This place is a Diamond in the rough. Located in the industrial area, it's a little tricky to find. Once we found it, we received a very warm welcome from the staff. The main seating area was full so we sat in another room. Everything we ordered was amazing, I ordered the chocolate croissant and my boyfriend ordered the bubble waffle. The chocolate croissant was to die for and he really enjoyed his waffle. Would really like to go back and try some of their lunch items, the orange chicken sounded amazing and everything was reasonably priced. Simple mom and pop cafe. Very chirpy and hospitable server. Presentation is slightly demure but the taste is very homey and delicious. Food is tasty without the after effects of bloating and sleepiness which we oftentimes get from regular restaurant meals. The usage of avocado oil and organic ingredients are very appreciated considering how difficult it is to find restaurants that don't use seed oils and other inflammation inducing ingredients. Loved the vanilla latte, so refreshing and naturally sweet. The lady said something about using honey instead of sugar. The caramel macchiato tastes delicious as well, although I couldn't really taste the caramel flavor. We went at a time when it was semi-busy. We mobile ordered our drinks so it was ready by the time we got there. It comes in these reusable pouches, which I thought was so cute. you'll definitely get asked where you got those drinks from, which I have happily directed them to this business. I rarely leave yelp reviews but this one was a no brainer. Being gluten and dairy free, anytime I travel the first thing I do is research the best places I can eat. This place has glowing reviews so we came by to give it a try, and loved it so much we came back again the next day! The location is super unassuming, we thought we were lost at first until we found and followed the signs. The first day we came it was pretty busy, we decided to opt for take out and the service from Chelsea was incredible. We came back again on a Saturday and didn't even know they have CAT-URDAYS where the owners cat hangs out in the cafe which was the best surprise ever Over both days we ended up getting the orange chicken, coconut shrimp, spring rolls and bubble waffle. Everything was gluten free and SO SO amazing. We were shocked at the high quality and level of care they put into their food -- mostly organic and gf whenever possible. They use avocado oil and tapioca for breading. The iced teas were all incredible also. Chelsea is such a sweetheart and took time with each customer. Ate here recently and thoroughly enjoyed the food and the staff. I ordered the orange chicken with rice. The orange chicken was some of the best that I have ever had. The rice was a simple white rice, so not too much to say about that. I had 3 dining companions with me with one ordering the chicken and waffles, the other two having the house fried gyoza with the noodles. The chicken is two boneless breast pieces that are fried to perfection with a nice bubbly waffle. The gyoza came in chicken and beef again paired with the noodles. The gyoza and noodles were awesome. The cafe has a wide variety of teas that are served in a bag; somewhat hard for me to explain. The cafe is located in an industrial complex and parking may be a little difficult. Once inside the complex, the cafe is down a hallway. Chelsea was the only employee that we dealt with and she is amazing. As waitresses ourselves it was clear to see that our server enjoys her job and knows how to make customers feel appreciated and cared for. She knew the menu like the back of her hand. There are 3 smallish tables available for dining in but they seem very efficient with take-out orders. Today is a "cat day". The cat is in its own fully enclosed net tent. I follow Food Fiend on YouTube and I was amazed to discover Sweet Corner Cafe through Misty's Halawa finds video. I live in Halawa Heights so I'm always looking for unique and tasty grinds in my area. I made the decision to check them out last night. Right off the bat, let me just say that Chelsea is an amazing person who will make you feel welcome, even as she takes your phone order. I decided on the BBQ baby back ribs with fried rice, a shoyu tofu poke bowl, a couple of custard tarts, and an iced vanilla latte for my wife. She let me know that it would take a while to prepare my food as they make everything to order, and I would receive a text when everything was ready. Half an hour later I receive the text and jumped in my car. Note: I've been to a few restaurants on Iwaena Street in the past but this was a first to find a restaurant on Halawa Valley Road. It's a little spooky at night so if you're not familiar with the area, drive carefully. The cafe is on your right as you drive down Waiua Pl. and if you see the Pint Size ice cream factory at the end of the street, you know you're near. There is limited parking along the side of the driveway but on this evening there was a container trailer parked so I didn't want to chance driving down. I just parked above street-side. Walk down the driveway and there's a sign directing you to the cafe. Go down the well-lit hallway and you've arrived. The restaurant is a quaint little place, clean as a others have mentioned, and decorated with cute figurines and artwork. Ring the bell and Chelsea will come out to greet you. She showed my the food packed in the container - looked great and wrapped them and the beverages for me. She kept on thanking me for checking them out - such a sweetie! Oh by the way, she gave me a peach tea on the house. At home my wife and I couldn't wait to dig in. The tofu poke was very tasty - just a subtle shoyu sauce and onions over white rice. My wife really liked it. Chelsea said they make their tofu in-house. The ribs were great as well: Four tender pieces in that I suspect was a shoyu and five spice glaze presented over a bed of mixed greens. I enjoyed their version of fried rice which had bacon and just a wee bit of szechuan spiciness. My wife really liked the vanilla latte and I enjoyed the refreshing iced peach tea. The dan tans were amazing (I wish I had more, hehe). These are Macau style in puff pastry with the custard browned just a bit. They pass the Asian dessert test: "Not too sweet." Great food and super service. I really want Sweet Corner Cafe to thrive in my corner of the universe. Check them out, you'll be glad you did. read more

DEFINITELY returning to this little hidden gem tucked away in the Halawa industrial area! We enjoyed the orange chicken and gyoza with garlicky noodles and corn cheese on a stick - even ordered freshly baked chocolate croissant and Portuguese egg tarts for take away desserts. The sweets were still warm from the oven...*faint*! What made the experience more so enjoyable is all due to Chelsea - her sunshiney and high energy puts the "Sweet" in this little cafe's name. Chelsea is such an angel! Her warm, welcoming personality and sweet demeanor is one other restaurants could learn from (I used to be a waitress so trust, I know...). I ordered a chicken sausage breakfast combo, gyoza (they hand make them, fried noodles (hey make these too, a bubble waffle, and a peach white tea (I think it was peach). Almost all of their ingredients are organic, and your food is made to order so you will have a little wait but it's worth it. While I was waiting, I got to sample a fresh croissant and a different type of iced black tea, which was really good! The venue is small and tucked away so use your GPS but I'm suspecting if they keep up this amazing service, they will grow out of that location pretty quickly! I will definitely be returning . This spot is definitely tucked away, but when you make your way back, you won't regret it! It's quaint and Chelsea kept the show moving with a warm smile, even while running the front of house all on her own and accommodating for the many people who came in for takeout. My husband and I drove straight from the airport and were hungry. We had the gyoza, orange chicken and poke bowl and everything was delicious! She learned our names, and everyone else's, and thanked us numerous times for coming to visit. She even sent us with an ice tea lemonade drink to go that had hibiscus and local honey. Yum! I bought 3 Portuguese Egg Tart: sweet custard and very flaky crust not to egg flavor which I was afraid of but it was well balance, the vegetarian spring rolls are good, make sure you eat it right away it's nice and crispy and not oily which I expect from a spring roll, now they do have sweet chili sauce for you to dip your spring rolls, Ice cinnamon latte was sweet for my taste wanted to try it since it's cinnamon.. All I can say is that I am coming to try other item from this place. We went there for the very first time on Sunday with a friend. She was the one who suggested it because of the GF options. We were met with the friendliest server. Sorry, I forgot her name. She brought us the menu (on her laptop) and explained all the all the GF offerings. Our friend got the GF poke bowl, I got the fried noodles, which was quite tasty. There was something in there that I can't get my tastebuds on that made it different. I had a iced milk tea/coffee combo for that extra caffeine jolt. The Mrs got the chicken and bubble waffle which was made with a mochi batter. Crunchy and chewy, savory and sweet all at the same time. Mrs got a matcha lemonade. Luckily we had a reservation. It got a bit crowded, but that's ok. I don't know how your one server can keep everything in check, but she did. She even had a couple of hibiscus teas for us when we left. We had a great time.
