Came here for a week day brunch, and was seated pretty fast despite the Yelp waitlist! Parking a little bit of a struggle but there's also other spots across the street if the restaurant parking is full. I ordered the Tornado omurice and my friend got the Loco moco, both which came in pretty big portions! Service was pretty attentive and came frequently to refill my water glass, which I kept drinking because my dish was unfortunately a bit too salty for my taste buds. Each dish also cost $24, and so definitely on the higher side of typical egg dishes for brunch. I'm so in love! This is the first time I went to the Sweet Maple Cupertino location and I was pleasantly surprised. The Saturday morning wait wasn't too long, but the parking was horrendous. I doubt most people are able to park in their tiny, high-traffic lot. I ended up finding street parking a few blocks away and had to walk back. The service was great although it can be hard grabbing your server's attention. They are so busy! I saw everyone running around to fulfill orders, make drinks, and interact with the many people in the restaurant. Our seating was nice with comfortable, cushioned chairs and cleared, light colored tables. The inside decor was also ethereal feeling as it was so bright! The food was so good! I've tried other sweet maple locations and have to say that the Cupertino location made me like sweet maple again. The croffle of the chicken and waffles were crispy and had such a flaky croissant breading! The fruits were nice to balance out the syrup. The blueberry mochi waffles were so fluffy and so good with their syrup and blueberry sauce! Although be sure to eat it quickly since after the waffle cools, the mochi makes it very dense. The millionaire bacon as a side is definitely the move. It's nice to have a decadent bacon treat that's just the right amount. The soufflé eggs were interesting to try with the hot cast iron skillet. I went here with a friend for Wednesday brunch. We wanted to be seated outside because it was a bit noisy inside with all the people's chatter. They have large umbrellas to provide shade, which was perfect because it was a hot day. The server was really patient with us because I couldn't decide what I wanted. They had a lot of brunch and lunch options on the menu, so it was a bit overwhelming and I couldn't decide if I wanted savory or sweet. I ended up ordering a raspberry lemonade, which was super tasty and refreshing with the mint garnish. Tried calling in the Palo Alto location for a wait time estimate/reservation but no one picked up the phone to give an answer. So went in to the Cupertino location. Been wanting to try this place for a long time now and they opened a location near me so we decided to check it out for my cousin's birthday. It's the perfect spot for brunch and it is beautifully decorated inside. Parking was a little difficult because the parking area is a bit small and hard to navigate. This was my first time in the Cupertino location, I had gone to the Palo Alto location previously and was impressed with the food. I convinced my party of 5 to visit the Cupertino location, only to be disappointed overall. We ordered our food (hass omelette, savory skillet, sizzling stonepot, loco moco, and tornado galbi omurice) hoping for something impressive, but it was definitely mediocre aesthetic instagrammable brunch food. I had ordered the hass omelette in the Palo Alto location and it was the best omelette I had ever had. I ordered it without bacon that last time, but this time around I decided to try it with bacon. Big mistake. The bacon was all really tough and hard to chew. It tasted like flour knots that you can get in pancakes if you don't mix the batter properly. But in omelette form. Honestly the texture threw me off so much I couldn't enjoy it at all. The brussel sprouts were not crispy either, they tasted really oily and soggy. Potatoes were great, only good part of the dish imo. The rest of my party said the food was mid too. Everything was just waaaay too expensive for what it actually was, especially considering the quality of the food and service. Our server was also very curt and not attentive. There was a 20% service charge because we had a party of 5, so I'd expect our server to at least refill our waters when they got empty. Or at least ask us how our food was?? Had high expectations for Sweet Maple, which ultimately led to a let down. Monday morning, around 10:30, not a single parking spot in their tiny lot. We had to park next door, which I'm sure they hate on the weekend busy rush times. Seated inside and the interior and ambience, everything is gorgeous. However, the soundproofing of the place is not great, so it's very echo-y and loud. Between the 3 of us we ordered a croffle, sizzling plate with pork lime sausage, bacon and eggs, and I personally ordered the tornado kalbi omurice. Croffle came out first, and it was excellent. For $8, not bad since it came with berries and cream. The sizzling plate then came out much earlier than the other dishes, and it gave time to let it cool down after mixing it all. It was okay, I personally would prefer dolsot bibimbap at a Korean restaurant. The tornado kalbi omurice...was way too dang sweet. Had to ask for sriacha to subdue the sweetness. The kalbi pieces were actually pretty tender, and that egg was silky smooth. I would say the traditional breakfast items are probably the way to go, and what I would do next time. Really loved the potato/brussels/carrot hash that came with the bacon and eggs. Overall, yes, it is pretty pricey for what it is. Originally visited the location in San Francisco in Japan Town. Even though the two restaurants are related; they are like night and day. The tables inside the Cupertino location is incredibly cramped; squeezing out every inch of real estate. Even though it is the same exact menu as San Francisco; the taste & appearance of the food is different. I understand they have different cooks, but it should be as good. I got the specialty egg soufflé that tasted burnt on the bottom, the first taste is salt and it was pretty flat. My friend had the same dish in San Francisco and it was fluffy and about 2 inches high. The expensive treat is the millionaire's bacon. This location served the bacon looking very dry and not plump like the one we had in San Francisco. To be fair, my friend ordered the blueberry Belgian waffles that were excellent. Service was not the best. The staff is friendly enough, but they're not well trained. They are hurried and disorganized. Where is San Francisco even with double the amount of customers; the staff was very relaxed, smiling and friendly coming by on regular basis to refill water glasses and coffee cups. Interestingly San Francisco serves larger size mimosas than the Cupertino location. I had to talk to the manager after our meal to alert him that I had bug bites on my leg. I sat next to the window. I don't know if mopping the floor with a strong cleaner would help every night. I understand you can't really use a pesticide since it is around food. The manager was not interested and seemed not to care. I know this place is very popular but living here in the valley feels like the bar is set pretty low for food. We started with the sampler bacon entree which was amazing!! So fun to try the different flavors - all were delish but I especially recommend the original and the rosemary. I got the breaky tacos which were beautiful and tasty to boot! I would have loved another sauce to spread on the tacos - maybe a chipotle crema or something. My niece got the blueberry mocha waffle. I've been to the Palo Alto location loved it and have also driven past the Cupertino location many times now, so I've been awaiting an opportunity to go here as well. To be quite honest, I was a bit underwhelmed compared to my first visit. I got the One Percenter Burger as I love burgers with fried eggs. The egg was cooked perfectly and the yolk was very runny. The millionaires bacon was also very good. The fries were very crispy and tasty as well! I did think the burger was slightly cooked past the medium rare that I asked for. My girlfriend got the Breaky Tacos, and she wasn't really a fan as she thought it overall lacked a lot of flavor. She gave me a bite and frankly I agreed. Certainly needed more seasoning. The tortilla was also soggy and cold. The tacos overall were pretty disappointing. The Korean fried chicken was very good though! We got the garlic honey butter flavor, which was very good. The chicken itself was extremely crispy and crunchy. It was a bit frustrating dealing with the reservation as well. The wait was about an hour which we were completely fine with considering it was Saturday brunch. However we were following along with our spot in line on the Yelp app, and we went from 5th in line to "removed from the line" instantly, despite it not even being the time they told us it would be ready yet! Fortunately we were still able to get a table without waiting further, but we had a small moment of panic as we quickly got dropped from the line without warning. Sweet Maple has been on my radar for a while before I finally got around to giving it a try. Millionaire bacon I've seen all over SF and personally as not the biggest fan of bacon I've never felt the need to try it. I saw good things being said about the ube latte in other reviews, I felt that the iced version was just alright nothing special. The million bites were interesting to say the least--maybe not a flavor profile that initially sounds good or sits well but a distinctive one that will be memorial for a long time to come. I personally really enjoyed the mix of sweet and sour and I would definitely order the million bites again. Aside from the million bites, I had the florentine benedict. The brussel potato medley I wasn't a big fan of--it didn't look very good in earlier Yelp photos nor did it taste very good when it came on my plate. It was very much on the dry side. The florentine benedict was pretty good, although I wish there were more benedict options since I wouldn't normally go for a vegetarian combination like this one but the pricier benedict options didn't really feel like value for the price. Inflation has caused just about every menu to display slightly different prices for many items. The wait on a weekend for late brunch was about half an hour to 45 minutes. read more

There's a kiosk at front for you to enter the waitlist. At 9:30am, our wait was 25 minutes. The queue clearly got longer toward the lunch/brunch hour. And it was the Memorial Monday. "Souflegg" was the best. A skillet of fluffy eggs topped with whatever and sided with potato and brussel sprouts. This one won the 5-star. Tornada Galbi Omurice was a bowl of flavored fried rice wrapped in a shell of eggs upside-down! We couldn't figure out how was it made. There's a side of beef that were tender and soaked in thick brown Asian sauce. Big Hip was french toast done crispy style. The fresh toppings and general preparation was at the high-end of the quality spectrum. There's definitely no complaint on this. Yes, it is a pricy place. Patrons clearly do not care. I had super high expectations for this place, but overall it was mediocre. The interior and the aesthetics of the food and ambience was really nice, but the food was not as good as I expected. We ordered the Millionaire's bacon sampler, which was good-- but each flavor was way too sweet. It definitely wasn't worth $24 for 4 slices of bacon... We also got one of the souffleegg, which was a disappointment. The egg was dry and not soft, and they added way too much salt. The egg was salty, and it was hard to eat on its own. The only best thing that we ordered was the sizzling plate with pork sausage and egg. This was unique and the spicy sauce that came with it was really good. The pork sausage was also very tasty and went well with the fried egg on top. Because I absolutely loved the atmosphere, I am open to visiting again and trying other menu options like the scrambles and omelets, but I don't think this place will be top of mind when thinking of a brunch restaurant. read more
