An AYCE sushi for $25.95 or a'la carte for good sushi. Next to Flying Biscuit in the Earth Fare shopping center. FOOD: I started with the Avocado Salad which is spring mix, avocado, and ginger dressing. Keep in mind that the AYCE salad is a little smaller than the a'la carte salad. For dinner, I got the Simba roll(tuna, salmon, yellowtail, avocado, and massago) and Angry Dragon(shrimp tempura, eel, avocado, and eel sauce). The Simba roll in a little bland but the Angry Dragon is really good! No wonder it's very popular. We also got the Baked Mussels(baked mussels with special sauce) which is spicy. For dessert, I got vanilla ice cream which is Hershey's ice cream cup. Overall it's good and decent for the price. read more

The sushi here was outstanding!! Especially the Godzilla Specialty Roll (the deep fried crunchy outside was delightful) and Philly Roll (bite size!). We also had the edamame - it was simple and to the point. The hibachi platters were quite delicious - I loved the huge helping of veggies and liked that there were combination choices so you don't have to pick just one! I highly recommend the steak and salmon. They don't ask you for a cook temp on either but they get it just right. You also get soup & salad with this so you might want to push for the sushi and share a hibachi platter with someone else - unless you're pretty hungry. The service was quick and friendly. The restaurant was clean, not too loud and there's plenty of room to move around. I will DEFINITELY be back and I see that they have pick up orders also and delivery with postmates so I can definitely find a convenient way to get my sushi or hibachi fix. This is a first visit review. I stumbled in here for lunch on Eclipse Monday. The restaurant wasn't too busy; there were about 4 other parties inside when I arrived. As I walked in, the hostess asked if I wanted to order from the menu or go with the $15.99 all you can eat list. If I did that, I would potentially get charged extra for any wasted food (primarily seafood because seafood costs a lot). I opted for the lunch menu instead. My waitress came over to me immediately and took my order. I ordered the lunch eel and tuna bowl. It came out less than 7 minutes later. It was decent. Nothing to really brag about. My waitress checked on me probably 4-5x in the 35 minutes I was there. Because she was nice and the location is close to my job, I'd come back. read more

Grossly overpriced and average food bought through DoorDash. $18 for 8 small, small pieces in a specialty roll (which honestly wasn't very special- very average ingredients and average taste) and the chicken and shrimp hibachi dinner was $30 and did not feed a full person. Spent $150 on doordash to feed 6, ended up only feeding 4 and had to order from another restaurant afterwards. :-/ Literally every other sushi and hibachi restaurant in the area can feed you for half the cost. I'm a pretty generous person, so I decided to visit twice before writing my final verdict. The verdict is: not great. The food is solidly fine, but I can no longer stomach the intolerable slowness and attitude one particular waitress gave me both times. This particular waitress is middle aged, has bobbed dyed hair, and glasses. Perhaps some of you will know exactly who I am talking about. The first time: went with a group of friends. There were 7 of us total and we were very aware that we didn't want to cause any inconvenience because we were such a large group. However, this waitress was just straight up rude. She threw us dirty glances everytime we placed an order (which we did just on one strip of paper to minimize confusion for the kitchen). She would huff around and ignore us for thirty minutes at a time while servicing all of the other AYCE tables around us. Horrible. The second: I was in a much smaller group, just 4 of us, my aunt, mom and brother. Again, she left us hanging while serving the other tables around us, also groups of 4. We had to literally stand up to flag her down. The rock shrimp was puny at this point. The waitress would throw us dirty glances like we were eating too much while we were ordering normal amounts, a roll per person. She was very unkind while explaining the maximum 10 piece sashimi rule, treating me as if I couldn't comprehend her words. She also came to remind us that there was an overage charge per piece left over multiple times, insinuating we were ordering too much. Again, it was a roll per person and we would always finish our food first. Also, it is none of your business! I am the customer-- if I don't have a good grasp of how much I can eat, serves me right to be charged extra. You're not the one paying. I am. Luckily towards the end of our meal, a nice young waitress who was manning the cashier came to serve us. She was great and attentive! As one reviewer mentioned below, it is truly tragic that the owner has lost business because of this one particular waitress. I have an inkling we are talking about the same one. Also-- as a note, after reading all of the reviews, I noticed one reviewer caught this lady talking smack about his party in Mandarin and Fuzhou dialect. I hope people will not chalk this up to me "perpetuating the liberal agenda" but I truly believe my family and friends were not given as much attention because we were Asian, as opposed to the other more white clientele. UPDATE 04/20/2017:: I.AM.SO.SAD!!! The menu at Sushi Osawa changed. Or rather, the owner decided to put a limit on the amount of sashimi one can order and also took off some of my favorites items. Now, you can order 20 pieces of sashimi per person. Honestly, I completely understand why there needs to be a limit on sashimi orders. People be pigging out and have no self control. Our waitress told us some groups can order up to 700 pieces of sashimi. Damn people, don't ruin it for the rest of us! I know this place is AYCE but come on, at least let the restaurant live! Unfortunately, not only is there a limit on the sashimi, Sushi Osawa also removed the jalapeno yellowtail, fried oyster roll, mackerel sashimi, albacore sashimi and so forth from the menu. I'm not sure if I'm missing anything. Honestly, I would much rather the restaurant raise its prices than to straight out remove items from the menu. If I'm paying to come to a restaurant, I want to be able to eat what I want to eat--not a lesser version. Also, there are no longer deserts. Yup, they took away ice cream which I find ridiculous because every Japanese buffet offers ice cream at the very least. Anyway, I have to admit I was bummed out visiting this establishment recently. I really loved this place and would not have minded if I needed to pay an extra $5 or $10, as long as I can eat what I came here for. So no stale rice, lukewarm soup, everything tastes as it should. Some of my favorite things to eat: creamy mussels (HOLY COW! I eat at least 8 myself), jalapeno yellowtail, out of control specialty roll, fried oyster roll. Some classics? Eel nigiri, salmon sashimi, shrimp sashimi, and mackerel sashimi. Be a little bit of a dare devil and try their octopus sashimi and squid nigiri, AMAZING! Honestly, you have to be realistic in your expectations. You're paying $26 for unlimited made-to-order sushi and sashimi. Where else can you get this deal? Any other restaurant will charge you $12+ for a set of 8 pieces. Plus, is the quality subpar? Heck no! The specialty sushis ARE DECKED with so much fish. They really aren't stingy at all with their ingredients. Sushi Osawa's got a wide range of alcoholic beverages. When I go, I generally go for the classic hot sake at $9 per bottle. Bottle is small, like any other sake bottle. One bottle can probably fill 6 small shot glasses? [SERVICE] Sometimes great, sometimes not so great. I feel like now that the waitresses know me (since I come so often), they've become a lot nicer. Stuff like, "ohhh, haven't seen you in a while!" I usually sit down and make a huge order. Before I'm done, i make my second order. This way, I'm not waiting for too long in between orders. [ATMOSPHERE&LOCATION] Sushi Osawa is located across from the Forum, in the same square as Flying Biscuits. Parking is free and in abundance. wow...this is truly a hidden gem located in Norcross. i came across this amazing all you can eat (AYCE) sushi place through a meetup.com. we went here as a group tonight with 29 others and we were able to try nearly everything. I ordered nearly everything on the menu (or at least someone from our table did). from the appetizers - - seaweed salad - fresh and well made over a bed of sliced cucumbers - tuna tataki salad - seared tuna (3) over a bed of lettuce with the ginger sauce - edamame - cooked nicely. a little too much salt, but still tasted well. - rock shrimp - was really well cooked - not too greasy (not over cooked) and had a nice spicy sauce on top of it - shrimp tempura & vegetable tempura - cooked well (2 pieces of shrimp), (3 pieces of various veggies) - tuna pizza - a true surprise! this was a oven baked thin fajita crust topped with fresh herbs, spiked guacamole and sushi grade tuna & Jalepeno (Highly recommended this item) sashimi - provided as individual pieces, so when you order, make sure you order based on how many slices you want - salmon - very fresh and smooth. definitely a great sushi grade - tuna - wasn't as much as a fan. in my eyes, wasn't sushi grade, as it the texture of it was very thick and gritty. almost tasted as if it was 'cooked', but it wasn't - yellowtail - was a good cut (small - probably 1 inch by 1 inch). - mackerel - DEFINITELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS - very fishy flavor. wasn't cleaned very well - octopus - nice slice of a main leg - was a little tough, but was consistent with octopus. - eel - this was a slice of eel over rice. was good, standard.. specialty rolls - - american dream roll - was a good basic roll with rock shrimp in it. wasn't a fan of the sauce, but the roll itself was nice - sexy on the beach - a surprise roll - it comes out with pink soy paper. was very good and a roll i'd order again - angry dragon roll - if you like eel, then this roll is for you. it has both shrimp tempura and eel, and topped with an eel sauce - out of control - i ordered this roll without the asparagus, and even without it...i was not really a fan of it b/c of the sauce. the fish that was on top of it (yellowtail) was seared, and it didn't taste right. it probably would have been better as raw in addition to that, i ordered a bottle of hot koji sake (hot sake) which was really smooth and was only $9 for the bottle (was approximately 6 small cups worth) some of my colleagues that i dined with ate the ice cream. Green Tea & Vanilla were included with the meals and were packaged in little dixie cups. Others ordered the mochi ice cream came in a few flavors (mango, vanilla, red bean or green tea) which came out in a plated fashion and was very nicely setup. the presentation was quite nice. the atmosphere was nice and quaint. they had us set up in the corner where we had 3 tables of 9 - 10 at each table. the tables that we had were on the wall, so they were attached to cushioned benches and chairs on the opposite sides. it was a little tight in there, but it is not a very large restaurant (probably holds 75ish)? there were a bunch more tables in the main part of the restaurant, as well as some bar seats at the sushi bar. The sushi bar was visable, and the sushi chefs behind the counter were always active. they were probably dressed with protective clothing , not exposing hair, and wore gloves and aprons as well. (being sanitary is always a +) There is ample amount of parking in front of the restaurant, as it is located in a strip mall. overall, this restaurant experience was great, and it is definitely a restaurant i'd go to again (especially if i don't eat all day). save your appetite for this meal, because you will be glad that you did. the staff was quick and friendly, the food was fresh and yummy and my overall experience was positive. not to mention, you cannot go wrong for the price of $24.95 for an all you can eat meal. Ehhhhhhh. Considering its order as you go all you can eat sushi, I expected better. The quality was on par with a buffet style place instead. My wasabi was old... It clearly had been sitting out for a while. My mom somehow managed to order 10 eel nigiri. Apparently she thought she was ordering for everyone (Asian moms, dude...)? Anyhoo. The eel was cold when it came out, so it was obviously toasted prior to ordering. The pieces of eel were also not particularly big...But neither were they super small, so at least there's that. My mom also ordered the spicy tuna gyoza in her ordering frenzy. Both she and my dad said the fried gyoza tasted empty...Like it was just the shell with very little filling. I had the spider roll, some salmon nigiri, and some octopus nigiri. While the octopus was cut weird (no suction cups make me sad), it tasted decent and wasn't rubbery. My salmon could've been more flavorful, but it wasn't the worst I've had. Lastly, my wasabi wasn't very tasty either...There really wasn't much flavor to it at all. No clear sinuses for me! The information I was looking up and down for, dinner and weekend buffet price: $25.95 per pax. Great! I wished we knew that before we reached the restaurant. So now the price is a bit of a shock for us... wasted about 10mins to decide whether we should go ahead with AYCE or a-la-carte. It's expensive for us either way, so we went with AYCE. It's really not bad. Best of them are the generous slices of salmon sashimi, angry dragon roll, simba roll, calamari and surprisingly the steak hibachi. Along with miso soup, shrimp fried udon, and a couple more sushi and sashimi, filled us just right. They ran out of green tea ice cream, I can only say the vanilla and strawberry ice cream are ok. Don't like the foam cups that they came in though. So overall, it's good. Came here for lunch AYCE $13.95. I really enjoyed it. AYCE includes sushi, salads like kani, seaweed, house... Appetizers include spring Roll, cheese wontons, gyoza, shrimp shumai, edamame... Rolls include Shrimp tempura roll, crunch roll, eel and avocado roll... they also have mango Roll. I like the yaki udons (stir fried udon noodles) and their hibachi. We ordered the steak hibachi and steak was very tender and delicious surprisingly. For sushi, they do have a limitation (10pcs per person). I didn't care much since I don't eat raw fishes. They also have miso and clear soup. Clear soup is basically chicken broth was few pieces of mushrooms. It was bit salty and too much msg for me. Overall, I really had a great lunch. TLDR: Drive the extra mile to Sushi Yoko instead: While they don't feature AYCE, they put out quality & consistency. Breaks my heart, giving my first one-star rating on Yelp away to Sushi Osawa... (But after my experience there, not really.) So much heartbreak. Our party of 6 came into this restaurant bright-eyed & bushy tailed, excited to enjoy our Sunday evening meal here, especially given the positive reputation that Sushi Osawa had managed to stir up in its short time open. We thought it was absolutely wonderful that for $23, you could order anything on the All-You-Can-Eat menu in unlimited quantities - hot appetizers, cold appetizers, soups, salads, rolls, sashimi: all made fresh to order, with one exception: you had to eat all of the food ordered, or else pay the price of your uneaten food a la carte. Seemed pretty reasonable. Our party arrived and was seated promptly at 6:30 PM, and NOTE that at this time, the restaurant was not very crowded yet at this point. Approx. 40% - there were several tables still empty. Our server came up and promptly took our orders. We ordered a few appetizers to start. The kitchen had our appetizers out promptly, and they were wonderful. The portions were conservative, limited to 4 bites per appetizer. (i.e., the tempura shrimp platter came out with 4 pieces of shrimp, the tuna tataki salad was accompanied with 4 pieces of seared tuna, etc.) Pretty reasonable, given the AYCE nature. Our party cleared our the appetizers pretty promptly, and then we proceeded to order sushi. Each of us ordered our own sets of sushi and sashimi combinations, and our order was taken promptly to the sushi bar... or so we thought. We watched the sushi chefs feverishly make roll after roll, and felt the anticipation build up every time a completed plate was placed atop the counter... only for it to turn disappointment as a server would take a plate to another table - SO MANY TIMES. We decided to order more sushi. If there is going to be such a delay in putting our food out, we may as well order more to prevent going through another long wait once we'd finished our first round of food, right? An hour passed, and only TWO out of six of us had received our orders. These orders were promptly engulfed by our party. To pass the waiting time, we ordered more appetizers and cooked entrees from the kitchen. The food from the kitchen ALWAYS came out promptly, 10-15 minutes after each order. By 8:30, we had witnessed the restaurant go from 40% capacity to full, and then down to four tables... and WHAT had our table received? In terms of sushi, nothing more than four rolls and a few servings of sashimi. Mind you, there was one person in our party who had received NOTHING that she had ordered. Now, it'd been over two hours, and in this time, we were practically ignored by our server. At a point we were flagging down any server who walked by so we could just ASK about where our food was... And the answers we received were ridiculous. When we stated that we never got our original order that we had placed at 6:30... When we tried to explain that one person in our party never got her food and DID NOT GET TO EAT... When we questioned how other parties that arrived later than us, were seated, received their meals, and left in the time that we WAITED FOR OUR FOOD... (Get my drift now?) -- WHAT response did we receive? Several: One server seemed just as confused as we did, and bless her, she did what she could to get our orders out right away. Another: "I'm sorry, we are out of mackerel and salmon. You should have placed your order for that earlier, as several people have been ordering through the night, and could have easily pushed your orders back." (I'm pretty sure we had ordered before SEVERAL of the other parties that dined in that night.) "Oh, Americans don't eat very much if you ask me. That's why they are able to leave before you guys." (So... Are you saying we order more than Americans? What is that even supposed to mean?) "You made too many orders." "Oh, the girl who took your order is from the kitchen. We told her to come out and wipe the tables, but instead she took orders, which she wasn't supposed to do." "It's not the sushi chefs that are being lazy it's just *explanation about how many orders there are*" (Excuse me... We never called anybody lazy.) Wow. As someone who worked in the food/customer service industry for years, several of the blunders of the night were definitely excusable, and for a new business, I do sympathize as the beginning can be rocky. But this was inexcusable. For one, it is NOT okay to try to slide the blame onto another employee, and this was something that happened A LOT. If I had received an honest answer, say, "To be honest, I forgot to put your order in the system," that would be excusable. To AT LEAST APOLOGIZE in itself would be wonderful. Tokyo bay is much better. We waited a total of 1 hour in between all rolls of sushi order. The hot food was aight. The sushi isn't nearly as fresh as Tokyo bay. There were bones in the fish that stabbed my wife's mouth into horrifying pain. We had to guess several times before finally ordering the sushi we wanted again. No wifi, servers didn't even notice me so I was decaying waiting in my seat to turn in my order. I think everyone would be much better off and happier eating at Tokyo bay. Update: I tried coming here again for dinner instead of lunch based of some recommendations from some friends. Worst idea ever. The sashimi looks like it was sliced by a blind man using a spoon instead of a knife. The price is ridiculous for only a few more roll options none of which I think are even authentic rolls. I literally had over 70 pieces of sushi and still was trying to justify the taste of coming here. Again ordering the food was ridiculously long I ended up staying at that place for 3 hours, ordered maybe 4 times so you do the math and I eat very fast. The only authentic thing about this Japanese restaurant was the Hiroshima sized diarrhea I had shortly after eating here. Never coming back. I'll make this pretty straight forward. Pros: 1. Acceptable back of house kitchen that brings food out at a reasonable pace... 2. Stable environment, not too loud and not too chaotic. Cons: 1. Not friendly to new customers. What I mean is that there was no concerted effort to teach us on our first visit, how things really worked. 2. This miscommunication alongside many of the miscommunications between the service staff was not resolved in a polite manner. If ordering food a certain amount of food is going to clog the production from the bar then explain how we can help by showing how much we can order. But it is ridiculous to have ordered a roll's worth per person from the sushi bar and to not have that show up for an hour and a half, while seeing the same amount of sushi go out to the rest of the tables around. If anything, come alone, because it seems you get preferential treatment. Oh and they love "American people" because they don't "order too much." Maybe they like y'all more because it doesn't cut into their profits? Absolutely insane line of reasoning coming from a paid server. 3. There was nothing more than blame shifting and no one took responsibility among the staff until we had to approach the manager (who was not there). The hostess dealt with it albeit with hesitancy because of what seems to be perceived blaming of the customer for their incompetence. Which btw, no insults were thrown at the servers or the hard working sushi chefs. Although of the rude servers tried to put words into our mouths by saying we called the chefs "lazy." Nothing more can be given as a response than a chuckle. We felt bad for the chefs. 2 chefs for an ayce on MLK weekend? And having to deal with these servers? Yes, we felt bad for them. 4. An all you can eat sushi restaurant that presents itself as that must be able to provide that and not charge 20+ dollars per person. Unlimited Water and tea is not a proper substitute for an ayce sushi restaurant. 5. The back of house food was buffet-quality, neither great nor miserable. But so was the sushi. Which if the ayce was presented in a manner where one did not have to wait an hour and a half to get only half of the first order, it would have been marginally acceptable. read more

They have an a la carte menu, and an all you can eat menu. We all went with the AYCE and it was so worth the $23! You order everything you want with your server and they bring it to your table. The service is pretty slow, so I would recommend ordering a good amount the first order, and then ordering again when you're about halfway through. Everything was very fresh and tasty. Some of my favorites were the jalapeno yellowtail appetizer, tuna pizza, and spicy tuna roll. tip: We ordered 4 plates of shrimp and veggie tempura and several plates of udon, and they brought those out first, so we ended up finishing everything, and then feeling too full to eat the actual sushi! The tempura and udon were nothing special, so I would recommend skipping that all together and saving some space in your tummy for the yummier items on the menu:) Heard they were planning on raising prices soon, so try to stop by before they do! read more

Update: I came here the week they first opened and it was pretty awesome, but now that it gets so busy the lack of attentive service had my stomach screaming at me to feed it. The food is still the same as It was when I first came, but expect LONG wait time on your first order, especially if it's busy, and don't expect them to come back a second or third after. TBH the reason it's so slow is probably because the mechanics behind the establishment is like a mix of a traditional order off the menu and all you can eat. It was nice when it wasn't busy, but man oh man has this place fallen off my list. Like I said, the food was still good so I'd still give that at least a four star, but the fact that I'm paying so much and will never get much food brings it down to a 2. I understand that it gets busy during lunch time but there were a couple of tables that came in after us and they somehow managed to get their food before us. To begin with, I normally do not rate about service so much unless it's really just god awful, and I have to admit, this place is pretty awful. They are slower than molasses. In addition, the staff seems very unmotivated to serve. For one, our servers took forever to come take our orders the first time around, and when we said we needed about five more minutes, it took even longer for them, and I had to go and chase one down. If I have to get out of my seat to make my order, you probably actually deserve one-star. This place recently opened in Duluth and had a great promotion. My friends came back from Sunday lunch and said a new sushi restaurant had an AYCE option for a select sushi menu and was well worth the price. While my family personally didn't get the AYCE, we did try some of their rolls and sushi as well as their vegetarian udon. Things we tried included: Sushi Combo A Sushi Combo B sushi lunch, regular: nigiri sushi (chef select), shrimp tempura roll (sub-in) vegetarian udon -------- Sushi Combo A PROS -good amount of sushi pieces, very filling, good amount of fish CONS -lacking in flavor, maybe not enough pickle? or lack of pickle? - heavy rice with the California Roll. The shrimp tempura roll was an add-on because I didn't want the California roll. PROS -sushi was fresh, but it wasn't as soft or melt-in-your-mouth as some of the other pieces I've had at other establishments like Tokyo Shokudo or MF Sushi or Haru Ichiban or well...anywhere else. -filling: lots of rice CONS -fish was not super thick in the slices of nigiri -just seemed like standard grade fish, nothing that was amazing. -rice seemed undercooked. It was grainy like sushi rice was supposed to be but it wasn't sticky. -so much rice in the shrimp tempura roll which was so ridiculously bland. the worst is yet to come: --------- Vegetarian Udon: literally what it says - sliced vegetables in udon broth with udon PROS -came out hot CONS -absolutely no taste: I had to add about two soup spoons worth of soy sauce to the broth for flavor -it was a simple watery mushroom based broth, tasted like crap -not worth your money: there wasn't enough vegetables for the amount that we were paying for the dish. Udon is cheap. You can get it at the grocery store with 4 packs for $5. Vegetables are cheap too especially if it's a few slices of carrots and some cabbage, both extremely cheap. And if your soup base is diluted stock, well then you've cashed out even more. But to charge like $8-$9...or was it $10? That's a ripoff. Nobody in my family even bothered to try and finish it because it tasted ... awful. I think my actual description would warrant YELP taking off my post. I've been looking for an all-you-can-eat, made-to-order sushi restaurant for a while now and finally I have found it. Went with friends for dinner and the selection was great. The fish was delicious and fresh. The wait on food was no longer than what I'm used to for this type of restaurant. Protip: Order more food (if you're planning on getting more) when the food you already ordered arrives. We received a post card in the mail today and that's why we decided to try this place. The menus have hardly any pictures so you have to read descriptions of the rolls which is fine with me. The sushi was fresh and delicious. The staff was nice. Their lunch (pizza- finger food) arrived while we were there and they ate and served food. I didn't see anyone washing their hands before serving after eating and that struck me as kinda odd and unsanitary. Other than that I have zero complaints and that one issue could easily be worked out with a crash course in food safety. I would come here again. read more

I wanted to fall in love with this so badly. I've been looking for a great all you can eat sushi place and not scared to pay $ for it. Trying a variety of dishes is always fun. Unfortunately, the sushi we got with the AYCE felt like it was prepared as such. The rolls all felt like they were lacking something - even the simple rolls I feel like I've tasted better grabbing some pre-prepped rolls at the grocery store. The nigiri wasn't bad at all. Small, but you can order as many as you want so that's not a big deal. If I go back I'll go heavy on nigiri, no rolls (you can't customize on AYCE) and perhaps try more appetizers. read more

Kind of middle of the road for sushi, but hey, it's one of those AYCE weekend lunch places where you don't have to get up. The a la carte sashimi was of decent quality so I don't know how they're able to profit. Definitely order as much as you can possibly eat at the beginning because eventually, they're really slow to get out your second round of orders even with their rolls. I was kind of surprised by how decent their hot foods are and the portions are good for sharing among 2-3 people. Even their salads are good. Again, I'd recommend sharing just to maximize that stomach real estate for sushi and sashimi. I'd consider coming out here again although I'm not a fan of their tables/chairs and how close they are to each other. It's a good thing people don't have to get up too often, but the center tables for 6ppl are kind of a squeeze especially if people at the table next to you sit on the edge of their seats. Food is incredible and who doesn't love a flat rate for all you can eat Sushi? Why 1 star you ask? Simply put, the Service, more specifically the waitstaff are possibly the worst in the history of my dining experiences... And after reading some other reviews, it makes sense that the restaurant was only at 40% capacity at 7:30pm on a Friday Night... The service and waitstaff are going to ruin this place... They constantly get orders wrong, and have bad attitudes like when bringing the sushi to the table they mumble what rolls are what, don't look at you and when you say "what was that one...?" The same female waitress on 3 occasions walked away and said nothing... They also don't take note of requests like "hi, my wife is pregnant, can you make sure my raw fish order is on a separate plate"... Yeah, no, every time it comes out on the same plate so we have to reorder it and wait another 15-20 minutes... And believe it or not, this has happened on our last 4 visits... We have continued to go because the food is so good but we are seriously considering to never return... The last time we went (last weekend) we told the manager about what happened and he assured us it wouldn't again.... Why did we only tell the Manager this last time? Because we never saw a manager there before... If I owned that restaurant I would have fired 3-4 people from my last visit... Sushi Osawa is one of the few All You Can Eat (AYCE) concepts that require you to sit and order off of a menu instead of your typical get up and grab it AYCE buffet. I've always liked AYCEs for their value and variety, but most AYCEs disappoint on food quality and environment. Sushi Osawa does not disappoint on these two points, but missed out on 5 stars from me because of lapses in service, particularly when you order additional rounds of menu items mid-way through your feast. (More on that later) Value: ***** / 5 I've been to Sushi Osawa 3 times now, all for lunch, after hearing about it through a friend's recommendation. The lunch price is $13.95, which, if you think about what you get, it's really a good bang for the buck. They have a variety of appetizers to choose from (cheese wontons, edamame, gyoza, beef and chicken skewers, veggie tempura) to salads, fried rice, hibachi, and of course sushi. You can order as much as you want, all for $13.95. That's a pretty good deal. Service: *** / 5 The concept of sit and order vs get up and order actually sits well with me. Why? Because people usually tend to grab more than they can eat, and thus incur waste. With Sushi Osawa, you order as much as you think you can eat, and if you can't finish extra, you pay for the difference. All three times that I've been there, my party and I have never wasted anything. And yet we are still full when we leave. However, the biggest issue I've had with Sushi Osawa is their timeliness and consistency in getting orders out. Several times I've had issues with servers bringing out the wrong order. I've also encountered issues where they completely forget to bring you the order. You have to take the extra responsibility of following up with them so they can stay on top of things. If it weren't for this issue, they'd be getting 5 stars from me. Food Quality: **** / 5 The quality of the food in most AYCEs is usually inconsistent, but at Sushi Osawa they knock quality out of the park. Everything is consistently fresh, high-quality, and well seasoned. I particularly like the way they've redone the beef skewer. Cool ceiling lighting accents and stone-built walls really gives the space a very modern, sleek feel. The space isn't small and also isn't too big, with every table spaced just right and in an open room layout. It's one of the better designed Japanese restaurants / AYCE spaces I've eaten in. My one suggestion for their menu would be to add dessert to their AYCE. At Nori Nori, a popular get up and grab AYCE in Atlanta, you can get very delicious green tea ice cream and a variety of desserts in their dessert section, but at Sushi Osawa, dessert is a separate, a la carte option. Sugar costs much less than protein so if they were wise, they'd offer desserts on their menu so that they can fill people up faster. Bottom Line: Overall, Sushi Osawa delivers consistently on a great AYCE concept with good food, value, and a comfortable environment. You will get your money's worth eating here, and you won't feel like you're doing it in an average-looking interior. Sushi Osawa is located just across/down the street from the forum. It shares a large parking lot with other shops in this strip of other businesses so parking would not be a problem. Their next door neighbor is a Flying Biscuit Cafe, which closes after brunch so by dinner time there is no competition, whether it be for customers or for parking. The interior is decorated quite modern, though the space itself isn't too large. I went with a group of 14 on a Friday night. We had made reservations only 2 hours prior and it was no problem. Online, their menu isn't given for the all you can eat options, but rather just their regular menu. Upon arrival, they presented us with their AYCE menu which was HUGE! Many appetizers (hot & cold), soups, rolls, sashimi, hibachi, and other options. It doesn't have other sushi buffet options that other AYCE options seem to boast, such as: oysters, crab legs, little cakes and other desserts. However, that is not missed with all the other options you can choose from. What's different about Sushi Osawa is the way they operate their restaurant. Rather than having the customers walk up to receive food, the food is delivered right to the table. While there are advantages and disadvantages, the fact that the restaurant is relatively small, helps seat more people, though the time for food to arrive on my plate is lengthened. When you first sit down, they give you a small sheet of paper with the appetizers available for you to order. There's also cold appetizers, but it's not on the sheet, so definitely give those a try. The mussels were super delicious, though one order only comes with 2 oysters. There was some other cold appetizer with a jalapeno on it, that was good too. We tried most of their appetizers, and they were all of great quality and came out in a timely manner. After the appetizers, however, was when the trouble started. Because of our large party and the fact that there were only 2 chefs available on a Friday night, our food came out slow. The server was very sweet and nice and suggested we started off with two rolls a person before continuing to order more. Even though we did as she suggested, after the first large boat, it took 30-40 minutes (plus reordering) for the food to come out for another part of our table. This left the last third of our table without food. The kitchen was most likely frantic, and it was a definite let down that they couldn't serve us. It was sad that part of our group had to go home not even close to being full :( The food is of great quality. Much better than Tokyo Bay or Nori Nori. The price is also very friendly too, at $23 for dinner AYCE. Sashimi was sliced generously, rolls were wrapped decently, though some were a little loose. My favorite rolls were the Simba & AAA. For dessert there is only ice cream, at least for when I went. I saw on a previously posted picture that there used to be mochi for their dessert, but not for me :( The ice cream is good though nothing special, but there are more Asian flavors such as mango, green tea, and red bean. Service was kind, though they need to hire more perhaps for busy nights. My only suggestions would be to wait out a bit so they can grow more accustomed to the traffic of people, or just go with a party smaller than 10. It's nice that they give us the option of just ordering on the regular menu for those who do not want AYCE, therefore accommodating those in our friend groups that can't eat the full $23 worth of sushi. (For whoever has eaten sushi, 23 isn't a hard number to reach) There are pros and cons. They're still getting everything together in trying to establish itself as a new powerhouse in the slowly growing business of sushi AYCE. I'm a sushi lover. Does three visits in a week and a half say something? Quality of the food, particularly the sashimi is excellent. All you can eat made to order. Dinner is higher priced but many more options than lunch. For the PTC area, the food is five star. It won't be kept a secret long. Owner is super friendly and understands that you need good service and excellent food quality to survive in the industry. Service was great. Phoebe is very attentive. They have some folks in training. Restaurant has a nice ambience, and good for kids. Looking forward to many more visits here. read more

The food was decent. Sushi tasted fresh and other dishes were seasoned well. The concept was also good in theory. It's all you can eat but you order it from them. The menu had a nice variety and for the price was pretty decent. With that being said, We won't go back. Today's trip wasn't a waste, but this isn't somewhere where I would ever go again and it's all bc of the service and attitude of the workers. 1)there is no explanation of how things work. Do you order it from them? Do you write it down? How many can you order? Even after I asked if they could explain, they looked at me like I was bothering them in asking the question. 2)there is a very off putting and frankly tacky sign on the table that basically says if you don't eat it, you will get charged extra. While I don't like to waste food and I understand where they are coming from, it's still pretty tacky to have signs up everywhere. If you leave more than one bite, then they can charge you extra. What if it's the grossest roll you've ever tasted? You are basically forced to eat it out of fear of penalty. 3)the servers do not come to the table ...at all. They are rude when they do. I'm sorry, I'm asking you to get me napkins or even fill a glass of water but don't act like its a crazy request. 4)the food takes forever to come out. It's exhausting waiting. We went at 5 pm. There were only a few tables occupied and it still took forever to get anything. 5)orders were wrong. The servers would forget to put certain orders in, we would have to ask where items were, etc. I actually understand the part where they might forget...it happens but the servers sure weren't apologetic about it. 6)I like rolls so I ordered two. I've never seen a roll stuffed with so much rice. The rice ratio is crazy and they're doing that so you get full and so that you won't finish the roll (they can charge ya for it) or so you stop eating. Sneaky sneaky. In summary, food okay. They're dinner all you can eat for $23 is incredibly extensive and the lunch is smaller, yet still wonderfully extensive. Both include noodles, fried rice, and hibachi. I've never wrote a review before but this is really horrible experience I never had from anywhere before. First of all, this place's all you can eat is NOT ALL you can eat. There is limit of 15 pieces of sushi or sashimi per person. We ordered our first order and it took them 40 minutes to bring it to us. Because it took really long time for the food so we ordered our second order when we got out first food. Then the second order came after another 40 minutes from the point when we ordered. And rice on our second order was like rice cake. It was so bad and I was so mad from the food taking so long I stopped eating. I've never had experience like this from any restaurants before. We've been here a few times, and I've always enjoyed the sushi here. The staff is very attentive, and the concept of ordering all the sushi you want takes away the pain of having to wrestle others for a small tray of the more popular sushi selections. They do have a policy that if you order the food (all you can eat menu only), and don't finish everything you order, they reserve the right to charge you back for that food. While some may take offense to this, I rather like it. Order only what you can eat, and stop being so wasteful! Maybe all buffets should do that so they can save on the wasted food, and put some money back into food quality! My biggest complaint is their lack of kid's pricing.
