This is the definition of a hidden gem... we were unsure at first as we walked down the hallway, went through the doorway and rang the little smiley faced bell on the counter. Then our whole morning became such an unforgettable experience ... the server was the sweetest person. She explained the menu items, ingredients and the care that went into making the food. The drinks were served in reusable bags, Do NOT skip out on the plantation tea... DELICIOUS!!! Everything we had exceeded our expectations and tasted delicious. The food was hot, fresh, perfectly seasoned and some of the best we have had on Oahu! We are definitely going to make this a regular breakfast spot! Don't judge this book by its cover! Food was amazing! Our daughter brought us here and we had, admittedly, a little apprehension considering where it is located. Service was very friendly, we hit the lunch rush and had to wait a bit, but I'm telling you these are some ono grinds! The ambiance was the most off setting, it's obvious they just opened and are putting their money into their product. Which, again, was out of this world. We had a few plates which we shared. Bubble waffle w/ chicken House fried rice (my favorite) Spring rolls with a side of the house noodles. Orange chicken. We had the house made gyoza ( must order) fried to perfection with homemade fried noodles too & roasted chicken with fried rice with crispy bacon bits! We shared each plate. The service was so great! I found this place on yelp and was so happy I ventured out. I parked on the side of the building. It wasn't busy when I came. It's kinda tucked away in an industrial area of Aiea. My map got me there and I just followed the signs into the building and down the hall. There is a little waiting area and a side room to sit in. The woman who greeted me was so incredibly friendly! Offered me a nice ice cold water as I waited for my pickup. I got the bubble waffle (gluten free), ahi poké bowl with salad, and the spring rolls with salad. She even gave me some peach tea to try and give to the kiddos. Everything was delicious! There is a vertical banner with a Lucky Cat at the top of the drive by the street. I just parked on the street and walked down the incline to the entrance on the side of the building. Very difficult find this little gem of a restaurant, however the service is over the top! Located in the Halawa industrial area, you either have to already know where it is, or call to have the owner meet you on the street. As tourists, we're kind of lost anyways but imagine our surprise that the GPS brought us to an industrial area to eat at Sweet Corner Cafe. The signage with the adorable cat pointing us to the restaurant assured us we had arrived. Thankfully, our scout located the front door and the rest of our party was greeted at the door by Chelsea (spelling?) She provided the most gracious, personable, and well-informed service the whole visit. The ambiance is simple - which allows the amazing service and food to shine. First - Chelsea offers personalized and kind service and explains each dish in detail. Second - Every single dish we ate was SO ONO! They use local and/or organic ingredients whenever possible. We devoured the House Fried Rice, House Gyoza with Noodles and Bubble Waffle. The banners and signage make it easy enough to find this spot, plus the pictures from other Yelpers. Reviewing the pictures ahead of time really helped. Parking in the complex is available and there is also street parking. Amazing food with everything cooked/prepared fresh upon order - we had the beef gyoza and noodles, butterfly pea lemonade, roasted chicken, Portugese egg tarts, croissant, and fruit teas. Every dish and drink we had was flavorful and fresh. Portion size is great in relation to the cost. I was blown away by the Portugese egg tarts and its fluffy, yet still dense and full, consistency. Like other Yelpers mentioned, Chelsea is friendly and attentive. She took her time explaining the menu options and how they prepared their dishes and beverages. My family and I live on the North Shore and we always come into mid-O'ahu to shop and eat. We're always googling to places to eat and I was excited to see this GEM pop up. I'm also subscribed to "Food Fiend" on YouTube and remember her trying this place. Watching her video made it easy to find. Parking is tight alongside the wall, but there's a lot of parking on the street and it isn't too far of a walk to find. It's a unique dining experience, but it's all good. It can get a bit stuffy because the eating area is within a room with no windows but there are fans that keep it cool with cute cat artwork on the walls. Upon arriving we were greeted by Chelsea! OMG, she is one of the best servers/waitresses we have ever met. Super friendly, sweet, personable; and her customer service is IMPECCABLE!!! She's very communicative and truly embodies the "aloha" spirit. The food was really good. Everything very tasty, well seasoned, and perfectly cooked, I really enjoyed the roasted chicken. Chelsea did warn us ahead of time that the roast chicken takes a little bit longer. But my family weren't complaining because everything is made to order, so you're guaranteed fresh food each time. My son ate all of his gyoza and noodles and loved the capri sun feel to the drinks. I highly recommend the roasted chicken, which will take a while to make. But it's so juicy and tender. It's a HUGE portion and the dipping sauce drives it over the edge. The food all feels nostalgic and gives off time and love of a well prepared home cook meal. I really loved the Portuguese egg tarts. What a find! Hidden in Halawa valley, amongst the industrial buildings, is this diamond in the rough. This small, family owned business brings delicious, home made goodies to your table. We shared the fried noodles with gyoza. Chelsea runs the front and explained to us that both the noodles and the gyoza is homemade by her and her mom. The noodles were perfectly cooked, chewy how I like it, with excellent flavor and a hint of spice. The gyoza was juicy and bursting with flavor. It didn't even need the sauce that came with it. We finished off our meal with a homemade chocolate croissant that her dad makes. Wow! Flaky, and not super buttery with just the right amount of chocolate. Was so good we bought one for our son to go. Chelsea was so nice she ended our meal with a small taste of their homemade unsweetened peach black tea. Yum! It was a great finish after lunch. She even gave a pouch to go with my son's croissant! Please stop by and eat local. This family works hard and puts out delicious food.
