My family stopped by this restaurant on Saturday for lunch. We walked in and waited a bit to have a seat. We were shown our table and given our menus. We ordered our drinks; hot tea, 2 waters and an Arnold Palmer. The waitress was amazing! She was very kind and offered us miso soup and at the end monkey balls. It was chill inside with nice sushi photos decorating the walls and a few TVs mounted to watch various shows. There were a few guests already there when we arrived, but the service was great and the waitress was attentive. My girls ordered the kids chicken teriyaki with no sauce. It came with white rice and some tempura. We also had edamame. My other daughter ordered shrimp tempura. I ordered a Philly roll and a shrimp crunch roll. My husband ordered Tonkatsu Ramen. The grand finale was vanilla ice cream cones! The waitress was so kind. She even offered to take pictures of guests at their tables. We all said, wasabi! She then offered us some monkey balls. We've never had them, but they were filled with crab and mushrooms and two sauces on top. Unexpectedly yummy! The lovely waitress said, see you tomorrow as we left. Although placed in a smaller setting, we were able to fit a 10-person party comfortably. We enjoyed a higher-energy staff who broke the normal restaurant experience by spicing up the experience. Everyone enjoyed the sushi as it tasted really great! If you are into sake, you REALLY need to look into their weeknight sake specials (a whole (4 - 6 shot) bottle for, yes, $1 !!) Having to overhaul my diet means limiting my options and staying away from fried foods and high cholesterol foods (so no red meat and no burgers or fries), but I got tired of chicken and rice and vegetables all the time. It gets monotonous. But I will admit that I'm enjoying sushi more and more. This place got high marks on here, and I could see why. It's a no frills place that makes and serves good food. That seems to be the ideal for me these days. The crunchy shrimp roll was tasty. The rainbow roll wasn't quite the same quality, but was still made well. I appreciated the complimentary miso soup. I don't usually go for miso soup but it proved a good palate cleanser. I even liked that there was a lunch special menu and the rolls came at a discounted price. All in all, a good meal. This is a little hole on the wall, but so so good. The fish was so incredibly fresh and yummy. We ordered 4 items and every single thing was good. I highly recommend the spicy sashimi salad, the portion of fresh fish is huge and lots of fresh avocado. *The only thing they need to do is mop better. We came in at 4:15, so I doubt anyone ate before us, there was soda spilled all over the floor under our table and we walked out with shoes so sticky we were afraid to get in our clean car, so we both went in the restroom to try and get water on the bottom of our shoes. Tried this Sushi restaurant with my wife, who picked it. I had the medium Chef's Sushi platter which had 13 pieces of various fish. Man oh man was it amazingly good. I've had a lot of sushi before and this place just became my new favorite go to. The sushi just melted in your mouth and was so delicious. It was better than the expensive fancy restaurants by far but at a reasonable price. The service was great and hospitable made you feel like home. I am definitely coming back as often as I can. Some specialty rolls along with the shrimp fried rice. All VERY delicious. Packed nicely with everything you need, ginger, chopsticks etc. Service very friendly.
