I ordered the Spicy Tuna, Spicy Yellowtail, and Spicy Salmon rolls to go. They tasted good except they weren't rolled well. As soon as I picked up the piece with my chop sticks it started to fall apart and it got worse when I dipped it in the soy sauce. I found the food to be extremely bland. The selection of rolls really wasn't that great. The miso soup was good, but average. The food came out, for 3 people, at 3 separate times, which was extremely awkward. Places is ok. The staff try's to be customer friendly which is a plus but the food is just garbage. You don't even get rice with your dinner unless you pay for it as a side. My wife didn't even eat her dinner because it was so watered down and lacked flavor. On top of that there were soggy red onions and soggy yellow onions which makes me curious to how long they were sitting in the kitchen before placed on the plate. I've been going to Sushi En since they opened. I LOVE sushi and eat it all the time when traveling. This place has the BEST quality of sushi I've ever had. My favorite roll is the "All in" and "The Rainbow". Pretty basic rolls, but delicious. The firecracker, hurricane, California dreaming and Double Crunch are also awesome. I have been coming here for years, every time we visit the in-laws. I deducted a star for ambience/lack of decor - not a major when he food is so good. The food has always been fabulous, tastes great and always seems to come promptly after ordering. A good sign is the restaurant always seems to be full of patrons. Sushi En, you have all the potential in the world to garnish a five star rating from me but, you squandered your chances with the service. It was merely adequate and there was one big thing that bugged the heck out of me. I asked for a recommendation on the cocktails and the server said "Uhh, I'm more of a whiskey and beer guy myself". Okay, that's cool and all but, this isn't personal preference play-land. At a restaurant I fully expect for the servers to be able to give me recommendations without missing a beat. You really should know what the stuff you are selling tastes like or at the very least you should be able to ramble off a few top sellers with ease. The guy also stumbled when asked the drink specials. There were a few other things that bugged me but none were thaat big of a deal yet, it is what is keeping me from giving Sushi En a higher rating. To put it simply, I liked my server well enough as a person but, not so much as a server. I liked the atmosphere well enough but, the space is fairly tight and things can get pretty loud when it is packed up. On a much more positive note, I did eat one of the best things in my life here. Amaebi W/Fried Head is raw shrimp nigiri with, you guessed it, a fried shrimp's head on the side. To be completely honest with you, I could have done without the nigiri. Raw shrimp has never been a favorite flavor or texture for me and it paled in comparison to the sumptuous and deeply flavored crunchy shrimp's head crowned with a gorgeously thick sweet brown sauce and an equally beautiful yellow savory sauce. It all just worked so perfectly together, it's cliche and all, but, it was an excellently executed symphony of flavors going on in my mouth. I dare not describe it any more out of fear of making my anticipation to have that dish again and again grow any larger than it already has. The sushi is pretty darn awesome too and the Miss. Saigon cocktail that I picked was a sure win but, everything in my meal was overshadowed by those handsomely fried heads of heavenliness. I forsee many more trips to Sushi En in my future. Afterall, I am just dying to try the grilled yellowtail jaw that I spotted on the menu. The lesson here? Delicious food can right plenty wrongs. read more

We gave Sushi-En another try tonight. The wait for a table was about 20 minutes, which was understandable for a Friday Night. We finally got seated. Our server forgot our drinks, but she was very apologetic. She didn't come check with us as often as we'd like though... we needed napkins and water a few times but couldn't manage to contact her. Anyways, on with the food. Got our usual Diablo Roll, Ultimate Tuna, and of course, the Fatty Tuna (O-Toro). I love Sushi En for a casual sushi dining experience. I have gotten their bento box (salmon) as well as various assortments of sushi. This is actually the first place I ever had sushi. I love that they have an area to dine where you remove your shoes and are seated on the floor (with cushions of course). I have also ordered take out from here and gotten fast service. Stopped by a few weeks ago with a friend for a late dinner and really no complaints come to mind. We were seated immediately, the service was fast and attentive and our entrees came out very quickly. I had the house salad as an appetizer, and a Hawaiian Garden roll with mango and pineapple. Yum! My companion had the Sushi Deluxe, which contained a variety of seafood nigiri including octopus. I don't have a lot of sushi experience to compare Sushi En to, as this was only the second time I've tried it, the first being at a place in California. However, I can say that the sushi was fresh and tasty and the service was acceptable. It was a great place to dine pre-Friday night movie at Rave. My only complaint is that it was very warm and stuffy in the restaurant, but that's not enough to keep me from coming back. Oh, and the oranges at the end of the meal were a nice touch :) read more
