I have been to the Salem, NH location on 4 occurrences and always have needed a bucket of water to quench my thirst afterwards. Cheep food requires lots of salt to make it taste better. Tonight (Fathers Day) my Chicken Marsala which the manager had them redo it but it was marginal. My mother had a crispy chicken salad that came out 20 minutes later because they dropped the first one on the floor in the kitchen. They should have left it there. It was a "Sign." My daughter is a carnivore and she barely ate her burger because she said that it was drying out her mouth. She had already finished her drink after a few bites of the burger. I tried it and it tasted as if they had dumped a box of Morton's salt into the burger mix when prepping for the night. We ended up in McDonald's to get her a McDouble and fries for the ride home. Pretty upset. My husband, toddler and I came in a couple weeks ago. First, they never brought my husbands drink. We had to remind the server. Then, they never brought our nachos - but offered to "let us take it home and it'll be one the house" because at that point our meals were arriving. THEN my husbands steak came out raw. I'll say, the customer service was on point because the manager actually treated us with kindness and respect and offered all he could with what he was able to - to make our experience right! He offered us a gift card and when he walked away.. I said to my husband "I've never seen a manager that cares as much as him!" Well, I think we left our gift card on the table at the restaurant. I remember that night leaving my daughters toy and wipes behind and my husband needing to go back and get it. So it's likely we left it behind- because we can't find it anywhere. I said to my hubby, why don't you give them a call and see if he'll remember us. He did- and we were told "there's nothing we can do if you don't have the card". read more

My mother and I went to T-BONES for dinner the other night. We were so excited to be dining out for the first time in a long time. The outdoor setup was perfect, we were socially distant from everyone else and got to enjoy the sunshine. Our waitress Shannon was amazing! She was so lovely and attentive. We both ordered steak salads and honestly they were so delicious. We had a great experience and commend T-BONES for all their hard-work in making dining safe and enjoyable in this new normal. T-Bones is basically a better version of a 99 or TGIFs, closer to a Bugaboo, but still better. The food is pretty good, fresh, well cooked. The service is really, really, really great. They have a totally "customer is always right" attitude. The crowd can be a bit beer-swilling and you can expect LOTS of screaming kids. I have to admit that I love their Country Fried Chicken and their tomato-basil salad dressing. But, their appetizers are not all that great. This place gets extra stars for accommodating food allergies. Had a member of our party with soy, shellfish, milk, peanuts allergies. They were easily able to adapt for this without complaint. The staff was just so nice about everything- no eye-rolling with food allergies. On a Saturday night you'll find this location super packed (and they do not take call heads). Now you would think that the place was packed for the food.... food was eh- okay- typical bar food you'd find at applebees, chili's, etc. Lettuce wraps were good enough, steak tips were cooked as specified and were okay--- but the salt--- ugh- like other reviews said I was so thirsty afterwards- even without partaking in their free bar popcorn. I USED to love T-Bones but no more. As a frequent business traveler, I visit restaurants across the country and am completely perplexed by my experience at T-Bones Salem, NH location. My salad was less than fresh and my French Onion soup was unusually cold. I politely asked my waitress for another, not expecting controversy, when a Manager Dennis came over and seemed like I insulted him personally when I told him there was no problem, that my soup was cold. I wasn't rude, didn't carry on about it, I literally just asked for it to be heated up, he walked away briskly saying an expletive under his breath. Needless to say, I won't be back. read more

It's tough to rate this. The server Alexa was great. She was attentive and welcoming. So we started with a salad and wings. Salad was special with just lettuce tomatoes and cucumbers. Came out right. (U be surprised how many restaurants get it wrong) the wings were crispy and delicious. I ordered their T- Bone steak. (Why not I always get steak and that's the name lol) my child got a grilled cheese fries and carrots. The food took a little long to come out for a restaurant not busy. My child grilled cheese was a burnt mess. Her fries were oddly cold. My steak was suppose to be medium.... it was rare. Part were medium to medium rare. But for the most part it was Rare. The I got a cheeseburger for my child to replace the grilled cheese and when it came back out. So much cheese with a little burger on a burnt bun lol pretty comical at this point. The manager asked about my steak and I showed her and asked "how's this cooked" she said rare. I said I agree but I wanted medium. She was nice and took off the steak. But I mean of course your going to take it off I'm leaving and the steak isn't how I asked for it. The atmosphere was great, the sever was great and even the manager was good. But overall it wasn't good and since so many places offer steak you have to really hone the craft. That was delivered this instance. I have been going to T-Bones in Salem since the day it opened in1984. My first impression was "Wow! This salad dressing is awesome!" (It was their house ranch dressing). The steak was prepared perfectly, and they had a good selection of draft beers. Since the menu had a lot of sandwiches on it, my wife and I came back for lunch soon afterward, and we both fell in love with their CBC sandwich. This is their twenty-fifth year, and the place is twice as big as it was back then. The food is still pretty good, and there are always daily specials for lunch and dinner. They still have some great food here. The CBC is still here, and you can get it in two styles: Classic (on the sandwich menu), or as a "slider" (when you order it with the Simply Choose Two, or during Happy Hour as a special with two sliders). Their MAF burger is awesome (I order it without the peppers, though), and I don't think I've ever had a menu item I didn't enjoy. Nowadays, my wife and I mostly eat in the lounge. There are about six booths in the lounge, two "high top" tables, and a large bar. Note that the bar can get crowded around 6-8pm, so timing is important if you want to eat in the lounge. 5pm seems to be a pretty safe time; you can beat the 6pm rush, and the happy hours menus are still in effect. For years, they have had Paybacks cards--purchase $100 and get $10 coupon. Points accumulate each time you have a meal, and you can redeem your $10 at any time. Bartenders and wait staff are very nice and cheerful and treat you as a "regular" when you visit. My family loves this place, and it's always good for a burger, salad, or sandwich, or even a full meal. The happy hours menu makes us prefer to eat then (wow! Two CBC sliders...!). What are the three best words you might hear from a manager introducing you to a restaurant you haven't been to before? How about "made from scratch"? This restaurant has an on-site bakery snd butchery. Our meal definitely tasted fresh, from the starter bread basket, to the filet mignon, to the carrot cake with cream cheese frosting! Management clearly cares about it's customers (thanks Rhianna!) and our server was super attentive (thanks Kerri!). There are so few restaurants we want to visit more than once - but this is one we already can't wait to revisit! read more

Wow, I never would have expected this kind of food with this place! We went here for lunch and I was anticipating a 99 type of menu with your standard options. Instead I was presented with a huge menu where everything is homemade and delicious and the prices are more than reasonable. I originally thought I was going to be stuck with a salad and fries for lunch, but they even had a vegetarian section on their menu. Crazy! It gets even better, the desserts are made from scratch in their bakery. Our table split a brownie sundae and the Belgian waffle dessert, I don't think we left anything on the plate. Service was outstanding and I was very impressed. This could turn into a very unexpected five star ranking after I check it out a few more times! read more

Nut allergy folks beware! 3 times I have order salad with no nuts. 3 times I get back to office and can't eat my lunch. 3 times I have called or emailed restaurant and been told they'll send a gift card- no that doesn't help me with my hunger now. So give 3 times in 2 years might not be that bad. I try again since I know they can't cook a burger well done, gave up on that long ago.salad today full of almonds again. I finally went to T-Bones last Sunday for lunch. This has been on my list for some time. Ambiance: It was a very nice environment...very family inviting but also a place you could come and order a meal just by yourself or with a pal. The staff were very friendly and our waitress was really attentive...I was impressed... Food: The menu is amazing...all type of things for any mood. I started off with the French Onion Soup... I enjoyed it....a meal in itself...perfect. Next I had a 12 ounce Prime Rib...my friend the same thing...we both agreed...excellent....Also the mashed potatoes were very tasty...very very good. Our waitress recommended the chocolate cake to me...I don't like chocolate cake...never order it but this time I gambled..WOW!!..It was amazing!!...The layers were so good...at first I was going to share it but then I said..naaa....lol! Overall it's a roomy, well lit restaurant with a feel good vibe with awesome food....I also liked how some people felt they could really dress down....There was no pretentiousness here....just getting down to business and eating good food...I will be back! read more

I love this place. I probably go here 3 or 4 times a month. Everything always tastes so fresh, and they have something for everyone. We almost always get the Espinachos (chips with a spinach and cheese dip) It's delicious, and everything tastes good with that dip! Other favorites in our group are the french onion soup and the CBC (chicken, bacon and cheese sandwich) If that's too much for you, they have a "choose two" section on the menu, which offers a cup of french onion soup and a CBC Slider. I also love the homemade potato chips. I've mentioned in reviews of other places that I LOVE homemade chips. The desserts are delicious and are made from scratch in the bakery at the Derry location. I had the Creme de la Creme Coconut pie last time I was there. I loved it! read more

I keep promising myself to catch up on reviews but have so little time these days. T-Bones is a long lost gem that I just have to mention right away since it's a great deal in today's economic times. I had not been to T-Bones for many years. In my younger days it served as a watering hole with great food. My kid also liked it a lot, so I used to frequent T-Bones at least once a month in the mid to late 90's. Stopped by for lunch after leaving the Home Show today and it was great as ever. I enjoyed walking in and finding the same familiar decor-old local signs (Sunbeam Bread, Hoods, etc.) and also that the place is still spiffy clean. For the price point, the food is fantastic. The bread is still served hot and delish, and even up scaled a bit since it's now a hot crusty wheat boule style bread. I had the prime rib meatloaf and it was the perfect comfort food. Served with REAL mashed and awesome butternut squash, the 3 large slices of meatloaf were served with delicious burgundy gravy and mushrooms on the side. I could only finish a third of my meal and took the rest to go. Looking forward to a tasty sandwich for lunch tomorrow. My companion enjoyed his chicken sandwich which was no ordinary chicken sandwich. T-Bones cooks everything fresh, and the chicken was lightly breaded and had cheese under the coating. I had a bite-yummy! He opted for the macaroni salad which was also great. For dessert we split the cobbler sampler and could not eat it all. It was actually like getting 3 desserts as there were 3 crocks of outrageously good blueberry and apple cobbler, served up with high quality vanilla ice cream topped with whipped cream. If we were dining with another couple, all four of us could have shared this dessert. The apple cobbler had just the right amount of oatmeal and sugar topping-not too sweet and the apples were still a little crunchy. The blueberry cobbler had a fantastic little muffin/biscuit type topping which was similar to a good strawberry shortcake biscuit. Flavors were all perfect. We kept eating although we were stuffed because the taste was excellent and finally gave up at 75%. I'm planning to make T-Bones a regular stop at least once or twice a month. The 99 and Chili's close by do not come close in quality and price (quantity too). Check it out and join their club to get special discounts on some menu items. Oh yeah, I like that they support the NH Food Bank- a very worthwhile organization that I have supported in the past. My brother and his wife took me and my partner here for dinner the other night. He's eaten there a whole bunch and chose it based on the factthat they had a little of everything on the menu. I went with the Baked Scallops. For the price, I wish the scallops had been a little bigger, but they were baked nicely, and thesauce used with them was delicious. We decided to go here for a late lunch with some friends on a Sunday afternoon. There was about a 15 minute wait around 1 o'clock, and we got a nice long table for the four of us. By the time we left at around 2:30 there was a 30 minute wait, so I guess the secret got out. They give you complimentary wheat bread that has a dusting of garlic seasoning on top, which we all thought was very good. We decided to get the Appetizer Sampler, and it is huge! It comes with onion rings, queso dip and nachos, chicken tenders with blue cheese and buffalo sauce on the side, fried mozzarella, and bacon "fries", which are ok, but not your typical french fry, more like fried potato slices. For entrees, we got the Unusual Reuben, the MAF burger, the Teriyaki steak tips, and the BLTC. My friend didn't like the homemade potato chips, she said they were a bit salty and tasted "burnt". I thought they could do with a bit less salt, but were good anyway. Everyone loved their dish though, and we all agreed that the food was pretty amazing. All in all, a great place to go and relax and enjoy a good meal, nice portions for a great price. read more

Co-worker and I were recommended to stop in and glad we did. We are from out of town. We Sat down near the bar and was greeted right away by our sever Meaghan with some popcorn. She got us our drinks, got our appetizer in along with some of their amazing bread. Gave us our appetizers and waited to put our food order in to let us enjoy what we had. She was very friendly and attentive. The food was amazing. Sooo good and such a great menu. A lot of variety. Vegetarian, kids and a lighter menu. Prices are ok. T-Bones will do pretty much do anything you want them to do. Want clam chowder without the clams? Sure! Want a sandwich made heart healthy... with extra cheese? No problem! You can even bring in your own recipe and they will prepare it for you. The menu is a never-ending list of options, its one of the few restaurants that we can both agree on going to in the area - there is literally something for everybody. Over the years we have seen the prices slowly start to escalate, which is unfortunate. I do feel that 8$ for one glass of the house wine is too much, especially since it kind of tasted like the 10$ box of wine in my fridge. read more

Ok so we went for outdoor seating. First time in 2months since the quarantine. Called head, they said 7:30. Got there they told us 4 tables ahead of us they will text is. We Watched at least 6 tables get sat in front of us. Went in to check at 8:00, 30 minutes after our scheduled time. They told us 3 party's ahead of us. How does that work? They said well other people came in before you?!?! You told us 4 tables ahead and sat 6 then they're are 3 more still??? Makes absolutely no sense. We left. So disappointing after 2 months of not be able to eat out. We will never go back there! read more

This place often times flies under the radar because there are so many restaurants in the area. I have been here soo many times and have always had a good experience. My favorite meal is the CBC sandwich. The service here is good and the wait staff is very familiar with their menus, which is alway a bonus. What a pleasant surprise -- what was supposed to be a quick pit stop for food turned into a somewhat-pleasant dining experience. Knowing that I had a day of shopping up ahead of me, I refused to step foot into the mall until my boyfriend fed me. I love shopping, but doing it on an empty stomach makes me grouchy and a general b*tch to be around. He suggested this place, and I had never gone, so I said OK. We went in for lunch and it was pretty hoppin' for a Saturday afternoon. We got a booth in the bar area and the server came and got us our drinks pretty quickly. The first thing I noticed is that the menu is HUGE. I had a hard time deciding what to get. After a few minutes, I decided on a light lunch, so went with their $9.99 "pick two" special. I got a French Onion Soup and a Cheeseburger Slider. The soup was very good. The boy told me it was one of the best items on the menu, and I'm glad I listened to him. There was a LOT of cheese on it, and the soup was flavorful and very oniony, which I love. The cheeseburger was a tad overcooked for my liking, but still very good. They put it on a bulkie-looking bun, not your traditional sesame-seed bun, so I thought that was very good as well. The meal also came with their home-made potato chips, which I had never seen before, and they were very good. A *tad* on the greasy side, but they were very crispy and hot, which made up for it. It has been a while since I've been here, but the food is always dependable and delicious, with occasionally inventive specials. Staples like baked stuffed haddock (or scallops), burgers and other sandwiches, steak -- all fine at an OK (maybe slightly high) price. About on par with a Ninety-Nine, but the setting is a little more intimate with above-average customer service. The food quality is perhaps better than at the Nines, though I prefer the Nines' chicken tenders. Each place gives you popcorn. Kind of like the old Ground Round. I really used to like smoking cigarettes at the bar, but those days are over (which is a good thing, actually). About a half-dozen beers on draft (unless that has changed). Nothing exceptional. The Sam seasonal and Boston Lager, Bud, Bud Light and, I think, Natural Light(!). Coors Light, too. That kind of thing. Generally friendly and fun bartenders, especially Erika and Andrew, if they're still there. Other ones, too. Never had a bad time there, but it gets extremely crowded on the weekends. Get there early, like mid-afternoon, if you want a seat. This is a small, regional chain, but it's one of the better ones. The food's not quite as good as some of the other places I've given four stars to, but I have a lot of affection for this place. Maybe I'll return, soon. read more

I've only been here once although I pass it almost everyday. The portions were huge which is always a plus for me. The wait wasn't too long, and the food was pretty scrumptious. The downfalls were the fact that the food took forever to come out and our waitress was a bit overbearing and it felt like we couldn't have peace which at the time that's all we wanted. Let's start off with a nice round loaf of bread - very good. Chicken sandwich and French fries. The fries were between regular and steak fries, but nice and crispy. The chicken and roll were soft and cooked just right. My only complaint would be plain tasting. I omitted the mayo but should have added some flavor, maybe BBQ sauce.
