Take out assortment of sushi and sides
    Rebecca S.

I have too many good things to say about this restaurant. We order here often, because the quality of the fish, the quality of the rolls and the overall service is always excellent. Yes, there are times when it has been slower and not up to its usual par....but that is very rare! I would highly highly recommend this place if you want delicious sashimi, delicious rolls and a varied selection! I always get the HOT roll, the Alaska roll, the rainbow roll and the Mania roll and it never disappoints. Fresh, yummy and full of the ingredients they promise. My husband always loves the kaarage and tako yaki, always fresh and yummy as well. I usually order the agadashi tofu, which I love, but I wish they would put in a separate small container, so I could add the sauce to it. I usually have to take out the food it comes with and make a makeshift container to add the sauce so it soaks it up as normal. All in all, this is our usual Go To sushi place and we highly recommend it!

3 pcs Inari, 1 avocado roll, 1 veggie roll

Good quality sushi, a slight step above the average sushi joint in the area. They have a lunch special that includes miso soup and a choice of 2 items for $10.50, or 3 items for $15.75, plus tax. I did the latter, and got 3 pieces of inari nigiri, 1 avocado roll, and 1 veggie roll. My wife ordered a la care, getting 1 inari nigiri ($1.80), 1 avocado roll ($4.75) and 1 mighty veggie roll ($7.50). It turns out their regular veggie roll is pretty lame and basically just an avocado roll with a touch of cucumber and inari skin; the mighty veggie roll is way more satisfying and interesting, coming with broccoli and carrot in addition to avocado, cucumber and inari -- much more satisfying. Also, if vegan, their miso soup does *not* have fish in it, so that's a plus. Good sushi overall, pleasant environment, and friendly, helpful service. Recommended.

I was here on January 28th, Tuesday and needed some yummy lunch that day. Sushi Mania was the perfect spot in this neigbourhood so I went in. Waiting was not too bad. I got Alaska Combo ($10.95) it was tasty. Miso soup was good as well. I thought their sushi rolls seemed to be smaller than before; anyways my experience here was wonderful. Service was attentive.

Usually the words "cheap sushi" strike fear in my heart, afraid that the price is an indication of quality. However, Sushi Mania was recommended to me for reasonably priced sushi, so I figured it was worth a try. Sushi Mania is a tiny restaurant. They have two-item and three-item combos for $5.95 and $8.95 and various sushi combos starting at a mere $7.95. Combinations come with miso soup, which was served with a spoon. This was a first for me. My daughter, who does not eat sushi, got a two-item combo of avocado roll and teriyaki chicken. The chicken even came with rice. It was the perfect meal for her. I NEVER eat sashimi because of the cost and could not pass up the opportunity to get a sashimi combo. The combo had 3 pieces of salmon, two tuna, and a few pieces of sushi (tuna, salmon and ebi). For only 25 cents per piece more, you can have wild salmon, instead of farmed. The cuts of sashimi were quite generous. The fish was fresh adelicious. My husband went with the Tuna Salmon roll combo, which came with 6 salmon and 6 tuna rolls, and a couple of pieces each of tuna and salmon sushi. Each of our combos were $8.95, which using current exchange rates, translated into US $6.74 - what a deal! My only regret about the visit was not having ordered more food! I could not believe that this place wasn't packed with people waiting outside, but I think we were just lucky. Vancouver is famed for their sushi, and Sushi Mania proves that you don't have to pay dearly to enjoy it.

Wow, this quaint Korean operated Sushi joint really made me happy - my tummy and my wallet. Came on Sunday for lunch, I gravitated towards the lunch specials. You may select 2 items for $6 or 3 items for $9. Lots of good choices there (see menu picture). I ordered tuna maki rolls, dynamite rolls and the 3 piece salmon nigiri sushi. Fish was fresh. Though the rolls were not Works of Art, they all tasted quite good with a decent amount of ingredients. Each meal came with complimentary miso soup too. Great service - attentive and polite. They were also kind enough to give me their house hot sauce to spice things up, Korean style. Place was quite small seating 22 people. It filled up in 45 minutes after opening on a rainy Sunday. Not bad at all. Overall, this seems to be a great place to catch a quick lunch with the kids. Very easy on the wallet too!

Got to be the most disappointing sushi joint to-date. They don't take reservation and refused to sit people down if the whole party is not there. A lady came in and said she has kids who were super hungry and they won't give her a table. My goodness, made me feel sad seeing that :( I had the BC Roll and although it didn't taste bad, it was battered and deep fried. Odd, this is the 2nd Korean sushi place that deep fried their BC Roll. I also do zoom in on knife skill and how the maki stays intact. The cucumber were in slightly different sizes in this roll. The chopped scallop roll was scary, I took one bite and it was still frozen and very fishy. I saw a small piece of scallop on my plate and it was from baby scallops. Not what I am used to and didn't eat the rest. The miso soup was really salty, I had one sip and couldn't have more. I came here based on other Yelp reviews. Not sure if they were having an off night but it was just off both service and food quality.

Mania roll (5/5), sockeye salmon, scallop & tobiko nigiri
    Jasmine L.

Loved their MANIA ROLL ! The seared creamy scallops on top was so yummy. Otherwise I found their normal scallop nigiri, tobiko & sockeye salmon to be OK. I think I'm more of a Atlantic wild salmon girl when it comes to sashimi haha. I do want to come back to try their ebi sunomono and bigbang roll next time!

A small place on Main Street. Don't get this confused with Sushi Main, which is nearby. The server was friendly and quick. She took my order and came around enough to ensure my tea was full and how I was doing, but not to the point of feeling overshadowed. The sashimi was fresh and melts in your mouth. The roll was okay, nothing special. The roll was small and lacked some flavor. The place is small too so going with a small group is fine, maybe 6. They can probably fit around 22-24 people as they did change the layout.

Been back many times now, and every time it has delivered. This place continues to earn my highest praise. The food portions aren't the largest in town, but for the quality you get, this place really can't be beat. Special mention goes to the sushi pizza - 4 delicious pieces of tuna with masago on top, served on a "crust" of crispy pizza rice, and covered with spicy mayo. Very innovative, and great for making friends. The 5 stars remain.

Sushi pizza. That's what I came for. It was quite tasty. A crust of deep fried rice (I think?) with toppings of imitation crab meat , avocado, mayo, tuna and salmon sashimi, fish roe, and sauce. This is a wicked concoction. I'd eat this all day. The other stuff: Chicken karaage was a bit under seasoned - maybe an off day. Sashimi sushi combo - fresh tasted pretty standard. No issues on quality here Kids combo - for my daughter who claimed she was hungry, loves sushi, but yet ate all of two pieces. 5 year olds, I tell ya!!! Temake combo of california, dynamite and spicy tuna. The fillings were all very well done with these cones. I liked all of them. The spicy tuna was good, but I know that I've had better at Yoshi a long time ago. All that said, personally for me, the seaweed cone was a bit too overpowering for the fillings. This was the first time I've had a temake cone. Not a fault of the establishment, it's just not for my taste. I'll venture to come back, but unlikely I'll order the "standard" Japanese fare. I'll go for some of the alternative creations that these guys come up with - such as the sushi pizza. A very small space, friendly staff.

It is a small Japanese restaurant on Main Street in Vancouver. By listening to the conversation between the waitresses and chefs, I think they are Korean. My friend and I went for dinner. We didn't make reservation, but we got a table for two immediately. The service was great. My friend ordered a cup of green tea and I ordered a cup of hot water. The tea and water were really hot. I don't like some restaurants who serve customers warm tea or water. Our waitress would repeat what we ordered, so she made sure she got everything correctly. The menu has a lot of varieties. Among all the rolls, mania roll is the first or top one on the list of rolls. I know a lot of Yelpers tried it and posted pictures here, so I ordered and must try it. It had seared scallops on top of the sushi. It tasted excellent. I usually had seared tuna and salmon. It was my first time to try seared scallops. My friend and I also ordered: sushi pizza - four balls with either salmon or tuna sashimi on top of faked crab meat and rice at the bottom Half order of spicy tuna sashimi Sashimi salad Spicy salmon nuggets Half order of sockeye salmon sashimi I liked how we could order half order of spicy tuna sashimi and sockeye salmon sashimi, so we could try more dishes. I never had salmon nuggets which were very good! Overall, all the dishes were artistic and fresh. The prices were reasonable and they did not rush us to pay and leave after dinner. My friend and I could sit and chat for a while before we left.

OMG. What cute, tiny little Sushi and Japanese appetizers. Almost everything about Sushi Mania is tiny. The joint is tiny. The food is tiny. Even their employees are small. The prices are pretty small too, but in proportion to the serving size. You can order from the lunch special menu where you can assemble a combo from a list of items at a set price. We tried Spicy Agedashi Tofu and Chicken Karaage as appetizers. Both portions were crispy....and small. The Karaage was interesting in that they were served boneless and came with a dipping sauce. They were extremely crispy with just a hint of garlic. The Tofu blocks were sitting in a pool of hot sauce and lightly sprinkled with green onions. I wished the portions were larger, they all tasted so good. We ordered the spicy Sushi combo which featured tuna, Salmon and California rolls drizzled with hot sauce. They were all dainty. We also had a chicken udon which was served in an amazingly savoury broth. Again, serving size was on the small side. The restaurant was busy the entire time we were there on a Saturday morning. Food was served quickly and tea was refilled almost as soon as an empty cup was placed on the table. The server/hostess was very enthusiastic and friendly. I don't know if she was really Japanese but her high pitched Japanese greetings sounded authentic enough. Sushi Mania is a great little Sushi place worth visiting the next time you're on Main Street. Maybe it isn't the best place to eat if you're starving, but a good place if you just want a light snack or meal.

I counted maybe 36 seats. The interior is nice but generic enough to be just about any type of restaurant. The menu accessed via QR code. I ended up trying the following: - Assorted Tempura: Good. Light batter, but slightly overbrowned. - Miso Black Cod: Good. More elaborate presentation than most, but very small piece. - Salmon Belly Sashimi: Very good. Fresh and delicious. - Tom Special Roll Tray: Very good. A great way to sample all the different roll, all which are very good. I thought it was reasonably priced and could adequately feed 4 people. Service was very good. There are a LOT of staff, so we were constantly being checked on to make sure we were happy and got anything we needed. Overall a good meal. It doesn't classify as the best sushi in Vancouver, but I can see the quality-value ratio might be the best in the city. All the food was quite good and certainly not overpriced. I imagine the high staff count was due to the overwhelming amount of takeout orders. I would return.

Our wait staff were friendly and on point. They were considerate about answering our questions about the food and food allergies. No dairy involved in either dish which I was happy about because I have challenges digesting milk protein. Yes, it's kinda pricey. Yes, it's totally worth it. The katsu is light, crispy, fried perfectly, not greasy, and comes with unlimited rice, miso soup, finely chopped cabbage salad, and an addictively delicious sesame dressing. Okeya Kyujiro is a Michelin one-star theatrical omakase restaurant, and when they say theatrical, they mean it! From the moment you're welcomed by smiling ushers in kimono to the closing tea ceremony, every movement feels intentional, precise, and elevated. The ambiance is serene and anticipatory. At the start, guests sit in silence as a black screen conceals the chefs. You see their shadows moving behind it. A bell rings, the screen lifts, and the performance begins. Dinner is a 25+ course experience priced at $325 per person. It's undeniably a splurge, but for a milestone celebration, it feels justified. The menu is seafood-forward, with many ingredients flown in from Japan. Each ingredient is presented before preparation, then carefully assembled and served directly from chef to guest. Courses arrive one by one, never rushed. The service team moves seamlessly in the background, refilling water and attending to drinks (available as an add-on) without disrupting the flow. The finale is a matcha ceremony, whisked in front of you with the same quiet precision that defines the evening. When the final sip is taken, the bell chimes once more, the chefs and staff bow, and the screens close. It was a beautifully choreographed dining experience, perfect for marking a special moment, and one I'd gladly return to for the next celebration.

This is a more theatrical style so expect louder music and a more theatrical experience (eg one of the servers played the flute for the guests celebrating birthdays). I prefer a more intimidate and interactive style of omakase where you can talk with the chefs. This lunch also felt a little fast in terms of progression of the meal. Some of the dishes were very tasty while others didn't wow us. With drinks, we were quite full despite some reviews saying portion is on the smaller size. Our total was around $500 with drinks for 2 people. A really good experience for omakase, especially if you are looking for a unique experience though not my favourite one I've tried.
