Ugh, these places with the sweets alway drags me in which means whatever they're doing, it's working.... lol... I didn't know it was the same as the second street location when I walked in... lol... Another ditzy moment. I saw someone having a slice of cake that looked amazing while having bunch that I needed to hunt this place down. Of course it was Sweet Jill with all the amazing cake slices and fresh baked pastries. This location is smaller than Belmont shores but both on an amazing street. Stores and restaurants along the front. Of course same, they're cash only. I noticed one of the cakes that was excellent at the other location that it was a must again. Plus the coconut cake was different here. It was strawberry coconut which we had to try it out. And of course their cinnamon roll. It's an additional fee if you wanted glaze on it. Wouldn't it just be easier to add it to the fee already. Guess it gives people the option if they want it or not. The fresh baked goods are alway tasty and delicious. I haven't had their cookies in such a long time as it's been a slice of cake and cinnamon roll lately. It's always a must to have something sweet here. The staff here were all excellent and very friendly. Reminder, it's CASH only. Plenty of parking along the street if you were lucky enough to get a spot.

Best cinnamon roll in the area, it's shareable and served soft and warm and fluffy. They have regular as well but I went with the walnut one, it was paired with drizzled icing on top and was absolutely positively delicious . You won't be disappointed on a lot of treats. But try the cinnamon rolls!!!!

You know how the best part of a cinnamon roll is the middle, because it's softer? That isn't the case here, in the best way. The entire cinnamon roll is soft and delicious! You do have to pay an extra $0.50 for the icing but it's definitely worth it. The cinnamon rolls are literally the best I've ever had in my life. Perfectly warm, rich in that cinnamon flavor and oozing with the gooey icing. My husband and I also got a piece of the coconut cake which was moist and rich in flavor. The coconut flakes were not overbearing throughout the cake and the icing with the flakes was perfect. Truly one of the best pieces of coconut I have had. Lastly, we also tried the almond coffee cake and it was equally tasty. However, I did not taste much coffee. The almond and blueberries in the cake were really good and the cake itself was delicious, I just wish it had a richer coffee flavor. Unfortunately, Sweet jill's is cash only so bring at least $20. I did not see the prices posted either just fyi. There is an ATM machine where you can withdraw cash from though. The shop was small, with very little seating but the employees were quick and efficient. Our three items were about $18.

The bakery case at Sweet Jill's is a thing of beauty. Cakes, brownies, cookies, pastries including huge cinnamon rolls and somehow more that I'm forgetting. There are so many beautiful items to choose from it's hard to know where to start. I saw at least 10 things I wanted when I stopped in. I settled on a chocolate chip brownie that was super dense and pretty delicious. Service was quick and friendly but it's a cash only business so don't get caught with no paper. It's on the busy Main Street in Seal Beach with street parking or neighborhood parking so be ready to walk a few blocks. A tasting menu would be so fun here - where you could pick five things but smaller slices for example so you can try more of their beautiful creations. This is a must stop if you love bakeries and are in Seal Beach.

We came on a Friday early evening and got a cinnamon roll to share. I do believe they have one of the better cinnamon rolls, the cinnamon wasn't as fresh this time around so it wasn't gooey like it usually is. Still, it is very good and I literally can't complain. The store has a small strip of seating, but it was very warm in there. The worker was very nice and provided good service. Sweet Jill's has been around forever--and for good reason. But let me give you a heads-up: they only accept CASH. No Venmo, no Zelle, no Apple pay either just good old-fashioned paper money. For your "convenience," their own ATM setup inside with a $2 fee. So if you want to avoid the surcharge, plan ahead and bring enough cash. Now onto the sweet stuff, literally. There are so many tempting dessert options here. It's basically a danger zone for your waistline (you've been warned ). I ordered everything to go: the Lemon Bar for myself, and the Cherry Deep Dish and Coconut Cake for my boyfriend. The lemon bar was the perfect balance of sweet and tangy honestly sooo good! My boyfriend happily devoured his picks. He's a longtime fan of Sweet Jill's, so no surprise there. If you're in the area and have a sweet tooth, this place is a must-try. Just remember cash is king at Sweet Jill's.

We went to Seal Beach yesterday and had dessert at Jill's Sweet Bakery which is right near the pier on Main Street. The first thing you notice about this bakery is the amazing smell. It is probably from the cinnamon rolls, but wow. Great! They have a lot of sweets. We decided on the German chocolate cake and I got the walnut brownie cake. They were both delicious and a nice way to end our two hour stroll around the beach shops. I highly recommend coming here for dessert to take home. They have cookies, macaroons, all types of baked goods, cakes, cinnamon rolls, brownies, etc.

This place is a staple in seal beach and though I've walked by it many times I've never gone in. Strolled by on a Sunday and decided to try. Got the snickerdoodle cookie, chocolate chip cookie, and sugar cookie. Also got their famous cinnamon roll (icing on the side) and a slice of German chocolate cake. They have a HUGE selection of baked goods inside. It's a tiny space with a huge bakery display. All the cakes slices and cheesecake slices and cinnamon rolls are ginormous with a size value for the money. The cookies are extremely dry and crunchy. They are not soft. I prefer soft cookies so they are not it for me. I can see why people love their cinnamon rolls. They are sweet and full of cinnamon. The German chocolate cake was rich and sweet. The frosting was delightful. They have a sign that says cash only. If you use Apple Pay or a credit card they will 3.5% to your bill as a fee. I didn't have cash so used AP. This place isn't cheap, they definitely charge boutique pricing for their fresh baked goods and good for them. The service is fast and friendly. My opinion is that the inconveniences of the parking difficulties (by the beach so limited parking), plus the cash only or additional fees, and the higher end pricing does not justify a special trip out here. But if you're already at the beach and looking for a sweet treat than stop by and check it out.

Great little sweet shop on Main Street. My to go for coffee cake & snickerdoodle cookie place for ages. Great staff with great service. The place is small therefore just in to get the sweet goods then out, but plenty of sweet smell of bake goods. There is or are benches outside thought the street and one right infront of the shop in case you want to seat and enjoy the sweets. Just yum!

*CASH ONLY* The smell of baked goods hits you right from the get go. The showcase is filled with massive-sized treats, so many options. I went with the original cinnamon roll and blueberry coffee cake. The cinnamon roll was 7/10 - not bad and also not the best I've ever had. Would buy again though if I had the craving and was nearby. Other items that caught my eye and I'll have to try next time: Oreo brownie, cheesecake, cookies. read more

A friend recommended me this place, and I had to try it out! The place is quite small, but their desserts are pretty big! The workers were very nice and just to let you know currently they only take cash! They have a wide variety of pastries and desserts to choose from! I got the cookie dough cheesecake bar and the strawberry cheesecake bar! The cookie dough cheesecake bar was absolutely delicious. I'm shocked I've never had something like it before. The strawberry cheesecake bar was good too, it wasn't too sweet and the strawberry flavor wasn't overpowering. read more

My besties & I will make the 2-hour drive to go to Sweet Jill's. We tell people we are going to Seal Beach to pick up men, because Seal Beach has the best men and the best place to pick up a man in Seal beach is Sweet Jill's! It's the gingerbread men! This last trip, I also got an orange cranberry muffin, and I do believe it's my new religion! Cash only so hit the ATM before you go. read more

We love Sweet Jill's! We try some new things but have our 'go-tos' that we keep going back to! Favorites include the German chocolate upside down cake & cherry blueberry coffee cake. This time I tried an almond croissant and it was delicious/ I'll definitely get that again!! Keep in mind it is Cash only & parking can be tight cuz it's near the beach but we try to go early in the morning so it's not an issue. read more

Overall, it's a solid bakery that keeps it simple and does what it's good at. They've got a big mix of cookies, cakes, and bars, but the cinnamon rolls are what they're known for. The cinnamon roll I thought lived up to the hype. It's a good size to share. The snickerdoodle cookie was humongous, the size of my face. The banana walnut cake and carrot cake were my faves, both really good. The chocolate parfait seemed to be my daughter's favorite. Want to come back for sure to try some other items. read more

Keep in mind this is cash only, but they have an ATM inside !! Sweet Jill's is a staple for my family, we visit every time we go to seal beach. The desserts are great, and they always have an abundance! We typically go closer to closing times and we are still able to get the things we want. The inside is small, so when it's busy it gets a bit crowded. Sometimes the workers seem rushed. I'm not sure if it's a policy thing but even when I'm the only one there I get asked what I want so many times despite saying I'm not ready yet. It feels like they just want to get it over with. Despite this, I think the desserts are great! I wish they had an option to reheat some desserts, but it's all great as-is too :) read more

Cupcake Tour - stop four and the final stop We started out today with 9 cupcakeries on our list. We made it to four. :) I think our first flaw in the plan is that we shared two cupcakes at the first two places. By stop 3 we could only handle one. By this, the fourth and final stop, we had to get these To Go and eat them later tonight. If you are planning your own Cupcake Tour, I recommend you just share one cupcake at each location. Find out what their bestselling cupcake is and go with that. Better yet, bring a couple friends and have four forks! Today we ordered the Chocolate with Cream Cheese frosting and the Strawberry ($5.50) The size of these cupcakes is enormous. Upon walking in, you are hit in the olfactories with the sweet smell of baked cinnamon. Fast service and great pastries. Husband got us two cinnamon rolls and a cherry and blue berry muffin. It's a tiny place, so when there are other people, you and other people will be excusing yourselves as you try to move toward the cash register. They are cash only, but they do have an ATM machine in the corner. read more

If you want to find a good Bakery, this is the best place to go to when you want something fast and easy. The Pineapple Upside Down Cake is moist and flavorful, and it tastes so fresh and warm and has real pieces of Pineapple in it which is very rare to find. And the Bread Pudding is one of the best you can find right by the Beach, and it's ginormous and has such a delicious taste and texture, it's like eating a real good dessert, because Bread Pudding should be in more restaurants and bakeries, because it's the most delicious thing ever invented. If you want to go to a good Bakery this is a must have if you're in Seal Beach. read more

Finally got myself in here. And I can see what the hype is all about. There was a line when we got there and a line when we left. Sweet Jill's is not a place to order and sit around to enjoy your delicious treats. It's kind of like a donut spot where you pick your baked goods and walk out with them. We got to enjoy our goodies at the beach, which is a plus for this spot. Everything was super moist with so much flavor!!!! The desserts here are sweet as it's store name applies. Between the two desserts we ordered, the Coffee Cake is what I would recommend trying. It had hints of berries and chocolate that go perfectly together. The cinnamon roll is very sweet due to the frosting (... and that is coming from someone who enjoys sweet desserts.) For some reason, the coffee cake was way better the next day - the piece shown in the photo is actually smaller because it was devoured quickly. The store doesn't really have air conditioning, so it is warm to try to eat there. The staff are sweet and there is a large selection of desserts, so most customers can probably find something they can enjoy. read more

Thank goodness I haven't been here since 2019, but I was trying a new restaurant across the street and "just felt" I was close, so I took a quick look before getting into my car... and I WAS RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET!! Win-win! I ran in, took a quick look, wanted to try something different, but just couldn't decide. Another customer came in and I told him he could go ahead of me. He smiled and said, "get the cinnamon roll... period" I got it WITH nuts, of course, but was able to say "easy on the iciing" I had this once before, but this time, since I only got ONE thing, it stood out and the other customer was right. IT WAS INCREDIBLE. Next time, I'll put on my big girl panties and say "no icing" please.... after all, it's sweet enough and I just know the cinnamon sugar will carry me through! read more

Super yummy cakes.. I always come here if I crave for sweets.. the chocolate and carrot cakes are my fav, they are moist and the sweetness is just right. Cinnamon roll is the best too. They only accept cash - this helps though from spending too much on sweets LOL read more

Love all the delicious baked goods at Sweet Jill's. I've been to both this one and 2nd street. I always stop by when I'm down by the beach. My mouth is watering as I'm describing the goodies there. Everything is delicious. I love the pecan caramel rolls they melt in your mouth delicious the cinnamon rolls are outrageously delicious all of her cookies are divine. I even had a cupcake last time that I was in the second street location with the sprinkles and it was like the perfect birthday cake taste.. read more

Visited last weekend and wasn't really that impressed. The few items we order were a bit dry and not much favor. The price was a bit high but it's located close to the ocean. The place looked cleaned and the service was okay. The items didn't taste homemade and my sister thought maybe they were just old. Also, it's cash only which to me is a bit strange. Makes me would if they're reporting all their transactions or just a few. If you do use Apple Pay they charge you a fee. read more

I had such high hopes for this place because I could smell the sweets cooking from across the street. The service was great. They say cash only but they to take Apple Pay and debit card or credit cards. Everything looked so delicious I didn't know what to get. I ended trying the carrot cupcake. The size was amazing. 2 people can eat it. But I believe in quality over quantity. The best thing was the icing, it was super delicious not overly sweet. The problem was with the cupcake. It lacked in Flavor a lot. I didn't get much carrot or spices. No nutmeg or cinnamon or anything. It tastes like flour with a little bit of carrot and nuts. Would I try this place again maybe, but I wouldn't go for the cakes. Maybe a cookie. read more

First time visiting Sweet Jill's since my husband and I wanted something sweet after our lunch. So many choices it was so hard to decide. We ended up choosing the walnut brownie and the peanut butter cookie. Both were very good. The brownie is huge, just a little bit dry but very tasty. The texture is more cake like versus fudgie so depending on your brownie preference you may or may not like it. While it is tasty, my husband likes his brownies more fudgie bit it is still good and chocolatie. It would have been perfect if we had a nice tall glass of milk or a cup of coffee. The peanut butter cookie was crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. Hit the spot! Next time I want to try the carrot cake or the snickerdoodle cookie! There is no room to sit and enjoy your baked goods in the bakery but you can certainly take it to the beach to enjoy! read more

Walked in here on a Tuesday afternoon because I'm obsessed with sweets. They had a huge selection, and I did see some amazing looking sticky buns in the back. But I decided to get the coconut cake, thinking it'd be moist and coconutty like the famed Tom Cruise Coconut cake. Sadly, it was not. It's MID. Mediocre. Meh. This is the most righteous place to go after a walk in DT Seal Beach. One cannot resist. Fully stocked with baked goods of all kinds for everyone! I have been trying to be more conscious of my sweet intake. I went for the healthiest choice: the giant peanut butter cookie - omg. I must say, this is definitely one of my favorites! So chewy and soft. And it is on the less sweet side. I love it! Best with a cold glass of milk or a nice warm cup of tea. This will soon be your favorite as well. the oatmeal raisin - another great choice of the day. I am very happy with my decision. loaded with raisins. On my second visit I stopped in on a morning for a matcha latte and ham and cheese croissant. The croissant was flaky and had a good balance of ham and cheese. They warm them up and it was the perfect temperature. The matcha latte was very disappointing, though. I didn't end up finishing it and threw most of it out. It was bright green, but had no real matcha flavor to speak of. Instead it tasted overwhelmingingly of vanilla. So much so that as it cooled it reminded me of drinking melted vanilla ice cream. I don't know if they use vanilla syrup by default as their sweetner, because I didn't ask for it, but if so it's an odd choice to make without telling people. Overall, a bit of a mixed bag.

The menu had a solid selection of both brunch and lunch items - I loved the Burrata di Campagna, which was flavorful with just the right amount of tart from the heirloom tomatoes. For my main meal I had to go with the Casarecce - one of their pastas that's made fresh in house daily. The braided pasta was wonderfully textured and soaked up all the pesto sauce without being overly oily, a perfect meal for a hot summer day. We finished our meal with a Nutella Croissant, from their artisan bakery that also makes their bread fresh every day. Perhaps I am a little biased, but the laminated dough was perfectly light and flaky, encasing a very generous filling of hazelnut chocolate cream. Our check at the end of the meal even came with a custom drawn postcard by one of the Nonna Mercato service staff - another present to add on to what was already a gift of a meal!

PB also has an extensive drink list made to order. However unlike 85 Degrees, nothing is restocked after opening. I came around 5pm on Sunday. The baked food cases were more than half empty gone. Same for most of baked goods along back wall, including cookies and bread. Their baguettes seemed fresh but lacked enough crunch that I like. PB also has prepackaged meals - sandwiches and wraps. Starting at $9, I'm not taking a risk buying potentially a mediocre meal given my dissatisfaction with the pastries. They have fancy sweets like Dubai Chocolate Mochi Donuts, and Orange Cronut. Raspberry Nutella Round Croissant. You've seen them, shaped like wheels. Mine tasted a day old. The raspberry filling was too sweet and thick. (Artificial) Crab Cake - Big with good crunch but tasted much better the first time I had it. Mixed with veggies. Almond croissant- An example of deceptively good appearance. While flaky, it didn't taste buttery or light and airy. And the almond filling just tasted sweet. No trace of almond. The space is big and pretty cozy. Tables outsides on both sides of the business. Kudos for having both customer and pick up parking spaces. I'm willing to give them one more try. My sweet tooth wants to think they sell a few good items.

There is plenty of street parking (metered, 15 min free), and here is a parking structure around the back of the block (2 hours free).

The cake was lemony, soft and moist; I only wish there were more strawberry pieces in the cake, i'm not a huge frosting person but this strawberry cream cheese was sooo yummy and blended well with the cupcake. I loved how they packaged up the single cupcake. There would have been an extra charge for the special single box, but I took a chance on their regular packaging and it worked perfectly! They have a little collared protector they attach and it didn't tilt or move around in the bag. The frosting never even touched the sides of the bag. Service is always friendly and efficient. I know they will have lots of business and will probably sell out of most of the flavors every day. Glad this special little popup close to my home has opened up!

I came across this small business thanks to good old social media and had to look them up on Yelp. I hope they get more reviews and customers! What I ordered: - Epi sourdough baguette (not pictured because I ate it all): I didn't get the sourdough flavour the night I picked it up, but I definitely tasted it the next morning. So flavourful, not-too-chewy, slightly sponge-y, and a perfect quantity to finish in one whole day. - Sourdough baguette: Just like the Epi baguette, I only tasted the sourdough the next day (which isn't a bad thing). - Jalapeño jack biscuits: Large thick, fluffy, chewy (yet tender),, super flavourful, and packed with jalapeños & cheddar - none of that miniscule piece of jalapeño and barely-there cheese; it's loaded. I do have to call out that it wasn't a flake-y biscuit, which if you're inclined to, this is not for you. However, it is perfect for halving, slathering on some butter (or jam, for the plain biscuits) and eating. - Sourdough biscuits: Just like the jalapaño sock, this one was proper biscuit, but not flake-y. If you're looking for that, this isn't it. - Sourdough brownies: These were interesting! Filled with thick chocolate chips and a good square of brownie, the sourdough flavour wasn't noticeable to me, but I liked that it wasn't cloyingly sweet. - Chocolate chip cookies: These are thicker yet flavourful. Ordering was easy: The day the ordering was open, I went to their website and added the quantity of whatever products I wanted, and then paid for it. I got a confirmation e-mail with the pick-up date, time range, and address. Pick-up was quick and a breeze: The day of the pick-up, I parked on the street opposite the house and walked up the look for bags labelled with my name. It was easy to find - the bag(s) are pretty large and the labels are large fonts; just make sure to pick up all your bags (depending on everything you ordered). I said "are you sure? I can buy a muffin or something" she said "seriously it's no problem." And because of that, I went back a few hours later to get an iced chai, and now bogarts is the only coffee shop we'll give our money to every week in seal beach. Funny how not being cheap and a penny pincher with your paying customers will benefit you in the long run. Javatinis could learn a thing or two from them... Well, now I know why they call her business Sweet Jill's. I headed to the laundromat today because I had a large comforter that would not fit in the washing machine in Leisure World. I had a couple hours to spare as it washed and dryed. I never have had a habit of people watching to judge anyone but I always keep an eye on my environment. So I happened to notice a woman who came in and was so motivated and kind to other patrons, that I could not help but notice her. As she passed by me at one point, I simply decided to share a compliment to her that she seemed so industrious. She told me she owned several bakeries in the area. Maybe a half hour later she reappeared and handed me a bag with one of her delicious pastries. Up to that point, I had a bit of a challenging week. That simple act of kindness meant the world to me. I came here with my mother yesterday and received terrible customer service. We were the only ones in the shop but the woman working still took forever to greet us. After waiting alone for several minutes for the worker to appear she finally greeted us in a cold, unwelcoming manner and proceeded to give us some of the worst costumer service I've ever received. The female employee rolled her eyes several times at my mother as If we were somehow bothering her with our service. She was extremely short and rude with her responses. She didn't smile at us once and made no effort to hide the fact we weren't welcome in the store. We did end up making a purchase which I deeply regret, if I could turn back time I would've never stepped foot into this bakery. read more

The service at this location is not always that friendly, but on 8/13/11 I experienced the WORST customer service from this place. There was some young ignorant guy working here yesterday at around 7:00pm, and for some unknown reason he had the most disgusting attitude towards me. I'm guessing before work he found out that his girlfriend was cheating on him with his best friend OR received some type of bad news before beginning his shift because he was a total d*ck for NO reason! Anyway, 'Sweet Jill's' your desserts are nice, however... you need to be aware of who you hire because their attitudes set the tone for the whole company. I will NOT be coming back here again. Everything my family & I get from here is always sooooo good. Also, their prices are low considering the huge portions they give. The only downside is Main Street is a very busy street so parking can be a problem, especially on weekends. Sweet Jill's is also cash only, which I'm sure a few people don't like but I don't mind it. We'll keep coming back. read more

I stumble upon this little bakery while waiting for Beachwood BBQ. I walked in and i was impress with their selections of baked goods. The servings were large and fresh. The red velvet sandwich was perfect, not too sweet and very moist. I would definitely come back when i have a sweet tooth. read more
