I've been to the San Francisco Sweet Maple a few years ago and loved it, but I have to say the Walnut Creek location might be my favorite! Definitely recommend joining the Yelp waitlist before you arrive; our wait was about 40 minutes. Check-in was smooth, and the hostess was friendly and helpful. You can choose between indoor or patio seating, but since the patio is pretty small, you'll probably get an indoor table faster. My boyfriend and I had Kiki as our server, and she was amazing! Super friendly and full of great recommendations for both food and drinks. We ended up ordering the Marnier French Toast with bacon, chicken mango sausage, and the potato medley. Everything was fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious! We also got iced and hot vanilla lattes, both of which were really good. Can't wait to come back the next time we're in the area. Ordered the mini pancake stack, Korean fried chicken, and the egg plate with Millionaire's bacon. The mini pancakes were a little too dry for my liking, but everything else was solid. The KFC it wasn't as crispy as I expected and that Millionaire's bacon definitely stands out it tasted really similar to the bacon from Berkeley Social Club. I actually had to Google whether the two restaurants were connected... and yes, they are! Overall, still a good spot, especially if you're a fan of that sweet and savory Millionaire's bacon. The ambiance is nice. I really appreciate that it's a pet-friendly space. I love animals! At the same time, it can be a bit crowded with dogs at times, and some of them weren't always fully under control. I visited Sweet Maple with my family of 8 and honestly, the experience was extremely disappointing and does not match the hype at all. The food was underwhelming across the board. I ordered the blueberry cloud French toast and it was overly heavy with a filling that wasn't balanced or sweet enough. I took only a few bites before I couldn't eat any more. I also ordered an iced ube latte, which was grainy and unpleasant. I would not recommend it at all. My grandma ordered the hot version that I had a taste of which was the better option to go with. The service completely ruined the experience. After waiting 45 mins to the moment we sat down, we were told the kitchen was closing and immediately felt rushed. They also mentioned that they would like us to finish by a specific time which seemed unprofessional. Throughout the entire meal, staff hovered over our table waiting for us to order, watched us as we ate, and kept pushing us to finish quickly. Even during the bill splitting process, we felt pressured and watched, which was uncomfortable and below standard. Overall, the ambience is doing all the heavy lifting here because the food does not justify the price at all. I would rate the food a 4/10 at best. Basic, overpriced, and overhyped. The only item worth mentioning is the millionaire bacon, which is decent, but not enough to save the experience. The staff came across as impatient and lacking basic hospitality and some stereotyping, which made the entire visit feel rushed and unpleasant. The food did not disappoint. We ordered the Tornado Omurice w/braised short rib meat (My Favorite), my niece had the Crab sandwich with fries, made w/real crab which she enjoyed. Grand Marnier French Toast and side order of Candy Bacon & Korean Chicken. The Expresso Martini was yummy & my niece had the Ube Latte. Out of all dishes we tried the French toast was alright. It was a very thick french toast. The edges were dry, but the middle was moist & had that custard taste, it was not bad but nothing special. Our res was for Sun 9:45 AM, we arrived 5 mins early & was seated right away, but there was no line outside. Not a big place, but they do have table inside & tables outside on their nice patio. The decor was chic modern & comfortable. The staff were attentive & polite. The food came out quickly. I will be coming back again to try their Soufflé egg dish & their Blueberry Cloud French Toast. Incredible. I love the SF location, so I was so excited to hear a location opened closer in Walnut Creek. Service: wonderful!! We seemed to have two servers, but no complaints! Both were attentive and kind. Also hot tip - we came in on a Saturday morning, expecting a wait. I looked on Yelp and joined the waitlist. By the time we arrived, we were seated. Came here today with my family was highly recommended by my sister in law so decided to stop by. I was disappointed in the service!! Read till the end. No wait time today so we got sat down as soon as we arrived. We all had the ube latte which I didn't like It tasted like milk no flavor. And No coffee at all. Every place I've been to with ube latte it comes with coffee and this did not. So 0/10 for that drink. I ordered chick sandwich it was good had great flavor 8/10 My sister ordered noodles and they were great as well, the flavor was good 7/10 I would have to admit they are a little pricey for what it is. Petite pancakes had no fluf and were dry so 2/10 Where this placed lacked and made me feel a little discriminated was when I asked for an extra plate because I was going to share half my sandwich with my mom and she was going to give me a few of the mini pancakes they came over to us with paper plates. I've NEVER EVER been to a restaurant and had someone bring me paper plates. Spent $200 here to be given paper plates :/ was charged a 20% tip fee wich I almost felt like wasn't deserved. People next to our table asked for an extra plate because they were sharing too and they got the regular glass plate. So I'm not sure why we were given paper plates. Ok so here we go to Walnut Creek with our dogs and we have no idea where to go for lunch. I was looking around and around and finally found sweet maple. I put yelp reservations down but by the time we found parking in horrible downtown.... We arrived and had 5 minutes to sit, order our food, and our drinks all at the same time. Interesting fact, there are two gates for outside seating, but rather than taking us out that way, we walked through the whole restaurant with two large fluffy dogs. Thought that was weird but hey everyone loves our dogs! Walking through the restaurant, it's modern and really nice, the chairs to the tables look super comf You can see from the photo everything arrived at the same time. All four drinks and our food came out first. That was strange, cause the drink is suppose to come out first so you can enjoy it. Anyways, the patio is great. Everyone had their dogs out and about. It was enjoyable. The negative I have to say, is when we got our food, the ratio of ingredient in the sandwiches were very small. So basically it was a lot of bread. The French fries were delicious. My friend recommended this place, and my girlfriend and I are so glad we came for brunch! The location is a little tricky to find, but there's parking available. Inside, you're greeted with a warm welcome and beautiful lighting--great for photos. I ordered a simple egg plate with toast and bacon, and it was so good (some of the best toast and bacon I've had!). I skipped the million-dollar bacon this time, but it's on my list for next time. The orange juice was fresh-squeezed and refreshing. My girlfriend had the seafood omelet and loved it. We also thought it was really sweet that dogs on the patio were immediately given a bowl of water! I thought this was sweet for the pups! As a regular at their SF location, I finally had the opportunity to try Sweet Maple's new location in Walnut Creek! At all locations, you can expect them to open at either 8am or 8:30am and close at either 2:30pm or 3pm. With Walnut Creek's location, their hours are 8:00am-2:30pm daily! Easy to remember, right? [+1 star] Online Waiting List. At the time of writing this, Walnut Creek is the ONLY location that has a waitlist that you can join ahead from. Note: you must be within 40 miles of the location to be able to place your name down. Otherwise the system won't let you move forward. This is a fantastic perk. You might think that the radius is generous (and it is - a lot places have a radius set for 10 miles, or even 5 miles). You know there absolutely will be lines here, so why not see how the wait is online and then put a name down when you're at home getting ready! If you do put a name down in advance and can no longer make it, just make sure to take it down so others can be shown a more accurate wait time. [+1 star] Short and accurate wait time. I did put a name down ahead of time for a party of 4. So I'm sure that influenced the short wait time. I was surprised at the accuracy of the online wait time. We actually received the text message a couple minutes earlier than the estimated wait time. Always a nice surprise when that happens! Pro tip: I say it's always better to assume wait times will be longer so that you're not disappointed when the estimate runs over! Easier said than done (I know, lol) when you're eyeing everyone's millionaire's bacon and other delicious food walk by. We checked in with the hostess and she made sure our whole party was there before she sat us (we were). [+0.5 star] Patient and friendly staff. Two of my friends have never been to any Sweet Maple (believe it or not). They had lots of questions and our waiter was patient and answered all of their questions with a smile. [+0.5 star] Attentive staff. With tables packed pretty much all day, the kitchen has gotten their groove down. All of the food came out very quickly. Within a few short minutes of each other, we all had our food. Being seated outside, generally it takes staff a little longer to refill water and to come around to check in on us. That was not the case here! Water was constantly being refilled. Suffice it to say that I think we were well cared for during our meal! [+1 star] Great tasting food. If you're eating cleaner or have dietary restrictions, there's something for everyone here. I ordered the millionaire's bacon (of course) and the spinach scramble to share. I upgraded from potatoes to fresh fruit for an extra $4 and requested that the scramble be made with egg whites (also extra $4). Scrambles come with ciabatta and we were happy to stick with that. But they also have an option to change it to gluten free bread for an additional $2. With all of the extra substitutions, you'd think I wouldn't be full. Even though the scramble was made with egg whites which usually means less volume for the overall scramble, I thought the portion size was very generous. Fruit was incredibly fresh and also very sweet. Ciabatta was nicely toasted. Now for the millionaires bacon flight - you've heard it all and I'm going say it again. Popular for a reason, they're sweet and salty and you have to order this (even if you're a regular!) It never gets tiring. You get 4 slices of thick cut bacon with various flavors (original, citron, rosemary, and cinnamon). My group's ranking for flavors from most to least favorite is as follows: original, citron, cinnamon, and rosemary! Order the flight and try for yourself to see if you agree with our ranking! [+1 star] Spacious and modern ambiance. Once you walk in the main entrance, you'll be met with a bright, chic and modern dining space. Gone are the dark wooden chairs and tables that put their first SF location on the map. The Walnut Creek location has a white ceiling affixed with bright light fixtures and a skylight to add even more brightness. Chairs are a luxurious leather half moon chair with and are a neutral taupe color. That's for the inside! We were seated at their outside patio where we were met with rattan chairs with seat cushions and black tables with white marbling. What we liked was that the sliding door that separates the inside and outside of the restaurant can slide completely open. This allows more air for the people on the inside and allows the people outside to feel like they're part of the people dining inside! read more

I have been wanting to try Sweet Maple since it opened earlier this year. I finally had a chance to do so yesterday (8/9/2025) with a friend. She arrived before I did and put our name on the waitlist. To our surprise, we only waited ~10 mins. I tried to come here with another friend in the spring but we bailed when we saw that the wait was over an hour on a Sunday afternoon at 1 pm (they close at 2:30 pm). Very happy to have a short wait this time. For our drinks, I had the iced ube latte and my friend had the cinnamon espresso. I could taste the ube and liked that it was made with oat milk. However, I do not think that drink is worth $9. For our entrees, I had the Oscar Benedict and she had the eggs with millionaire's bacon. Loved the colorful potatoes, fresh crab, and ciabatta bread. Though the wasabi hollandaise had a little kick, it was not as spicy as I would have expected. Server was friendly, patient with my questions, and brought our food out quickly. The restaurant was a bit noisy. My portion of the bill (including tax/tip) was ~$54, which was a bit pricey. However, I'm glad I tried it with my friend as it was our last time seeing each other as I'm moving out of state this coming week. As for whether I'd go back when visiting the bay or recommending Sweet Maple to local friends who haven't tried it, I would say the food is great but pricey and I wouldn't wait if the wait is more than a half hour. Got the Blackstone, an eggs Benedict with one piece of their Millionaire bacon. It was yummy but I couldn't taste the lemon in their hollandaise. I was expecting it to be stronger but it was still really good. I really liked their mixed potatoes. I wouldn't mind getting this dish again but I'd maybe try something else first. The ube latte was on the milkier side than Ube. I like a strong Ube flavor. It did get stronger after the first few sips but it still wasn't strong enough. I would skip this in the future. I had a sip of the matcha latte and that had a very strong flavor, maybe a little too strong, and it felt chalky. My friend liked it though. I would pass on this as well. I'm so glad they have one in WC, so instead of driving to the city, there's one really close to home. Unlike the city, there's plenty of street parking (FYI..metered and heavily enforced). There's also plenty of seating inside and outside. The patio is nice because you can feel the breeze and it's a bit private because of the pants that provide some privacy. The service was great and just like in SF, the food comes out quick. We had about a 5 -8 minute wait from the time we ordered. I had the maple scramble which was amazing. It had hollandaise sauce, sweet potatoes, and chopped up millionaires bacon. Speaking of millionaires bacon, OMG, if you haven't tried it, you have to. It's sweet, savory crunchy, soft....just perfect (probably wouldn't want to have this more than once a month ). This is definitely a wonderful place that we 100% recommend. read more

As a foodie and brunch lover, I've been wanting to try Sweet Maple for a long time! I'm fan of their sister restaurant, Kitchen Story in Oakland, so I was excited to hear Sweet Maple was opening in Walnut Creek. The vibes/ambiance: 4/5 The indoor dining area has an upscale, classy vibe. We had a table on the outdoor patio. The sun was beating down on me, but luckily I wore a hat when I went. Some overhead coverage or adding more umbrellas to make sure no one is left in direct sun would help, as Walnut Creek has 4-5 months of intense heat every year! Service: 3.5/5 Server was polite enough but seemed busy instead of friendly. I would have liked to be checked on more. When I needed syrup, more water, the check, and a to-go box, I had to flag someone down or go find someone. Food: It depends on what you order! I enjoyed the Sweet Maple Scramble (4/5) and side of fruit, but did not like the thick toast that came with it (plain in flavor and hard to eat). A slightly bigger portion of the scramble (especially for the $26 price point) and a thinner/ tastier slice of toast that's easier to eat would have elevated this to a 5/5. The petite pancake (3.5/5) is aesthetically pleasing to look at but not as satisfying to eat. (You also need to ask for syrup, as it didn't come with it.) A stack of small, thinner pancakes does not taste as good as 1-2 bigger fluffy pancakes, but ironically for a place called Sweet Maple, this was my only pancake option. I'll give the croffles or moffle a try next time, since I would probably like them more. Crab Sandwich (2.5/5) This sandwich was sadly a miss for my fiancé. There was far more bread than filling, and the filling had very little crab (and a couple of pieces of shell) which is disappointing at the $32 price tag. The fries that it came with were amazing, though. Ube latte (3.5/5) I love Ube so I'm glad this was an option, but the lattes have more flavor and taste better at Kitchen Story. I also ordered mine with oat milk and they may have given me regular milk. I didn't notice right away because of the flavoring, but I had a stomach ache after brunch and this was probably why. Maybe double check with your server to make sure they heard you if you also order alternative milk! Parking was somewhat limiting, but there is a parking garage about a block away. I got the Korean Fried Chicken and Short Rib Pot. It's like an Asian Fusion of Korean bibimbap using short ribs. Went for brunch on a Sunday. They don't take reservations after 10:30 am so we had to put our name on a list. Waited about 30 minutes before we were sat. The interior is gorgeous, and the open layout to the balcony almost feels like you're on vacation. I had the iced matcha with oatmilk, a mango mimosa, millionaire bacon flight, and the chicken & waffles but i asked for the blueberry marmalade and blueberry cream on the side. My food was hot, and it came out in 25 minutes which was quick for how busy they are. The croissant waffle was delicious with the blueberry marmalade. The chicken was juicy, but maybe fried a little too hard even for me. Also, no hot sauce was provided. The bacon flight was different than expected. It's thick cut and more meaty/chewy than typical breakfast bacon which is thin and crispy. Also, it leaned really on the sweet side. I mean sweeter than my waffle. Great experience but I wouldn't get it again. The matcha wasn't really sweet, but the game changer was adding the blueberry marmalade to the matcha. Fire. A couple servers saw me do it and said they needed to try it. Bottom line, I would go back for another waffle, eggs, and iced blueberry matcha. And I would also try the omurice next time. I came to Sweet Maple for the first time and was not disappointed. The decor is well done, it's pretty with great natural light. I thought my waffles with brie were excellent. Breakfast can be a heavy meal especially waffles but they were the perfect size. I was pleasantly pleased to not feel like I ate my weight in bread but left content. I had a mango (I believe) mimosa and a mocha, both of which were also great. My friends tried a variety of dishes, shared among the table, and everyone seemed pleased. As busy as they were the service was quick and friendly. Everyone was hustling around the restaurant with a smile on their face Overall I think this place brings a nice vibe where family or friends can gather and enjoy every aspect of Sweet Maple. We have been wanting to try Sweet Maple for a few months now, ever since they opened and this weekend was the weekend we finally made it in! To start, the flavor of everything was spot on and amazing. We ordered an Espresso Martini and it was incredibly smooth and light. Just flawless. The brussels sprouts appetizer was light in that it was made up of leaves and not full heads, interspaced with millionaires bacon (which was a bit too thickly cut for us) and very well flavored with multiple notes. We also ordered the Millionaires Bacon flight and it was amazing! Each slice was so incredibly different and my favorites were the Cinnamon (like a Christmas meal) and Rosemary, with the honey's favorites being also the Rosemary and the Original, which he felt was the most moist of the set. We both felt the Citron was the least successful of the flight, but still might appeal to those who really love citrus and oranges. Finally, for the larger bites my egg whites and rosemary potato medley were simple and absolute perfection outside of one significant note. Sweet potatoes were included in the potato medley. Sweet potatoes are not potatoes, though they share the name. And I'm allergic to them (luckily only lightly) so there are allergen concerns with how the dish is listed on the menu at present. All in all, that note aside, we adored our meal and would absolutely come back in a second. In my opinion, Sweet Maple is absolutely 1000% worth the hype. read more

Came here on a Saturday Morning and it was pretty packed! I would recommend making a reservation for this place! The place is gorgeous for a brunch, perfect for meeting up with friends or brunch with family members. The service was excellent, they checked in multiple times and provided good recommendations of food to try. Ordered the Florentine Egg Benedict and the Blueberry Cloud French Toast based on the server's recommendations and both food items were delicious in flavor. Definitely a good brunch spot due to their unique take on flavor with the dishes. I would be back to try other menu items read more

First time trying Sweet Maple and they did not disappoint! We made reservations for Saturday 9am. Yelp made it easy to make reservations and there is also a yelp waitlist option. Food -million dollar bacon - as advertised, sweet, spicy and savory. Must try if you like mdb to begin with. -chicken croffle -fried chicken was good and croffle was good. -tornado galbi omurice - meat was tender sauce was flavorful Drinks -we tried 4 alcoholic drinks and were impressed with all of them. Least favorite was bramble creek (cinnamon whisky with raspberry mocha liqueur and espresso). Favorites were the mango margarita and guavarita. The espresso martini was strong and good too. Wifey had 2 espresso cocktails and she was definitely feeling wired after. Ambiance - modern upscale brunch. Like west elm / hint of RH decor feel but obviously on a lot smaller scale. As more people started to trickle in and as the restaurant got busier, conversations got louder. It was harder to listen to the person in front of you. The restaurant is not that big and the tables are very close together. They have 5 locations as of now. SF, Palo Alto, Cupertino and Santa Monica. I thought their menu was very similar to Kitchen Story in Oakland since they also served mlb there. Upon further research, they are owned by the same owner as Kitchen Story (another great brunch restaurant- also cramped though) ! I've been to their San Francisco location before and always wanted to go back but it was always so far. Was so excited to hear they opened in Walnut Creek! Love how clean and open the space is especially when they open the glass doors to connect their outside seating. What we ordered: -The famous Millionaire's bacon $15 -Chicken croffle (came with 3 crispy pieces of chicken on croissant waffle!) $26 -Tornado galbi omurice $26 Pricey but everything was yummy and our food came out quick! My first time at any Sweet Maple location left a very good impression. The food was presented beautifully. I will say it didn't blow me away. The chicken wasn't exceptionally juicy or otherwise memorable; the benedict was a regular benedict but with their millionaire's bacon. The bacon was great though: thick cut and a little smoky, sweet, and spicy. I also enjoyed how they prepare the side potatoes--perfectly cooked, a tad crisp on the outside and very tender. Overall, everything executed very well. Service was excellent. In fact, it was much faster than I was expecting. Our food came out very quickly after we placed an order, but it was a Monday morning, so I cannot speak for busy hours. Inside is clean and feels warm, with tons of natural light. The side windows open all the way up to be open air and connecting to the patio. A good experience overall. read more
