Walked inside and instantly got the impression it was not a coffee shop but we decided to look at the menu anyways. Lots of customers were slurping in hot soup bowls the size of my head, looked delicious if I was in the mood for Pho or some other type of soup but we just wanted the coffee. The attendant at the front was super helpful and explained the difference between a Vietnamese iced coffee and regular iced coffee to us. I rarely go over to this side of town and didn't know what to expect with parking and a family coffee shop ambiance. My girlfriend suggested stopping after dinner for a dessert drink. We were advised that this is not what one expects in a typical Vietnamese "coffee shop." The host and waiter approached us immediately as we came through the back entrance and let us choose where we would like to be seated. He was pleasant and polite. The ambiance is what one would expect for family-style simple dining. It's a straightforward setup, nothing special. We were looking for a place to sit and catch up. The joint is loud and can be smoky from their sizzling dishes. The menu does have quite a few varieties of choices from rice, noodles, sandwiches, etc. We were here for dessert, drinks, and smoothies. I'm not a huge fan of dessert drinks and only have them occasionally as an afterthought. I tried the straightforward Smashed Avocado Durian. Our dessert drinks came in tall plastic slurry cups. My girlfriends' shakes were ordered with extra whip cream and boba. I am a purist and opted for what I can see and recognize verses "you don't know what's in the powder mix," etc. My dessert drink came with loads of crushed ice sitting at the top of an approximately 24 oz cup. I must say that there were about four tablespoons of fruits, and the rest was all crushed ice. I did not realize how little a portion of my fruits was until after I got home and looked at other photos online. They must have run low on the avocado and durian that evening. It was tough to get to the fruits at the bottom, so I requested another cup to take most of the ice out. The fruit portion is tiny in comparison to the ice. It's just avocado and durian with a slight drizzle of condensed milk on top, which I was expecting, just not so little. Tasted like smashed avocado and durian with a hint of condensed milk. Ha-Ha. I will give this place another try during lunch to sample their Vietnamese coffees, sizzling steak and egg dish, and the banh mi. Too bad they don't have a beer or wine license. I suppose their game is coffee, hence the name. Truthfully should be more than 3.5 stars this time and until our next visit to try the foods. Ample parking areas. I asked one of the servers who was at the cash registry to check if my food was ready. She went in the kitchen but didn't even give me any updates. She proceeded to do other things. So I waited again for another 5 minutes for someone to ask if my food is ready. The person I asked next was clueless. There was a plastic bag of food that had been sitting at the table by the cash register so decided to look at the receipt attached to the bag. Lo and behold it was the food that I ordered. I asked the server why hasn't anyone called me to let me know my food was ready and just let it sitting out here? She didn't give me an answer and I just grabbed the bag and left. My cousin and her bf ordered, hot black coffee, a bagel breakfast sandwich with turkey and a croissant breakfast sandwich. They got their food, they messed up her bf's sandwich. They brought it out on a croissant instead of a bagel, there was a piece of bacon on one half of the sandwich and one slice of turkey on the other half. I understand the store was loud so maybe the waitress misheard, but I think that could've been mitigated if they would write down the order than try to remember the order and send it to the kitchen. They both finished their sandwiches and his hot coffee still hasn't come out. We flagged down a waitress to check on the coffee and she went to get it. She brought out a iced black coffee. We let her know again that this was the wrong order, he asked for a hot black coffee. My cousin and her boyfriend were both pretty disappointed about this place. I had a bite of her sandwich, and they make good breakfast sandwiches though. I haven't had an experience like this at a coffee shop before. It seems like the team could use a refresher course on customer service. On another note, my brother had their avocado and durian dessert and it was great! It was about $6.5. My iced coffee with salted cream was about $5. Prices are what you would expect for a Viet coffee shop, but the service leaves much to be desired. There's a lot of TV's so its a good place to watch sports and hang out. But management should really bring back writing orders down than verbally because that would reduce the amount of mistakes. Parking is super crowded on the weekend because all the Vietnamese men love to come to coffee shops to hang out with their friends here. Be careful when dining in their outdoor patios at night. There were two occasions when homeless intruders got into patio dining areas and made us and others guests uncomfortable. We let the authorities know but their response was as if they don't care. Personally I don't mind helping homeless people but if suddenly some homeless strangers comes to you while you were dining, that is scary as you don't know his intentions and whether is he drunk or addicted. So, if you are thinking of dining at night with your family and kids without any possibility of disruption, I would suggest nearby other good rated Vietnamese restaurants. read more

We all make mistakes under stressful and chaotic situations. I worked at fast food and drive thru before for couple years. (I had my fair share of fails ) But I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. 1. It's holiday (07/04) 2. It's lunch hours (11:00 am) 3. It's a weekend (Sunday) Nothing surprising for busy days and rush hours. - first car of the line: car in front of me waited 3-5 min for someone to come to window after buzzing. He took 10 min to order and go. Not bad. (Though the driver's actions showed some impatience) - next was me: ordered, and waited 15-20 min. 1 basil popcorn chicken. 4 ppl went up to check if I ordered yet, and still waited. Maybe someone new? Computer system slightly glitched? (Overheard some things and observed). - regardless, they got the issue resolved and I got my food (probably sat there for 3-5 min) it's ok. Still warm enough - I didn't mind too much. (at least it was my personal food, and not doing Uber eats/door dash that day) ---------------------------- ANYWAYS..... Im not going to "1-star" this or "poor-rating" for 1-2 time slip-ups. Their attitude was calm and professional. I have been a fan of the other location with the drive thru so thought I would try this place out last friday evening. I wanted to chat with a friend who does not drink coffee and figured this is open late and has a lot of tea options. Was a little confused with the ordering process. They made us select a table at the counter when we ordered but then someone sat at that table. Instead of advising that customer it was our table, they just said they would switch the order to the new table which they did not do. Our items came out separately and both were delivered to this other person and we had to shout at the server that no, those were ours. The first time he said he would make sure the next one came out to us, but same thing happened. I do not recall what this space used to be but it still smells of smoke heavily, possibly they need to repaint or something as it was really unpleasant. I'm so disgusted and disappointed, every time I come here I dine in I never go to the drive thru, today July 31st I decided to go through the drive thru cause I'm feeling under the weather. So I order a smoothie the girl that was making my smoothie she tried the smoothie with a spoon, the spoon she used to tried the smoothie she used that spoon to scoop the smoothie in the cup and she tried giving me the smoothie.
