Our server was polite, friendly and very welcoming. We had meatlovers omelet, camp cakes with Kiełbasa and a side of corn beef hash. Everything we ordered was really tasty. Loved their meatlovers omelet. I would say their camp cakes are a must try, a different take on regular pancakes. If you go in on a weekend or a holiday they can be very busy and it might take a little longer to get the food. If you are a big group it could take some time to get seated based on what time of the day or week you go there. Overall we had a great experience. Their monte christo sammich is made with what I assume to be actual roasted turkey, crisped Canadian ham and shredded Swiss cheese rather than cheap coldcuts. Corned beef hash is homemade with onions and definitely worth the $5 for a small side. Reuben's are solid though light on the meat. Go there! Seriously best spot. But stick to breakfast. But I had a botched encounter with their end of day staff when restaurant was empty after a busy Saturday cleared out. Not the end of the world but I ordered a chefs salad, spinach instead of iceberg, w blue cheese dressing. (Standard salad bar quality, but decent and satisfying none the less.) Instead I got an iceberg salad with a small side of spinach seconds later with an apology of the server. Then they switched out the spinach and iceberg at my request, brought me more spinach at my request bc the toppings to greens ratio was straight up ratched, ebur ach time I had to wait to get her attention or get checked on as she was busy with closing sidework. Then, after I had poured an entire cup of what turned out to be *ranch* dressing all over the salad. So I sent it back, server dumped it, came back and said something insinuate it wasn't ranch but actually blue cheese. Listen, maybe they're the same color and consistency but I know the difference a MILE AWAY and you should too. Ranch is nasty and should only be consumed while drunkenly housing buffalo wings and pizza crusts. Even then, if you're not down with blue cheese IDFWU. Also what's up with people using iceberg for salads still? But listen lady, even if you have to pop open a lid or sniff test that shit. If someone orders a premade side of condiment and it turns out to be the wrong thing, no harm no foul. But once you've deposited dressing and tossed an entire bowl of salad, there's no going back. Anyway she offered me something else but after all that uncomfortable back and forth my dining companion had already finished his meal and I had been picking at his. I have served for years. At over a dozen restaurants, a diner once, four star cloth napkin and table cloth recite-specials-from-memory fine dining in big cities, and high volume outdoor seasonal spots grossing a hundred grand of sales in one revenue day. Also shitty dives. I've served the pants off people and I've made my fair share of mistakes, I've experienced mistakes, hell one is bound to if one has eaten out their whole life. Everyone has a bad day, we all fuck up sometimes, but at least be real. But that wasn't a fuck up, it was a series of unfortunate events, a comedy of errors. Also I don't get when places that have soda fountains or bars that have guns and charge you the soda price for seltzer. It's just water. With a tiny bit of co2 gas. And ice. Costs maybe 3 cents to make, takes no labor to "make" nor is more time consuming than pouring a regular water. read more

Just ate there, today labor day 2020. When we arrived we were greeted kindly by the hostess, who gave us our wait time. When we sat down the bus boy set up our table and was nice. Our server was an older lady with short curly hair. She took our order in a bit of a rush. I went to ask her a question and she responded with an attitude. When she brought our orange juice she slammed it on the table and spilled some on our utensils and napkins and sprinkled any that spilled on her hand on our table. She slammed the coffee on the table, and threw the creamer and sugar at our table. I saw her interact with other guests in a friendly manner, taking time to answer their questions and discuss the options. When we interacted with her she was very abrupt and curt, and rolled her eyes. She gave me attitude when I finally asked for napkins to clean up the spilled orange juice and utensils. We got the meatloaves omelette, which was good, and stuffed french toast with blueberries, which was bland. I don't know why she was so rude to us in particular. The only difference I saw with us and the other patrons was that we were the only ones that were not white. If you decide to go here and are a person of color, maybe keep this in mind. I ask the restaurant to please treat all your patrons kindly, even if they look different from you. read more

If I were a local I think everyone would have known me by name. We went for breakfast on a cold weekday morning. The restaurant was half-filled. We were greeted with a smile. We both went for omelets. I had a ham broccoli and cheese, with toast and home fries that I added peppers and onions to. I'm glad I added the peppers and onions because even with them the home fries could have used a bit more flavor. The toast, made from homemade bread, was great. My omelet had plenty of fillings and there were big chunks of real ham, not deli ham. The coffee was adequate, but I am tough with coffee. I prefer a richer, bolder roast and this wasn't that. We were looking for breakfast on our way back from Bar Harbor and found this place here on Yelp, located in a strip plaza/mall. We came on Labor Day and it was PACKED. We only waited a few minutes for a table but soon after we were seated a line formed outside. Prices and portion size are good. We waited awhile for our food to come, longer than a usual wait, even though it was busy, and we were starving. The wait staff worked really hard though and they were running around getting orders, filling coffee mugs, and clearing tables the whole time. Food was standard breakfast fare. It's just a good neighborhood place that people in town know they are going to get a good meal. We both had the Blueberry Pancakes w/Bacon and they were better that those that we had the other day in Northeast Harbor - fluffy with fresh delicious blueberries. Not a fancy place by any means - just good food at a very fair price. We were happy we didn't stay at the Inn one more morning to have the same thing for twice the price and perhaps not even as good. My wife's friends at the Y' all go here so we had to try it out. They close at 1 PM this time of year so come for breakfast and lunch. They serve Breakfast all the time they are open but they also have a nice lunch selection. It is inside the little Mill Mall. Bright and cheerful place. Walls are lined with wood paneling and there are 2 large and very colorful murals of Maine scenes painted on a couple of walls. The service is quick, friendly and very helpful. Soft drink glasses are refilled without being asked and all questions answered. The food is good. Extensive selection of hot Breakfast items including omelets and pancakes. White board lunch specials in addition to the menu. "Sylvia's slam" is a nice haddock filet with bacon, Swiss and lettuce and tomatoes: very filling and good. Crabmeat club had a generous portion of crabmeat on 3 slices of toasted rye with bacon, lettuce and tomatoes. Yummy. Fries and onion rings were disappointing. Not at all greasy but not crisp and the breading on the rings was a bit thick. Fries were limp. Everything else was good however and the excellent service made up for a lot.
