Purchased a 2022 Pilot and traded in my Chrysler Pacifica which still had a loan balance. Part of the financing deal was that they would pay off the loan balance with the 10 day payoff period - Totally normal, right? I thought nothing of it as I have done this before with other dealers and had no issues. Finished signing and the finance guy asked if I wanted printed copies or if he could email them to me. I thought I'd save some paper and agreed to receive them via email - never got them. Today I log into my account for the loan on the Chrysler and they have still not paid it off. So I am stuck with a loan on a car I no longer own and I bet I'm on the hook for the extra interest too. I don't know if this is sheer incompetence or outright fraud, but I would never risk buying another vehicle here again. Had a great experience buying a car from Brian at Swickard Honda. Although the dealership was extremely busy, Brian took all the necessary time I needed to make the right choice. He was patient with me as I test drove a couple of vehicles. Was mindful of my finances, and wanted to make sure that my payment obligations would be a good fit for me and my family. I appreciated his experience and knowledge about the whole process, and the vehicle I ultimately purchased (a used 2015 Ford Flex). He helped us with making sure everything was perfect with the car, and made sure my wife was relaxed and happy with the vehicle. Buying a new CRV took all day. Sales person Andrew Grimes was fantastic, but GM guy lowballed us on our trade by over $7,000. Finance guy we dealt with no longer works there?? We purchased the car on 11/29/24 and first payment is due 01/13/25. No information has been received from American Honda Credit Company. Phoned the dealership several times to speak to another finance person and had to leave a voice message. Person never called back. We are ready and willing to make the first payment, but cannot go on-line and set up an account with American Honda Finance BECAUSE WE HAVE NEVER RECEIVED OUR FIRST PAYMENT STATEMENT! We have 866 credit score, never pay late, and have never missed a payment. This is getting ridiculous dealing with this dealership. Would never use or recommend them again. Dishonest thieves at this dealership. Bought a new car that had the check engine light on the first night. Go to get it looked at and they told my wife if you don't like it you can return it. So we did and went to Dick Hannah in Vancouver. The people at Swickard Honda are shady and don't care about the customer. They had multiple issues when signing paperwork and the overall experience was horrible. The GM Josh is very rude and pretty much a coward. He was rude to my wife and said he would speak to me in the same way. Funny the chicken shit sent his female sales employee to sign the return paperwork. They lied and said we didn't get financing. Funny how we went the next day and got a better Honda at a lower price, better coverage, features and a way better customer experience. My husband and I made an appointment to see a used vehicle on Sunday. When we looked over the car it was obviously in bad condition and not as described on the website. While we were by the desk at the front entry, we witnessed an extremely unprofessional interaction. A young, tall kid was screaming at people in front of everyone. The sales person, who was very friendly and professional, said the guy's name was Danny and that he was actually a manager and this was normal behavior for him! Excuse me? It was the most uncomfortable, strangest thing we have ever witnessed and we have purchased a dozen vehicles at dealerships. My husband wanted to interject but it wasn't worth it. Luckily the car was so bad we didn't buy it. Reading other reviews it looks like this guy's name is Danny Jahnke and he is as bad as we witnessed. I'd suggest staying far away from here. read more

Worst car buying experience EVER! Very shady salespeople. First...we were doing this deal over the phone and agreed on a sales price, then the next morning Floor Manager Danny told us he made a mistake and underquoted price by $8,000. After we tried to insist they honor their original deal, we offered to split the difference (we'd come up with additional $4k in cash if they would drop the price by $4K). He still refused. Hubby REALLY wanted the truck, so we agreed to the higher purchase price (it was still within blue book value). Then Danny wanted to try to beat the financing from our bank (we had already been pre-approved), so he said he would contact his lenders and get back to us "shortly". We waited the entire rest of the day and never heard another word. The next day (yes...now we are on day 3), Danny tells us that he will contact lenders about financing (what? He told us he was doing that the day before?!?) and call us back in 30 minutes. Two hours later, with no call back from Danny, we called the GM, James Mullins, who apologized and promised to get the deal back on track. Later that day, they came back with a better interest rate, so the deal was done (verbally) for the second time. The new purchase price included two add-ons that were NOT optional (@$399 each), but NOT included in the purchase price), plus one that was optional...an extended warranty for $4495 which was for 48 months and 100,000 miles. Since we were purchasing a pre-owned vehicle and plan on traveling in it, we thought that was an important, albeit expensive feature, so we agreed to it. When the paperwork finally arrived (on day 5), the warranty was NOT what had been discussed. The price was the same, but the terms were for 3 years and 36,000 miles. Guess what...ANOTHER MIS-QUOTE by Danny. They did offer an upgraded warranty at the same cost, so we ended up with five years and 60,000 miles and they ate the difference in cost, but it was still NOT what was agreed upon originally. THEN...on day 6, when my husband is on his way from Brookings to Gladstone (a seven hour drive), to pick up the newly purchased truck, he receives a call to tell him the truck was no longer on the lot and they didn't know where it was! Eventually it was located and returned (seems that some corporate VP had borrowed it, despite a SOLD sign on it, without telling anyone). What that told us is that their internal communication was every bit as bad as their external communication. There were several times during this transaction where we probably should have walked, but the truck was beautiful and had all the bells and whistles we needed. BUT...had we known they would pull a "bait and switch" on us not once, but twice, we certainly would have gone elsewhere. BUYER BEWARE! Horrible service and experience. Don't waste your time like I did. I'd been searching for a Honda CR-V EX for a while, comparing different dealerships, prices, and so on. This is the first dealership that sold a car out from underneath me, upcharged on Honda default additions (all season package, few others) by hundreds compared to other dealerships... Thank god that Mark couldn't even supply me with a properly formatted text (tons of typos, rude, denied to provide any paperwork and claimed I should already have it), if I had purchased this vehicle, it would've been a mistake. It was a mistake even calling this dealership and wasting my time. Honda dealerships may tack on the extra things at the end (all season protection, door guards, the default if you want it), but the fact is that Swickard charged hundreds more than other dealerships, for example Wilsonville. Sure Beaverton sales wasn't that great, but I'd give them 2-3 stars. Swickard dealership I would provide the negative value rating if I could, below 1 star. Don't waste your time with Swickard dealership. Out of all 8-11 dealerships I've contacted during that time, Swickard was by far the worst. Certainly don't even bother with Mark. Charging an extra $200-300 per addition compared to other dealerships is ridiculous, additions that are preinstalled... I'm glad I'm going with Wilsonville Honda for my future vehicles and not calling Swickard again. read more

I went in there close to closing time on a weekday and not once did I feel rushed. I was helping my brother in law trade in his old car and get a CRV. Despite the pouring rain, they went out of their way to pull up the car in 3 different colors so he felt confident with the color I chose. They gave him a fair deal for his trade-in and an excellent deal on the new car. I've seen the Swickard name at more than a few dealerships in Oregon and am glad they're in the game. Had an oil change. My car has less then 30,000 miles on it and started to leak. So I took into another mechanic because Swickard wanted $180 to diagnose a problem they created. Also, this mechanic found a lot of other issues like cracked tires. Why wasn't this brought to my attention at the oil change?! My tires passed Swickard's inspection report The oil created a bigger headache then it should have, lots of things were missed, and nothing was communicated to about other issues with the car. Christina was sooo easy going, super sweet, and incredibly patient with my two year old and I. I was feeling pretty anxious about car shopping with my tiny human. When I was taking to Christina for the first time I asked her if it would be weird to take my car seat in the car I was planning on test driving. She told me not at all and that it actually happens a lot more than you'd expect. The day of the test drive was far more enjoyable than I had anticipated. Like I said, I was pretty stressed out about it but she actually created a very warm, welcoming, and caring vibe. No pressure. No judgements. Momo, the finance genie, was efficient and thorough. He picked up pretty quickly that I wasn't afraid to speak up about the packages they had to offer me. He was friendly and very patient with both myself and the tiny human. He was also training someone and from what i observed he was doing a thorough job explaining what he was doing and not condescending in the least. The only person that rubbed me the wrong way was the "closer" who tried telling me that the finance company wouldn't approve the loan without an extended warranty. It felt as if he just wanted to see if I would nod my head and say okay and fold. I straight up said "you're telling me the finance company is requiring that i purchase an extended warranty?" and he replied with "well, I can see what the company will say but I can't guarantee anything." This is my first experience car shopping without my family friend of 17 years who's the finance manager at a dealership in my home town and when I told him what the person told me my friend told me to tell the closer to stop being cute and to not worry, he'll make his money. Of course I didn't say this but at this point the closer just stopped talking to me and wouldn't even make eye contact. After that interaction, it was only Christina and Momo and the trainee (who was super friendly- sorry i forgot your name!) that I needed to talk with. Wish I could say something nice about Swickard after I have bought 4 cars over the years from T&C/Swickard. I took my Honda Pilot in for an oil change on Tuesday morning. I pay, leave and get on the freeway only to have my transmission light come on. I call them, they say to bring it back in. I take it in, get a loaner (thinking all is good), and day and a half later I get a call from the service tech that my torque is out in my transmission and it'll cost $4200 to fix, and unsure if that will even fix the issue. They swear they haven't touched my transmission, and this just all happened after I got my oil change by coincidence. I go pick up my car to get a second opinion, ask them for a DETAILED report of what they did, and what they found and I am still to receive anything. They promised me I'd have it by end of day Friday. I've called 4x since then, leaving voicemails every time and still nothing. Save yourself a trip, and stay away! read more

This is one of my least favorite businesses. I have very few negative reviews on Yelp, you can lo ok it up. Here is the story. I bought a new car from Swickard and that was fine. After a week or two driving the car the Honda sensing said it was not working. We took the Car in and get an estimate of ~$2k to fix it and replace a wheel. They did not explain the issues well to my wife and we took the car home to figure out what to do. I found that an insurance plan we purchased covered some damage on the wheel. So, I took the car back to have Honda Sensing fixed and see what was covered by insurance. When I arrived, they had no idea what the original estimate was. It took an hour and a half for them to comprehend their own original estimate. They also produced a totally different estimate for fixing the radar. My "advisor" asked if I'd bring back the car another day. I made the appointment for that day. We are two working parent and getting to the dealer is a hassle so left the car. It is now over a week and a half after I took the car to the dealer and it is still there. It seems we didn't need a new wheel after all! Instead they are doing some cosmetic worAfter the first week they completed an alignment and that's it. We had to text for an update. I have no idea when the car service will be completed. My "advisor" doesn't seem to know when. I'm not sure who I dislike most. The original crew that came up with a completely bogus estimate or the current guy who is taking forever to get things done and never explains what or why he's doing what he's doing. This was therapeutic for me. Update: The good: They finished work on Tuesday, so two days shy of two weeks. The work completed was an alignment, fixing the radar, and removing road rash from the wheels. The final bill was very reasonable, $179. The bad: That is not two weeks of work. They did not do work on some dings on the bumper. I do not know how they determined not to do this work. There was no explanation. When I picked up the car, the service agent asked for my money and signature. He did not show me the car or explain the charges. When I started to read the documents I was signing he tried to interrupt me, saying "you will get your own copy." Perhaps what the gentleman didn't understand is I do not trust Swickard automotive services and thus I want to understand what it is I am signing for and what I am paying for. He repeated this line twice as if I didn't hear him the first time. To be honest, his tactic worked as I didn't understand that they did not do the bumper work until I saw the car. By that point I was so disgusted that I just left. Conclusion: I will never take my car to be serviced by Swickard. Never. It is such a colossal waist of time to deal with these people that I rather take my car elsewhere, even if the charge is more. That being said, note that had we not pushed back on the original estimate, we would have paid about $1600 for work that cost $179. I don't want to do business with anyone that tries to take over $1000 from me without providing value. read more

My experience here was so bad that I've actually come out of Yelp retirement to write this review. The sale itself was fine although I do think the price on my 2016 Subaru Outback wasn't very competitive especially given the fact that there is some minor cosmetic damage (even after they repaired a few dents and did some light buffing). I only came to Swickard Honda because it used to be Town and Country and I was told a lot of the same folks just stayed on when they were bought out. Town and Country also gave me a really competitive price for my 2015 Honda Fit and I (perhaps naively) thought Swickard would do the same. I purchased the car on 7/4/19 and my financing company still hasn't received the payoff check for my trade-in. 2 weeks after my purchase I contacted them because my financing company was sending me texts about my payment being late. At that time I was informed the check had been sent on the 16th. It's now the 24th and they still have not received the payment and the late payment grace period ends tomorrow. I also was assured they would not run my credit for more than one bank since I came in with a pre-qualified offer and am aware of what my options are based on my credit. I asked about this specifically as this has happened in the past and had a negative impact on my credit. They also ran my credit with an additional bank and as a result, there's an additional hard inquiry on my credit report. I was also told because I'd purchased an extended warranty, I would be receiving a pro-rated refund since I was trading in the car before the expiration of the extended warranty. Granted the dealership that I purchased the car from is no longer around they still have an email address they check for things like this. The Swickard Honda person initially did not even send them the paperwork they needed and now I'm looking through my old files to see if I have something in my records because we're going back and forth because they're claiming they don't have a record of my purchase of that warranty. I definitely won't be going back even for repairs and services included in my extended warranty; especially after reading the reviews on here. I'd rather spend my money elsewhere even though it means paying a higher deductible. My gf brought her car in for service and they recommended an fuel injection service. Well, that was a huge FKN mistake!! Since then she's been having problems with her car. She brought it back and they "fixed" it for her. Today, her car does the same damn thing and stalls IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. This was the worst experience I ever could've imagined buying a car. These guys are incredibly shady liars who threatened to COME TO MY HOME and take my car from me. My signed contract was never forwarded to my credit union for payment because apparently the finance guy who sold me my car was fired sometime after. The dealership wasn't even aware of this hold up until I stopped by to pick up the floor mats they tried to say weren't included with my new 2024 HRV (they were, luckily I had kept the window sticker). But while I was there I asked a question about my warranty so some guy pulled my contract then laughed saying that nothing had even been done on the deal yet. The next day I get a call from the finance team claiming I had signed two different agreements, one with "more protection included" and wanted me to verbally agree to which one I wanted to be sent to my credit union. I requested copies of both be emailed so I could see what I was agreeing to, and because I knew I had only signed one contract. Neither were sent, but about 30 minutes later I received a call from the sales manager Zach Rangel saying they were "out of time" on this deal and that I now needed to come return my car. Mind you they had cashed my $6,000 down payment 10 days prior. I tried explaining the error on their end, it's not my fault their finance guy didn't do his job and they had to fire him. Zach didn't hear much of what I said because he continued to shout over me that they would be coming to my house to take the car back from me. It was frightening and truly unbelievable. He just kept saying they were coming to get the car. I still cannot believe this is actually a Honda dealership. No one seems to know what they're doing and they hold zero integrity. Even now that my vehicle has been paid off in full I don't feel confident that I won't get another call accusing me of something and trying to get more money. Brought in a 2019 Honda CR-V for issues with infotainment system, corroborated with video of the malfunction and the Honda service bulletin. Despite this, service department would not even check software version unless I left the car there until a service technician could witness the problem himself, claiming this was a Honda policy. A phone call to another dealer proved that was not the case and this other dealer would update under warranty. They took my money for a car so damaged it cannot be repaired and they knew the damage was this bad and they had no qualms about taking my money watching me drive off in a rolling casket. They are not going to care more about you or your family - these people are u scrupulous and punished me , a 55 year old woman recovering from a heart attack who had to go back to work to support myself. I worked hard to be able to buy a car and without any consideration or shred of human decency , they have 10,000 ND they left me in the rain and cold with no coat to find my way home. Now I get to hire an attorney , meanwhile I hace medical support therapy sessions I can't get to , a job I cannot get to easily and I'm absolutely devastated. There were no parking Lots available, because people are rushing to get ready for the snow storm hits the next week, so I parked in front the front door. I checked in and the advisor there told me " we didn't see this car has been serviced here." He saw other two cars, but not this one. I told them I have it serviced at the dealer. He said no worry, I'll check you in. Then he said " It's be free of charge, but you are looking about 3hrs to 4hrs wait. He said lots of people are also waiting in front you. We are busy today. He said " I am sorry". I told him I have no choice, please go ahead. I have to pick up my son in Salem at 6pm. He confirmed with me " Are you going to pick up your son at 6pm today ?" I said yes. He looked at me and said " I see what I can do? Please have a seat. After 45mn waited, he came out to me " YouR car is ready Sir!" Have a safe drive to Salem and pick up your son. You guys see it!!!! That business is even small, they could have done like this dealer does to me, it's just Business. But they don't. They stand by their value and their value is " Trust and Cooperation". If this discount tires keep this leadership behavior going, they will always thrive to last. Now turn around to my conversation with Platon, the service manager at Honda DeaLer. He interrupted me most of the time to get hiS defensive out from his leadership style. He said like we pay our tech to work, so we have to charge fees to our clients...or you mean " I don't cAre about you as human beings or your issue whatever Yoo-hoo seem to have. I am here to make profit, the more they make, the more bonus I will get. Another part was, he said " Wow...I would have paid $20 to get it fixed beside waiting there for 3-4hrs, when he interrupted me in the middle of I was telling. Simply amazing right. If this place faces issues, it's not the employees and techs fault, simply the mistake of hiring the leadership with high performance, but low trust. People will not follow them around, they will do what the leaders said, because they have authority over them, but they don't follow. March 5, 2020: I got a check engine light on with flashing D light. Got an appointment at 11:30am, I got there at 10:45am, just give them sometimes to check me in. Standing without greeting from anyone for about 5-7mn. Then Kelsey asked me, she checked me in. Waited in the lobby till 2pm, no proper check up. I went and asked how was it? She said the tech isn't sure yet, maybe transmission issue. I said so it will take longer right. She said yes. I told her I need a ride home because I have another appointment to go for. Christian, 19yrs old took me home. He just started there about 2months. Kelsey called me around 4-5pm, I think, she told me it's the transmission sensor pressure are bad, and she asked also to replace the trans. fluid. I agreed. She told me, the car will be done tomorrow, which is Friday at noon. I asked for a car rental, because the expense is more than $300, should be accommodated. She said no rental car available. The next day, I went on doing my lists. I finished it around 1pm. There is no call or text from Kelsey, none. I had to dropped my wife at work, then pick up her later, hopefully the car is done. I got a text, your is done, you can pay through their website. The text sent out almost 5pm, which was promised it's done by noon. There were no follow-up calls or texts, nothing. It was like ghost town you know. I couldn't get the car, I was at Tigard to pick up my wife. We had no rental car offer, no apology, even no phone call to follow up. They knew I was dropped by, so I need a ride to pick it up, I told them that. Here the reasons-why I still keep going there to have them work on my car; I needed to collect the datas. Terrible, deceptive, lying jerks. I called ahead to confirm the availability of the car I wanted to test drive and buy. They confirmed it was in stock, so I drove 40 minutes out of my way to go get it. Upon arriving, they told me the car had sold so I asked when it sold. The salesman told me it had sold that morning, which would have been prior to when I called to confirm its availability. I told him I was pissed and he assured me he would speak to Evelyn in internet sales to make sure this doesn't happen again. Two days later I notice the car is still on their website even though they sold it two days ago. So I call in pretending to be interested in the car. I ask Evelyn if the car is available and she tells me it is. I asked if she was positive and she said she was. So I asked her how it is available when they sold it two days ago. She did not have a good answer for this because there is no good answer: she and the salesman I spoke to lied. It has now been 5 hours since that phone call and they STILL have that car listed on their website. read more

Not sure where the hell they pulled a +40 point credit score from but they did and got me a subvented rate I didn't think I'd qualify for. I also traded in a convertible in the WINTER time and they gave me a fair trade value on that too. Needless to say, I LOVE my civic and every single time I look at it I want to cry from happiness. Went to buy a used vehicle. Car was very scratched up. No worries. When my son sat in drivers side of the Cadillac CTS Coupe, a rod was sticking up out of the ripped drivers seat. Salesman said it was his car, but presented himself as surprised to see this. No word of this in description. Offered $14k for the car. We would do the repairs, (including sunroof that would not close). Car listed for $16890. Supposed previous owner salesman comes and offers us $24k deal with a warranty. Second he offered $18k. Oh that included repair of the drivers seat for $980. Really? Not saying they are all bad there, but do yourself a favor.. GO ELSEWHERE TO BUY A VEHICLE. They must really think people are stupid. read more

I wanted to be able to leave a positive review after this experience was over but after weeks of no response from the manager, I feel we have no choice but to share our story. We went to the dealership with two cars in mind and after driving them, landed on Vehicle A, signed the papers and drove it home. The following afternoon around 3pm my husband received a phone call from a different salesperson saying that there was a mistake and the vehicle we bought had been sold to someone else earlier the previous day. We were told someone would be by to pick it up later in the day and return it to the dealership. We were obviously confused and upset, but figured we couldn't really do anything and let a salesperson (we had never met) come take Vehicle A away. We spoke to the sales manager Bruce on the phone and he said he'd like to make it right and we could come look at what else they had on the lot. After some thought we decided to go with Vehicle B that we test drove and decided against the previous day. We had decided against is because of the high mileage but Bruce threw in a warranty that put our mind at ease, having such a high mileage used car. 3 days later the engine light came on and back to the dealership we went. They fixed the problem at Swickard, but we were uneasy and wondered if we made a bad choice. 10 days after that we had the vehicle looked at at a Jeep dealership in our town (30 mins from the Swickard) to make sure if was fixed properly. It was a free inspection, so it wasn't even super involved. The Jeep dealership said the radiator was leaking and needed to be replaced. We gave them our warranty info and they said we needed to talk to the Swickard because it was possibly a pre existing issue. THIS IS ALL BEFORE WE MADE OUR FIRST PAYMENT. Fast forward to today (2 weeks after having it looked at by the Jeep dealership) and we cannot get Bruce on the phone. We've emailed and called multiple times. Having trouble with the Sirius radio in my CRV (less than a year old). Sirius says it's a radio problem and I have to take it to the dealer (Swickard Honda). Called them on lunch break and couldn't have been a nicer group of people. Marcus, in Service, described for me a step I could try and then gave me reassurance that if it doesn't work the Service Department will figure it out and fix it free, under warranty. So great to see that the name may have changed but it's still a helpful group of auto people I can count on. Update: It worked! Thank you Marcus & Swickard Honda for the great service!!! read more
