I've been there twice since it opened and my husband and I enjoyed our meals both times. Of course, he had the roast beef which was delicious, just like Alton's! I had an excellent trout special, as well. I've always appreciated the kid friendly atmosphere and high quality kids meals at Alton's and Table 31 doesn't disappoint. Any adult would love the kids Mac & Cheese and my daughter finished her steak. We will certainly be back many times. read more

Food was mediocre. The pork chop itself was excellent but it was killed by way to potent mustard sauce. We had the scallop dish as well. Except one of the scallops wasn't clean well it there was something hard and crunchy almost like a shell. That put a damper on that. Wasn't too crowded and wait staff was not attentive. Just had a wonderful meal at Table 31. The tomato burrata as appetizer was great, but exceeded by the grilled artichokes which were out of this world. I had the scallops which were beyond wonderful and my companion had the ribs and fries which were equally delicious. Topping off the meal was the delicious homemade Oreo sandwich dessert. 2nd Visit: This time we were a group of 7 meeting up for a 5pm Saturday dinner. No reservations taken and restaurant didn't know we were coming. While waiting outside for the last of us to arrive, the manager came out and welcomed us. She said we would have one of the two tables that seat 8 and she was ready whenever we were. Her friendly attitude was very much appreciated. Wait staff was absolutely top notch. Most of my group ordered drinks - I think it was called the Ramona and was poured from a can. Whatever it was, they thought it delightful. Everyone really, really liked their food. A few who ordered entrees asked if they could have a house side salad instead of the grilled asparagus. Yes, certainly! Well, the side salads were huge and gorgeous. Our group ordered the scallops, salmon, burger, brussell sprouts salad w/chicken and one with tenderloin. We cleaned our plates! Really delicious. And btw, prices are good. Side note: This time around there was no line to get in. I left close to 6:30pm and the place was not crowded at all. Before leaving, I walked around to check the set up. A waitress told me they have 2 tables for 8 and when I asked how they would seat a party of 6, she told me at one of the smaller round tables (which were really an inch larger than 4-tops) or maybe one of the 8-tops but that was like an afterthought. Apparently, no pushing tables together so if you have a large party better call first to see how they would arrange the seating. read more

My husband and I ventured here one afternoon two weeks ago for lunch. Service was top-notch and the food was good. Our waitress that day encouraged us to come back for dinner and bring the kids because kids eat free. After checking out their website, it did state under specials "Daily 4 to 6, Kids eat free" the fine print states "One free kid's meal with purchase of adult entree" So we came in with the kids. I ordered The Bedford Scallops-pan seared, lemon butter and arugula, cheddar cheese grits. The scallops were okay. The grits were dry and a bit too salty. My husband ordered The Hawaiian-marinated rib-eye steak, topped with a sesame butter, with french fries. His fries were great but the steak was drenched in a teriyaki sauce which didn't work well with the butter. The kids ordered off the kids menu: cheese burger with fries and the grilled cheese with fries. They both enjoyed their meals. I was disappointed when the check arrived and saw that we were charged for the kid's meals and the kid's drinks. When I mentioned the error to the waitress, she took the check back and said she needed the manager to adjust it. When she came back with the check, one of the kid's meals was removed but the kid's drinks and the other meal remained. I didn't feel like going back and forth with her so we just paid. From what I recall from the kid's menu the kid's meals include a tea or a fountain drink. The aloofness of the waitress coupled with the discrepancies in bill is enough to keep me from coming back for food that was just okay. read more

Just left 31, I have been going there since it opened and this time the service and attitude was terrible, especially the bartender named Brie, I paid for my dinner and left before it came. Discussed with the manager to no avail. The only thing I like there is the prime rib sandwich. Other selections in the past have been so so, will not grace the threshold again. Only hope that they will bring another restaurant that cares more about customer service than the staff they have on Sunday, McDonalds employees are more courteous and pleasant than the Sunday crew, disgusting. read more

Came in tonight without a reservation with my parents, Stacy the manager was so accommodating to find us a table even when it started raining, she honestly was so sweet and the best! That aside the food was absolutely delicious I had 3 starters and I highly recommend the tuna poke and my father had the bbq shrimp dish I forget the actual name but he just About licked the bowl clean. The head chef came out to speak to us and I haven't felt that welcomed in a restaurant in a very long time, phenomenal staff and even better food. I highly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be back!!! read more

Just expected better. Maybe my expectations were too high. Had the salmon and spinach(so salty that it was inedible) and I've also had salmon and grilled asparagus off a hot bar at Harris Teeter. The harris Teeter was better and it's $10 vs. $24. Heard great things but i was very disappointed. Cocktails were very good though. read more

This is my new favorite at the lake. Good menu and great service. Emily is the best! The French dip is the best I have ever had! I have been here 8 times since it opened ( less than two miles from home!). Everything I have had has been excellent. Try the Oreo Ice Cream Sandwich for dessert. We just went to Table 31 a couple of weeks ago for the first time. It was my birthday and I was looking forward to a good cocktail to start off the meal. Unfortunately I have to say the bartenders need some basic training. I ordered a French 75 and it was served warm, which was gross and had a bunch of floating lemon seeds in it. It was all wrong and way too sweet. My other friend ordered an aperol spritz and the first one tasted like a beer so she asked if they could remake it and she had black floating specks in it. The second aperol spritz was a totally different color and taste, but still hade some black things in the drink. We noticed one of our other friends soda smelled funky. I think they have an issue with their ice maker and it's moldy or something and it's leaving the black floating pieces in the drinks. At any rate, for a restaurant of the caliber of this place they need to fix their bar skills. On a positive note the interior is really nice and spacious. Our meals were delish and had great flavor. Our server was really good about checking on us for anything we needed. I won't recommend the bar for drinks, but the food was great. Hopefully they get their bartenders some training and fix the ice machine. I'll try this place again and see how if the bar gets any better. Cheers! read more

We ate again tonight at Table 31. They make an outrageously delicious Tito's martini. Our meal was good, but not great. We had to ask for our water to be refilled twice and we were again impressed that most of the waitstaff seems very inexperienced. We WILL be back! My sister and I meet almost every Thursday for a sister's lunch. We go to different (new to us) places each week, and we decided on Table 31. SO glad we did! Mike was our server and he was AWESOME! Perfectly attentive, and so nice! We both started with the Hill Country Frito Pie, which is their aware-winning chili (that was great and had short-rib in it!) on top of fritos, with sour cream and jalapenos. Very good. I had a Traditional Salad (chopped egg, smokehouse bacon, heirloom tomatoes, rustic croutons) with their herb buttermilk dressing. Again, very good. Then we both got the Famous French Dip. Mike asked us both if medium rare was ok, as that is how it comes. We both said no problem. When it came, it was a liiittle too underdone for us (Mike warned us! LOL), but we both ate have the sandwich, and we also both warmed up the leftovers in the oven later that night and it browned up to our liking and was WONDERFUL. Great au jus and literally THEE BEST mashed potatoes we've ever had anywhere. We want to come back to try the Tres Leches! My sister called the restaurant and spoke to the manager last night to tell her what a great experience we had. The inside of the restaurant was clean, beautiful, the wait staff was awesome, the food was unforgettable. We will definitely be back! read more

Typically go to Table 31 after work for a good dinner with some work colleagues. No matter what you order, the food will be very good. One of the best French Dip sandwiches in the Charlotte area - I highly recommend ordering this and any of the tasty apps. read more

An average menu. A place to try once. Not a place to go back to unless you love grilled artichokes like I do. My crab cakes smelled and tasted very fishy. I tried to eat and just could not. Our waiter, Mike, was extremely attentive and professional. A woman, I'm guessing the Manager was perfunctory at best when she came over to check in and she was sure to let me know they were freshly made today. In other words a bit defensive. I have eaten crab cakes and made them hundreds of times, never smelled and tasted fishy like this. I really did not want to say anything since I rarely ever do, however, it was a bit obvious that I could not get past the first few bites. I had my first dinner here after only going for drinks. We all had the wedge with steak 3 guests. All three of us loved it. Steak was perfect. The entree and drinks were definitely 4 Stars. My one issue was the appetizer. The quac was delish. But the salsa was not homemade. The chips were also not impressive. We got the bottom of a the bag and had to ask for more. We stopped in on a Saturday night and were able to get right in at a table in the bar. Service was excellent and attentive. I had the Brussels Sprout salad with salmon and my husband had the fish special with roasted red peppers. All items were well prepared and the server offered options for customizing the dishes. We also had the "stinking rose" appetizer which is roasted garlic served with ciabatta bread. I would have liked the bread a little more toasted and less oil but my husband loved it. It was his favorite. I would have liked more than 2 dessert selections (how about a basic chocolate or carrot cake). Overall, we were very pleased and will go back. Well ran restaurant. read more

We were visiting from Washington D.C. and chose Table 31 on the strength of Yelp reviews. We were not disappointed. The atmosphere here reminds one of an upscale Washington bistro for young Capitol Hill folks. Casual, not too noisy, but elegant. The food served here is, frankly, world class. We enjoyed the calamari appetizer (light, not over-breaded, with an amazing spicy sauce), the yellowfin tuna, beautifully cooked and delicious, and a huge prime rib special, with both jus for dipping and horseradish sauce, served with mashed potatoes - creamy, garlicky, better than any I have ever tasted in France or the U.S. (My wife is French and we spend a lot of time there.) Another appetizer - the grilled artichoke with remoulade sauce - is another item unlike anything I have eaten - absolutely delicious. (Our server, Jean, made sure that we understood that we would have to eat the leaves individually - yes, we knew that.) Portions are huge. Service was just fine. I think Table 31 should be categorized more as a $$$ place than $$, but it was absolutely worth it. However, we ran into one problem. We didn't have a reservation here but showed up before 6 PM and gladly sat at a high-top table in the bar area. There must have been people waiting for tables because, about halfway through our dinner, the management started to push us out the door. Jean came by and asked us if we wanted dessert (we were still in the middle of entrees) and she actually put our bill on the table while I still had a healthy piece of prime rib to get through. We asked if espresso was available after dinner and she said, simply, "No, just coffee." So, we ended up skeddadling out of there posthaste. I don't know if it was Jean or her boss who was impatient. For a total bill of $142 (including drinks and tip) for three people, I don't think such a rush was appropriate, and frankly, it put a crimp in our enjoyment of dinner. Now, I have been in a high-end restaurant in Washington where the server asked up to finish up and liberate the table. But the management also offered to comp our wine and offered us drinks at the bar afterwards (which we declined). I get that. We may visit Table 31 again - our daughter goes to college nearby - but next time I will certainly throw the bill back in the face of our server if it comes too soon. read more
