I heard a rumor there was a new salad spot in the area, so when I noticed Sweetgreen had opened next to Mendocino, I had to give it a shot. The menu features a variety of salads and bowls, allowing you to customize your meal with greens, grains, and protein. The assembly process is on display, reminiscent of Chipotle or Panda Express. The bowls are delicious, tough they come with a price tag of around 15 bucks each. Not bad really, the quality of the food justifies the cost. Some may say their portions are a little on the smaller side, but I didn't seem to mind. Also try some of their hot sauce on your bowl if you're into a spicy kick. So the food was great, but the experience with the staff left me with mixed feelings. Despite their friendliness, there seemed to be a lack of focus. During my initial visit, there was no greeting, the process wasn't explained, creating somewhat of an awkward atmosphere. However the food was still good. On my second visit, every table was dirty inside. They had more than sufficient staff to clean it up, but no one did. Yet the food was still good. Overall, Sweetgreen shows promise as a go-to spot for a quick, healthy lunch. However, some improvements in staff training and overall organization are needed. I've heard so much about sweet greens and I pass it all the time coming to this plaza. I finally got the chance to try it! We came in store but decided to order online via their app for pick up since there was a coupon code (SG5OFF2024) so we got $5 off our bowl. I got the Guacamole Greens and my friend got the BBQ Chicken. We both enjoyed our bowls. They were yummy and loved the sauces (especially the lemon vinaigrette). I was super disappointed with the portion size. For the price, I would have expected the bowl to be more filled/packed. I swapped the white rice for herb quinoa and it was very fluffy, soft, and flavorful. My fiancé and cousin enjoyed their plates too. I tried my fiancé's sweet potato and it was really good! I've been meaning to try Sweetgreen, but haven't been back to the Pruneyard in a while! When visiting finally aligned with my schedule, I was elated. I love hitting a good fast casual spot for lunch. I opted for splitting the hot honey chicken with a friend because I was craving sweet potatoes and the hot honey mustard sauce sounded intriguing. I also was overloaded by the sheer amount of choices they offer at Sweetgreen- their bar area is far larger than Chipotle or any poke bowl place! The sauce did not disappoint, the veggie slaw was savory and sweet, the blackened chicken was juicy, and the crispy onions added a flavorful texture. They did not skimp on the protein for this dish! I was very filled up by the end of this experience. Unfortunately, the price point knocks my 4 stars down to a 3. Paying $20 is a tad egregious for a bowl in my opinion. If I was a repeat Sweetgreen visitor, I would honestly just take inspiration from their bowl composition and make this at home for a fraction of the price. Best sweetgreen location I've been too. I have been coming to this store since they opened at the pruneyard, and the staff and food quality keep me coming back. They are always incredibly consistent, manage long lines well, and all have such a positive attitude. Across multiple shifts, the staff all have great attitudes and make customers feel welcome. Food prep is always spot on, I cannot remember a time something was not ready unless it was a shortage or other supply issue. And they are consistent with their ingredient prep also. The store is always clean, and easy to get a seat at. The pruneyard has never been easy to find parking at, but that isn't their fault! This was my first time trying Sweet Greens. My boyfriend and I have been trying to eat healthier, especially if we have to eat a late dinner. We saw this spot was open until 10pm so we went in and ordered the Steak Chopped and the Miso Glazed Salmon. Steak Chopped: 8/10 Maybe it's because we went towards closing, but the steak was a bit dry compared to what I saw in the menu. The menu's photos made the steak look better. I had my bowl mixed and enjoyed the variety in my bowl. The one recommendation I have would be to use a bit less blue cheese. A little bit of it tastes good but there was too much in there, which overpowers the rest. Miso Glazed Salmon: 10/10 I really like the way the salmon was made here. Everything in here was to my liking from the sweet potatoes, the salmon, the avocado, to the cucumbers. Perfect combo in my book! Service was very nice and friendly. I chanced hook Sweetgreen browsing DoorDash and I'm not disappointed. Portion size was quite large, with customizable options and quality toppings. You can literally make type of dish you want. What I was most impressed with was the continuous calorie count- each ingredient was rated by how much you'd be adding or taking away from your meal. All in all, it was a fresh experience. I just have to write a review about SweetGreen in Campbell after going in there several times since they opened! First - salads are so good. Today I wanted to be adventurous so I tried one of the summer salads, I think it was the Caprese salad...which comes with a balsamic. I was really craving the spicy cashew. I couldn't decide so the sweet girl suggested one to go cup of each! Perfect since their salads usually make two full meals for me!! Which brings me to one of my favorite things about the Campbell store - the people that help behind the counter. There is a girl named Cambria who always has a smile on her face and asks me how my day is going or if I have any plans for the rest of the evening and we have a little convo while she is making my salad. I am very sure I got food poisoning from the salmon here. I ordered the crunchy rice bowl and asked for salmon instead of steak. After putting the salmon in the bowl, the server said, "this piece looks a little dry... would you be ok with having extra?," and she put a new piece of salmon without taking out the older looking one. I ate both because it still looked fine to me... I shouldn't have because she said it looked dry but she could've thrown it out instead of leave it in my bowl. It also points to bad food handling since it sounds like the salmon was left in unsafe temperatures for too long... The next morning I felt unusually bloated, and not hungry, so though I ordered a chipotle burrito, I only ate some guac with chips. That afternoon, I vomitted horribly so many times from 1:40-5:20pm and ended up going to urgent care because I couldn't even keep water in my body... I added the blackened chicken and a boiled egg. There are many dressing options but I kept it safe and stuck to their ranch which had a heavy dill taste. Some comments I have seen mention the amount you get for the price. I paid a little over $17 and the bowl was enough to fill me, but I think thats due to the rice I added. So I can see how some people may be a little upset about the portions. I was not a fan of only being allowed 4 toppings and no sort of protein without an additional cost. Service was average. I had to ask a lot of questions as I went through the line and felt a bit rushed. When I went back to ask for an additional dressing I was also ignored for a few minutes before I had someone help me. The salad itself was good, no complaints there. You could easily make it yourself at home for a fraction of the cost but it's a good option for a quick lunch in a good location.
