Some friends and I had lunch here recently after church. We had a big group and the staff took care of us quickly and wanted to make sure we had enough room. They even moved a smaller party to another part of the restaurant to make room for everyone. It was a weekend so we could not get the lunch specials with soup and salad but we had plenty of food so that was fine. We ordered a variety of dishes and everyone liked what they ordered. I had the pumpkin shrimp with brown rice. This was delicious. Loved the pumpkin sauce and pieces of pumpkin in the dish. Soft and luscious. Lots of shrimp too. I ate the whole thing! read more

After reading all the positive reviews here, I decided to order delivery for their coconut curry chicken for lunch. What a mistake!!! It was absolutely disgusting. The coconut flavor was overpowered by the oiliness of the dish. The salad it came with was tossed in the same box as the curry, so it was all mushed together and I couldn't enjoy that either. After forcing down a bite or two, I decided to throw away the entire dish. When I requested a refund, the restaurant refused. I will say that the rice it came with was decent.....but obviously not enough to redeem the dish. I will never order from here ever again!!!!! read more

My boyfriend's sister picked up Sweet Mango for the entire family to celebrate his younger sister's birthday - such a good choice! Might have to start adding this place to my rotation of takeout places. We ordered a bunch of different dishes to share: - Fried Shrimp and Fish w/ Salt and Pepper - Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) - Burmese Style Fried Rice - Mango Chicken - Roti - Chicken w/ Coconut Curry - Basil Beef (?) The portion sizes are awesome, so there's enough for leftovers for the next day. Each of the dishes were really good, all captured the Thai flavor that we all know and love. I'll have to say - I was surprised by the Burmese Fried Rice the most! I've never had that style before and it's super good, especially the slices of lapcheong hidden in every bite. I also really liked the Pad Kee Mao, it definitely packs heat though - be careful if your taste buds aren't adjusted to Thai spicy levels! I don't eat fish very often, but my boyfriend's entire family loved the fried fish bites, very similar to calamari. All the protein dishes were delicious, however the Mango Chicken was a little too sweet for my taste. I could see it as a good balance between all the other spicy dishes though. The curry was also really delicious paired with either the rice or roti, you can definitely taste the coconut in this dish. Lastly, I thought the roti was on the soggy/oily side, but it's possible that it wasn't as crunchy since we ordered take-out. Otherwise, all the food was pretty bomb! I really like this place for their Thai food! It's also really cool that they have some Burmese recipes on their menu too, can't go wrong with that delicious combo. Came here on a Friday night because we've been wanting to try out this place since we moved closed by. There was no parking so we had to park near willow street pizza parking garage. Anyways the place was huge, I didn't think it would have plenty of tables inside considering there were no open parking spots outside. The place is packed but still had plenty of tables available. We were seated right away and I ordered tea (which I didn't like- they put actual petals in the tea and it tasted weird to me and since I'm pregnant I didn't want to risk it since I didn't know any background of the flower). We ordered honey walnut prawns, pineapple fried rice and pad see ew. I really wanted to like this place but whenever I try a new "Thai" place I always compare it to my fave which is Sala Thai in Fremont. This place doesn't compare to Sala Thai unfortunately.. Honey walnut prawns: pretty tasty but nothing special, sadly but I've had better honey walnut prawns somewhere else. Pineapple fried rice: surprisingly good! I didn't like the raisins very much (it didn't enhance the dish or anything.. if anything it tasted weird with the everything else in the rice). The raisin wasn't a big deal I could've easily removed it. The shrimp pieces were huge which was nice and the pineapple presentation was also a nice touch. Pad see ew: noodles were tasty but nothing special honestly. Broccoli were huge and hard to eat at times. The shrimp was cooked to perfection but tasted bland. Delicious food and a great experience at my first time at Sweet Mango! I definitely intend to come back. First of all, the menu here wasn't really want I was expecting. A friend had recommended the place, and I stopped more or less on a whim while driving past it. So I didn't really look at the menu ahead of time, and the friend had described it as a "Thai place." But the menu is much more robust than that, and I think the primary influence seems to be Chinese. There are lots of dishes and tons of variety, so it definitely seems like a place where it would be easy to find something you'll like! We started out with the shrimp pumpkin soup. My partner ordered it, as it's not something I'd ever think of ordering. But boy, am I glad he did because it was DELICIOUS. From now on, it's gonna be my go-to "I'm not feeling so good" or "it's too cold outside" or "it's raining" soup. Sooooo filling and delicious, creamy and coconutty. That soup alone was worth the whole trip. Even though my partner intended it to be his meal, they brought it out first, in a big bowl and with two small cups and served it to both of us. I'm glad they did! We also grabbed the golden tofu. It was good too, but basically what you'd expect. For my meal I got the honey walnut shrimp, a common choice for me in Chinese places. Sadly, I wasn't a huge fan: too much breading for my tastes. Next time I'll probably just get the soup and an appetizer, but I saw another table with noodles and they would be tempting as well! Came here with a group of 8 on a Saturday night (~8pm) and was seated immediately. The GOOD/RECOMMENDATIONS: + The Pad Thai and Tom Yum soup were on point... would recommend!! + There's a large parking lot outside + lotsa street parking + Loved the homey, hole in wall ambiance. There is limited parking in front of the restaurant, just a heads up! We were able to find a spot yayay. We got two orders of Roti Prata, Coconut Curry with Chicken and Pad Kee Mao. The curry sauce for the roti was a cold, not sure if was supposed to be cold or not. Also, it was a little expensive for only one piece. The Pad Kee Mao was okay, nothing too special. Lastly, the Coconut Curry with Chicken was the star of the show. It tasted great with Roti! I wish it came along with it, that would be pretty great. Covid- Sweet Mango sets the standard for Covid Protocols. They've had so much integrity with their standards and even sanitize your card after your transaction. I always feel safe when picking up my food, I put them at the top of my list of restaurants doing Covid right. Food- I order the yellow curry chicken often and now prefer Sweet Mango's version of the dish compared to the Thai version. It's a bit thicker and the flavor overall is more robust and satisfying. Service- I recently moved to the area and the staff here treat me like a neighbor/friend. They remember your name and always provide the utmost care and service to their customers. One of my fave in the area since I was young! They're currently closed for indoor dining but still do take out. Food is still good and quality is just like in restaurant. Staff is still super friendly even if it's just a to go order. Will always support their business! Their tea leaf salad is a must have of course. I do wish they offer sliced cabbage also instead of just lettuce leaf, but that's a personal preference. All their curries are yummy and flavorful, can't go wrong. Came by for lunch the other day to this Chinese-owned Americanized Chinese/Burmese/Thai fusion restaurant in Willow Glen. Despite the rather decrepit exterior and interior, the restaurant was clean and was given a Passing grade from the Department of Environmental Health. Waitress started us off by taking our drink orders. Moved on to the hot and sour soup which was okay. The samosas that we ordered were filled with potatoes and wrapped in egg-roll wrappers. The Tangerine Beef appeared to be some fried beef with some tangerine-like sauce. It was unique and decent. The last dish was the Pad Thai which came as an enormous portion. Sweet Mango was our last stop in our quest to visit all of the Burmese restaurants in the South Bay. (There are only three so it didn't take too long.) After our first trip we felt like Sweet Mango was about equal with the rest, albeit with a standout Tea Leaf Salad. After more visits to the three, Sweet Mango has become our hands-down favorite Burmese restaurant (cheapest too), one of our favorite Chinese restaurants (they even have great Thai food too), and one of the best places to take the twins. (Caveat: compared to the other Burmese restaurants the atmosphere is the worst. It's not that it's terrible by any means; it's just homey and simply not as good as the others. That said, I thoroughly enjoy myself here and have suggested it to other couples to meet us for dinner.) So the Tea Leaf Salad. This is a must order. It's one of those things where if you heard what was in it you wouldn't see what the big deal was, but all the ingredients together turns it into something else amazing. Green Elephant's salad was similar in flavor but needed some sweetness (like some tomatoes). Rangoon's had sweetness but the dressing and the rest was very forgettable. Sweet Mango's is perfect. Another must order is the Chicken Coconut Noodle Soup. I thought it was okay on my first visit but it's really grown on me since then and now I absolutely love it. The gravy-like broth is a thick, flavorful curry and they add little crispies for some texture. My kids LOVE the noodles. I have to bat my son's hand away from taking them directly out of my bowl! One Burmese entree we ordered that was a little bit of a clunker was the bland Chicken with Potatoes. (We were warned of that and told we could order it with Thai red curry, but we wanted the Burmese real deal.) The chicken consisted of tender white meat, but we had to add extra sauce to get a little flavor. The roti appetizer (a Burmese dish) is pretty good. It's a bit greasy as you'd expect, but not overly so, with a good dipping sauce. The Chinese dishes are definitely worth a try. We often order the Broccoli Chicken, a very competent rendition, and recently added the Chicken with String Beans in Black Bean Sauce to our repertoire. Both were made with white meat chicken. They tasted exactly how we hoped they would, based on the names of the dishes. My two year old twins loved these dishes as well. I liked my first few bites of the Tangerine Beef, but after that it got too sweet. Best to order this one in a group. I've only tried the Pad Kee Mao of the Thai dishes. I've had a lot of Pad Kee Mao and this was one of the best. The women who work here are really super sweet with my two year olds. They always make over them and give them lots of hugs. My kids usually don't know what to make of the hugs when they arrive but by the end they are all smiles for the ladies. The kids also get a partitioned animal plate and fortune cookies (not usually served) at the end of the meal. This place is more of a Chinese-Thai restaurant than an authentic Thai restaurant. I ordered the Thai green curry lunch special and split a roti prata with some friends. The roti prata was really good - the roti was flaky and the dipping sauce had good flavor. I tried a bite of my bf's Burmese fried rice but it wasn't anything special - just tasted like regular fried rice you could find in any Chinese restaurant. My Thai green curry wasn't the best. It tasted mostly like coconut and the curry didn't have much depth of flavor (and the portion wasn't that big). Won't be coming back here again. If you want authentic Thai food I suggest taking your business elsewhere. read more

There's so much on the menu, it can be hard to pick what to order! Tea Leaf Salad $10.95: This is my primary reason for coming here. I first tried this type of salad at Burma Superstar and was surprised how much I liked it, so of course I had to look up its availability closer to home. Tom Kha Soup with Chicken $9.95: I nearly always get this soup anytime I go to a Thai restaurant. It's still good here even though this restaurant isn't strictly Thai. The bowl was enough to split into about 5 of the individual bowls, so it was perfect for our group of 4 people. Roti Prata $3.95: I'm also generally a sucker for roti prata. The bread was nice and flakey. The curry sauce wasn't the best I've had, but still good enough for dipping. Satay Chicken $7.95: I normally don't order satay anywhere, but I did on our last visit as I had just read Crazy Rich Asians. The chicken was pretty dry, and the peanut sauce wasn't good enough to save it. I would not order this again. Tangerine Beef $13.95: This is on the sweet side, but I don't mind that so I find it really good. Being deep fried gives it a nice crispiness. I do recommend getting this for sharing, as eating only this is too much sweetness, even for me. FYI, it does not come with rice. read more

The menu has great variety, prices are not so inviting. The food was prepared relatively quickly. Service was friendly, prompt, and professional. Unfortunately I got very immediate food poisoning when I consumed their items. Of the items I tried, my best guess is that I got sick from the Thai Iced Tea and Chicken Chow Mein, which triggered 4 days of painful stomach cramps, nausea, etc. I also tried their samosas and coconut chicken soup, which were very good. How sweet it is.... Before I dive into how AMAZING this place is, let me first tell you about the very intense first 5 minutes. We walked in on a Friday night about 8:15-8:30. They close at 9:30. Restaurant was packed. There was one other couple waiting. We were greeted with smiling faces and given the menus to browse while we waited. Then, we watched one of the servers take the order of the couple that was ahead of us- she said "your table will be ready soon but I can get started on your order" We though damn, they are efficient!!! Then we thought oh shit idk what to order. The same lady came up to us next and then asked if we had our order ready. We didn't, but our table was now ready. We sat down and immediately they asked if we were ready to order. None of this was rude by the way, just really really fast paced. And I am the most indecisive orderer so for those like me, brace yourselves! Ok so now for the food - it's a unique blend of Chinese, Thai, and Burmese dishes. Each authentic in their own flavors and style. Roti Praka (sp) - very similar to a naan style bread with a curry dipping sauce. I could have poured this curry sauce on everything I eat in my life moving forward. Spring rolls - wasn't a fan, as it was just veggie (cabbage.) Good, but I'd save your appetite for the main dishes. Pumpkin Chicken (not curry.) Huge chunks of pumpkin with chicken in a sweeeeeet tamarind & coconut sauce. Superb, if you love pumpkin! Mango shrimp - so mango anything in this place is what is recommended, which makes sense given their name. It's like a sweet and sour shrimp with bell peppers and... mangos!!! Burmese Fried Rice - steamed rice stir fried with tamarind, eggs of course, cabbage, and sausage (very similar to Chinese sausage.) great balance to all the curry and sauces! Great (and veerrrry speedy service) - they move and operate at an extremely fast pace. We felt rushed and pressured during the ordering process but they don't rush your actual dinner experience. Maybe 3.5 stars. Part of the reason it wasn't as yummy was kind of our own fault. We wanted Thai food, and we expected Thai, but we came to a Burmese/Thai restaurant. We ordered roti, which explicitly says Indian sauce/style. I've had it like Malaysian or Indonesian style and it tastes a lot better in my opinion. Wasn't bad, just wasn't what we were craving, not their fault. Also got chicken coconut curry. It also explicitly says Indian curry. I would have preferred Thai curry or at least Panang but they didn't have panang on the menu. They did have green/red though. We agreed that the chicken itself tasted a little bland. The pad Thai was pretty good though! Might come back to try other items but it was the only Thai food in the area that didn't require sitting in traffic. Staff was very friendly. read more

Yelpers had totally fail me on this one! I was craving tealeaf salad and found this place close enough to home where all my friends can meet up for an early dinner. When we got there the restaurant was pack but luckily there was one empty table and we were seated right away. After looking through the menu, we ordered a few dishes. Tea Leaf Salad: I bit into something really hard and I thought I crack my tooth. The salad was mediocre since the tea flavor was not as potent as I would like it. Tom Yum Soup: It was not sour enough but it had generous amount of seafood. Mince Pork in Garlic Sauce: This is was the only highlight dish of the night. Te sauce was garlicy and salty Squid with Basil: Don't get this dish! I though the squid was friend and then stir -fried in the sauce with basil. But the dish was just Sweet Mango with Sticky Rice: The rice was hard, like it was microwave or something. Skip this too! I was very disappointment with our meal. Came here for lunch after my co-worker was raving about how good this place was the first time she stopped by here. A bit further than my usual lunch treks, but I figured I'd give this Burmese/Chinese food spot a shot. I'm not entirely sure what the split between Burmese food and Chinese food is. I can definitively say that the tea lead salad is Burmese, and pretty good to boot. It's not everyday you get tea leaves in your salad, but it was quite refreshing to eat. Fried garlic cloves stood out for me, being a huge garlic fan after all. Roli prata is Indian-influenced, but dipping it in curry sauce gave it a kick of flavor. Pretty sure potstickers aren't on the Burmese menu though. They were just ok, not as juicy as I expected after how awesome they looked. Entree for me was Mongolian beef with fried rice, which is about as Chinese as it gets. For the price, there was a lot of beef and the actual cuts of beef were pretty thick. Service was good, although it took longer than I would've preferred to get my check at the end of our meal. The parking situation is just ok...there's a small lot outside of only eight parking spots. Fairly cheap at lunch, but not the cheapest spot for dinner. Overall quality of the spot is good, and I'd come back. read more

Got mongolian beef while traveling. Doesnt even come with rice. Little portion is 18$ plus tax. Was very disappointed. Was not even to tasty. To add rice cost 3$. Didnt buy chow mein because the meal cost another 13-15$ with another meat. Cannot order by itself. Ordered takeout didnt come with forks had to search for random business to get forks. Yum yum! There's a wide variety of dishes at this restaurant. We had the tea leaf salad which had a nice combination of crunch from the peanuts and salad and delicious freshness from the salad and tomatoes. We also ordered pad see ew with beef and shrimp with green beans which were both so so good! I loved the green beans with the shrimp (which were generous!). my friend next time you eat at this restaurant make sure to ask for the actual dinner receipt!!!! they charge service fee 25.00 dollars for 4 people. any other high cusiine never ever charge service fee. whenever you ask for the check they only give you the total unless you ask for the receipt. overall the food have more sugat than flavor. please dontet them do that to you check your bill. i had my service charge removed. read more
