We had lunch at Sweet Cheeks on Father's Day before the Red Sox game. Cool spot, nice atmosphere inside and out. I had Sliced Brisket, Pulled Pork, coleslaw, and potato salad. We also had a bucket of biscuits with butter and strawberry jam. Everything was outstanding. The brisket I think rivals some of the best I have had in Austin TX. I would definitely come back here.

We went to this place after the Sox game. Reservations were relatively easy to get. Atmosphere is casual, and the place gets busy and loud at peak hours, but it's a cool-looking spot. Our host and server were extremely nice and attentive, which really made the biggest impact on our experience. We ordered the bucket of biscuits appetizer, which is a popular item and a big standout: biscuits were fresh and warm, right out of the oven, and outstandingly good. The entrees were pretty good overall - I personally prefer ribs, and found them to be pretty tasty. The sliced brisket, another popular order, was also quite good with their homemade sauce.

While Sweet Cheeks Q hasn't been around for quite as long as Fenway Park, it's still an institution! The barbecue here is just plain amazing. Our table of four had 4 amazing lunches including platters with tender sliced brisket, pork belly, pulled pork and pulled chicken, and fried chicken sandwich. Everyone raved about their meals! The biscuits are amazing and someday I won't end the meal stuffed so that we can have one of theie amazing desserts. The decor is classic BBQ joint with some huge tables for groups, big TVs, plus quite a number of outside tables. The staff was pretty busy, just what you'd expect on a Saturday afternoon, plus they were dealing with internet problems, but they performed well in spite of everything. The hostess did a super job helping me get a table reserved over the phone as well.

Absolutely amazing place for BBQ in the Fenway area, let alone Boston. I am in complete regret that I haven't tried this place sooner. My girlfriend and I stopped by for lunch on a Saturday without reservations, and were seated immediately. We started off the feast with some freshly baked biscuits and butter-- WOW. A must have for the table. They were so soft inside, crispy on the outside, and paired so well with the salted butter. For our entrees, we each ordered a BBQ meat and picked two sides. My girlfriend ordered the pulled chicken with potato salad and coleslaw. I ordered the St. Louis dry rub style ribs, Mac & cheese, and BBQ baked beans. The entrees were also WOW. Double WOW for the two, actually. My girlfriend's chicken was perfectly cooked and tender, and her potato salad was incredible. Some of the best I've had, comparable to the one you find at the Cape. The Coleslaw was okay objectively (though I've never been a huge fan), but was unique in its presentation, the veggies were chopped very largely. For my entree, the STL ribs were to die for, and fell off the bone seamlessly. The Mac & cheese was also great, super flavorful, cheesy, and I loved the breadcrumbs. The BBQ beans were also super great, and had chunks of pulled pork which were absolutely delicious. The entire meal was absolutely amazing, and I'd recommend for everyone to come here for BBQ if you're in the Fenway area!

My wife and I arrived early for our reservation, we were seated without any fuss. As an appetizer we ordered Texas nachos. An interesting and savory dish. There was enough for two on this plate and it could have served as a meal! I ordered the giant smoked short rib. When they say "giant" they were not kidding! There was so much meat that two hungry people could not barely finish the entree. Along with the entree came two sides. I ordered a baked potato that I could not touch and a dish of mac and cheese. Fortunately, I was able to sample the mac and cheese for it was great. Takeaways: 1. A meat lovers paradise. 2. A BBQ goers delight. 3. Superb service. 4. Excellent portion to price. 5. Please note: Some entrees are pricey. 6. Parking is difficult. - It's Boston. If you like the review or the photos, feel free to leave a comment. Please 'follow'.

Wow. Just wow. Awesome food. It's a fun atmosphere because it's right near the ballpark and you can sit inside or outside. We opted for inside and it was a bit loud, but nothing bad. The service was great. The waitress gave great recommendations and they didn't disappoint. All the choices were spot on and I would definitely recommend it!!

When you live in RI, are binge watching Tournament of Champions and are heading to Boston... you head to Sweet Cheeks Q! Tiffani Faison's BBQ joint is the real deal. First off, sheik country vibe. LARGE mason jars of sweet tea (which were pretty tasty) and the Dolly Parton themed bathroom with a sticker machine?! Yes! Tiffani has won me over. Also- super cool that the TOC season 3 belt is here and on display. Then the food- The biscuits are large and in charge! Well worth getting and trying that honey butter. The pork belly was tasty but the real winner was the fried chicken! Super crispy but moist! Delicious! The pickles- what do they do to them? LOVED THEM! (We guess that there was mustard seed on them?) The mac and cheese was ok and the broccolini cheese casserole was tasty! Bottomline- I want to go back and try more on the menu. True score: 4.5 SHOUT OUT to our waiter Stevie- Super funny and informative! Thanks for a great visit!

The shining star on the menu - homemade biscuits with honey butter and strawberry jam.

You might be asking why someone from Texas would try BBQ in Boston. After going there and spending $$$, I asked myself the same thing. I really wanted to like the food. We tried the pulled chicken, pulled pork, pork belly, macaroni and cheese, fried okra and baked beans. The good: -Mac and cheese - on point and super creamy -Pork belly - tender and flavorful -Biscuits - these were AMAZING! I would literally go back and just order the biscuits. Super fluffy and yummy The bad - everything else. The meats lacked flavor and smoke and the okra was still slimy.

Brisket with Baked Potato and Farm Salad!

Have been here a few times now and have ordered with lots of stuff to share with fam, and also individual meals - first time coming here was meh, a bit pricey sadly and the sides were okay (got mac and cheese, potato salad, beans and butternut squash - I did really like this one). Second time was better - got the brisket which was super tender, and the farm salad/baked potato as sides both were delicious. The bottled sauces are also a good addition, I like to mix the small and large bbq bottles to make a medium spicy sauce. Also just keep in mind the additional fee for employees - it is not brought up until the check comes out and you'll see it as an additional line, on top of normal tip! Great service, would probably go back!

Sliced Brisket with Mac n cheese and broccoli cheese casserole

Overall I liked Sweet Cheeks! The sliced brisket was very solid, and I also got the Mac n cheese and broccoli casserole. I've never had broccoli cheese casserole like this, but I thought it was very tasty. The Mac tasted good, but it was quite liquidy and soupy which I wasn't a fan of. We also got the biscuits which are amazing--very soft and flaky with delicious honey butter. This is definitely some of the better food I've had in Boston, and would recommend it to others!

The food is good! The meat is flavored well and the sides are delicious. All the sandwiches come with pickles and onions on the side. I didn't have any drinks but they looked creative. While tasty, I believe it is slightly overpriced. Overall, the service is quick and receptive and the ambiance of the restaurant is cozy and chill.

The service was great, the appetizers were pretty decent, huge biscuits, great nachos. Now let's talk about the main attractions, the barbecue. I had the pork ribs and the brisket. This is a Texas style restaurant so the brisket should be the signature dish, but it was disappointing. It was a bit dry but lacked seasoning and smoke. I can deal with a lack of smoke, but if I have to ask for salt and pepper AND barbecue sauce, then there is an issue. The ribs did have a dry rub but it lacked salt so it was out of balance. It was better with barbecue sauce but not my favorite. I believe barbecue should stand on it's own before the sauce. I will give them another try because it could have just been a bad batch.

I don't like giving bad reviews. I eat and have eaten at most barbecue spots In Massachusetts and beyond . Fireflies Marlborough , Pig beach South Boston , All Blue Ribbon locations , all Smoke Shop locations, BT 's in Worcester and Sturbridge, Red bones Somerville , Commonwealth bbq in Wrentham , Tennessee's locations. Hadn't tried Sweet Cheeks as of yet as past times the parking was difficult. Ordered the 36 dollar 3 course special that ended up as 42.00 with add on charges .. extra dollar for spring roll, 2.00 more brisket, 3.00 'more for ribs. Initial impression is that this place is tired looking and needs cleaning up. But, I'm ok with nasty environment if the bbq is good as that is all that matters. Spring rolls were awful and sauce they came with was more awful and I think ruined my stomach for 2nd course. See the pics of the second course. Few small dried overcooked brisket slices, one was inedible. The ribs again small 4 ribs dry, salty, . Tender but no smoke flavors , then I saw was only 1 bottle of bbq sauce on counter... vs multiple flavors at all other bbq restaurants I visit. Then I saw a watery bottle not labeled that must be the vinegar bbq sauce... I thought too watery to be a sauce even ad Carolina style . The small bottle of the hot sauce not what I want on barbecue . I saw on menu I could order more sauces for 3 bucks each? WTF ... now I must buy my sauce? Side of Mac and cheese came with a crushed up ritz cracker on it? No taste to Mac and cheese ... Mac needed a smoke flavor or a powerful Flavor multi cheese or how about butter toast the cracker crumbs for flavor or ... as was just lame small portion. Give the chef a road trip to BT's to try their Mac and cheese with flavors at BT's The broccoli casserole side the same... no taste... just smashed up broccoli I something. I saw on fibers and drives interview with owner years ago it looked... said was her mother's recipe...I'd re-visit this as something missing... Both sides were cold as were the ribs. The desert was banana cream pudding ... I was expecting the picture on menu with the vanilla wafers. Instead it comes in Glass jar all flavorless cream ... I tasted no banana except 3 small pieces of 1 slice banana quartered into 4 qtr. cubes ...see picture... no spoon with it? Waitress brings the knives and forks can for me to I guess choose a utensil... no spoons .. ate with fork? Then receipt comes with added kitchen charge included to reward the kitchen for this wonderful awful meal they prepared and served? WTF again... over sixty bucks for this... no thank you again. I hurried home to lie down as honestly felt sick and assuming the overcooked egg rolls with minimal ingredients with nasty sauce started me off bad. The famous biscuit they talk about on menu ...there should be one on each meal tray as part of meal to at least try to promote a positive memory.... they charge per biscuit 4.50 and 3 bucks extra for Jam...lol... 7.50 for a biscuit and jam... how many ounces jam for 3.00... BYOJ, BYO sauce too. Sorry, no need to return ... mid sixties bucks for that meal not warranted. Mida next door was my 2nd choice... my bad not going Mida

Someone told me they served halal food,is this true?

I've been to Sweet Cheeks several times and have never seen halal food there nor have I seen it on the menu, unless it's something they prepare on request.

Is the big cheeks tray good for 2 people?

I'd say it's a comfortable meal for two with moderate appetites, especially if you get a bucket of biscuits to start (and really, that's a requirement).

They were the dark horse that I never would have thought about ordering normally. Biscuits for dinner? Eh. But they were delicious and lighter than expected and the pimento cheese I could have ate by the spoonfuls. The oysters were clean and delicious. Everything you hope to have from Northeast oysters especially being from Texas where most of the places here serve Gulf oysters that don't even come close to comparing. I could have drank the mignonette. The pimento mac n cheese was on point and flavorful (and again that pimento cheese, yum). The wagyu burgers were so good. The burger was tender and flavorful, the bread was soft and light and slightly sweet, and the onion ring added a great texture to the mix. Think of a amped up western burger. The ambiance was a cool vibe yet a home feel. We were seated quickly but it took awhile for anyone to acknowledge us. Service was good once it started and the food came out quickly. If we ever make it back to Boston, it will definitely be on our list to revisit. Great late dinner spot. Simple foods done right. (Oh, and the drinks were delicious. I wanted to try them all. Mine tasted exactly like an apple pie.)

Unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming overall. I ordered the signature gumbo and was very disappointed. It was extremely watery, heavily herb-flavored, and lacked the rich, traditional New Orleans-style roux I was expecting. For $25, the portion was also disappointing and only 2 shrimp, about 4 pieces of sausage, and one small piece of lump crab. The rice paired with it was actually flavorful and one of the better parts of the dish, but it couldn't save the gumbo itself. The Vermont butter biscuits were one of the highlights, absolutely delicious when served warm. They were soft, buttery, and flavorful. My only complaint is that the portion was too small. The brisket was tender, but it was served extremely cold, and the BBQ sauce that came with it was also ice cold, which really took away from the dish. The mac and cheese tasted exactly like frozen Stouffer's and was honestly the biggest disappointment of the meal. The fried pickles had good flavor, though I ordered them expecting more okra in the mix and there was barely any. The potato salad was surprisingly excellent, well-balanced, creamy, and one of the best things we tried. The cowboy steak bites had potential but were extremely overcooked, oily, and lacked flavor. Definitely not something I would order again. Service was inattentive throughout our visit. No one checked in to ask how the food was, remove menus, or acknowledge that I barely touched my gumbo. I had ordered two bowls, and only after bringing it to the manager's attention was it corrected. The atmosphere was another downside. The music was so loud that it was hard to hear the people at my table. We specifically made a 3:30 reservation because the website stated live music would end at that time until later in the evening, but that wasn't the case. The strawberry guava margarita was very good, but overall this wasn't the birthday brunch experience I had hoped for. Between the inconsistent food, inattentive service, and overall lack of attention to detail, I don't see myself returning.

After our night out, we all had mixed feelings about our experience. The interior is beautiful. It's classy and fun setting the scene for a nice vibe. service was nice but slow, we needed to flag down our waiter a couple times so we could order food. Some of the things we ordered were the fried catfish nuggets, braised oxtails, Mac and cheese and steak frites. Fried catfish bites were okay, the oxtail dish was tender but too sweet, Mac and cheese was standard and the steak was dry. I never mind paying top dollar for amazing dishes but these weren't it for us. Drinks were good though and the music was great. I'd suggest coming just to listen to a great live band and a nightcap.

The staff were friendly and attentive, and the service felt efficient even when the restaurant was busy. The food was the standout. The charcuterie board was especially impressive with a well-balanced selection, and the pizzas were flavorful with a nicely crisp crust and high-quality ingredients.

Salty Pig Pizza: A pizza with the same name as the restaurant! Who was the genius who came up with the idea of salted pig and beer caramel? It's brilliant! The salted pork appears to include Prosciutto di Parma from Langirano, Prosciutto Cotto, and Salcissia. Baking rendered the prosciutto's fat, which blends with the caramel to create a beautiful golden syrup that flows across the pizza's surface. The prosciutto was savory, oily, and tender; the minced salcissia retains its coarse texture and rich meaty aroma; the caramel was sweet and mellow with a honey-like sweetness, forming the top, middle, and base notes respectively. The arugula was slightly warmed, losing its astringent and raw taste while maintaining its crisp texture, helped to cut through the richness together with the Parmesan cheese powder. The crust was crispy, while the inside the dough was soft and chewy. The cooking time and seasoning were all just right, and the restaurant's proud wooden oven added a charming smoky flavor. Affogato: I had high expectations, but it was just okay. The espresso was too sour, and the vanilla ice cream couldn't balance it out. The almond biscuits had an overpowering almond flavor, and the flavor of plant-based protein was terrible! (Oh, this should have been a plus...)

I ordered from Coast Cafe expecting something special given all the awards and recognition--but…read morethis was a major letdown and honestly felt like a waste of money. Let's start with the "Jamaican" patties. These were not patties. They were empanada-style, lacking the flaky crust, seasoning, and depth you expect from a true Jamaican beef or chicken patty. At $5 each, that's not just disappointing--it feels misleading. Then the soul food. This is where it really fell apart. The chicken was dry, under-seasoned, and surprisingly small--more like an afterthought than a centerpiece. Soul food should be rich, flavorful, and comforting. This wasn't! The greens were another miss. No depth, no richness, and completely lacking the traditional pot liquor that gives them their signature flavor. It felt like a stripped-down version of what should be a staple dish. The only bright spot was the candied yams--they actually had flavor and were enjoyable. What's frustrating is the gap between reputation and experience. When a place has awards and hype, you expect authenticity, quality, and consistency. This didn't deliver on any of that. Overall, I wouldn't return. There are too many places doing this food the right way to spend money here again.

I got the mixed chicken plate with Mac n cheese and candied yams. The chicken was very good--fried very well with great seasoning, a crispy exterior, and juicy interior. The Mac was very gooey and cheesy. And the yams were excellent as well. I thought the texture of the yams was near perfect--not too hard but not too soft and mushy either. Also not overly sweet. I also felt like the price was very fair. A lot of times, similar entrees can cost near $30, but this was just over $20 which was super reasonable especially for the quality. The staff was very kind and friendly as well. Keep in mind that the interior is quite small, so plan ahead on whether you're going to eat inside or take it to go. But overall I'd recommend this to anyone in the area, and I'd love to go back!
