Went here for dinner. I was pleasntly surprised. Although I drove and couldnt drink I was amazed by the extensive wine selection. The wait staff was a little slow but our server did refill drinks and brought extra bread. He was friendly and nice. Our bill for 2 adults, 1 teenager and 2 children with 4 softdrinks and a water was 73 dollars befor tip. We had 2 salads one with chicken and one without, 2 kids fettichini meals ans an adult fettichini. We also had an appetizer of calamari. My family and I have eaten here many times in the past so last night my wife and I ordered two snapper almondine to eat so fast forward to today I call the manager to tell her that my wife and I got food poisoning off the snapper we ate last night and the manager at Tabella said there is no way, I just called to tell her she might want to check on the snapper as there was something wrong with it and the whole back side of my snapper was Brown isn't fish suppose to be white ? Well I wasn't calling to ask for anything in return like a refund or anything like that but she was so rude on the phone telling me I didn't have food poisoning and she sure wasn't with me last night having thrown up 17 times and my wife throwing up as well it is pretty evident it was food poisoning, it is kind of funny all the other times we have eaten there we never had a problem. I am not normally one to write a review but I can tell you that my family will never go back there again. read more

We are former residents of Hattiesburg and frequented this establishment. I quit using my grill because I couldn't get my chicken to taste as good as theirs. I would get the Fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken and my wife the salad with grilled chicken. This was our favorite place in Hattiesburg. We went by recently. Traveling through, we couldn't pass by without getting our fix. Sure enough, still had the same quality we raved about to our friends now. The owner even remembered us. After letting hostess know my daughter had nut allergy- manager came to table to make sure we knew what was safe for her to eat. Staff was friendly and upbeat. Pep and sausage pizza was excellent- thin crust so good. Anti pasta salad was so delicious, fresh and large portioned. Used to be my go-to place in Hattiesburg for business lunches and family dinners when in Hattiesburg. Last night was thoroughly disappointed. Food was mundane and when time to pay was told their internet was down and they were manually processing cards. Apparently the management is so incompetent rather than use an app to process cards they were calling the number on the back of the cards to see if they were valid. I guess they think customers enjoy an after dinner activity of talking to Visa fraud prevention. read more

Stopped in for lunch. Plenty of seats available. Out of the special triple tail. Had the salmon BLT and tomato soup. The soup had a great down home taste. The salmon BLT was good. Little greasy but I really enjoyed it. read more

they have no option at all for reservations, in fact refuses to take them. No option for large parties, they tried to sit our party in three different places. Staff was excellent, but my husband ordered the six cheese ravioli with Alfredo sauce. It was good, but only six flat raviolis for $11. Not even a salad with it. One of my favorite places in Hattiesburg! First of all They have the absolute cleanest bathrooms in probably the whole state! Every single time I have been they have been spotless and smells very clean. The restaurant is always clean and the atmosphere is wonderful. My favorite appetizer is the fried mozzarella. The salmon is amazing, the roasted potatoes are delicious, the vodka sauce is wonderful but my all time go to favorite is the chicken Parmesan with the spaghetti marinara. The marinara sauce is so tasty! I also enjoy the occasional calzone. Then bread they give you is ok, it's not my favorite but I do eat it but it's just personal preference it's good for what it is- The staff is normally all friendly and attentive. I have a few I favor over others but they are all good. The lady manager is lovely also. I have only encountered one problem with my food before which was very quickly corrected. My husband and I have been to Tabella about a dozen times since their opening. Everything I have ordered has been so good! True Italian cooking. My suggestion for folks is to not be afraid and order the specials! You can't beat their dessert either. Relaxed atmosphere. More recently we have been going about once a month. We can't go any longer than that without a Butcher's Pasta or the Steak Toretta. I always sub my green beans for broccoli. Well worth the extra $2!! read more

We have been in about 5-6 times. The menu has plenty of tomato based items but no lighter sauces. I even asked the circulating management if there was something they could come up with that wasnt so heavy. The Tuna/Calamari Special of last week left me gun shy, I actually got a little sick. The last 2 times we have been we have gotten sick from something. We had chicken dishes both times. We have had to send chicken back for being raw. Their Gluten Free menu is NOT for Celiacs. The decor is interesting but the setup is odd. The wait staff look neat but are not efficient. I think we are done with Tabella until they change the menu and improve some things. read more

The service was fine. The food however was bland. We ordered the calamari which was cooked ok but had no real flavor. I ordered the chicken Parm. the chicken was stringy and again no real flavor. The bread they brought to the table was soggy and cold. My husband ordered the spaghetti and meat balls. The marinara sauce was watery, the meat balls were cold on the inside, and he said the stuff I make at home tastes way better. I can honestly say that after reading some of the reviews on the quality I was super excited to try Tabella's. I was seriously disappointed. Will not be going back to eat here. read more

The bad part was dessert, ordered the crepes and they were obviously microwaved as the filing was eve's hot and bubbling out. So sad, IHOP does better crepes. Sent them back. One of my favorite places in Hattiesburg for a nice fancy feeling evening meal without the high price. They also do offer a good lunch. All the food I have tried has been good and their bread is exceptional. I have never tried any of their drinks, but they do have a full bar and rather large selection of wines. Husband and I feel like this place was trying too hard to be a fancy Italian restaurant but couldn't quite live up to it. The food was ok. It wasn't hot long which leads me to believe it was heated up and pre-made. The green beans were canned and had been tossed with oil and some onion, definitely not fresh green beans. The diced potatoes were a little spongy, definitely pre-made. My chicken was a little hard, though the cappers were good. Was kind of expecting more lemon flavor. As for the 6 cheese ravioli... it literally was 6 (count) cheese raviolis. Not sure how good it was since I had my kids split them thinking having ordered the adult plate verse the children's meals they would have more to share. Though I did use their remaining sauce to spruce up my diced sponge potatoes. Hubby had a calzone, said it filled him up but it was a little salty. He's not very picky so a complaint is definitely something. In the end our restaurant experience wasn't worth the $50 for 3 quasi decent meals. Defiantly wouldn't go back if we lived in the area. We have been to Tabella's several times since they opened. We spend between $40-$80 each time we go. The food is good, but the last 2 times we went the service was extremely slow. Last time they were only moderately busy, but the time that we requested something including to-go boxes took entirely too long. We gave it another try today. We were the only couple in there with the exception of one other customer. Once again we had to wait entirely too long for our food and dessert. After telling the server I would like my dessert "in a minute", and not receiving it in 15 minutes, I told our wait person, Stacy, and she said she would put in the order. Was the order not in already? How long does it take to cut a piece of cake? There were 3 male employees sitting at the bar watching football for the entire hour that we spent there. One had long brown hair, one had his head shaved, and I think the other one had brown hair. I think that at least 2 of them are in managerial positions. After they watched football, they went outside to play Frisbee in the parking lot. Very, very unprofessional. We will no longer dine at Tabella's because of the poor service, and I will no longer spend money at an establishment helping to pay the salaries of 3 employees who do absolutely nothing !!!!!!!!! read more

Never even got to eat. They advertise about how they can sit large parties...well, on a Tues night we had 11 and they couldn't even put us all together. Didn't ask us if we would be ok with 1/2 sitting at a booth and 1/2 at a table right across from each other, they just walked us to the table and booth and was like "here ya go". Very disappointed in the attitude of they hostess (they was a guy and a girl). They could see we were not happy after sitting down. The girl just looked at us. Then the guy comes over trying to see what the prob was and was rude. Basically he didn't care if we wanted to wait for a larger table to open so we could all sit together or if we left. So with his crappy attitude, we left and went to Olive Garden and was seated immediately. Regardless that ppl say the food is great, if the staff is rude then I don't care about eating there. Yall lost my business. Giving you 1 star was not what I wanted to do. I wanted to give you ZERO stars. read more

Nice atmosphere, but too few tables. The wait staff was good, but I have been there twice now & the food is very disappointing. I always judge an Italian restaurant first by their veal dishes. I ordered the veal Marsala & it was very bland. There was hardly any sauce on it . They did bring out additional sauce but, it was to no avail because it was so bland that you could not even taste the Marsala in it. On the second trip, i tried the shrimp canneloni. Never in my life have I tasted canneloni prepared that way. On both trys, no one at our table enjoyed their dinner. We prefer to frequent local restaurants vs chains, but this is not good Italian food. Just like the Crescent City tries to pass itself off as having New Orleans /Cajun style food. That's a joke!! We are from New Orleans & trust me, what they are selling for Etoufee isn't even close. Being located so close to New Orleans, you would think St. John would know better. He would do better to just buy a John Folse cookbook & use the recipes in there. He can't cook Cajun & he can't cook Italian either. read more

We waited 45 minutes for our food and only saw our waiter three times during this time. I asked to speak to a manager and was told he would check on it. It was amazing that we got our food right away after that. After 15 minutes, our waiter returned and we finally got refills. I told the waiter about talking with the manager bc we understand it wasn't his fault and he replied "hey it happens ". The manager came over and asked how it was and I said it was ok besides taking so long. He said yeah and walked away. We paid for our meal and left the waiter a tip before expressing concern about the customer service to the waiter and manager. We were told by the manager that he was doing something for our table, until we said something to his waiter???? That's interesting in being that we were leaving and it was paid for. The manager then told me "sometimes this happens. ". He is right, it does happen sometimes, but usually the manager or waiter is apologetics for the delay or something. Poor, poor customer service.
