to the back to package them up. 5 minutes later we overheard him complain to the waitress that she accidentally threw our left overs away. Then we heard him talking to the manager about it. 5 minutes later he brought us our left overs in a container and didn't say a word. They were the exact same left overs (partially eaten).
