    Coconut Shrimp

Sweet Corner Café in Oahu was absolutely incredible. We ordered all gluten free items, and everything was perfect. The orange chicken was crispy, flavorful, and coated in the perfect sauce. The coconut shrimp was amazing, and the tempura chicken was so good that you would never guess it was gluten free. We also had the pineapple sausage, gluten free fried rice, and locally sourced organic eggs, and every single item was fresh, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared. Chelsea, our waitress, was on top of everything from start to finish. She was funny, kind, and very educational when explaining the food items and their preparation processes. After running a half marathon today, I was exhausted, and Chelsea genuinely lifted my spirits. It is rare to find gluten free food this good, especially fried items with such great texture and flavor. Sweet Corner Café exceeded every expectation. This place is a must visit in Oahu, whether you eat gluten free or not. Sweet Corner Café in Oahu was absolutely incredible. We ordered all gluten free items, and everything was perfect. The service is still delightful, the food is still tasty and the proportions are generous. If I had any complaint it would be the location. But it's not enough of a complaint to keep me away. We love stopping by for a quick bite or to grab takeout.

We searched Yelp for a good coffee and gluten free place. I was intrigued with the great reviews Sweet Corner Cafe got. The location sounded less than desirable but I really wanted to try this place out. It really wasn't that difficult to find if you know it's in an industrial area. Menekune water facility is close by. Once you find the address and park. You walk around back and go past a youth basketball court. It's kinda like going to have dinner at a friend's house. Definitely doesn't look like a restaurant. There's not alot of space inside and it's very basic. We were greeted by a high energy server named Chelsea. She explained everything on the menu quickly in great detail. There's tons of gluten free options. We ordered an ice coffee, matcha lemonade , fried rice and baked chicken. Everything was delicious. Chelsea even gave us a lemonade to go. The service was amazing. Everything is sourced locally and fresh. Definitely will be back.

I have gluten, soy, and dairy allergies, and stumbled upon Sweet Cafe on a Yelp search. I called ahead and found that they do have gluten free, dairy free, and soy free items on their menu. Score! We used Waze and it lead us directly to the location which seemed a little hidden, but we saw signs so it wasn't too hard. We were greeted by Chelsea and I felt safe to eat there. She let me know what items I could have on the menu. We ordered the orange chicken, fried rice, bubble waffle, poke & spring rolls. Afterwards, I learned that there was edamame in the spring rolls which isn't soy free. But I was happy to be able to eat well with the rest of the items we have ordered, which we shared the items with our party of 5. The cafe is a little small, but I was nice and cozy. It was pretty busy for lunch, but Chelsea was still energetic and always with a smile. Everything we ate was great and delicious! Thank you Chelsea for taking care of me and my family, and I loved the complimentary drink. I can't wait to visit here again when I come back to Hawaii.

Always love the food and service! Mahalo Chelsea for your hard work and sincerity! First time trying the Gluten Free Orange Chicken. They use tapioca powder for the batter. It's Excellent! Beef Gyoza and Szechuan noodles is always my go-to favorite. Iced Teas are a Must-try! MAHALO!

This place is the epitome of a hidden gem, mom-and-pop spot! + Food: I came for the egg tarts, but they have a wide range of stuff on their menu: from main dishes, to desserts, to lemonades and milk tea. The egg tarts were great, 8/10: great fillings, but the bottom was a bit soft. They were freshly baked tho which I really appreciate!! + Space and service: Amazing service! She was super sweet and even gave me a lemonade for the wait. It's a small restaurant with some seatings. Not too hard to find, just follow the signs downstairs. Plenty of street parkings.

Look for this entrance... down a sloped driveway...

Lunch in Aiea, Hawaii... If you're good at following GPS directions, you'll be able to find Sweet Corner Cafe. It's located deep in the industrial area of Halawa Valley - across from Menehune Water. Note: I've wanted to visit ever since I read Glen's Review of the Day (ROTD)! I parked on the steep driveway, right at the entrance to the building. After walking down a hallway, I found the cute café with the helpful signs. Chelsea was the very friendly, efficient server. She showed me the menu online, explained everything, and was a good conversationalist. I ordered the Matcha Lemonade which came in a BPA-free reusable bag. It was on the sweet side, so I added some water. I needed hydration anyway! My lunch was the Spring rolls, fried in avocado oil. They didn't seem greasy at all, but we're crunchy! The baby spinach was locally grown and fresh! The Portuguese Egg Tart had a flakey crust and dense filling. It was a nice dessert! As I was leaving, Chelsea gave me a complimentary bag of Hibiscus Lemonade. It was refreshing! Thank you!

I would say that Forty Niner is a great place to get the bang for your buck in terms of pricing for their food, but I will say that the quality of the food isn't as great as it's presented on their ordering site, Beluga. Today, my husband and I chose to do takeout and ordered three things: The Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Chorizo Hash, and the Molokai Loco Moco. For the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, the lemon taste was pretty concentrated in the middle of the pancake/not well distributed and we couldn't really taste the ricotta flavor, but it was pleasantly sweet (not too sweet). For the Chorizo Hash, I was a little bit sad that it wasn't very flavorful and the Chorizo wasn't well cooked. The Molokai Loco Moco's flavor receives the same review as the Chorizo Hash; although it was special/the first time we'd had Loco Moco like that, it was pretty soggy/watery and lacked flavor. The food itself in my opinion gets a 3.5/5, but because they were timely and friendly as a staff, I'm bumping our review up to a 4! P.S: This location is in the corner of a neighborhood street and Kam Hwy and the parking is pretty small/limited!

I remember loving the previous restaurant that occupied this spot (Asian Grindz), so I decided to give New Town Cafe a try. I called the day before to order a small party pan of Fried Udon, and wow - it was really good! They were very generous with the beef, udon, and veggies. Unfortunately, the whole reason I ordered fried udon was to avoid eggs for my nephew, but I completely forgot to mention that when I placed the order... oops! Lol! He just skipped the noodles that day, but the adults were more than happy to enjoy his share for him! When I called to ask about pickup, I was hoping for 10am, but was told the earliest it could be ready was 10:30. I said, "Shux! I'll already be back in Ewa Beach by then, so it's okay." To my surprise, the woman on the phone offered to have it ready earlier, and we settled on 10:15 instead. I really appreciated her willingness to accommodate my schedule. As we were heading to the pickup, the same woman called letting me know my order was ready - it was almost 10am on the dot! Early!! She was also very friendly at the pickup window, which made the experience even better. The pricing was fair too - $60 for a small party pan. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu... and especially for another order of that delicious Fried Udon! Thank you to the New Town Cafe staff for the prompt and accommodating service! :)

We ordered the cold ginger chicken, loco moco, pork chop with gravy, and sesame balls. I have to say, I really miss the cold boneless ginger chicken the way it used to be made. It was one of my favorite dishes here. Unfortunately, the food just didn't have the flavor I was hoping for. The pork chop in particular tasted a little off to me, and instead of the Chinese-inspired flavors I remembered, the dishes felt more like local comfort food with a bit of Chinese flair. The overall experience also felt a little lacking in warmth and friendliness. I know many restaurants are facing challenging times, and it's never my intention to leave a low review. I genuinely want local businesses to succeed. But one thing I've learned throughout my food journey is that when food is made with love, you can taste it. It's more than just the ingredients--it's the care, pride, and aloha that come with it. And when that feeling is missing, you notice it too. This is simply my honest experience. No hate, just Queenie keeping it real. I'm hoping this was just an off day, and I truly wish them the best moving forward.
