    Edamame and Miso Soup
    Ashley N.

Stopped by Sushiya and had a great experience! We ordered the popcorn crawfish, seared pepper salmon sushi, shrimp tempura roll, miso soup, and edamame, and everything was super fresh and delicious. The prices were very reasonable for the quality, and the restaurant itself has such a cute, cozy vibe. Customer service was great, as well. My only small critique would be the music. The loud pop hits didn't quite match the cool, moody atmosphere. I think some chill lo-fi or mellow instrumental music would fit the space so much better. Either way, we'll definitely be back!

It was soooo good I almost finished all my food before the pic smh

Finally tried Sushiya and I'm honestly impressed The fish tasted super fresh, the rolls were well-balanced and everything came out looking beautiful. We ordered a mix of tempura & fresh rolls and every one was a hit. Service was quick and friendly, and the overall vibe was chill without feeling rushed. Perfect spot for a casual sushi night or a cute lunch with friends. Definitely coming back! Already craving it again

We love this place. It does have great selections. The prices are a little high, but still good quality food we enjoy coming here the staff there are always nice and attentive and kind.. one of our favorite things to order now is the baked salmon roll the spicy tuna roll and the fried chicken cutlet with white rice! Delicious food and enjoy bon appétit

    Chirashi bowl

An absolute gem for sushi lovers. The standout of the meal was the chirashi bowl, which featured an impressive assortment of exceptionally fresh fish imported directly from Japan. Every bite showcased the quality and care that goes into sourcing their ingredients. Beyond the food, the service was attentive and thoughtful without being intrusive, making the entire dining experience feel effortless. Although, beware, this is one of the only sushi restaurants I've been to that doesn't offer refills on green tea. The restaurant itself strikes a perfect balance between modern and inviting, with a chic atmosphere that elevates the meal. If you're looking for top-quality seafood in a stylish setting, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Everything was delicious! From the rolls, to the appetizers, even the bento boxes give you premium sides more bang for your buck I am coming back everyone is super friendly and the service is quick and the staff made it easy to make decisions and provide quality service I definitely will come back!

Spicy pepper salmon roll - delicious!

I wanted to try a new sushi spot in the area and glad to have stumbled on Sushiya! The wait is real on a Friday night, so be sure to waitlist on Yelp before coming over. It was an hour for me, but def worth it. The salmon sushi was solid, I would order again. The rice could've been warmer but the fish was fresh and I appreciated that. The salmon avocado really hit the spot for me. Sometimes I just want something basic and this was it! I loved it. Would recommend, the salmon pieces were good too. The eel avocado roll was a bit too sauced for me. I think I'd have to ask for sauce on the side next time if I order it again. The beef teriyaki was pretty sweet and yet a bit too salty for my liking. I would pass on this next time. Although it is a decent amount of food for the cost, especially is you do the two sides and get sushi and a tuna roll like we did! The spicy pepper salmon roll was probably a favorite for me. The flavor combination was great. Love the flavor from the sear and the soy mustard. The chili crunch was a nice crunch and who doesn't love green onions?? I'd def recommend this! All in all, I would come back but I do wish they had more rolls options without imitation crab meat. Come support this business, they have their great ratings for a reason!

We got immediately seated. Food came out quick. Service and food was good. I can't complain! Affordable pricing among sushi places too. Accommodations of no avocado and no green onion was also made without mistake. Nice cozy restaurant with okay parking Everything was nice. Thank you.

I stopped by for a quick lunch and can absolutely say I'll be coming back! The sushi was so fresh and delicious! Everyone was super friendly since we walked in; they greeted us and us immediately which was perfect because I was so hungry. The inside is dimly lit but very pretty and has the perfect amount of space between each table. Also, the restroom is pretty cool too; some very eclectic decorations for sure! Parking wise, there's a lot of parking available so no issue there.

We're traveling and got hungry. Saw the restaurant nearby and decided to give it a try. Good size in term of space and seating. Great food and service. Portions were great. Also price is very reasonable.

    Baked Crawfish Roll

Always great service and the food is always on point. Baked crawfish roll is my daughter's favorite.

    Couple's Sashimi Combo (30 pc)

Great service and food quality at Sushiya in San Dimas! I like their interior as well.

Update: I came back because the food was really good, despite our waitress being a little awkward. Our waitress today was so nice and friendly, and not awkward at all. Our food came out so fast as well, literally one right after the other.

Firs time here and the sushi taste is ans serving size is good!! Would definitely come back again!

    Ask the Community - Sushiya

Do they have all you can eat and if so how much?

    They don't offer AYCE sushi.

Are there Happy Hour specials and, if so, what days/times?

I believe happy hour is on weekdays, but call the restaurant to see if they have happy hours on weekends, too.

Is this an AYCE sushi place?

No it's not. However, the portions are more than enough to get the job done. Go in ready to eat. Stay hungry my friends 😋

Is the sushi bar open to sit at?

No I don't think they let people sit on the bar

There are limited booth seating (about 4 booths), one larger table, and roughly a dozen counter seats. We were a party of 4 with another group of 3 expected at the counter, so we were told next availability would be 7pm. But the owner (also the sushi/master chef) stepped in and offered to squeeze in an extra chair for us at the bar. We happily said yes, and that pretty much set the tone for the night. The ambiance is a cute, homey Japanese-style spot. It's calm and quiet enough to actually have a conversation, which I really appreciated. The owner was also cracking jokes throughout the night and kept everyone entertained, which made the experience feel even more personal. Food highlights: * Eihire (seared stingray fin) - 9/10. Great drinking snack, just wish there was more. * Grilled Angus beef tongue - 9/10. Tender with a really good jalapeño sauce. * Hokkaido uni tray with roasted nori - 10/10. Favorite dish of the night, easily. * Chicken liver, gizzard, and hearts in sweet soy - 10/10. Super rich and flavorful. * Whole grilled seabass - 9.5/10. Perfectly cooked, but could've used more ponzu. * Sous vide + grilled duck breast - 8/10. Solid, especially with salt and hot mustard. The mashed potatoes and roasted veggies on the side were . * Deep fried eel with ponzu - 7/10. Decent, but didn't stand out compared to the other dishes. * Sashimi (amberjack, hamachi, toro, sweet shrimp) - overall great. The sweet shrimp and fried head were 10/10, but the hamachi didn't quite match the rest. Also wish they gave more ginger upfront. * Roasted 5 kinds of vegetables - 7/10. Tasty but a bit pricey for the portion. * Sea snail - the only dish we wouldn't reorder. Not bad, just not our preferred style. Service was excellent. Our server gave great recommendations, kept our water filled, and checked in often without being overbearing. This is a 5-star spot largely because of the owner. Super down to earth, funny, and clearly passionate about both the food and the experience. Parking is free in a shared lot with other businesses. It's a decent size, so should be manageable. Definitely recommend making a reservation (they only take phone reservations)... but even if you don't, there's a good chance they'll still find a way to take care of you. I'd definitely come back to try more dishes.

Restaurant is located in a small strip mall, with a fair amount of parking. There isn't a flashy restaurant sign in front of the building, and once you step in, it truly feels like you are in a small, homey Izikaya in Japan. The restaurant only has a few booths, a few tables and bar seating inside, so reservations are highly recommended on a busy Saturday night. My boyfriend and I got lucky that they were able to accommodate us within 10 minutes, because there was seating available at the bar. There is a physical Drink menu (sake, beer, etc.) and the food menu can be viewed by scanning a QR code with your phone. The waitress made suggestions about which dishes she personally liked & we ordered whatever she suggested, along with some of the things we thought looked good. *7/10 Toro w/ seaweed *8/10 Moriwase (chef's selection of sashimi) 2 each of 5 different sashimi. There was one cut I did not particularly care for. *7/10 chicken wings *10/10 Beef tongue-- Tender, but firm. Delicious, a must try! *10/10 Ankimo-- creamy and paired well with the ponzu and fresh seaweed *10/10 Fried Seabass-- they served the entire fish, which is rare. *10/10 Sous-vide Duck breast-- must try! *10/10 Nikomi stew--simple, but delicious! *10/10 Matcha Oolong Panna Cotta-- subtly sweet with a smooth texture. It was so good, that we ordered two! The only reason that I only gave it a four out of five stars is because the service was slow. All of our dishes, came out in time, but no drink refills were given and the server never came back to collect our check for payment. So we had to walk it up to them ourselves. For a small space, with three servers, it shouldn't be hard to attend to all the customers. The menu can be pricey, but food is delicious! Along with exceptional service, eating here is worth it.
