I have been here 3 times since it opened. The salads and bowls are tasty and large but they have a very limited menu. Not only is it limited in variation but it is limited in non Spicy dishes. The first time I went I got the Umami bowl and it was delicious but so spicy. According to the server there was nothing spicy in it but it burned a lot so I couldn't really enjoy it. The second time I ordered a bowl that had multiple lettuce types in it with beans. They said they were out of all greens except Kale so they put in all kale and it was not a tasty dish at all. It was dry and hard to eat and the dressing did not stick to it. I had wanted to order the Steelhead bowl but they were out of steelhead! The 3rd time the Steelhead was back so I ordered it and it was pretty tasty. I had them leave out all the spicy things. The negatives: Not much selection, not many non spicy dishes, they have no outdoor heaters and they don't clean off the tables. And, not their fault but they share an area with Shake Shack and parents seem to take kids there to run off steam while the parents sit and talk and drink. It's REALLY noisy because there are so many kids running around screaming. This is definitely not the place for a date or a good conversation because the noise is bad. It's just as loud inside as it is outside. The positives: I felt like the prices were reasonable for the size of the portions. You are not allowed to give tips to the employees so that saves you money too. I just hope that means they give a high hourly pay to their employees. read more

In the 15 months that 8 people are waiting for their pickup order not one salad has been produced. Meanwhile 2 employees are sitting enjoying their dinners. I am not sure what exactly is happening but very unfair to the delivery people who get tips for timely deliveries. Really need to consider staffing during prime hours. read more

The food is great. The one star is for management and how poorly they run this place. It is probably the worst Sweetgreen that exists. This place always runs out of something. First, the minute we walked in, there was one man at the counter named Daryl, and we got a weird and hostile vibe from him. And after we ordered a simple Avocado Ranch Salad, and a side of romaine lettuce, and when we finished ordering, Daryl completely blew us off and left the counter to "wash his hands." The device was terrible, and we were really disappointed. And a different time, I ordered the same salad, and when I opened it, I saw around 13 little white maggots in it. And when I tried to go back and ask for a refund, the same guy told me rudely that they don't do refunds. Watched one person get out of line, to go orders taking priority, re stocking one item at a time instead of the whole line. This place is a great choice for healthy food. The salads are great and a real meal. Their most popular salad is called the Harvest Bowl. Lots of great ingredients like chicken, sweet potatoes, wild rice, apple, goat cheese, and of course your choice of greens. Plus a delicious balsamic that is a tiny bit sweeter than usual. But the best part was an employee name Pilar. We have been there a dozen times and on each occasion had great service. But Pilar is even better. Plus we have had some of the others forget an ingredient or two, especially when we order to go. This is a very good place to go. read more

It's the fact that they really want you to place your order online, but the online process - impossible to check out as a guest, signing up for an account is more painful than using a potato peeler to trim your nose hairs, waiting on their servers to process clicks suggests they have three-toed sloths operating their data centers - is a digital torture chamber. And look, the food is okay. It's a healthy meal that, while it's not going to trump Tender Greens anytime soon, is certainly fresh...and local. But come on. I personally enjoy the food here. However, recently we ordered via DoorDash and they said they were out of some ingredients (arugula & cucumbers- interesting for a salad place). We proceeded with the order hoping we could call and replace whatever items they are out of with something else. I don't know if you've ever tried calling Sweetgreens, but it is a NIGHTMARE! The phone tree is slow and endless and no matter what route you take you cannot speak to a real person. We tried for over 20 minutes, and even tried the text route they suggest, to no avail. There's absolutely no way to get ahold of this restaurant and it is extremely unprofessional. Our food ended up arriving literally with no lettuce or base. Take a look at the picture. I am a regular at SweetGreen which is why I'm reviewing it again! They never stop blowing my mind with fresh farm to table ingredients! Last night both my Hubble and I had the new Chicken and Brussel Sprout Salad. The Brussel Sprouts we're delicately cut into julienne pieces that didn't overwhelm the salad but added that deliciousness that paired perfectly with the crisp apple. The blackened chicken was moist and had that oh so slight crispy yet soft texture. And the size was more than enough for two people but we love our leftovers! The dressing was a Raspberry Vinaigrette that was made on the premises. Another outstanding and healthy meal to fuel our bodies!!! And the people there are the most friendly and helpful that you feel like you're at home! read more

I'm going to give this company the benefit of the doubt and give them 2 stars (instead of zero) because they're probably super understaffed. Something needs to get fixed though. I tried to create an online account. I clicked on the Sweetgreen email to confirm my email. My account still wouldn't work. After about 10 minutes, I tried calling to order. YOU CAN'T order by phone!!! So 10 more minutes of trying to create an account and finally I'm able to do it! I place an order. It's accepted. I was visiting Georgetown university where my grandfather attended and was lucky enough to stumble upon this delicious salad spot while I was in town. For YEARS since then I have always wished that a similar spot would make it closer to home. Well how lucky am I now! And how much more expansive the menu has gotten. Unfortunately, my experience was quickly reduced as an employee with a bucket hat and rainboots happened to be walking into the store right in front of me. Instead of holding the door open, he quickly started to close it on me as I walked in!! I politely said "Excuse me", but he rolled his eyes, shook his head, and snickered at me before walking into the back. I am no longer going to be visiting this location due to the frequent attitude from the male employees. Now that this one in Carlsbad is finally open I am super excited! There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. A solid salad spot and one of my dad and I's favorite places to go to. It is a bit far out from SD, but sometimes worth the drive. The food here is great and very fresh. I like how you can choose to make your own bowl or order one of your own custom ones. I always get the kale caesar salad and this one hit the spot!
