I'm filing my recent T-mobile experience in my "If It Sounds Too Good to be True" folder. I received a letter from T-Mobile yesterday saying my old Samsung slider phone was going to stop working in January 2022, since it is a CDMA-only phone, is on the Sprint CDMA network and, now that T-Mobile owns Sprint, they are retiring the Sprint CDMA network. The letter said my phone needed to be upgraded or replaced, and, to find out my options, I could call 1-888-211-4727, among other options. Spoke with Beth at that number (she wouldn't give her last name), who looked up my account and told me my options. She was happy to report, she said, that I'd be able to choose a Galaxy A32, Galaxy S21, or iphone 12, get any of those for *free,* *and* be able to keep my current phone plan, which is free monthly but paying for individual calls. She did mention something about "if you add a line," but I figured she considered my transfer of my phone as meeting that condition. since her tone was one of enthusiasm and reassurance rather than cautioning. She added a cursory mention that I'd have to "go into a store and they'll see what you qualify for." This last phrase confused me, since in the same breath she was saying that I *could* get any of those three phones for free yet also implied that her info isn't true. When I mentioned my nearby T-mobile, she suggested I go there (though a "retail store, not "corporate-owned" she said) to see if they'll "process the upgrade" for me, and, if not, resort to then going to the less convenient "corporate-owned" location. Long story short ... or is that too late ... Carlos at the nearby Westview Parkway T-Mobile said my only option is the Samsung Galaxy A32 and, worst of all, I *could not* keep my current plan. Do companies understand that customers would prefer to hear the *truth* when first inquiring about a situation? We don't want to hear what you *think* we want to hear, only to find out later that it's not true. read more

Dalal was very helpful and the rest of the staff. We were called after 30mins, served immediately and finished within 20 mins. Sayed was the first who assisted us last nov 11 together with his manager. Got the phone last week and bought screen protector and placed by Dalal. Checked a few things with the account and was done! Only 3 customers inside and we ate distanced well. They have complete cleaning materials, even gloves! I dont know why bad rating but overall it was fast and on point. Very accommodating. Props to Sonny for the great customer service !! I was in and out of here in 30 minutes ! That's a first for me since I'm so freakin' indecisive ! Today was thee day I had to retire my ghetto BB for an upgrade. I didn't want to change my data plan. FYI: I only pay $39.99/month I'm a simple gal with simple needs. So a simple phone is all I wanted ! The Samsung Smiley :) was calling my name. It's small, compact, cute, and I love the name ! The last time I was here I was told (by a female employee) that an additional $10/month had to be added to my existing data plan due to the upgraded phone and features it contains. Bummer. I didn't need internet. I just wanted it for calls/texts ! You know..the BASICS ! I was in desperate need of a phone and I could no longer rely on my backup BB (It has died on me numerous times). It was time to give it up. RIP. Sonny came to the rescue ! He greeted me as I walked in and was ready to assist me. I explained to him my situation and he did mention an additonal $10/month if I wanted web features and additional internet services. I would then get the phone for only $20 if I signed up for a 2 year contract. I was prepared to do this. ..but WAIT folks.. he gave me another option as well: Data plan of $39.99/month +$10 extra for internet, and most importantly, no contract to sign. yup. No 2-year contract. Did I hear your right Sonny ?? I was never informed of this second option before ?? In order to take advantage of this deal, all I had to do was buy the phone and pay it in 12 month installments of $7.49. Sweet ! I can handle that ! At least now, if ever I decide to change providers and/or upgrade to a fancier phone, I won't have to worry about being tied down to a 2 year contract. I was cool with that ! Total cost with taxes: Just under $20. Score ! Thanks Sonny for saving me $$$ on my plan and stopping me from signing my life away with a contract. You the man ! read more

Excellent customer service. Went in to get a new iPhone X and I was a complete pain in the butt.... I had a million questions, had to hold the phone in my hand I didn't want a phone the size of a iPhone Plus so anyway, it wasn't an easy sell I went back and forth on what I wanted and the poor girl was soooo patient and nice and did all the math on each phone I was looking at. I think it was above and beyond and with no pressure sales. Was a refreshing experience for what is normally a painful experience. read more

Best experience I've had in a Tmobile store. Workers are quick to assist and quick to help. On Friday I called on my break to make sure they can assist me on my lunch to upgrade my phone to the iPhone XR. As long as I know what phone I want and they dont need to transfer my data to the new phone, the rep promised he can get me in and out the door 15-20 min tops. As soon as I got in I was greeted and didnt feel like I was unwanted like how I feel at other Tmobile stores. The rep, unfortunately I forgot his name, was on point when assisting me. His and the rest of the team had a positive attitude which makes the experience even better. He did everything he needed to do on the phone I was trading in and only gave me the phone when I needed to put in my password. (I didnt notice this minor detail of customer service until later that night at another Tmobile store.) This was my second time in this store. The first time was great too. I love to see consistency in a retail store customer service level. And he did get me out of the store in 15min with the new XR. P.S. I was not enrolled in Tmobile's Jump plan without my knowledge like what happened to me TWICE at the Plaza Bonita location. read more

I would give them a ZERO if I could. They had ONE job and it was to add $500 promotion (or apply monthly bill credit) to one of the phones we purchased back in May 2020. I called T-mobile customer service multiple times and finally got so tired of being told different stories so I walked into the store in hope to get everything fixed. Apparently this was a computer error and not human mistake according to Jacob who helped me at the store today after dealing with this nightmare for the last 4 months. Which he assured everything will be fixed within 24 hours. Guess what? After an hour of me waiting around at the store while they "research" and "figuring out", all they did was switch the names on 2 lines and that's it. Which really doesn't make any sense because instead of fixing the problem, now MY line has $500 down payment which I never made (the other person did!) not to mention model of our phones listed is wrong. This is actually my go to TMobile Store for 7 years and I just visited earlier today after not being visible for months or year on this particular store. Majority of their employees are new and the old employees who used to assist me were gone. New staff were not friendly and accommodating though. I worked with both Sandy and Sayed and they are AMAZING! They are kind and they listen to the problem and do everything they can to fix it. Sayed set up my new phone plan with T-Mobil and I was set on having a particular phone and they didn't have it in stock, so the manager left the store and DROVE TO CARMEL MOUNTAIN to go get the one I wanted! Sayed was super funny and relatable and had me and my husband laughing through the whole set up and purchase. He gave me honest recommendations and made sure I left the store with exactly what I wanted. What could have been a stressful set up was actually a lot of fun. ALSO they have plenty of employees working so (unlike Verizon) I had almost no wait to be helped. However when I say that I did show up relatively close to opening time, so I don't know how the wait will be in the middle of the day. Took me 5 hours to get what I wanted done. Bought an iPhone and was there two hours. I get home to realize they ordered the wrong color phone so I called and they cancelled my order and then I had to go back and re-purchase the phone. Took another three hours. Not sure why simple tasks took so long. They couldn't even get my Netflix set up as it was included in the plan I bought. Hopefully the rest of my T-Mobile experience does not reflect what happened today. I don't recommend this location at all. We were the only customers there and still couldn't manage help as efficiently as we would have liked. Certainly a 1-star experience. read more

Great customer service! I was helped first over the phone by a rep named Sayed. I had an issue with the phone and had made many calls that day to try and remedy it. It was a total headache. Once I called T Mobile and Sayed started to help it was the absolute smoothest transition. He was extremely knowledgeable on the process and helped me every step of the way. I had an new phone expedited and sent to that store. When I called to verify it had came in I once again had gotten Sayed and he helped start the process of transferring to make it so quick I could do the whole thing on break and get right back to work. Adam was absolutely awful! I walked in needing some urgent help transferring my phone to my husbands plan and Adam couldn't help me or guide me through the process. We spent 5 hours calling customer support and driving to two T-Mobiles(Westview and Mira Mesa) where no one could help us at all! Adam gave me no direction or help with my situation at all. The service we received from this store is just down right infuriating. I needed my apple watch replaced and T-Mobile said they would cover it for me, so i scheduled to go there and see what they were going to give me in person so I could see what I was getting as a replacement in hand. It turns out they did not have the watch in store. Instead of explaining that to me the worker that was supposed to assist us (Japhario) wanted to play smart and clearly it wasn't working and he got aggravated because he had offered to show me the picture of the watch even thought I could do that myself whenever I wanted. The point was for me to see the watch in person because I am sure everyone knows things aren't what they seem in photos. It took him so long to tell me they did not have the apple watch in store and he practically yelled at me because I told him I was assured to see the apple watch by T-Mobile as they said when they called me. He seemed like a younger person which I understand he is going to think he knows everything. Regardless of his age he has no right to treat his clients as if he is a 12 year old throwing a tantrum. Another worker Anthony came and assisted us in a good manner and answered every question civilly, which was not that hard to do to begin with. I had such a great experience coming into this store. Although it is a T-Mobile store, they were able to help us with our Sprint services. We had the pleasure of working with Spencer and he was extremely professional and helpful. The store followed all protocols to ensure proper social distancing and sanitation which made us feel comfortable and safe during these times. After dealing with an unpleasant experience at a different location, coming here was the total opposite. I would definitely recommend coming into this location for any of your needs. Be sure to ask for Spencer if he's available, but if not, all of the other associates were extremely friendly! read more

I just switched from ATT to T Mobile and got the best service ever by Spencer Fuhring. He helped walked me through all the changes. Spencer was very patient, kind and wonderful. Plus the cost of our cell phone service is significantly lower than with ATT. It took a while for us to switch from ATT but so glad I did. Excellent service with Spencer at the Mira Mesa store plus lower monthly bill and more benefits, including free Netflix. read more

I went back 2 days ago, and Christine gave me a replacement data cord. The dang alarm still wouldn't turn off and I was sorely tempted to chuck it at the sidewalk and be done with it. I'm a Verizon person and considering a switch. I walked in and was met by the awesome Isabel. She answered all my phone and plan questions. We even played out all the scenarios of data use, phone replacement, and taxes on paper to actually see the math so there would be no misunderstandings. She was clear and concise and kept the conversation simple without hiding behind any kind of technobabble. Just make sure you, yourself is knowledgeable so you know what you're asking and be clear about what you want. Considering her customer service and hospitality I'm considering the switch. The manager here is a douche bag. I was switching from AT&T to T-Mobile and was debating on purchasing the i-phone 5 or the Galaxy 4. I had done a bunch reading on the products online, but wanted to see the devices in person before I made a final choice. The iphones were displayed in both black and white and ready for demos. The Galaxy had both a black and white version, but for whatever reason, only the black version was turned on. I asked for help in seeing the white one, and the manager said. "It looks just like the black one, only white." If I am going to spend $400-$600 on a device, I want to see the fucking thing work first. I unplugged the power cord on the black one and plugged it into the white one which was missing a power cord. It fired up pretty quickly, but was stuck in the default Korean language mode. When I asked him how to change the settings from Korean to English and how to turn up the contrast because it was too dark, he rolled his eyes unplugged the device and said that it was in power save mode because it hadn't been plugged in and that he couldn't change the contrast. I ended up leaving and refusing to buy the phone. Congrats on losing a $600 sale T-Mobile! read more

Came here with some questions, and Victor helped us out a bunch. He really simplified things that we were confused about and straightened things out. Since we've always been android users, we asked him to compare android and iphone, and he used an analogy that iphones are like driving on a freeway, with lanes you just follow. While androids on the other hand, can be both using the freeway and offroading, being more customizable to the user with more choices. Made sense to me! (For people that has used both, is this accurate? Lol) Kristine ended up switching and getting an iPhone 6 for work reasons. Everything went smooth as silk with no hiccups. Great customer service! This location is very spacious, lots of walking room, and nice looking display areas. I would say they aren't busy most of the time, but when it does gets busy, there might be quite a wait, 30 to 45 minutes. But it's great that they're organized and have a waiting list for people coming in. The workers I've encountered are for the most part nice and helpful, but special shoutout to Victor for helping us out today! read more

I don't go in often but when I do the service here is prompt and friendly. The associates are good about getting down to the root of what issues crop up with billing or warranties, and they're able to fix them on the spot. Having come from Verizon and prior to that, AT&T/Cingular/Pac-Tel (now that's old school right there) I have dealt with a gamut of bad customer service and bad billing practices, but with T-Mobile my service has been drama free for the last 6 years. I would've written this ages ago. Sonny was nice whenever he helped me out and I think one of the managers named Alan, but I cannot stand this store for fooling people into contracts. Every review that has claimed this tmobile had "tricked" them in the past into signing a new contract is true. I used to have a family plan with my mom, who doesn't speak a lot of English, wanted to save money on our plan, spoke to someone here, who got her into a new contract! The people working here will take advantage of you if you are not knowledgeable in cell phone contracts and lingo. I sign people up for credit cards everyday at my job. I know exactly how it is, you have to meet a quota or you get in big twubble or there are some bullshit perks for every contract you open. The difference between myself and the sales associates here is that I believe in upholding ~ethical standards~ No, I won't go out of my way to convince that older woman who speaks very little English into a credit card if it won't benefit her situation! In conclusion, tmobile is the lowest of all the tiers in the wireless carrier game. Their customer service wasn't too bad, hell, I'd say it was genuine. But the mischeif and trickery you fear from a cell phone salesman can definitely be found walking into this horror movie. P.s. if you're looking to switch, verizon is a little pricey but they're known for having the best coverage (3G, cuz lets be honest, there are like no 4g towers in San Diego). And they have the phone (iPhone) you want. If you want a cheap monthly rate and a-ok coverage, go to sprint. read more

After being out of the country for 5 years and prior to that a loyal At&T customer, I researched different options with different companies. I already had an unlocked Galaxy Note 3 from abroad and T-Mobile's unlimited everything for $80 appealed to me the most. I was in and out within 30 minutes. Mohammed was the person who helped me (but I got a good vibe from all the employees in the store) and got me set up with everything I needed easily and quickly. Horrible service and besides that they lied about not having the iPhone pro max . Waited there till almost 3 hours and while waiting the other rep told the customer they had quite a few left in the blue color but after checking my account which was on promotion first they said that I can get the phone and the trade in I can mail it by myself which I said no problem . Then she consults with the manager and then they said our system is showing available but it's not . The store was close and I was the second last customer and the rep with other clients clearly said they have a bunch of blue one left and all of a sudden there are none . If this is how they provide service by lies cause maybe it was not profitable cause of promotion from t-mobile they just not wasted my time but left a horrible taste of their bait and switch games . The manager thinks he smart by making stories up but like I said till 5 minutes before they had a bunch left and there were no other customers all the phones got sold . If I was the owner I'd fire the manger instantly cause he lied . I had my brother call right after and I confirmed with t-mobile that they had it in stock . No wonder they are 3.5 stars on yelp . Well, SONNY from TMobile that is... The other week I was just about to smash my phone and say TM bye-bye... Just a series of this and that, u know.... BUT luckily my sister and I visited SD and she suggested popping over to the actual shop and try one last time to get someone from TM to sort things out... SONNY greeted us as we walked through the shop and let me tell you, this guy is brilliant.... Not only he knew about ALL the handsets and gismos, he was also very knowledgeable about the services, the procedures, EVERYTHING. SONNY took on himself dealing with me and my sister and he sorted me out with a Windows 7 mobile with a new plan too, which ended up saving me a bunch of money per month. SONNY provided an amazing professional, personal, funny, attentive service.. We were there for about 2 hours and he managed to help out his colleagues and other customers too... I was just really impressed how he knew exactly what would work for me, what is the plan to go for and he made sure that I understand everything.... 100% useless sales rep. Literally, completely useless. The rep's expression and tone never changed during the entire conversation from a look of complete disinterest and boredom. Went in for help with my phone which wasn't working right. Made me wait to tell me they can do a factory reset, which I already tried. No problem. The problem was the rep. No symapthy, no engagement with me, no suggestions to help. He couldn't even make a recommendation on a good replacement phone. He said to "make a list of phones and research them on the web." I would've given this place 5 stars 3 weeks ago. Until I was reached by Tmoble customer service to go over my bill and see if everything was correct. They straight up LIED! Specifically Yashar Khaligh. They had a sign outside advertising a free iphone xr with trade in a switching to Tmobile. I was looking to lower my cell phone bill and wanted to switch from Verizon. Yashar was a great guy, super helpful and answering all my questions. Told me my bill would be about $107 after all said and done. Everything went smoothly, except it didn't. Found out from Tmobile rep that the deal they advertised was over 6 days before I did the transaction. My bill is instead $135, with other things I wasn't even aware of added to my bill. I'm so pissed off with this guy for having me believe everything was fine, and the company for having an advertisement that had expired. These peoples are crooks, esp Yashar Khaligh! And if you do go here, double check everything before you walk out! read more
