I recently had to visit Alexandria VA for a funeral for a family member. If you like stories about integrity and support businesses that have good integrity you will appreciate this story. As me and my family waited for our food I quickly started to realize that water that was dripping from the bottom of the coffee cup was discoloring my suit pants. Apparently they removed the coffee cups before the rinse cycle had ended and there was still bleach on the coffee saucer. The manager on duty as well as our waiter for very apologetic and referred me to their manager. I remained in contact with him sending pictures and prices to his direct phone number. Today when I reached out to him I was told they could do nothing for me and my only option was to get a lawyer. I hope if you continue to support this business that you will not receive the same customer service and support that I was subject too. read more

Slightly more expensive than Denny's or IHOP and as good for breakfast. But cheaper than the local old town hotels. Never been here for lunch. It's been around forever and often there is a line out the door. It has nothing special but the wholesome southern cooking I suppose. Still I long for more in such a landmark But if your looking for a meal in Alexandria without spending 12$ for eggs and coffee you can get you fill here for around $7 or 8 as long as your not real picky I got the three egg ham and cheese omelet for $7.65 the ladies got two eggs over easy sausage and home fries which they shared. Coffee was ok. Parking is tightly spaced. The service is slow taking nearly 20 minutes for our order to come out and they were winding down there breakfast crowd The home fries are greasy and the sausage salty and unexceptional. The omelet was meh and not as "fluffy" as advertised or could have been if that's what your promoting I reserve one star for dumps and this place is not that. My father kept on talking about this place for months. Never understood why, I always was stubborn minded and would say Bob & Evans or Silver Dinner rule over. I WAS WRONG. again, They have the BEST home fries, home made. Not chain ran. The French toast is none like any other; it's almost like my mothers. This place is tucked away across the street from Whole Foods . I have seen this place before and wanted to stop by and try it out . We came here early on a Saturday and there was a little bit of a wait to get seated . Not a problem as most breakfast restaurants normally have a wait . Once we were seated our waitress came over and took our order quickly . The food came out a few minutes later and tasted great . She kept our drinks full and checked on us regularly. My only small complaint is my girlfriend wanted her eggs over medium and they came out over easy . All in all a good experience and I will certainly be back . read more

Great breakfast! I had reservations about this little place, but it was the best breakfast I've had in the area yet! Tip: when you walk in, stay behind the people you walked in after, when they are on a wait, they don't take names or anything, they go by the line! I placed an online order for food at 8 am from Table Talk on February 15, 2023. Table talk confirmed that my order #953321633130143 was received, that Grubhub would deliver it to my location within 25-45 minutes, and that they would be in touch if there were any issues. An hour later, my order had yet to arrive, and I called Table Talk, who stated they did not have a demand for me and that I should call Grubhub. I called Grubhub, and they apologized for the inconvenience. The bottom line, I never received my order or any refund. I am very disappointed in the whole experience and will never patronize Table Talk or Grubhub services again. read more

The major reasons to come here are that it is conveniently located (assuming you find Old Town a convenient location) and that it serves grits (which you can and should substitute for your home fries). We walked around the corner and found some yummy fresh food. My husband ordered eggs,bacon,home potatoes and grits. I got eggs and home fries. The food and service was very great. My boyfriend and I decided to have breakfast at Table Talk on Sunday, 12/5 after reading all the great reviews online! (We live 45 minutes away from the restaurant.) We entered the restaurant and was seated almost immediately. We were ushered by two available tables to be placed in the corner (left-side of bar), second table from the back. After waiting for approximately 10 minutes, our server finally acknowledged us after making eye contact with me and his sixth time walking by our table. He indicated that he would be right back. We waited another 15/20 minutes and decided to leave after we saw him greeting and taking orders of the two tables that arrived after us. This was quite disappointing and disturbing because we began to wonder if we were treated unfairly because of the color of our skin. The other two tables were of the same skin tone as the server. As we explained to the host, we were disappointed to have spent approximately 30 minutes in an establishment and not even have a food order taken and/or given water or silverware. I did send an e-mail to the restaurant but have not received a response. This is disturbing to me as it's almost a week later and it bothered me enough to share my experience. read more

Usually I have great food and excellent service here. Not today. I ordered a hamburger with lettuce, tomato, onion, mustard and chips and unsweet tea. They were out of tea. When my burger arrived, no mustard but with mushrooms, which I did NOT order. So I scraped off the mushrooms and ate the burger, with water. When the bill came, I was charged $ .35 for the mushrooms. Came in early on a dreary Sunday morning, wanted to beat the church crowd and not have to deal with dishes this weekend. There was no wait, staff was friendly, and we had hot coffees within a couple minutes of being at the table. Very old-school diner feel with a anachronistic twist of the UHD big screen streaming CNN into the main dinning room from the corner. No doubt, a nod to the area and clientele. Food arrived quickly. Eggs Benedict, pancakes, and bacon were all delicious. The home fries were classic with just a touch of paprika and butter. Again, service was warm and attentive throughout our meal. Bill was about $45 for 2.5 people (tot-in-tow). So ok value. For those near Old Town and Carlyle, this is a perfect breakfast spot. read more

This is a quality local diner where my wife and I previously had great experiences. Unfortunately, our experience with the hostess this morning will cause us not to come back. After requesting a table that could accommodate 3 people (2 adults and a child), the hostess refused.
