My family and I went here last night to have dinner for the first time. We had 7 people in our group and the baby they immediately accommodated us. Food: it is not a typical buffet lines. All you can eat made to order is their concept. The food is very yummy. Out of control, Angry Dragon are so good. The food can take a while to come out cause of the made to order. Here come the best part fresh Sashimi is a must. 15 pieces per person can not beat that. Reading some of the previous review scared me. I understand we had to get back for what we paid don't harassing the business. We would like them to stay open so we can keep coming back. 15 pieces per person is plenty in my opinion. Service: the lady that took care of us is very nice and friendly.When we first got there my husband thought Sashimi is extra but she took the time to explain how the menu works. Gave great recommendations. My friends didn't want to order the sashimi together so the lady had to come around and take individual order from us. I actually felt bad for her. She was very attentive removed our plates and supplies condiments ginger wasabi. I didn't even bother myself to ask her anything extra. Whoa, Nelly! After hearing rave reviews from friends in convo, seeing posts on fB about this place, and hearing how close it is, you knew I was going to make a visit. Especially since I heard it compared to Nori Nori and Tokyo Bay. The difference? Unlike Nori Nori and Tokyo Bay, you don't have the chaos and "fight" of standing in the buffet line to ensure you get that sashimi before all is gone! [I almost said crab legs but Sushi Osawa doesn't have crab legs. It's primarily a Japanese buffet.] you can sit at your table and order the food you want off their menus. You just write how many orders you'd like and wait patiently: it's almost like a restaurant except you can continue ordering until your hearts (or tummy's) desire! How does this work? If you're ordering off the menu, they will seat you where non-AYCE is. Otherwise, everyone at table must be ordering AYCE and sit in a section of the restaurant designated for AYCE eaters. Each order of a roll includes 6 pieces. So for one order of California roll, you will get 6 pieces. For the sashimi, if you write "1", you will only get one piece of whatever sashimi you order! I don't eat too many raw stuff so I just ordered the cooked rolls. ROLLS: * California roll - standard and can't go wrong. * Avocado roll - it was an avocado and rice roll. Nothing spectacular. But no raw foods! * Crunchy roll - had crunchy shrimp with other goodies. It was awesome! Ordered this twice. * Shrimp tempura roll - this is similar to the crunchy roll but a little more bland. I prefer crunchy roll over this. APPETIZERS: * rock shrimp - a deep fried crunchy shrimp with some sauce. I should know this but don't! It was a winner, though, at our table. Zucchini, carrots, broccoli, mushroom! The steak hibachi was good - a little bland but it was looking like a real piece of steak! The shrimp hibachi was also delicious. The size of shrimp is not tiny but not huge. It was acceptable - I guess that's what I'm trying to say. The only wish I had... That white or yam yam sauce would make this perfect! My first time here was on a Friday night around 8pm. There was no line at all, but the restaurant was about 75% full. My group went with the all-you-can-eat option. This restaurant is not a buffet-style restaurant. You receive a menu with plenty of options, and then you order with your waiter. I listened to everyone's comments about ordering everything at the beginning, but the kitchen was so on point that night, so all of our orders came out fairly quick each time (within 5-10 mins). Sashimi had a great taste. It wasn't fishy tasty and seemed pretty fresh. I liked the yellowtail jalapeno appetizer, but it was basically thinly-sliced yellowtail drench in a lighter soy sauce with a jalapeno on top. It was tasty. I enjoyed their hibachi very much. It came out piping hot! The shrimp were not overcooked, and the steak was not overly chewy. The rock shrimp hot appetizer was tasty as well. It was a lightly battered and fried shrimp topped with a spicy mayo sauce. I only tried one roll because I wanted to stay away from rice. Service was good. They checked on us often, and our servers were always around if we needed to place an order. I opted for the $2.50 extra for the fried bananas with ice cream. You order by filling out two different sheets of paper, one sushi and one for kitchen items. After getting our waters and sending in our initial orders, we waited. And waited. And waited. We got only the rolls, but the hibachi took almost an hour to get (what). The rolls were delicious, every single one. The hibachi was something to be desired despite the wait. The fried rice was solid, and so were the spring rolls. The food was 4 stars but the service was 2 and a half stars, which really detracted from my experience. We tried to get a second order in, and had to flag people down! Our water was filled once, after we asked. We had to flag them down for the check too! I have only been to eat for AYCE (all you can eat) which comes out to ~$26 after taxes. I prefer the sit down and order style of ayce since you can see the chefs creating your rolls to order. Food This place is amazing because they allow you to order sashimi! One of the things that fills you up the most at sushi buffets is rice so this way you can enjoy fish without getting too full too fast. They have a good variety of rolls to choose from. I love the Simba roll since it has the most amount of sushi inside. The Out of Control roll is really good but a bit heavy so we generally get one to share for the table. They also have fried rice, hibachi, and noodles. I've tried them but they are not worth ordering in my opinion since I need that room for sashimi Service Some other people have seemed to have had bad service but i never have the times that I have gone. The servers check in to see if we want to order more and the food comes pretty quickly considering we typically order 6-8 rolls at a time. You should take into consideration that if everyone is doing AYCE and ordering rolls food might take some time to come. Out strategy is typically it order a ton of rolls up front so we have a lot to eat right away. Atmosphere The decor is nice and I like how you can see the chefs preparing the food (so you can get excited when you see your order being put up). Overall experience If you are looking for the highest quality of sashimi this is not for you. If you are looking for decent sashimi and pretty good rolls at a crazy low price then this is the place! I love that it's made to order, so you know it hasn't been sitting there all day. I don't understand why people complain about the leftovers. Everyone is used to over-ordering, over-stacking their plates and then just wasting the rest. I love this concept- order only what you can eat. I do agree that half roll order would be more convenient if you are eating alone. A lot Vegas made to order buffets have that option. But I get it, it's extra work for the people preparing the food. I came here for the first time last month and it was AMAZING! The guy that was our waiter was so kind even though we came right before it closed (again I am SO sorry! I LOVE my local sushi restaurant. Going at lunch makes the work week so much more fun! You can order AYCE from an available menu (i.e. paper slip where you check off what you want). The hot apps are delicious; some faves are egg rolls, cheese wontons, and rock shrimp. The spicy tuna roll is a lot of tuna and just the right amount of rice and spice. As a business owner I rarely publicly address matters that can affect a business directly. I generally take each experience as a lesson of how not to conduct business and a reminder to take my business elsewhere. However, the experience I had with this place yesterday has forced me to share. I am frequently in the area and never wondered into this establishment until yesterday. I had a craving for Sushi so I popped in for an order to go. Now I won't go into the lack luster hostess and incompetence she displayed as patrons placed orders and were asked: "Where exactly is that on the menu"... I will just get right to the MAJOR problem and horrendous effort on behalf of management to address my concerns. I ordered 3 rolls, one with seafood, one all veggie (specifically in the veggie area of the menu), and another with banana (also in the veggie section I believe). I get home and tell my children I have a surprise for them and pull a tray from the bag. One of them dances around excited singing "Yay you brought us Shushi Shushi". At which time I notice it is ALL in ONE box. Now others may not have an issue with salmon juice on a banana and veggie role. Yet a severe fish allergy prevented us from even attempting to share the ones on the outside that didn't actually touch the fish. I immediately called stated that I just carried out an order of which they put veggie rolls in with a seafood roll. The hostess sounded aloof at which time I let her know I can't feed this to my children because they have a seafood allergy. She was apologetic and asks me to hold. She returned to the phone and told me verbatim "Ma'am I spoke with the manager and because you didn't tell us you had a seafood allergy there is nothing we can do". I then pointed out that there was no need to disclose health matters at the time of placing an order as there was nothing on the menu that stated a "veggie" dish would be exposed to seafood. She said that they couldn't do anything about it but let them know the next time I come in and they will be sure to separate it. I asked to speak with the manager directly several times and was told that the manager had just stepped out to pick up something... So as a consumer I have paid for food which can't be consumed, but even worse you have basically told me to just deal with it. Now I now know why there was only one table seated in your restaurant; and in the 25 minutes I waited to get my Sushi only two additional patrons entered. Buyer beware, there could be seafood, nuts and other non noted allergens in your food. read more

For a family of 4 we were able to have a family dinner for $55 with tip - something for everyone. This is our new favorite sushi spot. All you can eat and it's made to order, not the buffet junk. I appreciate the fact they didn't serve paper thin fish slices with their nigiri, but the sushi rice (shari) needs some improvement as they were kinda dry maybe due to the fact they were sitting in the open air for long? Overall, pretty good value considering the quality of fish, menu selection, and price. This definitely tops traditional sushi buffet restaurants (Nori Nori) if you want to just eat sushi, sashimi, and rolls. The rest of the menu (appetizers, hibachi plates etc) weren't worth the stomach real estate. It's an all you can eat restaurant minus the buffet table, so a waitress will periodically come to take your order. If it's your first time, try a little bit of everything! I personally come to eat more fish, so I order one or two rolls to share with my table and then go in on the sashimi and nigiri. The sashimi pieces are quite small, so I would double the number of pieces you order for the same serving you would get at a traditional sushi restaurant. I personally really like the salmon, squid, eel, and white tuna. They do charge for left over rice (from sushi) and left over pieces of fish, so clean your plate! read more

The food came slow, and when it did, the waitress was scrambling around and didn't know what went where. NEW MANAGEMENT: My family and I have been coming here for a while now and have always loved Sushi Osawa. They had some of the best sushi deals in town -- for $25 you could get a great deal on high quality sushi! Who could beat that? However recently, this place had an unannounced PRICE INCREASE ... for the exact same menu. They cited better management and better quality. I disagree. I admittedly love the menu, but now the portions were actually SMALLER and I felt that the quality went down significantly. The rolls all fell apart, sushi was delivered missing ingredients, and service was not where it used to be despite fewer customers etc. I don't think it's worth the price hike per person, and you'd get the same filling quality of sushi at the amazing Sushi Hayakawa down the road. I know how some Asian restaurants can be stingy with their all you could eat but the options they had were a pretty good selections and varieties. Sushi dishes, even nigiri, appetizers, meat on a stick, rice and noodle dishes as well! I mean.. they're obviously not the amount you would get when you're ordering it normally but hey.. if you want more, just ask! I also thought the price were pretty good as well, I usually spend $30 on two sushi rolls at most places that I go to. So the fact that you could have an all you could eat is even a plus, especially for those who are really hungry! This place is def casual, I like the decor and look of the place, seems clean. Staffs were just okay, they weren't rude or anything, they also weren't too personable either but I didn't have any problems.
