Legend of Szechuan was too busy to take our order so we tried this Chinese restaurant instead. I literally made a yelp account so I could warn others away from this place. I am not trying to be malicious, but I had to let people know about our poor experience. Not only did we pay over fifty dollars for our takeout with VERY LITTLE MEAT, but everyone who ate there also got food poisoning. My boyfriend's beef entree only had three pieces of dried up meat, my shrimp entree had minimal shrimp and was suspended in a strange gooey liquid. Great prices, Great food and Great Service! We always get a family style and they let us make a substitution free of charge. You get an appetizer plate, general tsaos chicken, mar far chicken(usually comes with shrimp), Kung pao chicken, and rice for 11.50 a person. We get it for two and always have a ton leftover. Over the past few years we've ordered numerous times for delivered meals. Generally, $40-70, depending on how many we were feeding. This is the second time in about two years that our food did not arrive. Both times we received confirmation that out order was received, a delivery time and what our card was charged. The first time, I called and was told the order hadn't been seen. I talked to a couple different people, including someone at the Cottage Grove restaurant and eventually our food was delivered, much later than expected. We continued to order from time to time without issue. Until this evening. We ordered online, went through a verification process and received an emailed confirmation with a delivery time, the food ordered and what our card was charged. 20+ minutes after the delivery time had passed, I called to check on it. It had been almost an hour and a half since we had ordered. I was asked for our address. Then told to hold while a private discussion commenced. When she returned to the phone she informed me that it would be another 20-25 minutes. We cancelled our order and asked to have our card refunded. She told me to call the website. I was dumbfounded, asked her to repeat what she had said and at that point she spoke privately to a man, and then told me she would cancel the order. She told me to call next time to see how busy they are. Was our order ever received? Surely this is not a great system if orders aren't being seen or filled after confirmation emails are sent out. Since Kowloons and Lok Yaun have drastically gone down hill and are horrible, we have been trying new places to find our favorite old dishes. Well first off, if you grew up or lived in areas of Oregon that is south of Eugene you know what Pink shrimp sauce is. Some places in Eugene have pink shrimp sauce but this place did not, so right there they lose a star. They never offered Tea, another star down. Now the other let down, the Mar Far chicken was a different version then the original Mar Far chicken developed in Medford Oregon, that is so popular through out Oregon. I did not like it but my husband did it eat it all. The Pork fried rice had NO pork, peas or carrot pieces. The Pork spare ribs were cooked in a brown sugar sauce that I was not wanting, I wanted the sweet and sour, but it still tasted OK. The chicken subgum was OK. Their version of egg flower soup tasted good but lacked little chicken pieces. Plus side the BBQ Pork is the old style and not that new nasty stuff other places has changed to like Golden Orient and above mentioned places. The shrimp is still the old tempura style which was good but with NO pink sauce they are bland. Large portions, we only ordered one plate for the two of us, as we did not know what to expect, I had a small plate full, my husband ate alot and we still had left overs to take home. The glass of merlot was vinegar rancent and I did not finish it. Ordered through Hungryducks.com that part was super easy. And the delivery part was pretty fast. Okay we ordered 2 dinners #6 & #9, pork lo mein noodles. Also, the Appetizer plate. Lets start with the appetizer plate. Everything was dry and over fried is the best way to say it. Shrimp, bbq pork, egg roll and crab puff. Dinner # 6 The ribs not sure what the sauce was but it wasn't sweet n sour. The ribs had more like a roast taste. Everything that had a batter on it was very sweet like a sugary donut. I am not sure if that is customary or not. But it wasn't something I look for in Chinese food. Rice was bland and had nothing but rice & soy sauce. Chicken subgum chow mein had ramen noodles not yoshiba. The only thing that was good was the pork lo mein noodles. I liked the quickness of the delivery. Also, that the condiments I listed were all delivered but one. The sesame seeds. We ordered from Szechuan Chinese when the owners first took over. it wasn't good then. DO NOT EAT HERE! I had dinner here, and later in evening vomited and had runny crap ALL night. I told the waitperson the food tasted and smelled bad. My girlfriend and I just ate here hers was good she got the Mothers chicken , I got the Sweet and Sour chicken and pork Chow main ... I could not even eat the chow main and I ate the sweet and sour chicken I tell you I am regretting that sick to my stomach ... the service was not good they took off in the back for almost the hole time we were there I would have sent the chow main back but there was no waitress .... I told them that I couldn't eat the chow main because of how bad it was and they didn't offer to replace it or anything so I payed my bill and left unhappy and displeased with this place ..... I will never eat here again and will make sure all my friends and family won't as well. After craving some Chinese food I decided to give it a shot and called an order in. I could barely hear the person due to her obviously talking to people there during my order. I had to repeat and literally spell out my order. I ordered a dinner combo with no changes to it hoping they wouldn't screw they up and a bottled drink. The person said it would be a 40 minute wait but it took them over two hours and a call from me after an hour asking if it was ready but got a snotty response of sorry, your order got misplaced I'll take it again. When I got the food finally it was soggy and looked like mush and the drink was a room temperature fountain fountain drink watered down from melted ice. I let the driver l now I wasn't happy but thanks her since she is only the driver and doesn't make it. I couldn't even take two bites of each item, and within an hour got the worst stomach ache in years. The next day I looked at my bank account and saw the total amount for delivery and tip, them noticed a second charge for the amount I tipped so they actually charged me twice for a $5 tip which is completely shady. I wonder how many people they do it to hoping they don't notice the small amount. I was patient, kept my cool, and got the worst meal and service in years. My girlfriend and I ordered delivery and had the family style dinner B, which consisted of Pork Fried Rice, Sweet & Sour Ribs, Chicken Subgum Chow Mein, Fried Shrimp, and a mixture of appetizers (Crab Puffs, Spring Roll, and Barbecued Pork). Appetizers were decent. Not amazing, but definitely not bad. The Pork Fried Rice was okay, but the pork was extremely dry. The Sweet & Sour Ribs sauce was all sweet and no sour, and the meat was very bland. The Chicken Chow Mein was easily the best part of the meal, but unfortunately that's not saying a whole lot. If I were to order from here again I would probably stick to that. The Fried Shrimp was incredibly tasteless. Barely edible with their sweet & sour sauce. A lot of food for $25 (including delivery fee). Inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. Probably won't be ordering from here again. read more

My meal took two hours to get to me and when it did the bag was leaking. My food was open as well and it was cold. The cashew shrimp did not have very much shrimp and was mostly nasty veggies. I decided to check this place out after seeing their coupon on the Savvy Saver at my friend's house. I didn't have a coupon myself, but noticed that had a dish called "mother's chicken" which is a favorite of mine at a Chinese restaurant on Bend, OR. I have been mostly disappointed in the Chinese food in Eugene, usually going to Lok Yaun for lack of a better place. I was very pleased that they have lunch menu prices on the weekends during lunch time, Lok Yaun does not. My boyfriend ordered the Mother's chicken lunch special, I decided to try their sesame chicken since that's my other go to dish. We were very pleased with both! I tried my boyfriend's fried rice and it wasn't the best I've ever had, but wasn't bad. Spring roll was a little greasy and too much black pepper, and hot and sour soup also not the best, but fair. The entrees though, were delicious and that's the bulk of the meal so I'd definitely go back. As described in other reviews that I read before going, there was only one other family in the restaurant...which was a grandmother and it was Sunday, if you read the other reviews this should amuse you too. We ordered from Hungry Ducks last night at 7:16. We didn't get our food until 8:40 and we don't live all that far away. Aside from that, here's what we ordered: an appetizer plate, General Tao's chicken, broccoli chicken, Mother's chicken and a large soft drink. Well, the drink was $2 and more like a medium sized drink. The appetizer plate came with about 6 crab puffs which had no noticeable crab (it tasted like straight up cream cheese). There were 5 over-cooked slices of pork. There were four fried shrimp and an average sized egg roll. That alone was $9.50 and it was worth maybe $5 in comparison to the same kind of combination item you get from other places in the area. The broccoli chicken was okay, just kind of average. My only real complaint was the fact that there was barely any chicken or sauce, it was mostly broccoli. The General and Mother's chicken was good, but it was too spicy for my husband. My biggest complaint, however, was the fact that there was not really enough rice (has anyone said that before?). I feel like it wasn't really worth the $42 I spent on it for the quantity and quality of the food we got when we could have gone to another place and gotten twice the amount for about $10 less. read more

Hi. So, last night I ordered some food from Szechuan Chinese. After about a half hour, I got a text, email and then phone call all saying that the retaraunt could not be reached and I can either wait or cancel. So I figure I'll just go somewhere else. Well, by that time anything else in the price range was closed, so I called the place myself to see if they would answer after about another 20 minutes of looking for other food. They did, after a couple of rings. So I went on to the online chat and asked to go through with the order after all, they answered their phone, and food was here in about 30-40 minutes. When it got here they were parked a little over 2 blocks from my house and stood next to car and held up the food making me walk the whole way barefoot over train tracks to get the food. Once inside, I opened the food and it smelled alright, looked OK too. I dug in because I was famished and to mine and my wife's suprise, the food was awful. Truely the worst Asian foods I've ever had. The rice was like some over cooked heavily soy sauced college kid attempt at fried rice. The chicken was chewy. The BBQ pork was so dry I almost choked trying to chew and swallow it. It was a disgrace. Even after all that. Being starving and waiting and finally getting food, we only ate about a quarter of it.
