Today, we chose to have lunch at Sweetgreen for a healthier option. My wife and our 17-month-old shared a roasted chicken bowl, while I went with the blackened chicken bowl. Unfortunately, shortly after we left, my wife started feeling nauseous, and about 45 minutes later, when we got home, she began to vomit. It didn't stop there--soon after, I noticed our daughter crying, and moments later, she also started to vomit. Both of them rarely get sick, so it was alarming to see them affected like this. It seems they both suffered from food poisoning due to the roasted chicken bowl, while I felt fine, likely because I chose a different dish. This experience has left a bad taste in my mouth, and I have no intention of returning to Sweetgreen. I never want my family to endure something like this again. Sweetgreen Irvine Spectrum is now open!! Been a fan of them and finally they are now in OC! Jacob helped me assemble my bowls and he's so awesome! Such great customer service. In fact, the entire team did such a great job taking care of us and everyone around us! I got the Fish Taco bowl for myself and picked up the Harvest bowl for a friend. The food was amazing of course! Everything was so fresh and flavorful! This is located around the corner from Wahoos facing the parking lot of the Irvine Spectrum. I was SO ecstatic to find out that a Sweetgreen opened up locally near me, especially when I always raved about the location in NYC. In NYC, I loved Sweetgreen so much that I'd often order more than I can eat so I can bring it home - because it's THAT good. However, this Irvine location has truly disappointed me - especially because I truly am a Sweetgreen lover, or at least in New York I am. I ordered the Elote bowl per a staff member's recommendation, but it is not worth the hype it received at all. For $15+, it just tasted plain. Yes, the corn is present but it wasn't saving or adding to the meal at all. I felt like a dinosaur just munching on leaves that I didn't even love. I understand that salads are supposed to be healthy, but even with the dressing, it just tasted plain overall. Honestly, I could make a better salad at home for a fraction of the price. Perhaps try another salad choice than the Elote if you plan to come here, but this location definitely did not make me feel the same way as other Sweetgreen locations did. read more

Below are the reasons why: -the red hot sauce was missing -my sister's sauce was missing as well (for the chopped steak entree) -the "grilled" chicken wasn't grilled. First off, I will not be returning to this location. I was looking forward to its opening for months, and was sorely disappointed by everything about my experience. There was ICE in my salad - and not just one piece. Many pieces. The whole salad tasted watery. I was in a hurry or I would've gotten a refund. My friend (who was with me) said his salad tasted the same. Be both said it was the worst location we'd been to. Next, there was no soap in the bathroom - completely empty, though I must say the place looked very clean, to their merit. Also, the service was SO SLOW. Waited forever... I will not be back. Tried calling the store but again it is all AI these days and i was never able to talk to a live person. This restaurant has gone down hill. I drove all the way back to this location and the worker said the fries were "well-done" today. They gave me a scoop of meat into my already made (at this point cold) bowl. The "caramelized garlic steak" tasted like beef jerky. The "fresh" batch of fries, were extremely tough and also cold upon eating a few on the way back home. The wild rice and sweet potatoes were decent I guess. If you're looking for fast healthy options, take your hard earned money to Chipotle or better yet Cava. I got the chicken avocado ranch bowl, which comes with blackened chicken, avocado, pickled onions, apples, tortilla chips, white rice, chopped romaine, and the best part, the green goddess ranch dressing. So it's very often, a salmon miso bowl without the salmon...or a guacamole greens salad without the avocado. Not sure if it's intentional but it's happened multiple times. VEGAN/VEGETARIAN REVIEW Came here for the soft opening and I ordered the Shroomami bowl! I loved the warm wild rice and mushrooms and the miso dressing they used. If you're like me and you want a littleee more flavor, I would recommend adding the sweetgreen hot sauce and the lime cilantro dressing because I think it added a nice kick. The beet and cucumber in the Shroomami bowl was really nice as well. The tofu was ok a little bland and I wish it was a bit softer but not bad. I also added avocado and onions to my bowl, which worked well. The service was really good and the person making my bowl was friendly and fast. Overall good 1st experience with sweetgreen and I definitely want to come back to try their other vegan and vegetarian options! :) read more

When HYPE LA food comes to OC, it's like your three year request for something finally got approved. I got the Guacamole Greens without tortilla chips. I saw the reviews, but I had a feeling I'd still like it. NowI'm hooked. I hate driving to the spectrum, but I killed five birds with one stone the morning I went, and I'd been waiting since they opened to try it. It's better than I thought it would be. Also, it's next to Pieology. You'd think you could just make it at home, but honestly, something about their tomatoes and ingredients that makes me feel as if I can't make it at home. And that's kind of how you know it's good, right? I saw some reviews that said it lacked flavor and this and that, but when the person asks you if you want "light, medium, or heavy?" Just say you want heavy sauce if you want a lot of flavor. I loved how much flavor the sauce had for mine, and I got heavy. Also, I highly recommend getting a pre made bowl. Unless you're super picky and specific, you might enjoy a premade bowl way more than making your own. Usually, I make my own bowls, but this restaurant's premade ones seems like the best choice. To start, I am a huge fan of sweet green. I love their restaurant and frequently go to many other locations. I was so excited that they were opening one at my house. for some reason, this sweegreen is completely different In how they make food. And NOT in a good way. for reference, I have been to this location 4 times now with the same subpar results. this is my biggest issue: I ALWAYS get two dressings at medium amount at all other locations (I can think of 3-4 that I frequent where this is good) and it is a great amount. however this sweet green is so light with the dressings (which are arguably the best part of the salad). I had to start ordering both of my dressings as heavy, and still, there is hardly any. i have literally never had this issue at any other location, and it is as if the workers either don't look at the dressing amount or purposefully don't put as much as you want. secondly, every time i get cilantro and at this specific location it is not chopped or broken up at all and is pretty much and entire portion of cilantro you would buy at the store tossed onto the salad. i love cilantro but this is just way too much and not broken up. And it is odd that this happens every time at this location and never anywhere else. thirdly, every time I have been here my toppings have not been mixed in. again, this has never happened to me at another location. between not putting enough dressing EVER along with these other issues i am led to believe that there are some issues with making the food that have not been wired out after the opening. please at least fix the dressing issue it is extremely aggravating to go to your favorite place and order heavy dressing and find it to be light at the most four times IN A ROW. I will still come here because this is my favorite restaurant, but please fix these issues read more

Horrible customer service!!! I placed an order for delivery and It never arrived. I gave clear simple instructions for the driver to drop the order off at a place of business. It's a straight forward easy access place of business. I asked that the food be dropped off at the reciption desk which is located as you step in through the front door. Nothing difficult at all or so you would think. I watched the drivers loction as it showed her arriving. I texted her and got no responce. Called her and nothing. The food showed delived but nothing! I attempted to call Sweetgreen and got a freaking robot that gave me a number to another robot to chat with. I let the chatbot know what happened and it just apologized for the issue saying we can issue a refund the you will get in 5-10 days!! WTF!! I just wanted food!! I asked the chatbot if I could get a replacement order and was told I would have to place a new one! Pay for a new order wait 5-10 days for a refund! Continually the worst experience every time going here. They are always out of things. We came in tonight at 8:20 and ordered 2 harvest bowls. They were out of all rices, not just the wild rice that comes on the bowl. Clearly the bowls have rice. The comment from the person making the bowls is no waste. You should not have something on the menu and not be able to make a complete bowl. They were also out of ripple fires. They clearly did not want to make any. I eat at Sweetgreens in W. Hollywood off Sunset Blvd. The 2 times I've gone there to eat they are So Generous with the servings of Greens and Vegetables. The protein may cost a lil extra. Living in OC I looked to see if there was a Sweetgreens in OC and there was in city of Tustin. When I went they said I can only have up to 3 of greens and 3 of the vegetables and if I wanted more they would charge ??? I thought they are stingy with the greens and vegetables , proteins I can understand.... Top it off it took minutes for employee to take my order when we were the only ones there??? Service: I came during lunch rush hour on a Tuesday around 12:30pm, and in total, it took me 25mins to get my food. I felt like the workers were a little stressed and overwhelmed by the long line of customers and the backed up order of prepped food from the kitchen team. It seemed like the workers were giving less food to customers because the demand for food was higher than the kitchen could supply. The pass-off from my food prep agent to the cashier wasn't very seamless. Given the store had recently just opened, maybe the employees are still new, but she looked very confused and lost on what to do after she was done making my bowl. When I asked the cashier for a to-go bag, she pointed at the wall for me to bag my food myself and assisted the next customer. It would have been helpful if she had conversed with me during checkout about my experience, empathize with me about the long wait time, whether I'd be dining in or i'd be bringing it home, and informed me where to get the utensils and drinks, etc. Food: I got the harvest bowl and it was very good! I love the balsamic vinegar dressing and thought it paired very well with the other ingredients. The food tasted fresh and clean.
