    Lobster bisque
    Lauren S.

This might have been the best meal we had on our trip to Maine! A lot of restaurants weren't open yet but we came across this one. We were originally only going to order some small plates , but the one entree with fried chicken looked like something my husband would really like. Cocktails were great. Our server Eli was very friendly and helpful , he answered my questions. The lobster bisque was delicious, and I liked that it had a tempura lobster garnish and the caviar in it was a nice touch too. The tempura wasn't as crispy as I would have liked it , I think only the end part was, but still very good soup. We also got some oysters which were great with the sauces on the side. I ended up getting the halibut, which I never get at a restaurant- but it was so good! With the wakame butter, bok choy, pork belly, and sticky rice. All the flavors worked so well together! Husband got the Cantonese chicken- which was delicious as well. Very crispy, flavorful. We were so stuffed afterwards otherwise we would have got dessert. We ended up taking some Togo even though we had to drive for hours the next day. We put it in a cooler and ate some for lunch cold and it was still good. We had a great meal- i definitely recommended it.

We liked it here so much we came back a second night. This place is a step above anything else in town. Super thoughtful dishes, well balanced flavors and a varied menu. The service was well trained but not stuffy in the slightest. Over our two nights we tried - The local oysters, beet salad, salmon dish, halibut fish. Second night - Seared albacore, more oysters (on happy hour), grilled cornbread and short rib. Every single dish was good to great! I have to shout o their oysters. I am not an oyster girlie but am now converted. So fresh and briny with perfect cocktail sauce and a scallion mignonette. If you're looking for not another tourist trap, with fresh bs frozen seafood - COME HERE.

Came here for our anniversary last night everything from beginning to end was amazing. The hosts were sweet and welcoming and our service was spot on. Our server Eli was so nice and informative about the menu items. For apps we got the tuna and lobster buns both delicious. Entrees we got the frutti de mare and halibut the fish in both were cooked PERFECTLY. Drinks were great as well as the blueberry mousse cheesecake we took to go.

Good food and service. We sat on the work and it was cute but the inside has a really cool vibe and cutesy decor. Olive oil cake was the star!

We grabbed seats at the bar at Table Salt and had a really good experience overall. The food was excellent the ribeye I ended up with was perfectly cooked. A bit fattier than I usually prefer, but still flavorful and tender. Slightly on the pricey side, but I didn't feel ripped off. Originally, I had my eye on the burger, but was told it was no longer available by the time we ordered, which was a bummer. My wife had the summer salad and enjoyed it. Drinks were well-made (pictured), and the bar staff was fantastic--friendly and attentive. Only major downside? It was hot inside. Like, uncomfortably hot for me and my wife, which never happens. Definitely took away from the overall vibe. That said, I'd still come back just maybe not on such a hot day?

Tidbit! The Anchorage Motel manager warned us with a whisper: "It's where all the tourists go. But…read moreit's good. It's really good." She wasn't lying. It was worth the 45-minute wait. Spend that time wandering Main Street's shops, because the wait was worth the bite. The shrimp and scallop scampi arrived swimming in garlic, butter, and pasta (perfect fuel before a half marathon). My uncle's fish and chips delivered an actual deep-fried slab of fish, somehow golden and perfectly cooked. And then the seafood pie: crispy, flaky, golden on top in a way that looks borderline burnt but is actually just butter and scallops doing what butter and scallops do. This dish was basically chowder, piled high with fish... And some more fish, with a dash of chowder. Even the blueberry beer came through; we got Orono's Wicked Maine Blueberry Ale, packed with actual blueberries floating up and down. Yes, we paid tourist prices, but we got generous, delicious portions and full bellies.

I would definitely recommend the pizza and the fish and chips, those were winners for sure. The lobster roll and the clam chowder were delicious in the mini lobster bake, though the blueberry tart was unfortunately a little burnt.

What an amazing dinner for our first night in Bar Harbor…read more Galyn's offers a charming, intimate ambiance that feels like an upscale yet casual classic steakhouse, complete with beautiful dark wood paneling, local art, and a stunning table view overlooking the green and the water. We loved that they were open late, because we arrived in town a bit on the later side. They have impeccable, professional service--from the fresh-cracked black pepper to the delicious mocktails, bread & butter, shrimp cocktail, fresh lobster roll, and shared Burrata Caprese (perfect since my daughter wasn't too hungry). We topped it all off with a phenomenal Maine Blueberry-Apple Crisp. Between the good pricing, excellent food, and a view that alone was worth the visit, it was a wonderful, memorable meal.

We had a wedge salad to start which was served a bit differently with their house-made vinaigrette. My husband chose the lobster enchiladas with rice and veggies and a cilantro cream sauce. These were VERY good and I was jealous. I loved them. I chose the fish of the day which was haddock with rice and veggies and a pesto sauce that was SO good! Very fresh and filling. Large filet of fish on this plate. For dessert, I wanted to try the Indian Pudding a la mode and our server informed me that it was very rich and was somewhat like pumpkin pie, ginger cookies and bread pudding. It was something different, but VERY potent and a bit much for us. We swapped it out for the blueberry apple crumble and were much happier with that. All in all, a wonderful dinner on a rainy night for my birthday. We'd happily come back to this spot for a date night while in town.

I will say that everything we got felt like it tasted good, but also very "standard" in a way? While nothing super stood out to me as great, it was a really solid taste of some of the Maine vacation musts - clam chowder, lobster roll, blueberry pie!

1¼ lb Twin Lobsters: This was everything I was hoping for in a classic Maine lobster meal. The…read morelobsters were incredibly fresh, with soft, buttery meat that practically melted in every bite. Paired with sweet corn on the cob, it was the perfect combination. Sitting outside overlooking the ocean beside the Harborside Marina made the experience even better--the coastal views, salty breeze, and fresh seafood created the quintessential Bar Harbor dining experience. Coastal Dip (not pictured): A warm, creamy seafood dip loaded with lobster, shrimp, and other seafood, served with crispy tortilla chips. It's rich, flavorful, and perfect for sharing before your main course. Oysters: These were a bit disappointing. About half tasted fresh and briny, while the others didn't seem as fresh, making for a mixed experience overall. Looking back, I probably would've skipped the oysters and ordered another lobster dish or their famous lobster roll instead. Blueberry Pie: For $14, this wasn't my favorite. The blueberry filling was a little too sweet for my taste. The buttery crust paired nicely with the scoop of vanilla ice cream, but I don't think it justified the price. I'd save room for something else next time. Cocktails: They have several refreshing cocktail options, but my favorite was definitely the Country Thyme Lemonade. It had a sweet, refreshing lemonade flavor with tequila and other ingredients blended together, and it was served in a beautiful glass that made it feel extra special. The Blueberry Smash wasn't for me--it had an herbal flavor that reminded me a bit of a cleaning product, so I preferred the lemonade by far. Overall, if you're looking for fresh Maine lobster with beautiful waterfront views in Bar Harbor, this is a great place to stop. The lobster is the star of the meal, so I'd stick with the classics and enjoy the scenery. In terms of service, our server was very nice and helpful. I'd be careful though because they aren't organized about their servers - they have one named Mario who came up to our table and started flirting w the girl and it was unacceptable while the family was in the bathroom so I'd say watch out for that.
